Best way to get Flash working on a Touch Pro2...? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

I'm using a TP2 with the stock WM6.5 ROM, and am interested in getting Flash support working on websites.
So far I've tried using FixOperaFlash.exe with the built in Opera 9.5, which doesn't work at all.
I've also installed Skyfire, which does work, but is so blurry and pixellated I just can't stand to launch it.
Is there a better option? I'm interested in doing things like watching the video/audio reports on the BBC news website, and maybe playing the odd Flash game.
EDIT: tried Internet Explorer. That gets as far as launching the Streaming Media Player on YouTube (but doesn't actually download anything - possibly O2 is blocking it, and it would work over wifi, I don't know). But it doesn't work on the BBC news website: just gives me a message saying "this content doesn't seem to be working, try again later".

so far there is no flash support for WM devices and they only way you can view flash is with skyfire and its pixelated because 1 you need to zoom in and/or 2 its compressed to save you on data costs and for speed

thats not true. it works for ie on wm6.5, and some builds of opera 9.5 out of the box, and fixoperaflash has enabled it on every version of 9.5 and 9.7 ive tried.

apps for watching online

hi im just wondering if there are any apps that can play videos online like programs from here http://freedocumentaries.net
coreplayer maybe?
any others? thanks
If you want to watch the movie online, try Skyfire! It's definitely not very smooth, but AFAIK it's the only possible way to watch Flash 8 and higher content...
Thanks.. Ill install in now
agreed on skyfire but there are some others, this is what you should know.
skyfire - connection to a remoe pc running firefox, so works well but is a camera on a webbrowser! lol
iris browser - open source webkit, i like this for youtube and stuff like that which is embeded on sites, also allows for other flash things.
pie6, if you have a custom rom, u might get this, something like dutty, it works but OMG how slow it can be, sucks the life out of your processor.
these are just the ones i have used before, but i cannot talk about opera and flash, as ive never really had it work, other then just on basic flash presentations.
theres always iplayer via opera

IE Flash support gone

Hello,
Can anybody help me get Flash support working on IE again?
This applies to T-Mobile USA Touch Pro2 version and this what happened.
I changed the default browser from IE to Opera (via opera:config), but soon found out Opera did not play youtube videos. I installed Flash7 for PPC to no avail. I removed Flash 7 via add/remove programs
When I went to open a youtube video in IE, like I'd done before, it did not work either. There's a placeholder in the page for the video, but nothing else.
I would appreciate if anybody could lead me in the right directions to:
1) restore flash playing capabilities on IE
2) enable flash playing capabilities on Opera Mobile
As a bonus, how could you make IE default browser again? Just curious...
Thanks
Luis
Had you thought about installing Skyfire instead? That has pretty good flash support, and is faster than Opera for general browsing.
Thanks for your reply Shasarak.
Yes. I had it and I remove it, however, my original question still stands.
I want first to get the phone to its former state (IE plays youtube), then we can discuss alternatives.
Thanks,
Luis
I believe the IE supoort for Flash is currently based around the Flash Lite player (at least for the TP2 from Telstra). Come this October, there would be a public beta from Adobe for the full Flash 10 player for mobile phones like WM phones. The beta player is the plug in for browsers. And sometime next year, hopefully there would be the full standalone AIR (Adobe Integrated Runtime) player for mobile phones as well.

What version of Opera are you using? My guess is it doesnt support flash. I am not sure if Opera 10 supports flash - maybe someone else can tell you.
Otherwise - check out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=544770
You downloaded core player - did you install it? What file extension are you trying to play?
Search for "fixOperaFlash" here on XDA. It allows Opera to play flash video and works OK (a little jittery and decrease page load times considerably).
Or better yet (IMO) give the new Skyfire a try (www.skyfire.com). Its much faster than Opera (on my CDMA TP2) and plays flash, silverlight, etc. VERY well.

Web Browser, flash Player & HTML5

3 questions about the web browser and things related.
1: what is the best web browser? some people say Dolphin, yet some say Dolphin Beta? I'm looking for something that supports flash videos (like south park studios . com, and flash / java games) Someone point me in the right direction. Also when I do get a 3rd party web browser do I still need my stock? Will it serve any purpose?
2: If I download a web browser that supports flash, do I still need Adobe Flash Player or no? Also is there a particular version of Adobe flash Player that's superior? Someone said 10.6 was the best, I'm on 11.1, does it make a difference? Any benefits one has that the other doesn't?
And 3: What exactly is HTML5, It's like a Desktop viewing experience on a mobile device right?
-Thanks

1. I personally love Dolphin Beta. Great loading times and the best support for HTML5 as well as flash player. After you installed Dolphin you don't need stock anymore, but I keep it installed, just in case. The difference between standard and beta version is that the beta version has a customized engine that supports HTML5 and is much faster that the stock one.
2. From what I gathered, Dolphin uses the stock browser engine with a layer of customizations on top, so I think you still need to have Adobe Flash installed, though I'm not 100% sure. You should try uninstalling and checking if it still works in Dolphin.
3. HTML5 is a new standard for web pages, it allows you to have games and video players work directly without having to install any plugins (e.g. Java, Flash, etc.)

[Q] Poor Video and No Flash Player ability

My Tab Pro has poor quailty when playing some videos (not all) usually live streaming but some video playback. Lots of horizontal lines and overall bad quality. Its bad enough that I cant watch a movie. This wasn't always the case but started about a month ago. Also, I'm not able to view any website videos that use Adobe Flash Player, no matter if I'm on IE, Chrome, Dolphin, whatever. I checked with the website and my isp and they're both telling me it's my device that is the problem. I've only had this tablet for 8 months, how can this be???? Am I missing something?
You have to google adobe flash for 4.4 (don't have a link, sorry) . Then use dolphin browser and make sure is is set to appear as a desktop. This is the only browser I have found to work with Flash. Post back if you need more explicit instructions.
Sent from my SM-T520 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yes, I found a YouTube video a few weeks ago that walked me through this process and it worked for awhile ...but then one day...poof....no longer worked...I hit the blogs and read that there was an update that came through that disabled something a having to do with disabling Adobe Flash Players that were downloaded manually??? I really don't understand, but it made sense that whoever had an android 4.4 and above could not use Abode Flash Player. My daughter just purchased a tablet and had the same exact experiences at the same time as me, so it seemed to be true. I'm just looking for an answer for my Galaxy Tab Pro.
Flash player is still working just fine for me in dolphin. Also as a flash browser Puffin browser works with all flash content ive come across with no trouble whatsoever.
