how to know whether touch diamond is cid, securty locked or unlocked? - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV ROM Development

hello,
i have a htc touch diamond from vodafone german, it was sim unlocked when i had it. now i wanna to upgrade to wm6.5.
questions
1- can i upgrade to a custom wm6.5 rom becasue it was simlockfree when i had it. hence i think there was no simlock therefore i can upgrade to a custom rom.
2-how can i know whether touch diamond has a cid , securty locked?
thx for answering

Go in bootloader mode (SOFT RESET + VOL UP)
If in SPL there's the word "Olinex", your cid is unlocked

Actually your bootloader will say OliNex and the version.
If it doesn't, don't flash any roms as it means your device is not Hard SLP which is what protects your phone from getting destroyed.

Mine say's security unlocked in RED on the top of bootloader screen and spl-1.40.OliNex

You should update your Hard SPL to 1.93 found in my signature.

as i said the touch diamond was simlockfree when i bought it. also every touch diamond is securty locked? doesnt matter if it is simlockfree or not. i mean the bought touch diamonds hava always securty locked. in order to flash to a custom rom it needs to be remove the security, cid.
i did not use the olinex because it was simlockfree. how can i see whether it is cid locked or not.
thx

No you don't need to have your device "Security Unlocked" as the purpose of this is to use other devices radios. No phones are bought retail with Sucurity restrictions unlocked. Don't worry as this is Not necessary!
What is necessary is to put 1.93 Hard SPL on your device to flash a rom.

language changing on AK2u rom

Hi,
I have an Wizard with IPL /SPL 1.05, I unlock CID, then upgraded to AK2U rom(IPL/SPL 2.17), then tried CID unlock with lokiwiz, unlocking failed with error:...
CopyFileToTFFS(cidunlocked.bin:0, 0, 00010000)
ERROR: ITWriteDisk - internal error.

However, I still can 2sd all & write back the full rom.
So, my thinking is :
1) once the CID is unlocked, we can flash the pda with any rom & the cid remain unlocked after flashing.
2)To change language on AK2U rom,I think we can tried to downgrade the rom into IPL/SPL 1.xx, by using a same country/brand rom. e.g. downgrade a German Qtek AK2U rom with a German Qtek 1.xx rom, then unlock cid, we might be able to flash it into any other language/brand.
3) But what is the reason for the cid unlock fail? Is it due to the 2.xx IPL or 2.xx SPL? Or due to the os version? or combination of some/all reason?
4) Is the CID lock located in the IPL? or SPL? or OS?

Artemis CID locked

How do I know if my Artemis is CID locked or unlocked?
Normaly all devices are cid locked, exept it was stolen
You could try the O2 Update if an error ocours it is locked.
And how can one unlock it?

[Q] Keeping HTC DEsire HD unlocked

I had a previous thread before but it seems to be deleted... sorry?
ive followed threads http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905003
and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857537
Ah i ok i just thought because i have S-OFF, i would be able to install the stock rom it anyway, so ive done that and installed the stock PD98IMG 1.32.405.6
Is there anything else i need to do to prevent the phone from locking again? also ive read about this clockworkmod recovery and rom manager.... is that needed to keep my unlock or anything? thanks again guys.
You do not need to do anything anymore, your phone will remain unlocked until you lock it again using Radio S-OFF tool.
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
Also i have set my "CID" to stock HTC__001, but im not sure what this is meant to do as it seems to have made no difference?
... and your saying that for my phone to become locked again, i would have to change it to s-off, then click "sim unlock" again?
The radio S-OFF tool does not change your software CID, it changes the bootloader CID. So there it makes huge difference. You can try it, you no longer need a goldcard
For your phone to become locked, yes, you have to select S-ON and put your branded CID to your phone (if your phone is branded, that is). The SimUnlock cannot be undone, and it does not matter, because anybody can unlock their phones when they just pay for the code. The difference is that radio tool is free.
thanks for the reply mate..
i just have one question "For your phone to become locked, yes, you have to select S-ON and put your branded CID to your phone"... i have put S-On back, as i was worried i would make changes by accident to the nand so i put it back to s-On just incase, and my phone isnt locked its still unlocked?
... also im not following you with the CID idea, the phone was/is branded to Orange UK, so i set the CID to stock HTC__001, but this has made no differerence and still seems to be branded...?
and when you say it changes the boot loader CID, do you mean the white recovery screen etc? and when you said it makes a huge difference, what do you mean by that?
You say that your phone is still unlocked after S-ON, what do you mean by that? You cannot install a custom rom, so it is not unlocked. Root is possible with S-ON, but try modifying something in /system/..
And what do you mean about phone still being branded after HTC__001? The CID is just a permission to install different ROMs from different sources, for example HTC__001 allows you to flash any WWE ROM. You probably had ORANG001, with that it was not possible to flash HTC WWE ROM.
by unlocked i mean, can accept any simcard from any network, for example i am using an o2 simcard in it. it is S-ON, im just wanting to make sure i dont lose my unlock.
also what does WWE mean. sorry for the noobness guys.

Debrand o2 one X

I have a branded o2 Htc One x, can I just flash it with a ruu file from a genric model or do I have to still unlock the bootloader ect?
I don't really want to ruin the warranty.
Flashing a s3 was easy but seems alot more when it comes to this handset and so many threads and not sure which to follow.
Help!!

you need S-off to flash any ruu, if you unlock the bootloader, flash CWM you can flash a custom rom or just delete all the o2 bloatware but it'll still have the o2 CID

You dont need s-off to flash any ruu maybe to debrand the phone but not any
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
You need S-Off to get super CID to flash an RUU with a CID that does not match the CID your phone came with.
If you want to be able to flash any RUU (as opposed to a few particular RUUs) you need S-Off.
English language allows for ambiguity

CID change questions

Hello, I am an owner of HTC 10 bought in T-Mobile in Poland, Europe. My latest available software through OTA was 1.95.118.3, as shown on screenshot below, with the security patch from August. I wanted to change my CID to USA unlocked, but I have a couple of questions:
1) If I unlock the bootloader and change CID, will I be able to re-lock the bootloader?
2) If so, do you think that if I change CID to USA-unlocked and relock the bootloader my phone will be normally accepted on HTC warranty as if it was just stock? Or will they say that if my CID is from usa, my phone has to be serviced in USA?
3) Can HTC prove that I've unlocked my phone's bootloader and thus refuse to accept the warranty? I mean, even if I relock it, does HTC collect any info during the process of unlocking?
Thanks for the reply!
Your phone is out of HTC warranty either way when the bootloader gets unlocked. Even without changing the CID.
You need to be S-Off in order to change your CID, and Sunshine gives the option to S-Off your phone without unlocking the bootloader.
With S-Off "locked" you will still be able to flash a custom recovery and ROM, but staying locked will hide that from HTC for warranty. You just have to go back to S-On using Sunshine

What you said made me extremely happy One question - on sunshine changelog it says:
Version 3.4
No wipe/format for HTC 10 (when choosing S-OFF/LOCKED)
S-OFF/LOCKED will behave as S-OFF/UNLOCKED on HTC 10
Does it mean if I choose S-OFF/LOCKED it will still be shown in bootloader as UNLOCKED?

No it will show S-OFF/locked. But you can do everything you can do with an S-OFF/unlocked device.
