[Q] chrome xda-developers.com malware

I tried to log on to xda this morning using chrome and received a Malware warning.
"www.xda-developers.com contains malware. Your computer might catch a virus if you visit this site."
Its not recived on the home page or the forums but only any page located above http://www.xda-developers.com/android/
my browser has no problem with
http://www.xda-developers.com/windows-mobile
Whats going on?
there was an attack on the site I think, at least I got redirected to a malware site once when I clicked page2 on the android news section, but afaik it's all gone now
check this link, should explain all: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=854561
me 2
Firefox 4.0 beta 7 also gives me a warning.
The main site, http://www.xda-developers.com/ is ok to view, but http://www.xda-developers.com/android/the-weekly-qa-week-16/ gets blocked right away.
WTF?
The site admins are aware, and steps are being taken to get the warnings removed, now the infection is gone.

Am I imagining things, or did Extended Controls use to be open source?

http://extendedcontrols.honoluluteam.net/
http://code.google.com/p/extendedcontrols/
Maybe I just saw the Google Code page and the Apache License and thought the source was available, but I could've sworn I had actually browsed through it at some point. Or am I nuts?
It looks like they're using Google Code for issue tracking only, and that it's not truly an open source project. If you wanted to get them kicked off Google Code, you could. Not saying you should do that, but I don't see evidence that they're really open source, and that is a clearly stated requirement for hosting a project on Google Code.

Posting Photospheres Elsewhere

This might not be the right place for this...
Given Photosphere's open nature, is there a way to post photospheres to other websites? Specifically I want to put photospheres on my self-hosted Wordpress blog, either by hosting on G+ and embedding, or even better by uploading straight to my Wordpress site.
Any ideas (for a code novice!)?

Open? What is this I don't even...
AFAIK you can only take photosphere's using the GalleryGoogle camera, and only view them in GalleryGoogle and on G+
Yeah, they're open. The photospheres are nothing but standard jpeg panoramas. Anyone could write an app to view them mapped onto a sphere.
photo.merq.org
photo.merq.org is a new site for publishing your spheres. You can decide if you want to set your photos in public or private mode.
You only need a google account.
Not many pics on site at the moment.

Just to add, you can do some really rad photos with photosphere besides spheres. Like a super-wide angle shot

From a house I went to view last month. I hadn't even intended on it just kinda screwed up and then realised the photo came out great anyway as a flat picture. I've taken a few more just this way since then (2 rows of 6-8 shots horizontal)
I really think it should be Jelly Bean's killer feature. There's nothing like this on any other system.
But no-one seems to have picked it up to run with, especially third-party plug ins. As soon as other sites can post them, the rest of the world will notice how awesome they are!
In case anyone is interested, there is now a Wordpress plugin that works brilliantly at displaying Photospheres on your own blog.
WP-Photosphere: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-photo-sphere/
And the plugin used on my own site: http://photostream.electro-web.co.uk/2013/03/26/carisbrooke-castle/
Widpic.com
Its a free tool to host and share 360 photosphere pictures
You can host a photosphere and put it in your web site easily.

Petition to ask Android to NOT remove support for home button from Jellybean 4.2

Hello XDA users! (posted in this Forum as this relates to use of an Accessory (Dock's))
Together with several App Developers we (iBOLT) are starting a petition today that we will attempt to deliver to Andy Rubin in about two weeks. The purpose is to ask the Android Dev Team NOT to remove the support to auto launch an app (through a car/home dock or NFC tag) and have this app be your new "home screen" until the handset is removed from the NFC tag or the Dock itself. See details and sign this petition if you agree on http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/dock/
Here's the link to the "issue" raised on the Android Alliance project platform
Here's the link to the 4.2 source code. See line 4361/2 "void startDockOrHome() {
// We don't have dock home anymore. Home is home. If you lived here, you'd be home by now.
Why should Android remove a key feature? Having a "driving screen" app like CarHome Ultra or Ulysse Speedometer/Dashboard is a terrific feature and going forward, a distinct advantage for the Android platform.
Please help us by re-posting the above petition link to other user forums around the world and help us bring this to the Android Dev Team's attention so they put the couple of lines of codes back in again required to support "home button" feature!
Please also make comments and keep the discussion going so that this thread is seen by many!
Interesting. What's their reason for stopping support for that?
Signed.
Why would they remove that functionality? Crazy.
Signed
