TP3

i remember when looking for a new phone that around jan this year the first details of the tp2 came out and from then on we got to see more videos etc of it from phone shows
can we expect the same in jan2010 for the TP3
for me if they make it slightly slimmer with the spec of HD2 then i think it would be perfect
no way should they tamper with the keyboard
heres hopeing jan 2010 brings us our first look at the tp3

how about touch pro 3 with a capacitive touchscreen that supports multi-touch?

thats what i said same spec as hd2 couldn't agree more

while not as compact and a all in one solution, i replaced my rhodium with a hd2 + logitech dinovo mini combination

I kind of doubt it. They still have a lot of money to make on the TP2. I guess the timing wouldn't be that different compared to where the TP1 was in its lifecycle, but that device seemed spent much sooner to me--it also sticks out a little in the product line as the TP2 probably is more of a tytn III than a TP2. I think we'll see the first leaks on a TP2 + snapdragon in late spring or summer. There might even be an inclination to delay it for a rollout with winmo7.
On the other hand, an HD2 Pro could be justifiable before then. I suspect the distinction doesn't make a difference to you, but a device with a 3.6" screen really is in a different category than a device with 4.3" screen. I'm not totally sure what that category would be exactly. Business for people looking for an OQO replacement? Multimedia for people looking for a better video player/gaming experience? Big-handed people?

HERE at the bottom of the page. But a keyboard and a tilt mech on the HD2 and I am in. Dont get to excited though when you look at the specks you'll know why

Ok, yes it has a slightly faster processor but with smaller screen! WQVGA...no way!
I don´t think we will see a real upgrade for Rhodium till 2011

I think HTC was targeting the n97 mini with this one. Although I think the n97 mini has the same resolution as the n97.

HD2 will have Windows Phone 7 Series OS

Forward to 6:51:30 and watch the ladie hand raied to her Ear @ 6:51:38

No it isnt that is the demo phone that was used in the press event. It only has three hardware buttons at the bottom. The HD2 has 5 buttons.

If this is HD2 > leaked roms soon

I hate to break it to you guys but i very much doubt that they would have gone to all the trouble covering up the HD2 if they were going to release it for the HD2, it is almost definitely a prop

Guys... you don't get it... there are two different phones there, one IS the HD2, the other one is that prototype.
Yes, the HD2 is in that video. But no, at no point is it shown running WP7.

Please provide a picture where the hd2 is shown in this video...

The front is grey, this is not the HTC HD2. And this phone on the picture has corners too round compared to the HD2

Even thou its an HD2 it doesnt mean a ****. So what if Microsoft is using the HD2 for WinPhone 7 commercial? They used the hell out of the Touch Diamond to promote WM 6.5 but we never saw it coming officially.
And porting, how do you guys know its as "easy" as before. Cab files and roms:s?

First Sensible Comment in this thread.

And hypothetically: IF there is a prototype that runs Windows Phone 7 and looks like the HD2, it does not mean that it shares the same internal hardware. HTC might provide a prototype based on the HD2 with different hardware specifications (faster/other CPU, different graphics processor, more internal storage, ...).
However, I think the best explanation is that Microsoft uses the HD2 in a commercial without it running Windows Phone 7.

That would be hilarious, except didn't Apple finally give in on copy/paste? And rumor has it, multitasking might be on the way in.
I think the UI would look more at home on a sidekick given what's actually underneath. MS isn't in the smartphone business anymore.

i think the thread: are ms on crack should include some other guys too... if you think wp7s is a copy of the affle ifhone... cant say it, i might burn my tong... wp7s will be great and its really innovative! and with some tweaks and other good stuff from XDA im sold!!!!

Maybe the UI is better but it lacks all the apps so no advantage over iPhone, shich is a piece of crap and so is WP7S.

I unmount my hd2 to change the keys, so I will update to Microsoft WP7!
how nice! I will have an iPhone but with the form of an HD2!

Nokia's First WM7 Device

Looks like Nokia's first Windows Phone has been leaked by the CEO no less. It looks a lot like the recently announced N9, but no word on what the internal specs are. It will have to blow the current generation of phones out of the water for me to give up the Super AMOLED screen on my Focus.

i didn't see any windows buttons. In the video he didn't actually turn it on.

Microsoft is in a very poor situation with regard to WP7, trying to push a new OS to a market which isn't exactly dying for one, needing hundreds of phones and friendly distribution, but the video doesn't make it any worse.

I don't particularly enjoy the Nx designs. Sad to see them sticking with it for wp7.
ALTHOUGH I do like the boxiness aspect. I think rounded edges are old school, boxiness is a good thing design-wise.

Or, you could say that rounded phones are a case of "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". Pulling a square-edged, boxy phone out of my pocket can be a real pain, but a phone that has nice rounded corners is not a problem at all.
And personally, boxy = ugly to me.

Hmm never thought of it that way. Would never have thought of that as I've never owned one without rounded edges.

I like it. I like the N9 and think this model would make a good WP7 device.

Yeah, the Sensation is aptly named. I would love to have one. But I can't see anything wrong with this WP7 Nokia device. Imagine it in some other colors.

Since they are on-screen buttons, they can be minimized or disappear altogether during a game or open app. This would completely eliminate the accidental press of these buttons.

EDIT: Interesting to see that the bright theme is rarely used.

am i the only one who thinks the way the nokias reflect the light makes their digitisers look like they are made of cheap plastic (don't know from experience, touched a wp7 nokia)
