flashed ROM/ No my medianet - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

I am new to tweaking my phone, it is a ATT Tilt 2 and I currently have the Energy Rom and Co0kies. My question is that I cannot connect to ATT My MEdia net thru Opera 10. Can anyone give me any pointers on how to configure it to have opera connect to My Media net.
Thanks

I think you could have been a tad more vague.
How is it possible that you were able to flash a rom and Hardspl the phone but you are unable to load a cab?
When you replaced the rom all the factory settings for your provider were erased. The cab he pointed to you reinstalls the ATT settings. You will still have to go to the connections box and select what you want your data connection to be.
Ask a proper question and on this site you are likely to get a great and informative response.
Oh, and welcome to XDA.

Well, Sorry if my question seemed vauge, Thanks for the cab file. I was able to install it no w/ no problems. My problem is not that I cannot connect with My MEdia net for internet connection, but I am trying to access the the ATT Stock My MEdia net personal Home page using Opera or any Browser.
Any help would be appreciated...

you have to enable the proxy to view medianet sites
go to this thread and download the proxy manager cab, once installed, just open up the enable proxy and you'll be good to go.

Thanks, Will install and check it out thanks...

Installed cab and restored hidden proxys, but I am unable to connect to the site? If anyone is familar with the stock ATT site it is device.home\
Broswer just says unable to connect? Stumped, I have been searching for days... Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks

The ATT Proxy cabs are for internet explorer. For Opera you need to modify the opera config. To do this point the Opera browser to "opera:config"
Once there, go to the Proxy settings and enable these:
Enable HTTP 1.1 for proxy
HTTP server=wireless.cingular.com
HTTPS server=wireless.cingular.com
Use HTTP
Use HTTPS
Use Proxy On Local Names Check
Save the settings. This will get you access to http://device.home
Unfortunately, Celluar Video will not work as it checks the User Agent, and Opera 10 is not supported through the ATT Proxies. You can try setting a custom User Agent in "opera:config" and set it to something like:
"HTC-ST7377/2.07.401.1 (80303) WWE Opera/9.70 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en)"
I have no clue if this will work though.

IDK
Thank you for your help, I am still having difficulties...
It basicly timed out trying to connect to the site, so I tried a basic site i.e. google and it still was timing out? I will try again, with the help of one of my co-workers who is more tech savy using the TP2 aswell but is w/ verizon

Same problem here.
Did you ever find a solution?
yes i have it working, there are a few things you have to do. you can install advanced config and you need to change under internet explorer the user agent custom base is set to mozilla/4.0 it needs to be changed to HTC-8500/1.2 Mozilla/4.0 or you can install the cab file to install proxy folders that i have included in the download it will also install 2 folders to enable and dissable the cingular proxy because you cannot check pop3 e mail with the proxy on, proxy has to be on for cingular video. also in the download is a cab for realplayer, the one in the cab for cIngularvideo does not work! install this 1 and most important after installing the realplayer run it and go to preferences and network and change type to 802.11b dont know why but it will work! and also in the download is a shortcut to cingular video for your favorites folder or you can just type in http://cingularvideo.cingular.com/ dont need to install the old cingularvideo cab! it just takes up space .
hope i it workf for you, it does for me

Original AIM, ICQ, YAHOO install file from Tmobile

Does anyone know where I can get the Install File to get this back on my phone? The one from Tmobiles ROM
I guess its not possible!? its the only AIM version that I could get working on my service.
here is OZ...the original i think
thank you so much. i've been all over looking for this since i installed the kavana rom
actually i'm getting connection issues with both yahoo and AIM
on AIM i'm getting a text while signing on that says...
WV11RL2 ST = (200, "Successful") SI=1.1ax
and it goes on for more than i care to type.
it then times out.
make sure you install it to the phone not the storage card.
Thanks. I was looking for this.
I installed it to the phone's memory and it works great.
Does Oz count toward my SMS usage or internet?

I was having that same error so I installed the OZ Messenger to the phone but I am still getting the "Communications Error" after AIM tries to sign on.
I've tried to reboot many times but no dice.
after trying about 10 times, it finally connected but once I logged off and tried to connect again, I get the same connection error.
I tried rebooting many times no to avail.

PM me and I will send you the configurations when I get home, but make sure to PM me so I can remember to do that once I get home okay
Is your phone App unlocked??
try this version AFTER you uninstall and reboot your phone.
Reboot after you install it in main memory.

Opera Mini 4 and T-zones proxy hack

I was able to install Opera Mini 4 via usb cable with my computer onto my Dash phone and O.M. is a lot better than IE in my opinion. However, once I disconnect the usb cable, O.M. no longer is able to connect. When I use the usb cable again, it still won't connect. " Failed to connect to the Internet " is the message that'll appear on my phone. The only time it will connect is when I re-install O.M. while synced with the computer via usb cable. It seems like to be a one time deal only each time.
I'm just wondering if there is some sort of proxy hack for this and has O.M. 4 worked for anyone who is using the 5.99 t-zones proxy hack.
Thanks in advance !
Ok, my first post was edited. Ignore my 2nd one which is this.
I used the proxy hack and it works like a charm. Try restarting your phone and see if the proxy hack works with Opera (which it should work for sure).
Thanks for the reply, jdoggraz.
I have tried soft rebooting severals times and O.M. still doesn't connect. That same message ( Failed to connect to the Internet ) still appears.
Any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated !
I believe I had to go to menu/tools/settings and change the protocol from socket to http before it would work.
Well try to log into Internet Explorer first in order to start up "edge." Then give it a shot with Opera while it is connected to edge. Then once you get this going you can close IE up and just run Opera. This step is done in order to get edge to be "on."
Tried both of your guys' suggestions and it's still unable to connect. Will it work using the regular t-zones w/out the proxy hack?
Yes, it can work. I'm assuming your still using WM 6.0?
1. The problem is the java manager that ships with the Dash doesn't allow installed programs to use the proxy. You need to install a new java manager called jbed. Read this link for instructions on how to do it: http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/ppc-...ed-includes-info-new-java-midlet-manager.html
2. A 2nd (possible) option is to lose the proxy all together. T-Mobile has a new access point that doesn't require a proxy setting to access the internet, even on the $5.99 plan.
Go into your Data connection and use these settings:
Connects to: The Internet
Access Point: epc.t-mobile.com
Leave the rest blank and it should work. I've been using this for almost two weeks without problem.

Still no success. Just curious though, what are your exact proxy settings?

Thanks for the link but the jbed file was invalid. I did a hard reboot and had my default settings for t-zones but still no luck. Now I want O.M. more than ever !

Did you try the new Access Point? The default AP is wap.voicestream.com. Change that to epc.t-mobile.com and see if that works.

Yeah and it still won't connect to the internet. I also did a soft reboot prior and attempted w/the new AP again but still the same result so now I had changed it back to it's default AP. Oh, and to answer your previous question, I have wm 6.
Here are my exact settings:
Description: T-Zones Proxy
Connects from: Wap Network
Connects to: The Internet
Proxy (name : port): 216.155.165.50:8080
Type: HTTP
User name: <blank>
Password: <blank>
Connects to: WAP Network
Access point: wap.voicestream.com
User name: <blank>
Password: <blank>
Primary DNS: 0.0.0.0
Secondary DNS: 0.0.0.0
IP address: <blank>
Internet Explorer: "Automatically detect settings" is unchecked.
Select Network: The Internet
Now I'm just wondering if any of those settings have to be tweaked for O.M. to work. Thanks again y'all for all the help.

Those settings are not the problem, the java manager is. If you want to use OM over the proxy you need the esmertec jbed manager. I did a search and found a couple threads that still have different versions of it.

You could also upgrade your OS to WM6.1. Both Kavana and Rickwyatt's Roms have it preinstalled.
Just make sure you're ready to do a hard reset if things don't go well!
Thanks Aaron, my O.M. finally is able to connect to the internet now ! For some reason, I clicked on the 2nd link first and was able to install the cab file but there was some sort of error opening it up. The first link (Cloudyfa EsmertecJbed cab file), however, worked great and I was stoked to see O.M. up and functioning now .
I tried googling for answers but found none. This site is really awesome with some really cool and helpful folks and info. Thanks again y'all and Aaron, you the MAN !

[Q] Proxy Settings on DEFY

Hi all,
With reference to this thread I found:
https://supportforums.motorola.com/message/311407
I've got the same problem as he does.
There is no way to set proxy URL and proxy port for Wi-Fi connections. I am trying to access a secure WiFi network at my work but it also uses a proxy to enable access to the outside networks. I can access internal websites but not the "regular" Internet sites.

Been trying to get my Defy working with the university's Wi-Fi but apparently Android doesn't natively support it (sorry if I've worded it wrongly, still new to the OS) due to the lack of iptables.
Would flashing any of the ROMs out there help with this issue? And if so, which?
I'm on the 2.21 firmware.
I've tried multiple apps on the market and also tried following connection instructions for eduroam with no luck.
Thanks

after i flash to S8530XPKG6 i can't connect to internet both gprs/wifi, through only wifi i can access to Youtube. browser, IM. facebook, samsung application, social hub are not working. when i try to connect giving[ Error Network not available 0xff01] [set connection for network services]etc. pls. help
go to setting-network-connection ,click yes and choose new
here you have to create new connection of your Operator
Most times you need to fill only "access name"
find your Operator's access name.
and your internet will work
sorry of my bad english...
only after creating the access point, you can connect to the internet via wifi..if you are not subscribed for the data plan then create a dummy and select it as default...after this you should be able to use wifi for apps as well
Thanks mate, it's working now.
