About Desire's Unlock? - Desire General

Hello everyone,
I bought an HTC desire locked to another network than mine, i had ACER liquid and i unlocked it using another rom, i dunno whether its possible to do the same with the desire, if not is there any legitimate trusty site to provide its unlock codes, for i found many with both positive and negative reviews, i'm totally lost; i've read lots of forums fruitlessly, i know my answer will be here.
thanks in advance.

HTCCode.com work fine. But the desire is not included in their price deal follow the instructions below:
If you get the status as unknown then the code is not available on our old database.
You must use the new database to obtain the code. (Codes are delivered instantly now)- Updated on 22nd April
This service was launched yesterday and will cost you $25/ 20 EUR for each code and the delivery time is 1-3 (Codes are delivered instantly)days at the max. You can send the money in any currency EURO or US Dollar.
Right now this is the only way to unlock the new phones and we are the only ones providing this service currently.
In this case do not purchase the code from the website.
You can send the money directly to [email protected] by Paypal for 25USD( US Dollar) $ with the IMEI no included in message to the seller.
Your 15 EUR will be refunded automatically by us.
PS : This applies to HTC Desire,Legend and HTC HD 2 and other newly manufactured HTC phones. Please pay in US Dollar($). Update : 29th April : Prices dropped from $35 to $25 enjoy

XDA IIi

I am wondering if there's XDA IIi available in the Philippine market and how much is the cost....
Hi! I'm new member. You can see the price of OIIi at: http://shop.uplands.co.uk/acatalog/XDA_2i__XDA_IIi_.html
It was the price in UK! And in Philippine, I don't know. I'm a Vietnamese
according to O2 Asia tech support when i called them a couple months back, they have no plans on selling the IIi in asia, so you will have to get them from somewhere else.
on the upside, i can vouch for uplands, as i bought my xdaII from that site while i was in the UK last year. apart from having competitive prices, they are efficient and responsive in my experience & after sales service (while i was in the UK) was v good. also no trouble getting the unlocking code from them, though i had to go through a few people to do that.
me i'm gonna wait for the HTC universal due september 2005 =)
I'm in Vietnam. My brother will sent a XDA2i to me. He is in England. I don't know to unlock it! Could you give me the way to unlock it! Thank you very much!
hi =)
i bought mine on a 1 year contract, after which, of course, i had to get it unlocked to use it on a network other than O2.
If you are buying one from the UK, you will have to ensure that it is SIM-Free, (which is the one listed at £562.83 at that link you provided). if you have bought this, then there should be no problem.
if you bought it on any other tariff-based price, then they anticipate that you will go through your contract (i believe 12-month based) regardless of whether you get the unlocking code or not. to get the code i called uplands, who transferred me from the sales to some support department, where the person there had to go through several weeks of dealing with O2 to get me the code. i paid a fee (charged to me by O2 through uplands), and she later e-mailed the code to me. considering that this was one year after i purchased my xda from uplands, and have had little dealings with them (uplands) since, that she took the time & effort to do this for me left a very good impression on me. of course, this may vary by person, so i can't guarantee anything =) just speak for myself.
dunno about the IIi but there have been programs here to extract the unlocking code from the phone itself for the XDAII. though have run into some problems. since i already got mine 'officially', i havent read those thread carefully.
To somynex
It means: XDAIIi cann't be unlock if he has not used up all the fixed time regulated for this???

no it can be unlocked (the unlocking code can be obtained for a fee at any time). but in theory if you get it at a 1 year contract, they usually expect you to see out that one year. there are buy out clauses but those usually bump the price up to what you would've paid had you not bought it under a contract obligation in the first place.
i know people who have defaulted on their contracts but i like my good credit rating, and intend to keep it that way =)
The unlocking code can be obtained for free at any time? Where? How?

http://largesseworld.com has the same offer, selling Touch Pro2's for $500. I emailed the contact asking if this was a typo or if they had them, and got a reply from Mr. Tim Cuhls
that read:
Yes we have it in stock and ready to be shipped.
Shipping is Overnight.
Send me your delivery address.
Who asks for a delivery address like that? After a bit of research I found out that TP2 release date is 6/1. I replied, asking about that, and was told:
We have them directly from HTC.
I'm thinking definitely a scam. The pictures I've seen of others selling them actually make me think of cheap Chinese knockoffs, too.
only prototype devices are out, and given to some telco ppl, no actual production devices are in the market yet...
pleas be careful of scam....

I honestly don't think there is a way to but a touch pro 2 before they actually start making them lol I am sure there are a few but they aren't actually producing them in masses and the few that do exist aren't for sale, or at least I am pretty sure about all that
Tell them to just forward a handset serial number confirmation prior to shipping so you can validate authenticity with HTC....
I'll bet you get a tumbleweed to blow across your desk before you get a response.
SCAM!!!!!
It is definitely a small scale scam, they are using a 30 day trial from a company who helps you build an on-line store, They do not have any products and will take your money.
man.... if it's too good to be true.......
All Scams!
Trust me, ive been looking. Tired of buying wack att branded phones so this time gonna just not be a cheap ass and but an unlocked htc original tp2. I mean even when its branded its gonna be an easy $300 with 2yr contract. Might as well pay a few bills more for the unbranded. Ive seen them now online as low as $300! For sure scams! Id wait til end of this year to buy one when they are in full circulation.
It would be funny to ask one of them why they are selling them so cheap if they actuallly could sel;l them for like 2-3 times more because they arent out yet and see what they say.
what would be even funnier to ask is how they are sellling them when HTC hasn't started making them yet lol they only made a few models for tests ext. but they actually haven't made any to be sold yet.
According to this http://www.engadget.com/2009/04/16/unlocked-htc-touch-pro2-to-retail-for-880-touch-diamond2-for/ HTC has set the price for the TP2 at $880.
Unbranded TP2 planned for 659,99€ (860$) in france. The status is unavailable now...

is it safe to order from clove.co.uk ???

hi guys, i wanna order htc desire online from clove.co.uk with international shipping to india. the site even says that it ships internationally to india with 2 modes of delivery.
1. international signed mail-£24
2.DHL international courier- £30
i am worried whether to order online to ship desire to india or should i give the US address while ordering & get it from any of my friends who will be visiting india in june.....
it didnt show any error while filling out the address & they do have india as destination in international countries list where they could be shipping the goods.. i am worried whether my parcel gets struck anywhere, i mean at the customs or while crossing international borders, will they search what is the content of the parcel or will i get this parcel from UK in good condition without any tax being imposed on it from the courier guys/customs....
i am worried about the availability of the parcel in india.... please throw some light on this issue... otherwise, pricewise i dont have any issue. its the best deal i could get online at present.....
please anyone reply to my all queries....

WOW !!! thats pretty straight forward.... they do have service in India. but what i wanna know is will there be any problem in recieving the parcel in good condition without paying an extra money otherthan online payment is what i am asking here....
if there is anyone who has recieved this in india without any problem, i want to know that.. thats all man...
how would clover know the difficulties once they ship out the parcel until we tell them... and moreover, they have specified it clearly in their website that local officials /rules cannot be ruled out in price variation... i thought they may ask more money to deliver the goods.... thats worrying me... thats all..
anyway thanks for other useful information....
they are the best along with handtec. and devicewire...

Hey OP, your concern is not with Clove. Your concern is about the customs and procedures of shipping to India.
Is Clove safe? Yes. But once your package is shipped, Clove can't guarantee you anything.
It would be wise for you to change the thread subject to "Any difficulties ordering device overseas and shipping to India?" You might get more useful replies that way.
one doubt i have, will the courier people allow custom officials to manipulate with the parcel ??? i mean if the parcel is well below 500gms, will they check it & put duties ???
because, i have imported few things weighing around 100gms from US, & it has not been verified by the customs... so i dont think parcels seal will be open by the officials.... they might have an agreement with the cargo people i guess....
is there anyone who has hands on experience with these things ????
I ordered one and it came in 2 days. I am in Cyprus BTW....
anyone who got this device from UK in India.... please share ur experiences....
i am really worried.... whether to book it or not.... please tell me is it going to be delivered to me without any customs difficulties ???
I buy a Desire from Clove,no problem .

hey buddy, i had the same question, i want to order an xperia z to mexico and in the faq from clove you can find a recommended import duty & taxes calculator, the page is called dutycalculator dot com and it's awesome, you just put where are you importing from and where into, the device/thing youre importing, its value, and it estimates the importing taxes that you have to pay for it. hope that works for you

Hey. Can you please share your experience about the shipping. Was there any problem?
I am planning to order a Sony Xperia XZ Premium from clove.co.uk and the checkout page shows the final amount as £566.83 (Including FEDEX INT COURIER)
Please could you confirm whether the above mentioned shall be the final amount payable. Or shall I be liable to pay any extra amount in terms of Import Duty or Tax.

EBay is Cheaper
This seems to be a promotional thread that is a lie. I don't see any thanks from people who got free codes. I didn't get any answer to my PM even though it was on the 1st of the month. I'm pissed off.
BUY YOUR CODE FROM A TRUSTED EBAY SELLER AND NOT THIS GUY! IT'S CHEAPER.
This guy wants 30 euros to unlock your Defy. On ebay, prices go from 5 to 20 euros depending on who the phone is locked too.. Just be sure to check their feedback and refund conditions before bidding.
Yeah I never got any reply from him either. However.....in a list of unlockers on Cellphoneforums.net one unlocker upn.com was offering the same deal! And so I got my Defy+ unlocked for free. Great because it was an Aussie one and some US unlockers couldn't do it. It looks like he's not offering the deal atm so don't know if it's a regular thing or not...but it's worth hunting - it did take me about a week to find it though....

There are no free unlock codes on that forum. Only your friend doing it for 25 euros. EBAY IS STILL CHEAPER... and you have some degree of buyer protection if you use paypal.
No my friend I kid you not - I did get a free unlock. My video is @ youtu.be/BPYtcrw6Nh0 (sorry can't post the link). At first I thought it was a scam and there was no way they would refund my unlock fee, but they did I'm guessing they only do it now and then and I just got lucky.

Lucky you.
I used a guy on ebay called sonicpromo(He's got a web site too but it's cheaper on ebay.) Got a 16 digit code that worked for 14 UKP. Took 2 days to get the code. My phone was locked to Vodafone ES.
Vodafone ES wouldn't unlock it because that's the way Vodafone ES is. Of course they couldn't just tell me strait up they won't unlock it. No, they made me wait a month first, and after hassling them a bit, they finally tolled me they wouldn't do it. Not couldn't, but wouldn't.

Has anyone received it yet after submitting their imei information? Just curious on how long it takes for it to get approved and how long after you actually get the coupon code

I guess its again US/UK only, because HTC never introduced any type of deal for the rest of the world.
I saw that they opened it up to orders from their site as well, starting yesterday 8/2. I bought mine last week, so I submitted my info anyway, we'll see if I get anything. It'd be nice to pick up a couple extra quick chargers!
they said to wait 2-3 weeks, it just came out the other day didn't it?

well, I guess this doens't apply to us who bought straight from htc huh? unlocked on whichever carrier we went with...and apparently within that time frame of july 12-31
still submitted my info though
HTC's site is very vague on this. Right on their homepage, it says $100 off the phone AND $100 off accessories. The "and" isn't ambiguous, in my opinion. But on another page on their site, it says "or $100 off accessories if you bought elsewhere".
Has anybody contacted HTC to get clarification on this?

Perhaps you need some refresher courses in English. The wording is clear about the offer in question. It states that if you buy the device on htc.com, you get $100 off the price of the device as well as $100 towards accessories. It also states that if you bought the device elsewhere, like from a carrier, you only qualify for the $100 accessories promo.

Perhaps htc needs help with English because many people are saying they couldn't get both.
To me it said, in the fine print, I can get both but must activate on t-mobile, sprint or Verizon. Since I'm going at&t I guess not me, huh?
Maybe I should activate on my current Verizon plan first then before switching?

So, you need to:
Buy the device from the 3 US providers outlined above OR any authorized reseller (HTC.com purchases in US seems to be sold by Digital River)
Activate it on the 3 US providers (I assume by installing the SIM card on T-Mo or activating for Spring and VZW)
Submit the form before Sep 18
So I wonder.. How long do I need to be on Verizon to qualify? Certainly interesting if it's an easy $100 but I'd much prefer to be switched over to AT&T sooner than later so maybe I shouldn't mess around..

It seems early adopters are getting shafted as we paid the same and only got a $2 USB cable as "thanks". Now they're giving away $300 in stuff. Never again HTC, never again. I wanted to keep giving them chances, but it seems they don't care.

Early adopters always get shafted. That's what happens. When has a product not decreased in price six months after release?
You can buy a new Nexus 6P for $400 now. Did the people who spent $500+ get shafted?
And I doubt anybody is going to pay $199 for those headphones. Unless the reviews end up being amazing.
Early Adopters are not "shafted".
You got to use a beautiful and fast phone for 3+ months before any of the later adopters got to. You can be a "late adopter" as well and watch while everyone else gets the latest and greatest. Its a small price to pay to be "ahead" of the game.

I agree. I held out till the end of July just to get it cheaper. Sucked waiting but in the end I got it for 50$ US with a two year contract upgrade. I will be never purchasing an LG flagship ever again. HTC has never disappointed me.
