Hi! I'm afraid the Xperia X1, or the Xperia X2... or any phone with less than a snapdragon processor has no chance of Windows Mobile 7 working on it. The hardware won't support it at all. The HD2 will also have trouble running it, but if anything, that's probably the only phone (HD2) out now that will come close to running 7.

that would be sweet if it could be done

Win xp on ours Diamond phones?

I was digging over internet , may is a ported win xp image for ours Diamonds, but ... nothing. Maybe I was not so good to search ... and someone know?

I think there is no xp port for diamond(because the specs of the device itself)

see if you can get a virtual machine for the mobile processor architecture. then emulate an x86 processor and load XP in that.
i'll tell you though it wont be a full xp. and it will be slower than a slow thing.
There are currently no versions of Windows XP which run on the ARM processor, and as recently as 6 weeks ago Microsoft wouldn't comment on any plans to ever do one (see this article http://www.thestandard.com/news/2009/03/13/3-reasons-microsoft-shouldnt-port-windows-arm-processor).
Even if they did, RAM requirements and the amount of disk writes the OS naturally does would make the Diamond REALLY work to offer even a mediocre performance standard.
On the subject of emulation....seriously???? I promise you, you're talking about taking a pretty advanced instruction set (x86) and running it on the arm processor (comparatively a child). It's easy to emulate current ARM processing on your current x86 processor, but it doesn't go the other way. I think I have read that some people have done this on some more powerful test hardware before, but the start-up time alone on your phone will be measured in hours, not minutes. If you seriously think this is worth trying, it's theoretically possible today by loading an ARM-compiled version of linux onto the phone (I seem to remember reading a thread about this a while back) and running something like virtualbox to emulate windows. In 6 months, after the install onto the memory card is complete (remember, phone memory alone will certainly be too small), let me know if it starts.

Xperia X10's interface on hero?

i watched lots of videos about x10 and i want somethin like xperia x10 interface on my hero! does anybody know something about X10's ROM on hero? or some applications (like diler)?
i'd guess you have to wait at least until the x10 is on the market...
the hero will definitelly not have the processing power for the X10 ui, the X10 is running a snapdragon cpu
i think it will work they can develop maybe a lite version of this interface D

i wouldn't hold my breath.
I just want the music player and maybe the dialer app and that is it. Could those work on the Hero or any device without Snapdragon?
i doubt it...were most likely gonna need that cpu to power that ui
Again what about for the music player?

Someone would need to get the source for the proprietary Sony/Ericsson application(s) (good luck with that!) and spend the time adapting it to the Hero hardware (incl. screen res, 480 x 854 Vs 320x480, and Qualcomm 528Mhz Vs Snapdragon 1Ghz). Don't hold your breath. Try Meridian or something. Or buy an X10 when it turns up.
I thought this was going to be a bit easier than what you mentioned, but thanks.

Thats wot all the noobs said when people wanted sence 2.5 on the older devices lol now its as stable as on the HD 2, the biggest problem i can see is that the x10 has a slightly diff resolution ......
X10 Launch
The X10 looks set to launch at the end of Q1 (March) 2010 on Orange UK!
By then Android roms should be fairly universal and "portable", as far as i know there is no excessive memory or hardware spec demand from the X10 version of android but the 1Ghz Snapdragon processor will give it a hell of a boost.... Only time will tell!!

the difference this time is that the X10 uses the 1GHz snapdragon whereas both the hero and the g1 use the MSM720X ARM6 cpu so the X10 has around 3x more cpu power.
Well isn't the HD2 the only device so far with Sense 2.5, and doesn't that also have a 1ghz snapdragon cpu? Unless HTC has the intention for Sense to run their non 1ghz device, I don't see how this is too much different?
Hmm, surely the x3 more cpu power isn't going to be used soley to run a few more UI bells and whistles?
Give it time for the X10 ROM to come out and I'm sure someone will be able to cook something special up for us
Until then we can only speculate on will it / won't it work.

the sense 2.5 on the HD2 is winmo and is already running on non-1GHz phones as its designed to be universal, the X10 interface is designed specifically for the X10 and if noone has seen the videos of the X10, its rather sluggish already with the 1GHz cpu
Valid point, but you also have to remember that the X10 in those videos are still at a beta stage and they are still trying to improve it more, at least that what I keep reading.
Google has an something called an open handset alliance that all the companies making google phones(ie htc samsung sony...) had to sign stating that the software versions are open and portlable to developers. I mean my rom on my touch pro 2 is an hd2 rom thats a snapdragon phone and my tp2 isn't. We'll see the sony interface eventually on other phones the question is will we ever see a smooth one without a snapdragon to back it.

Really??? Are you sure? It's not a joke or a fake? Soooo
The Diamond has a fast CPU: the Qualcomm MSM7201A running at 528MHz
Minimum hardware requirements for Windows Phone 7 :
The minimum requirements for the CPU are 1GHz ... AAARRRGGGHHH!!!!
Is Windows Phone 7 really for phones ?
Even if a port will be made for our Diamond, it will be very slow.

I am not sure about that.
They're saying that it works faster than 6.5
Also, Microsoft requires that 1 Ghz processor so they're sure that there won't be people saying: 'it's laggy'.
Also, in that way they're sure that their software is only running on hardware that's more than enough so they won't be blamed for a laggy OS.
any idea when it would be out in the market?
and that processor requirement is a real setback for me
First phones are planned for October so dont expect it any time soon.

[Q] Help with 3D Drivers

Hi guys!!!
Im older user from HTC mobile, now I buy a new phone more chip, and won a new problems!
Srs., I've looking for features about my mobile (it is Motorola SPICE XT300), and this model only sell in Brazil / Canada / Argentina / Australia (i guess).
Looking in the website (gsmarena) I found the features about my phone, and its is the same about the Wildfire. look:
Android OS, v2.1 (Eclair)
CPU 528 MHz ARM 11 processor, Adreno 200 GPU, Qualcomm MSM7225 chipset
So i heard about this model dont have a drivers for this chipset, cause i dont know, but motorola dont make this drivers. So i hear some people try porting other driver from this chipset in this model but its very very dificult found news about this. I have some helps from neopeek and other forums, here too, about porting this drivers.
So, this driver i guess stay in /system/lib/****.so - my question is, somebody knows how install the 3D driver for this chipset? If i download a CUSTOM ROM here, try to copy/paste in the same location those files could work? Please guys help me, I dont wanna lose my phone but dont wanna use without graphics (by the way its f**king bad do anything, its slow any apps who needs).
So any news about this? anything? some developer could help me? any one?
Thx guys, c ya ...
gsmarena has the specs of the wildfire wrong, it doesn't have a gpu
Pdadb should be better. If you have the msm 7225 then there is no gpu. The best way to check is run nenamark. If it gets 1fps then there is no gpu. If it gets 30-60 fps then there is a gpu
Sent from my GT-P1000 using XDA App
Oh and this should not be in the android dev fourm

this was well known from the start. next time read the information that is available EVERYWHERE before buying it!
Nevertheless, the Wildfire is still a great phone, I'm loving it! Never regret it for a minute.

+1 for that
It's a great phone athough it doesnt have GPU. And i dont know what people expect for such a low price...lol I think there is no better phone for that money.
The ZTE Blade is a better option now however before that was released the Wildfire was very good value.

Seconded. At today's price point, there are much better phones than the Wildfire out there. But, ~6 months back, really, Wildfire was the only option if you wanted a budget Android, which is why, I am a bit disillusioned, but will continue to faithfully stick with my Wildfire.
I agree that now there are better phones in that price range. But look at the time when wildfire is released, almost a year ago and still it can compete. You must agree that even few months is relatively big period not to mention a whole year.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA Premium App
Good value? Yeah, maybe the first days of release, but it didn't take long for alot more valuable phones came along. All HTC phones is overpriced, and now with locked bootloaders, useless. Only reason I got it was becouse, at the time, it was the cheapest with a LED flashlight. If I only waited for the Defy instead, same price-range, but oh so much better phone on ALL fronts.
Ok guys! but the question its not about the wildfire, its is about this Motorola Spice..
So ok, i learn the Wildfire dont have gpu ok ...
So somebody have the nenamark.apk to install ? I just found the .zip file and I dont know how to install this on mobile.
I gonna make the test with this bench, cause if i got more then 1fps i have a gpu .. if not, i dont have and i guess this thread is closed.
Any one know something about this specific model? C ya.

Could it be possible to install/run windows 7 on the HTC Desire Z?
No, never - thank God. Blasphemey!
Sent from a HTC G2
that only possible because that phone is running an intel atom processor. The desire z/g2 is running an ARMv7 processor which contains a completely different set of instructions.... Long story short it is possible to put linux on the phone but it is impossible to put windows7. On the other hand, microsoft mentioned that the next generation of windows will have ARM compatibility so while windows 7 will not work, windows 8(?) might be possible whenever it comes out.
If it really matters, you can always use an RDP app and link to a computer running win7 lol
