Team-Villain ROM Kernel Updates (optional)

For anyone who doesn't look at the VillainROM forums often, I thought I'd post the updated kernels I have made for some of the ROMs.
More to follow, and this is OPTIONAL, and at your own risk. It should fix green camera issue.

This is behnaam's Ben#8 kernel (sorry, I forgot, as I typed this up as i was leaving the house)

Can I use this kernel with VanillaEclair? Or only for Villain stuff only?

Would be nice if u told where the kernel came from

Just tried the Villain 5.5 version on BeHero+1.2........failed.

These are made up ONLY for Villain folks. Sorry It isn't compatible with other ROMs

Don't thank me - thank behnaam. I just repackaged his kernel and module. He is the one who fixed this. I just 'borrowed' it

Anyone managed to get the OC Patch up and running on it?i know benhaam was waiting for toastcfh to pass it over?

Sorry, which ROM are you using? Try pressing menu to unlock?
EDIT: These kernels make games playable, as behnaam has fixed the performance issue when your finger touches the screen tested on benchmark, and mike has tried some games

This rom works on 1024 leo, it may or may not work on 512leo.

-V1.2 you do NOT need to wipe if updating from v1.1.2
-If you have any sugestions for this rom please feel free to post them.
-If you find any problems post some info about it and i will see if i can fix
-there will be updates for this rom soon
-use setcpu ondemand governor for best performance and least lag
-dont forget to back up your currant rom first!

NAND Kernel Open Failed. Did I do something wrong? I followed Directions to the letter. I didn't Backup before flash, oh well no big deal. any Help with what I may have done wrong would be greatly appreciated.

Good to see I am not the only one with problem. At least this means it is less likey I made a mistake. Going to flash back to motos rom for the time being.

ok so the kernel problem should definitally be fixed now,
its also a lot faster now as well

Does this ROM work on EU HD2's?I've tried Motoman and Imilka's Glacier ROM's but wifi showed up as "ERROR"?​

i dont know if this will work on the 512 leo or not. all you can do is try it and see. i would imagine you need to edit the cwm partition layout and reflash it, 300mb system should be enough. as for wifi i dont know why that wouldnt work but i dont have a 512 leo to test and find out.

Nope I still get the same open Kernel error. Anyone else still getting the Open kernel error? Hold up, I think I DLed the wrong file going to download version 1.1.2 and see if that works.

My touch 3g gets froyo sense...possible port?

Think there will still be a camera problem but who knows! ill download it and flash see what happens

is there any dev that took a look at this rom? are the camera drivers compatible?

I have PM'd Hawst (creator of the Tegro rom) to see if it is of any use to him.

To bad Hawst does not have the Hero anylonger, So deving on something like that is bloody hard.

Im trying to port it but getting symlinking errors got to go work now so will continue afterwards

I had a PM back from Hawst. He thinks we will still have HW problems as seen on the other 2.2 sense ports.
still we can live in hope?! I thought the MT3G was fairly similar to the Hero in terms of HW specs?

I have to agrre with hawst, i think the only rom it can be based on is chocolate froyo which still has no working camera.But still be nice to see it work.
MT3G aka Sapphire / Magic is pretty much the same NOT the Slide / Espresso.You can flash Sapphire (32A) roms on your hero and they more than likely boot but have limited hardware working

You sure? I can flash any magic 32a rom on my hero without any porting?

Yes you can with maybe some weird hardware bugs.. Soo my advice, DONT

Yea i wouldnt advise it, i flashed capyseo v7 the other day and it booted but no sound/camera/wifi or network..Im no dev so dont get your hopes up on me porting!

oh well, just trying to keep the hero alive until the Optimus 3D comes out

From what I understand:
a) Hero and Magic have a different camera....
b) The Camera doesn't even work on the magic w/ the capyseo v7 - I assume this one they can fix now that the MyTouch3G got an official sense ROM.

Yea i only flashed it to see if it would boot lol

Right managed to get it to finally flash without errors (WOOP WOOP) but i have no display and had to play with MTD partitions (dodgy) im waiting for firerat to come online so i can ask some Q's about patching mtd before i try anything more risky as i had increased the /system partition to 200 leaving 2mb on cache :/ and 1% space left on /system so untill i can get more i think there is nothing else i can do
On the plus side i managed to release a rom for the espresso lol

Great to hear, i'm still switching between sense 2.1 and stock 2.2, 2.3.
I find the sense interface great, but with 2.1 i missing some options that you have in froyo and gingerbread.

I feel the same but cant put my finger on what i like about sense 2.2?? Maybe that it says 2.2!

wait a few weeks and we'll have a fully working ROM (hopefully), but for now it's just best to leave it unless you want to test it and post results on the spreadsheet they have, saying what you're using, what works/ doesn't etc.. if you have that much spare time on your hands lol

Now the alpha 3.1
Sometimes 3G work very well,but sometimes 3G can't work. But call/sms work very well.
Did other people have the same problem?

Cool hope that we could install ics in the near future ;-)

Hey there. Im using Cm13 on my G928C for 2 days which is originally by RaymanFX then edited by Battlehero(for N920C). What actually has been changed? I have callin issue btw. It gives shutdown. Thanks.

The kernel is based on original g928f source code(but still uses raymanfx and battle hero's base)And I did not have any issues with the calls.The audio quality was terrible both ways I admit but the device never crashed for the specific reason of calling.

Thanks man. Seems CM gives different issues per user. I couldnt make any call, not even linked.. Audio quality is ok for me, i mean its normal but sometimes whilst listening music; glitches for a milisecond when press home button, enter an app etc.. The only thing I miss as a major is calling lol, no need a camera though. So I will try this build, thanks again. :good:

But GMS keeps crashing every time u use a Google app. Ofcourse this isn't a daily driver yet but it was really fun testing it. And, as you say, when it's not crashing it's crazy fast. Looking forward to be testing your builds to come, but for now I have to roll back to the second best: Battleheroe's extreme debloated. I need my phone daytime but in the evenings I will test yours. We really need AOSP on our device. Thanks a million for your work. :good::good::good:

Just wanted to give you a quick update that I managed to get the s view working(mine did not work)and the gapps problem is 30%fixed(yes it was the ROMs fault) I will make an update in the near future so stay tuned for an update!
Did I mention it doesn't crash anymore?

I found a solution to the gapps problem.At the moment no gapps work without any (google play services has stopped) countinous message.And opengapps even sayed that it isnt compatible.It is an easy fix in build.prop but i need just a little more time

Have you tried ''aroma'' labeled gapps? > http://opengapps.org/?api=6.0&variant=nano I flashed it on the other CM13 rom, no crashes(make sure do not select dialer which is changing framework=causes reboot when you call). I was always using 'aroma-gapps', so that makes sense to have less issue for me(No reboot in sms, No issue/reboot music etc).. So logically, it would work with Dash's build too. Havent had time to try, will let you know after a day/tonight.

Opengapps says somethin like download appropriate gapps for your rom.Any other gapps installs but loops google services has stopped.Again the fix is easy but i dont have acces to a pc at the moment.

You have to edit your build.prop in case.. I couldnt flash Xposed with your build, but changed build.prop then flashed. When I try to flash with yours; it says my device is arm, not arm64 etc. I guess it may causes a conflict with Gapps too.

Notification centre is a known issue.Will fix in near future.Also I fixed the gapps problem and will reupload with fixed build.prop
