Brand?.. - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Android Development

I want to use the dualboot of Android, but I don't know what build/brand mine TP2 is. I heard you have different tutorials for different builds/brands.
I'm from The Netherlands (Europe).
We surely have no AT&T over here, so I know its not that one..
Remaining: Sprint/Verizon/CDMA?
I have no logo of Sprint/Verizon/CDMA whatsoever on my mobile device, so I don't know which one it belongs to...
Enlighten me please I want the OS so bad.

this explains?
well im dutch... verizon en sprint is zeg maar een merk zoals t-mobile die touchpro2 heeft gekocht en hun eigenmerknaam onder htc zetten.
je hebt trouwens een GSM en geen cdma

CMDA is a network similair to the GSM network. And because android works from your sd card, you can never brick your phone because u checked cmda

See below........

Okay, Never mind. I've managed to find the website.
But before i go install it on my SD card, which one CAN or SHOULD I choose to install? Which cab?
Android 2.0.1 Eclair
Android Version 2.1 AOSP
Android Version 2.1 w/ Sense UI
Lol, I'm talking to myself here... So I installed Android Version 2.1 AOSP
Problem: Accu is holding it for like 3 minutes and then it dies.

Well, if you take off the back cover of your phone you will see behind the battery which model you have. I have Verizon so it says RHOD500. Yours will be listed in the startup file, or you can check behind the battery (remove the battery) and look for RHODXXX, where the XXX is the phone you have.

PDAVIET B&B V3.7, No GPS SUPPORT?

Great job by TOM, Thanks, but I found some bugs, perhaps just for my device original M650:
I installed TOMTOM 6.030, which worked fine on B&B V3. Now TOMTOM can not find GPS peripheric, can not select com port (screen just blocked). I want to know it just happens to me or others meet the same problem?
lol
Isn't you yesterday that said HTC P3300 and M650 are simillar ??!!
Well, you can see now that's not true !!!
So before to make any comment on the jobs of others, please verify your information !!!
GPS of the M650 and the HTC P3300 aren't the same !!
Ahhhh, now I see! I guess reading this thread was too much trouble?
How you explain my M650 worked very well with B&B V3?; and it worked well also on HTC WWE WM6?
Now I'm back to P800W WWE WM6. Everything is ok, but I really want B&B UI.
But why ignore that so many others did have trouble with M650's and found a solution. The M650 is supposed to use the a-GPS system.
Did you try the solution highlighted in the thread linked above to get B&B 3.7 to work with your a-GPS system?
Well, in fact kulbutor have found the solution, the rom have to be recooked to include the correct driver...

hi gajet! i'm sorry for asking, and i may really just be stupid but.... i don't find the highlighted solution in the thread? please, can you help me out? because at first i thought that the solution mentioned in that thread is for b&b v3 only? i used the link given by kulbutor in the adinitum. but that is for v3 only, am i right?
but how about for v3.7? how do i make my gps working? i don't mind a-gps like boiuo, as long as my gps is working.
thanks a lot for your help!!!
I'm not the best person to ask as;
1, I don't own an M650, I have a HTC Hero
2, My french isn't good enough to actually read the linked thread.
There clearly is a linked file, which would be a WM6 patch rather than specifically for B&B 3, I would expect the patch to work equally as well in B&B 3.7
aje_fr Is probably a better person to ask.
Le GPS ne marche pas sur la v3.7.... Même avec le patch que viens de faire Kulbutor....
Il marche au début mais après un soft reset, plus rien...

micro SDHC in Artemis/P3300/Orbit

Hi all
I have an Orbit from O2 and would like to use a 4GB micro SDHC card
It seems though that this is not supported with the below ROM set!
Is there a way to use 'HC' type SD cards without going though the whole system ROM upgrade route?
This Orbit is still new and I am concerned about breaking warranty if I go with a new ROM upgrade
Regards
ROM Version: 3.4.206.2.WWE
ROM Date: 4/18/07
Radio Version: 02.67.90
Protocol Version: 4.1.13.28
ExtROM Version: 3.4.206.101
Well there is a SDHC driver Cab which can be found here....
OK I didnt found the Link to the original thread so I provide the driver Cabs i used. Youll find them attached.
Just Install the SDHC-driver.cab to your device - then SOFTRESET - and you are done.
In the zip file you'll find a Cab included which installs the old Drivers back to your device. There should be no harm done to your P3300 by those SDHC-drivers.

Many thanks ........ !!
But do you know if these work with WM5?
Kind Regards

Im not quite sure, but it should. Maybe someone else could confirm that? Im using WM6 .... and this works a 100%

Unfortunately still no definitive answer on WM5 though. Shame, I could really do with using something bigger than 2Gb.

2.2-upgrade in The Netherlands?

According to androidplanet.nl, the 2.2-upgrade should be available in The Netherlands and some say they have gotten it. But when I go to System Updates, it says that everything is up-to-date (2.1). Where is the 2.2-upgrade?
anybody to confirm this?
As far as I know the Defy is officially not released in the Netherlands. I think my defy is officially a France one.

Yes it is officially released here. The official Dutch version is sold at belsimpel.nl, Expansys and Media Markt. The Motorola-website also lists the Dutch version at the Defy-page.
Strange, when I send my defy to Rijswijk for a hardware problem, they send it to France because they didn't support the Defy.
According to the Motorola site Froyo is being rolled out in selected countries. The do not say which ones. But if I look at the Dutch software update site, the Defy isn't listed. So I think the Netherlands is not on of the 'selected countries' yet.
Weird that androidplanet.nl said it was and some users reported it.
But they do support the Defy in The Netherlands, so I dunno what the problem with yours was.
The internal speaker was broken. For some reason they send it to France to get fixed. This is what they told me (in Dutch)

I think "support" is relative term here, where Motorola does not have official representation in The Netherlands but rather let the retail chains figure it out with service points in surrounding countries.
I'm pretty sure mine is a German retail. System version:
Blur_Version.2.51.1.MB525.Retail.en.DE
I think the DE there means Deutsch (=German). What versions do you guys have?
I haven't received an update either by the way.
I'm living in the Netherlands. My husband has a french version, which we were able to update with the Motorola Software Update. I do have the german version (.DE) and did not update with MSU. But because I nearly bricked my phone, I flashed the french .sbf (2.51.0, then updated with MSU, lost connection during the update, tried to reflash 2.51.0 which failed and finaly flashed the 3.4.2-164 from this topic) and now my defy is running smoothly, 48 hours with my normal use before getting the 15% battery warning
The version here is Blur_Version.2.51.1.MB525.Retail.nl.NL
So, you have a real Dutch one. Guess you have to wait for the Dutch roll out. Just as Androidplanet stated.
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
Well, Androidplanet said it was rolling out here.

So I'me afraid you'll have to have a little (more) patience.
And that's what they said a while ago. But ah well, guess I'll have to wait then, or is there any other way to get it without flashing a ROM?
You can always try to update via the Motorola site
If you can get me Windows

But the first link doesn't help at all. He notes the Blurless devices, but mine does have Blur, so I dunno what to do in that case. I was reading about installing the leaked 2.3.3, but I want a usable camera (those other small bugs, I don't care about them).
But I'll guess I'll have to wait then, thanks anyway
@wout: No problem

[Q] Android Market - Restricted market

Hi,
Firstable I just say that my language is french, please be indulgent with me and my english.
I have install the Cyanogen mod7 RC0 on my Motorola Defy. Installation was OK, but during the time I configure my phone I observe that the market is not complete, many applications doesn't appear.
For exemple I can't make the Google Books update, the market says "Application not found". I can't find for example "PES2011", "live365", "mobisle note".
With the official ROM Froyo2.2 I can found this apps. My Defy is not locked for an special apperator. I use Swisscom (Switzerland). My baseband is right configured.
I tried to reinstall the Rom one 2 times (1x RC0, 1x the last Nightly), but it doesn't do anything.
I despair. I want to use this Cyanogen because is better than the official rom.
P.S. Sorry for my approximatly english

Salut !

PS pour jeremstyle: ton anglais est pas trop mal

Hi !
You must have a problem with your build.prop file... I've got the same problem with an old cyanogenmod. I waited for a new fixed version. Is everything working on the official one ?
PS for jeremstyle: your english isn't too bad
Thanks all for the answers.

I doesn't have this problem with the official ROM (2.1 or 2.2 was all right). I think you have right, I wait for a new fix version.

Yep, the ROM's fingerprint in build.prop file must be wrong.
How is it possible that build.prop is wrong or corrupted, I doesn't modify the market or anything on my phone, jsut install the rom and the gapps.
A member on a french forum (frandroid) say that the problem come frome Google. Google has not validate some application for the 2.3 and they also doesn't appear int the market for 2.3 users. Is it possible?
install market enabler (available from market) and change it to another country carrier. most stuffs can be gotten from T-Mobile US or Verizon US. certain apps are country specific, so can only be installed/updated for that country

As far as I know, there are so called protected apps, which are only shown in the Market when an official, approved ROM is used. There were patches for leaked froyo versions to show all the Market items.
As the original posts says the problem is related to CM7, and there's no issue with official ROM. For example I didn't see some applications with Nordic froyo, but now with the official CEE these apps are not hidden anymore.

Same here. I've flashed several Nightlies and nothing... Apps like Quadrant or Milestone overclock aren't showing in Market.
I'm using CM7 on Defy, using as base ROM Nordic 177-005. I'm going to get back to Nordic, just to see if the apps get back into Market.
PS: Sorry about my english, I'm a spaniard.
I can't see PES2011 on CM_RC1 :-(
It was there with RC0
Please help, it's my fav app!
You can try the app market enabler frome the market. It fakes a provider to access more apps. try a us-provider
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
i had the same problem with one of the custom froyo roms..apps that i could install before said "not compatible with your device"the only way i cured it was to install an official 2.2.2
Yes I'm not sure there is much that can be done. Konami are not recognizing the phone's software version and are not letting me download. Switching regions with market enabler, clearing caches, undoing market updates all to no avail.
I know that if I revert to CM_RC0 it works. Also official froyo works. Looks to me that the RC0 and RC1 have some differences in their build.prop files, eg
RC0 v RC1
ro.product.name=MB525_RTNORD v ro.product.name=MB525_RTGB
ro.build.fingerprint=MOTO/MB525_RTNORD/umts_jordan/jordan:2.3.4/3.4.2-177/1306766666:user/release-keys v ro.build.fingerprint=MOTO/MB525_RTGB/umts_jordan/jordan:2.3.4/3.4.2-179/1309229566:user/release-keys
I'm guessing that this is related to the problem. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks,
Olly
Same issue here... I think i'm on Beta6, not really shure... Was the last release before RC0.
Looks like we'll have to wait until the next release :-(
Olly
Some apps are not available because the android (ROM) must be signed by a producer (ex. HTC, Motorola, Samsung), and the Cyanogen isn't!
For PES and other apps, you can download the installer on google search for example pes.apk but you must buy the game, if you don't do the purchasing you will have an error: "Not valid license" or a message like this.
same here, using 07/29 nightly...market enabler DON'T WORK...

Installing gapps-20110729 from nightly page solve the problem for me...
You have to try this:
ro.build.fingerprint=MOTO/MB525_RTCEE/umts_jordan/jordan:2.2.2/3.4.2-179/1304670482:user/release-keys
or any other from official Froyo.
Works very well for me

[Q] Coded Defy Orange Fr

Hello!
My friend buys recently a defy in France with orange label and it seems coded because he cannot use another sim (he is in africa). I want to know if flash with rsd lite with a naked retail fr can resolve his problem.
Thanks for the help
Non, je pense qu'il va devoir demander une clé de désimlockage a Orange FR, mais ca va etre payant si ca fais moins de 3 mois qu'il est chez eux...
Sent from my MB525
I think if you flash cm7 it is what yo can call softunlocked. There was something about mound fake partitions in bootmenu. Search google for "softunlock".
Sent from my MB525
I would definitely root the phone, install 2ndinit, make a nandroid backup of his stock rom and then install CM7.
That way, he will have his answer, a way to go back to stock state for warranty purpose AND the best rom to have on his phone.
Bonne chance et bien du plaisir avec son Defy.
Defy is a good phone. I have a naked french defy for a year and recommended defy+ to him but unfortunately he buys a coded defy (with android eclair). He buys it last week.
According cm7, I tried it but it uses more data and battery than my froyo. After cm7, can he use my froyo backup?
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
I just read today that custom recovery will not work (can't read from sd card) on Eclair
So your friend will have to use rsd to flash a froyo sbf before going any further.
Cheers
MB525 soft unlock
I have a MB525 from T-mobile Austria with cm7 and soft unlocked. It works great, but what I noticed is a slightly low battery life.
