Splash Screen Issue - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Can someone please help me. I have a T-Mobile Branded TP2. I always used ENERGY Rom and I have used to get rid of that dumb t-mobile splash screen. Now I need to send my phone back to T-Mobile for warranty and I cannot fully get my splash screen back.
I have used the various T-Mobile splash screens avail from this forum, and what keeps happening is the very first screen is fine, then when the Radio and Rom information shows it's the changed splash then it goes back to the t-mobile boot up animation.
I have tried flashing different roms with splash screens I tasked 29 a couple times, but that radio version screen wont change back to the t-mobile likes it has in the past.

No it does not. It normally does and I tried it a few times, with no luck

The official T-Mobile rom should do it, i have done it a few times already, but if is not working, here you go...

Thanks, Tried that already, and again. Still the same thing. It's really weird that it's only the Radio/Rom info screen that does it.

Haha I had to do this too, don't freak out.
Ok first you have to download the stock 6.5 ROM from T-Mobile first. Use your IMEI and get it.
Flash that ROM and you will get your splash screen back. If you want to change that rom into 6.1, you can search around the forums to find it.
Then after that its pretty simple, change radio, and SPL, and your done!

I have tried re-installing the t-mobile ROM several times with no positive results

Can you just follow the instructions here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=576703
And use a copy of the T-Mobile splash screen?

Are you sure you have tired it with the STOCK 6.5 T-Mobile ROM, 6.1 on the forums doesn't change the splash screen.

Yes I am Positive, Downloaded it Directly from the T-Mobile wmupgrade site.
Like I said its weird because it looks like it changes the first part of the Splash because when you first turn it on you see the "Stick Together" logo, then it goes to the original TP2 logo when it displays the Radio and ROM Version, then it changes into the Tmobile animation.

Ok so I solved my Issue.
The TP2 I have now was a recent replacement from T-Mobile. I noticed that they had changed the Home key to a Key with the Windows Logo. So it gave me an Idea that maybe they changed the way the Splash Screens work as well. So after some research on this site I noticed that CDMA TP2's need 2 splash.np files. So I created 2 with the logo, and packaged them in a nbh file, and "BAM" all was good.
I have attached the nbh I created in case anyone else runs into this issue in the future.
Thank you everyone for your help!

I've been looking at this over on the HD2 sub-forum. the splash screen is 2 pics, not 1. the first that appears right away & then the one that appears when the ROM info is displayed.

I am attaching the .nbh file that will put in the screen 2. Screen 1 and the animated screen are restored by the stock software install. The 24 bit BMP file is in the zip as well.

Thanks for posting another one, Not sure what was up but my zip didn't have a password.

I have the same issue... except with AT&T!
I have the same exact issue you were having, except I have AT&T. Does anyone have a .nbh to put the correct AT&T splash screen on (when the numbers show at the bottom of the screen during bootup)? Or does anybody have at least the correct image file, or have a slight idea of what to do so I can try to figure it out?

Yep you need to flash a new rom because as far as I know thats the only way it can be changed since its written at the same time as the ROM. Tom's B&Bv3 has just changed mine from the o2 default to the HTC logo, ask him how he did it but I'm pretty sure you need a new ROM with the logo of your choice embedded.
PS: Don't think you can do the log seperately either but I'm sure a more knowledgable person will be along shortly

Totally not going for me.. just upgraded to wm6 and the new activesync... maybe that's the reason?
There was a way I heard of using the RUU and replacing a file with the new image you wanted for splash...
"Perhaps you should look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=12898.
There is a great program on there for converting pictures to .nb files and also a CAB which, when run, will change the boot images.
This does require putting the splash1.nb and splash2.nb files into the /windows/ directory before running MDA3_bootimage_changer2.CAB,
but if you want to just run a CAB file you can just edit that CAB and place your own created splash1.nb and splash2.nb files
in it with the location set as /windows/ (I tried it with WinCE CAB Manager and this way works as well)."

It does depend on the rom, B&B v1 & 2 didn't update my boot screen but v3 did so maybe you've got an old version? Are you actually using the B&B rom at all? Not all rom updates change the boot screen, it depends on the chef if they include em in the first place

B&B? Did i miss something?
Tried two ways:
1: making the splash1 and splash2
2: tried RUU updating the splash, but fails, think it's the new activesync.
Did i mention that i'm trying this on a htc p3300?
Sorry, B&B is Black & Blue. Its the ROM that Tom Codon has been releasing and updating for the P3300\Artemis\Orbit.

Pretty Much Bricked (please Help!!!)

Hey guys. I really , really , really, (can't emphasize that enough), need your help. I flashed my Vogue about a week ago with the 19588 ROM using PPC Geeks Kitchen.
I ended up having to do a warranty exchange because my volume button came a little loose. Well, I went to Flash back to the Stock Alltel ROM, the one that is on the HTC site, thats linked on this page, the one I always use, and now I'm screwed.
It makes it to 43 percent and says theres a communication error. The really weird thing is, I can flash any other ROM to the phone, just not the Alltel ROM. Below , I've listed what I've tried, so you get an Idea. I'm beggin you to help me out here.
*I started out with CokeMan 2.31 , and the 19588 Cooked PPCGeeks Kitchen ROM.
*After the first 5 failed attempt to flash the Alltel ROM, I flashed CokeMan v0.41, and then flashed Mustangs Clean ROM w/o GPS. (this is when I figured out other ROM's will work)
*I re-downloaded the Alltel ROM from HTC's website 6 times, and have tried it on three separate computers and no luck.
*I tried almost ten different ROM's , and each time tried flashing the Alltel ROM afterwords.
*I extracted the Alltel ROM to a folder. Downloaded a blank RUU folder. Copied all of the files from the alltel folder to the RUU folder. (All of the files that were in the Alltel Folder, and not in the RUU folder.) It actually flashed all the way thru, but is now stuck at the HTC screen, and says NO RADIO at the bottom. I just stopped trying, and now am turning to the PPC Gods, you guys. SO PLEASE HELP ME OUT. I have to sent the thing back by monday, or they charge me.
I've always been able to flash to the Alltel ROM from and ROM i've ever used, and never had this trouble before in my PPC life. It always just relocks the phone.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!
flash using the sd card
Sounds like you've flashed the f*** out of that phone, suprised it didn't overheat ! Anyways, try the SD method. Also, what radios have you been adding on, or originated with on the ROM you had when you first started.
Also, I'll be quite honest, if I had to return the phone for any reason and couldn't flash back, I'd probably break it to pieces and say it was run over!
how to use SD anyone? please? ive never tried
does it really matter what ROM is on there ...if your having a button problem? You obviously didn't cause the issue because of the ROM.

1. Format your MicroSD card to FAT32 (YES - FAT 32 32 32!! not just plain old FAT) (again, this is not required if your card is already fat32; it is ok to have other data on the card). I have read that the card needs to be 2gb or smaller, though I'm not sure how much truth, if any, there is to that...
2. Extract the .NBH you desire to flash from the exe or zip or w/e put it on the microsd card rename it from RUU_signed.nbh to VOGUIMG.NBH
3.Put the MicroSD card in your phone and Get To the BOOTLOADER screen (camer+power+reset) it should then start updating with the .NBH on the SD card and the procedure should begin automatically.
quoted from here: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=17473
and also, like the champ said, what radios have you flashed?
EDIT: and, which alltel rom are you trying to flash? if you were reverting back to a non-gps/lower radio rom, you did make sure to downgrade the spl properly using these instructions here correct?

If you can't flash it, make sure to make it so it can't even start up... you need to completely brick it so it can't get to the bootloader, just not even turn on. Then you can blame HTC and get a new one

Well that sounds like a horrible idea! Lol I mean if it has to be done then yeah just go to a GPS ROM and then flash back and it will brick and you can send it in if you have TEP from Sprint or something.. But first I think he wants to FIX the phone not destroy it and start over
My touch is also bricked. It boots to the Sprint logo and stops there.
What do you mean a button problem.
My Touch's green and red buttons stopped working before updating. But the phone still worked. After updating the ROM, even the phone stop working.
Could you please elaborate on this?

HTC Evo logo on boot

So, I'm attempting to create a custom bootscreen for my EVO, and was trying to find out if anyone knew how to get a copy of the initial "htc EVO" logo with white background that comes up? I've gone through the file system a few times, but haven't managed to find anything in there (and I've read from other phones that it's some strange hidden file that can be changed, but I'm not looking to change it, merely to a copy of it in a readable format to incorporate it into my own bootscreen animation). Is it hard coded into the phone itself somewhere magically? Any help would be great.

Yeah, that makes sense. I managed to find instructions on how to change it here:
source.android.com/porting/customization.html
But that's not necessarily so helpful in getting my hands on the original image.
It's the splash in the Rom.zip I believe. Or like said above it part of the bootloader

2 years and that question is still not answered.
Still curious.

Oh NO! What have I done. Created Goldcard, Rooted Desire, now am network locked?!

Ok,
I think I'm in trouble here. I got a HTC Desire a couple of days ago from Orange. I promised I wouldn't mess with my phone this time, new OS (I had custom ROMS on touch HD, Kaisers, etc) but thought I'd leave this alone. Just wanted some stablity.
But then Orange went and stuffed their Desire full of crap and after reading lots I thought, well I've done it WM phones, and others seem to do okay so here goes.
Made the Goldcard. following the instructions for rooting. Everything seemed to go well until....
I turn the phone on, hmm, yep it's different, no Orange splash screen, different sound (before I had no start up sound). HTC, green on white shows....a second....locked screen.
"Network Locked - Please contact customer care". I unlock the screen by sliding down and am faced with:
"SIM network unlock PIN".
What have I done? Can I get phone back? Is it my SIM?
Any ideas or help? Should I start at the beginning? or anyone know where it went wrong?
All help galdy received.
Cheers

Yep, it's your radio needs downgraded. Just remember that radio flashes go through 2 reboots, and under no circumastances interrupt the radio flash by removing the battery if you think it's taking too long or whatever.
Either that, or just network unlock your phone. I gave up re-flashing radio roms whilst testing, just to use my phone.
Don't bother speaking to Orange, they're about as usefull as a chocolate fireguard.
So did this fix ur issue?
I'm also planning to get a black Orange HTC Desire from uk.
Yes it fixes the issue, Orange only allow that radio I mentioned to be used on their network atm. I, myself and many others had this problem when debranding.

Wow, so maybe not so bad as I thought!. Now, I just have to copy over the radio zip file to the micro SD card, and follow the instructions. Thanks for your swift repies.

Ah, you're stars! NEver knew about the radio problem with Orange.
So, all sorted. A shiny lovely Desire, with none of the Orange crap - and it was loads. the thing that really irritated me was that they didn't even give you the option to uninstall the game demos. A feel a bit freer, and a lot less stressed.

T-mobile stock rom boot screen annoying "Stick Together"

Hey everybody, I just recently bought a T-mobile touch pro 2 and I have to say, I love it.
Now, I switched ROM's and I did really enjoy it but I was receiving alot of issuse so I switched back and don't plan on changing again. But what I don't like is how every time I turn it on I get an annoying "Stick together" screen staring me in the face because of the t-mobile wm 6.5 stock rom.
Does anyone have any suggestion of what I could do to replace that with something alittle more stylish than a big pink square? haha
Oh, before I forget, I also uploaded Wajk's BootPackage v1.4 and I love it, but when it gets passed the diagnosis of the phone shouldn't it show the windows 7 boot? I'm just getting the standard Orange Microsoft one for WM 6.5. I was planning on doing a reg hack, but I didn't want to screw anything up. If anyone had any ideas on how to change these two settings I would greatly appreciate it.

All I did to get rid of my "Stick Together" boot screen and turn it into a black "Touch Pro2" screen was flash a WWE stock ROM. These stock ROMs replace boot screens and radio-roms.

All I did was flash the WWE stock ROM then flash a custom ROM. You don't need to stay on a stock ROM.
That is confusing! You don't want to replace the stock ROM, yet you want to get rid of it?
If you want a custom bootscreen (like what I have on both of my devices), here's my tutorial.
Thank you very much for that link! It was extremely helpful! I haven't tried anything out yet but I'm sure it will work. Thank you again, this will be a great birthday gift to me haha

I think the OP is talking about the first and second level splash screens (right at boot and the "R G D" info screen).

No, the OP is referring to the Startup animation and the shutdown animation. That does solve one problem, but it still doesn's remove the beginning huge pink "Stick Together" square. I don't know where that would be located in registry but the other two images (Startup.gif and shutdown.gif) are located there.

Whoops haha I didn't realize that I was the OP hahaha! XD Yeah, that's exactly what I'm talking about. Sorry, again, it's kinda late here and I know my mind doesn't usually think well too late haha
Does anyone know how to do it without HardSPL? I actually used it before and I don't really have the money to pay fod another use, seeing as I have no job haha

You mean you already used the stock SPL restore? If you did, I don't know how to get around it...
You need HSPL to flash the custom splash screens because they're unofficial/unsigned.

When I went into this tutorial and tried to open the "Flasing tools" It worked fine, but when I tried to execute the custom ROM that was in there, my virus protection said it was infected with a trojan virus. Any idea why it won't work for me?

Are you talking about the "Rhodium RUU"? If so, that's a common issue with anti-virus software. I have to temporarily disable by McAfee security, unzip the file, obtain the RUU, and flash. Once I re-enable my anti-virus software, it detects the RUU as a trojan. So, you will have to either make an exception, or you will have to temporarily disable your anti-virus software.
Here is the "Touch Pro 2".nbh file I came upon If you could make the second one I would greatly appreciate it. By the way, do you know how you turn on the phone and after the boot the big orange screen pops up and says "Windows" do you happen to know how to replace that as well?
That's welcomehead.192.png in the SYS. Search and replace.

Here you go!
For the orange "Windows" screen, I have a question: is it animated, or is it just a solid image?
If it's animated, I can PM you a .cab that can change it to the Windows 7 startup screen; otherwise, you can replace those with .gif files. If it's a solid image, you'll have to replace either the "welcomehead.png" or the "welcomehead.192.png" (I think the name depends on whether or not you're on a stock/custom ROM) in your phone's \Windows folder.
I remember there being a setting in Advanced Configuration Tool that lets you change these two, but I'm not sure.
Thank you very much for the files! I'll try and scrape up some money to use the HSPL, I figured out how to remove the orange "windows" screen, oddly enough I had both the welcomehead.png and welcomehead.192.png in my windows folder, I just used total commander and switched the image with another one of my choice, thanks for the help guys
Hard SPL should let you re-install it if its for the same IMEI number, had the same problem and it let me re-install onto the same handset. Only problem is if you have a new IMEI. Also you will be charged if you use the same IP address to re-install it. If you change the service provided IP then no problem... Or use a mates PC if they don't mind....

Yeah, that's the problem, I do have a new IMEI because my older phone got damaged so I returned it and got a new one, but do you think it's possible if I download Hard-SPL off of my phone and then execute it off of my computer? Or do you think I could just disconnect my Ethernet cable so the program can't detect if it's already been used or not? I mean, it could be possible yes?
