made a mistake using mtty - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV ROM Development

Whilst reflashing my diamond touch with a new rom at the stage where you disconnect and hold vol down and back button to start the rom off I had the back off and the battery fell out. Now if I do the above it comes up saying no image found then says trigger usb host and red flash saying usb retry enter usb. Have I meesed my phone up or is there a way to get the image back any help will be welcomed. I can still connect via mtty but the device doesn't come up in my computer anymore or wont connect via active sync.

dont worry .. nothing is lost
bring up the phone in bootloader .. vol down reset
connect the usb cable, on screen should write USB (instead of serial)
and now just run the customRUU.exe file that is usualy in archive you downloaded the rom, and just follow the instruciotions.
(like you are flashing without mtty! from computer)

hi man, have you tryed to reinstall drivers ? i don't know what happends to your phone but i'm really sad for you hope it's nothing That can seriously damage it so if i was you, i'll try to reinstall all drivers and use mtty from the 1st step, may be it will work. feed beck plz

yes..youre right..i did the same thing, after i've mtty (after type task 8), i forgot to initiate ROM flash and did hard reset+clear memory, so the image (diamimg.nbh) in movinand memory is erased.
So, we still can flash with custom RUU. bring your device in bootloader, you will see serial mode change into usb, then execute custom RUU.exe. follow the instruction.. but make sure your battery is enough..
Hope it help you..

Thanxs Vicai, did as your post recommended and working fine now, thanxs for the quick response

i780 ROM flashing problem

When I try to flash a new ROM using the Mirage updater, after I connect the phone to the usb cable, Mirage show me the message " PDA Device not found". I have installed all samsung modem drivers, i have no firewall or antivirus program and still does not work to flash a new ROM. This behaviour appeared after I flashed the i780_DXHC4_Rev12 ROM. If anybody had this problem, please advice me what to do next. thanks
no experts here?
no this happen. Are you using XP?
First and only time when I succeded to flash the ROM (DXHC4 version), it was on win2k3 standard..Since then, I have tried to flash the ROM on various OS ( vista, xp, win2k3, win2k8..) with the same result each time: "PDA Device not found"...
Make sure to connect the phone to the USB cable when the phone is completely OFF. (take out battery and put it back in)
with the turned out phone connected to the cable, press DETECT,
and only then power up your phone.
I know some instructions tell you to go into bootloader mode, but I found that this is enough to successfully flash my device.
Make sure you run on XP and not on Vista.
Hope this helps.
thank you for your advice..unfortunately, it does not work also..after I press Detect and turn on the phone, Mirage send me the same message: "PDA Device not found"...if you can help me with other instructions, i would appreciate

Does your device succeed in connecting to the computer using ActiveSync?
Try disabling ActiveSync USB connection or altogether.
If you only want to install the PDA part try removing the USB modem drivers,
you don't need them for PDA only.
Try a different USB port maybe, Or maybe another cable.
I'm at a loss here...
Hi on this forum too!
You need to already have an active activesync relationship with the device.
I can make file transfer and PC sync with the phone.
I tried every USB port to flash the phone. But nothing works, only 'PDA Device not found' message. I think there is no solution for this problem...

u have to load the modem driver which is for i600... i had the same issue but as soon as u load the modem driver it works fine..
and u have to take out the batt and put back the batt then hold enter and Fn button while u press the power button.. and hold till the device is booted in emergency mode... then connect your USB cable..
nothing works...
Try to update your usb drivers...
gOOndu is right you must have the correct USB driver to recognize your phone. This is not the modem driver. You can test this by disabling Active sync USB connections and plugin your phone. If it has the right driver it should state hardware found (name of your device) and then hardware installed and ready for use. If you get a hardware not recognized then the driver is not correct.
Hope this helps you.
The problem is not with the OS drivers, which recognizes my hardware device. Also, I am able to make transfers from the device to the desktop and viceversa. The problem is with the Mirrage Updater, after I press Detect and plug in the device, it can not see my pda anymore ( PDA Device not found message). The only time when I was able to flash my device ( with Mirrage) was when I upgraded to DXHC4 version. Since then, Mirrage can not find my pda anymore, altough I use the same (operating) system as when I succesfully flashed DXHC4...

Hi guys,
I am trying to flash a ROM following the steps in the first post of http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=388067 . I tried on Windows XP, Vista, 7 without any positive results. I installed the Samsung i600 drivers, started mirage, loaded the bin file in the PDA section, pressed detect, started the device using Fn+Enter+ON key, but mirage kept saying "PDA device not found". I tried the above steps in different orders,no luck whatsoever. I have the following 2 questions:
1. booting the phone in DETECT mode means that you get the message "Emergency mode - You must push Detect BUtton of the download application befor you connect the usb port".
2. Do you have another STEP-BY-STEP guide on how to do this? Or is there another tool besides Mirage (which in my opinion is quite old)?
Thanks a million.
Which USB connection do you use? Front panel? Use one which is connected directly to the mainboard (on the back).
There is an i780 flashing guide available. I cannot find (or post) the direct link but it acknowledges this original post.
I spent several hours at the weekend trying to find a way of flashing my phone including installing virtual PC, etc, etc.
Eventually I found this to my relief and it worked for me in Win7:

you need to put the file from your PC to internal storage - you can do this via bluetooth OR if you can connect the phone as disk drive...

sorry for not doing 'homework'.
Anyway, according to the 2nd link you gave me, i followed all the instructions and 'suiller's instruction', i still couldnt flash it, the screen keeps showing 'image not found' and ' triggering USB host'. while my phone did not connect to my pc
here you are
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3435475&postcount=71
Extract the RUU_Diamond_HTC_Ship.exe file to a new directory on your PC
Find the RUU_signed.nbh file in this new directory and rename it to Diamimg.nbh
Copy Diamimg.nbh to the root of Internal Storage
Hold in the volume down button + the back button (thats the top right button on the front to the right of the big middle jog control) + soft reset
Follow instructions on screen
When the process is complete (it will say UPDATE SUCCESS) then reset

ok first of all... we need to make sure u have HARD SPL... for that, you need to connect to computer...
try this to make sure it's not a USB cable or port issue...
remove any cable
go to bootloader "enter Bootloader by pushing the red reset button (on the back) while holding volume down key on the side"
you will see some a tri-color screen... and it will read Serial at the bottom... NOW connect USB to computer and wait for a minute and two... the "SERIAL" should now read "USB"...
if this works... then keep the phone connected and follow the HARDSPL instructions from :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416211
first post, Section A
if it does not change to "USB" then it's a port / cable issue... try another cable or a diffirent port on your computer...

bricked s8500, please help me.

Hello, I have bricked my S8500. I can go to the download menu. The problem is that I can't install properly USB drivers , or maybe it is USB cable that is wrong, the USB cable is from nokia and model is : CA101. So the problem is that when I go to the Download menu my computer detects all the drivers and everything is alright... And when I hit download I get this.

BootLoader 1703.9KB OK[0.7s]
Dbl 281.5KB OK[0.8s]
Wait reset !!
Serial port detect error!
And after Wait reset my computer just didn't recognize my phone anymore, and that's why it has been bricked at the begining. Could anyone please help me? I tried different USB drivers, different PC. Nothing helps :{{{ Please guys, help me.
Maybe it is because my USB cable isn't from original wave, or no?

I too use Nokia table to flash my samsung wave. If your phone was able to connect to Kies prior to flashing there should be no issues.
When you flash for 1st time you always get that error. Pls try once again and you shd not face any issues.

No, I wasn't able to connect to kies. I got a USB cable from original xperia x10, still same issue... Can someone tell me what to do? I downloaded a lot of drivers, but maybe there is some special driver? :/
The problem usually goes away for me when flashing from a freshly booted pc, so try restarting one of your computers for flashing and try again.
Have done that too... Any advice? :/
Hello!
First kill all Kies Processes (in the Task Manager)
Second launch Multiloader and try to flash
When it says Serial Error, just do Port Search again, and it should work

Just after this message, without quit Multiloader:
Phone on DOWNLOAD MODE try this:
Uncheck Boot, unplug USB Cable from Phone and Plug it again, You will see Download actived in Multiloader, Just clic on DOWNLOAD. And your Flashing will be continued....

Same thing happened to me. After this, you shouldn't disconnect you wave, but to wait, and click search port again. If there is no port again, tru with different multiloader (mine was v5.65), and there is again same problem, try with another computer with preinstalled USB drivers.
The good thing is that your phone still enters boot mode. If it wasn't the case, then it would be a total brick.
Best regards

No, you didn't understand this flashing process. Most important thing here is to avoid interrupting of connection between computer and phone, even in serial port error. You need to search port again, or to change things that I mentioned above.
You hit download, then bootloader is loaded. It is absolutely normal in this algorithym to reset phone (wait reset). Then our error appears in port error. That is the time when you should click port search again, and when it finds it again (it will) click download button. Thats how it was in my case already 4 times.. Hope I helped.
Best regards
I have told that I reinstalled a lot of drivers and tried different PC's, nothing helps. I tried about 3 or 4 versions of multiloader still same result :/ I don't know what to do anymore... Please any advices? Maybe someone had the same issue?
I don't really know what happened. We switched our cables with my friend again, and I tried to flash with Nokia cable. And everything went okay for the 1 time. No errors, no nothing, no Unknown USB device problem. This is really strange. Thank you for you help friends :}

Just installed "S8500-Driver-V5_02_0_0" now it's working since I wanted to flashback my friend's Wave from Bada2 to v1

help did I brick my phone?

All,
I have a big problem. When I try to start my phone I get the black screen with google and the unlocked padloack, after which the screen goes dark and nothing happens anymore.
What I did before this are two things. I had been mukking around with the screen resolution (I had it set at 240 and 280, as some apps did not show up in the market) also downloaded LCD density to solve the market issue.
I then rebooted the device and entered CWM to do a backup which as far as I knew succeeded. unfortunately after rebooting, see the above.
I have tried a couple of reboots, tried restoring the nandroid (the above was the only one I had). that didn't work, so tried to connect to the PC to load a new ICS rom (original 4.0.4 by google), unfortunately my device can not go into USB mode in CMW (it comes up with UMS lunfile missing....)
so I am woring in circles. can't start the device to download a rom, can't open USM to load a ROM to start the device again.....
any help would be appriciated
thanks
Patrick
hey
flash a new ROM via fastboot then, there are enough guides
-Syn
Edit: Alternatively, flash the stock Google ROM via GNex toolkit and go from scratch.
as mentioned, I can't get a rom on the phone so that I can flash it.
I can't start the phone to donwload one, and can't connect it to usb to get one on the storage....
sorry, you mentioned fastboot.... not USB.
so connect it to usb cable. I then entered fastboot devices, no number came up, as was also the case with ADB. thinkin I might not have the correct USB drivers for my windows machine. any idea where to get teh correct one?

To flash stock images the files are on your PC, not the phone.
If you can get the phone to boot into fastboot (via vol up + vol dn + power) and get your PC to recognize it you're good to go.
thats the issue. pc cannot recognize the phone, so cannot get any files from the PC to the phone (ie. cannot get a rom file to the phone...)

Either directly from Samsung or download the GNex Toolkit (You might want to use it anyways to flash the stock image), the drivers come with it.
After you installed the drivers and have you phone plugged in, go to the device manager to check if it is connected properly.

I had a similar issue with regard to my PC recognizing the drivers. I googled around and found that people were having success with installing the PdaNet drivers, so maybe you can try that too. I had installed the Android SDK as well as the PdaNet drivers, and I eventually got mine to work.
I would probably follow Efrant's links first though - if that doesn't work for you, then maybe you can try PdaNet drivers and/or installing the SDK.
Good luck.
Why not just do a factory reset from within recovery?
¢ £®0π π€XU$ |||
the factory reset didn't help, the phone just wouldn't go past the black lockscreen. So in the end I used the galaxy nexus toolkit. installed the drivers for the PC, was able to go through fastboot and push files and flash a new rom.
Al is now solved, just need to do a lot of work to bring the phone back to where it was and make a backup asap.
thansk all for the help!

zenfone 2 usb problem? No bootloader, or xfstk, still boots to OS

Hey everyone hopefully someone has an idea what is wrong with this phone.
I cannot enter the bootloader it keeps blinking and eventually just goes to the official recovery.
Tried going into xfstk (which i have used before), cant connect get usb drive has malfunctioned on computer.
Inside the OS (6.0) when i plug it in to the computer i get cant connect get usb drive has malfunctioned on computer.
I tried replacing the usb board same thing.
Also quick charge doesnt work anymore (im guess all related).
Is it a mobo problem, or any other things i can try?
Have you tried ? , update from sd card --putting the firmware you are on or the next updated version ,on ext sd before booting into recovery and updating ,
i have tried this method recently , hope it works for you ?

here are few things you can try.
1. enable usb debugging and connect your phone to PC.
now assuming you already got adb and fastboot driver on pc..
run command adb reboot-bootloader
if this does not work. try other method.
2. download droidboot.img firmware image and place in in root of your phone
download turminal on phone. now run terminal emulator and run the following commands one by one. wait for little time after every command.
$ su
# dd if=/sdcard/droidboot.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p13
# reboot bootloader
third you can try updating firmwware via recovery as timbernot suggested. if it fails as well. then xfstk is needed.
there may be chance your fastboot partition is wasted. i have never tried to erase in via adb. i will try to erase it via adb and tell you if got success

I'm not rooted, so with su? Nothing happens.
Xfstk was my first choice, but when I plug my phone into computer I can never get the phone to connect (get USB drive has malfunctioned). I have used it successfully before.
I can't enable USB debugging either for some reason. Once it says developer options enabled. I cannot find developer options.
Tapping build number numerous times ?

You have to tick the box on screen of phone to allow it to make contact with the pc , maybe your phone screen timed out and you missed the pop up on phone? , set phone screen to time out for a couple of mins and attempt again
:good:
Ps the wipe data , can take a while

well seems like you have broken partition. need to flash xfstk. as it is booting properly you will not get it detected as moorefield. but even though install soc driver. then run xfstk. load files and click begin download. now connect your phone to pc in switch off mode and turn on

Unfortunately i have tried that a dozen times, i know its supposed to from a off phone when you turn it on theres a delay from your phone actually turning on till when you see the asus logo, this is when xfstk takes over - but even then i get device malfunctioned on computer - (begin download mode is on).

edit my mistake you are on 6.0 already
Out of ideas , cannot help but think its something simple , even tho developers options is ticked , is USB debugging ticked lower down ? Going back to home screen - swipe down and flick thru different options, camera- charge only- file transfer ?
Driver issue but doesnt explain it happening on other pc`s so seems more like ^^^
Then again if a USB hardware issue on phone, usb charge board -- i havent witnessed it so not able to comment.
If i come up with any ideas i will post - goodluck
I am going to try something on my own fone first before i let you know
I am going to attempt the official downgrade version of LP WW-52.20.40.196 from .144 M - via sd card and update from sd in recovery , with the view of updating/downgrading droidboot in the process- i have just managed the downgrade from .184 M to .144 via same method which is nice to learn
@sharkie545
Success -- Downgrade of MM to LP works with the downgrade firmware above works via update from sd in MM recovery ------- Marvelous
Stays on` updating IFWI ` for approx 8 mins but after that - bingo !
It also erases data after which it didnt updating in same OS
Also , i set it up -- after a reboot , detected .134 and ..144 and .184 MM update packages

Im going to try a few things first, i believe it has to do with the chip, or ribbon cable or IC chip. So im going to try to purchase a broken asus zenfone 2 (lcd problem) and swap some parts see if it fixes it. If it does well i know thats the problem. As i believe this is hardware related.

Hehehe I appreciate the help. I have reformated many times lol. But since xfstk cannot be detected either (moorfield USB drive has malfunctioned) leads me to believe it has to be hardware related. Since moorfield is irrelevant of software/bootloader. It's kinda like the ultimate savour. Saved me out of some hetic problems before. (Leading me to wipe me imei #s lol which I had to than learn how to reprogram back lol)
Thank you again.
As the saying goes 'nothing ventured ......'
At least for all my hard work I found a way to downgrade from MM to LP with no PC , which obviously rewrites boot loader
Thank you
And you are two minutes away from finding out , should you decide to gamble like me
Although I have many phones to fall back on
