root help michigan area - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Has anyone in the Michigan area achieved root that is willing to help me out? I'm way to impatient to wait for unrevoked rooting method. I've attempted the process at least 50 times but each time it says device not found.

Where are you in Michigan? I've rooted my phone with ease and would offer any help I can.

Just keep at it buddy and try all the "ZOMG I DID IT" methods on this forum a few times each... something will work eventually.

I am in Lansing and have rooted my phone.

I'm in the U.P. but I'm in the Grand Rapids area every 2 weeks. Someone please help my Droid was so easy to root.

If you can think of any nice vacation packages, I'll be up there tomorrow

I guess there is no hurry since we do not have any roms or overclocking kernels yet. But root would be nice to achieve

If only things were as easy as putting a update.zip file on the root of the SD card...miss the Droid in that respect.

[Q] Root for Android 2.3.3

How long do you think it will take for a ROOT to come out for the Android 2.3.3?
Between now and the end of time.
We don't know and asking for etas won't get you anywhere.

I don't know... but glad someone finally thought to ask!

i am patiently waiting. I miss my old evo rooted. I was actually given a brand new evo that had 2.2 on it and the ota showed up and without thinking i updated. So mad about that.
Thanks, I'll be patient.
I understand this is hard work and you guys are doing it all for love (or for something other than money), so I'm not going to add my voice to the chorus asking when the root solution for 2.3.3 will be ready--even though I'm a-yearning and a-craving to upgrade and re-root my phone. I'll just say thanks for now to all you geniuses for making these phones so much better!
Hope it's soon because I'm ready I just got my evo 4g yesterday and tried to superoneclick root and z4root and it didn't work.. Never thought to check and see if 2.3 can root. Damn

the more people ask, the less likely it will be done!
And if you had searched, you would have seen this has already been asked!
I bet root will be available when you stop making new accounts just to make the same thread asking the same question over and over again.
If anything, the devs are probably getting tired of the obnoxious kids in the Evo forums badgering them. Instead of trying harder, I'd give up if I were in their shoes.
Believe it or not, there are worst things than not being able to root your phone.

Not yet. A method should be out soon, though.
I heard updating the prl fixes it even if there is no update.

why are you going to wait a week or so? why not just do it now?
Welcome to the E4GT and welcome to XDA...
Hopefully the reason for waiting is because you never rooted a phone before. If that is the case, as easy at it is to root this phone, reading about everything first is the way to go...
If you do not about rooting and have done it before, no need to wait. It can be done in a matter of minutes.
Wait... Whats the point of this thread again? lol.

Hi its good that your waiting so that you can see if there's any problems with your phone.
If you new to rooting I recommend this method:

[Q] Evo 4G Temp-Root

Temp-Root?
How can I temp-root my Evo? I have the 2.3.5 update and want to get some system built in apps off like footprints. Etc.
:/ any ideas?
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
There's tons of threads how to root your phone, its not hard to find.... and bumping your thread every 2 hours isn't gonna get anyone to give u a handout when you could simply use your Google Fu and find your answer rather quick. Root evo 4g 2.3.5 ...oh wow look the answer but let me make a thread wait 2 hours and bump it instead of taking 2 mins to use Google
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Used google already... But look... I can't get TEMP ROOT for 2.3.5
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
There is no temp root you just need to root :-| you have to use htcdev to unlock the bootloader and then fastboot flash a recovery and then flash superuser and its binary files and if you Googled or even looked around in general and q&a you would know how to do this because its been asked and answered at least 2 dozen times since the OTA was pushed

Like he said, no temp root. Go all in and make the plunge, its well worth it.
I know but my warranty... My dad won't lemme root it but I've had alot done with root... EVO 3D... Evo... Samsung... Ya know just want a temp-root... I Create apps so I use that in root too... But thanks
Sent from my PC36100 using xda premium
Easier to ask for forgiveness than it is for permission ;-) Besides, as long as the sprint worker doesn't know how to check your root, you're fine. Find someone stupid.
I've never used an s-on tool to remove my root but i'm sure you could manage getting your phone back to normal. if you ever need to use your warranty. And your Dad will never have to know.

TacoRoot can temp root your device, but you can't really use your device while it's rooted (it makes it unstable). But feel free to try it, if you'd like.
Ok thanks

Whats best way to successfully root N2

Im not at my computer right now, but the recommended method of rooting is:
The root toolkit. Its very easy to do bro. Just follow and read.

To be a bit more clear.. There indeed can be many kinds of routes, some can reset your counter, and I believe some don't. Counter is a number that changes if you root your device so T-Mobile knows you messed with it. If your counter gets reset, they can't tell if you rooted or not.
I'm not on the T-Mobile network, so I didn't really care which. Head over to the developer section of this device category and read the thread by 'Simplelife' on how to root! Pick a method best for you. I personally used option 2.

Just picked up 2 of these T-Mo Note 2's last weekend. I just used the Galaxy Note2 ToolKit v3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957720 Just follow the on screen instructions, and make sure you read all the options. It wasn't as easy as unlocking and rooting my Nexus... but all I had to do is click one more option lol!
Thanks everyone for input. I used toolkit v3 and it worked flawlessly. Got root, recovery, and jedi x11. Friggin awesome.

How do I find the root toolkit?
I think the easiest method would be to flash TWRP and then flash superzu via TWRP.
