I am in with both hands and a leg

I'm in with both hands and legs.

What is meant by a hero vendor ?
i really would like a official support but i didn´t understand :S

What is meant by a "Hero vendor"?

was my intention to propose a community eclairs.
if I can help somehow

I can agree with this. Throw up a poll!

Cyanogen just announced on Twitter "HeroC" support for CM6 !!
C'MON !! GSM Hero is more popular !!
we gotta act FAST !!

See first post.

Cyanogen getting bigger and bigger Super Nice...
I'm not a dev but I really like this idea. Official support.

Cyanogen is a legend! Wo made me go from WinMO to Android, just wanted to try his work as there was a lot of hype!

I am in! Send us Official support!

Well, problem isn't compile cyanogen sources with working hero vendor. Problem is that last working vendor I know was LoxK with some fixes from mr.Whitehead.
I would like to support your effort, but I have to say that I always ended with compiled update.zip which simply never booted.

why don't u guys fork my heroC vendor tree. it isn't hard at all from there to make the subtle changes for GSM.

Don't worry about that, I have a strange mix of Lox' repo alongside some ported Cyanogen stuff from other devices and a few files of mine. And it works as it should I'll start uploading tomorrow and with a good community effort I hope that we can have a working tree, compatible with CM by weekend.

Actually, I tried your vendor, there was some problem with kernel alignment I guess. So I thought: this is for cdma, it should not work at all
It was stupid that I didn't asked you first
ah..and there were some differences in drivers, two of them you pulling from device wasn't on any ROM I tried.

amazing benhaam
whats the Linpack score with JIT on?
will it be released ?
Edit : I read your twitter
No it wont be released as, why? Because its based on the SDK images that was not meant to run on devices
Wait until android git gets refreshed

What's is the Linpack for Android MFLOPS score?
If it's anything like 2.1, we will not have any fully functioning 2.2 ROMs until the manufacturers release device-specific drivers.

Is it? I wouldn't be so sure Behnaam can have things he isn't allowed to release due to protecting leakers at HTC. I know someone with almost-final RUU for GSM Hero. But he can't release it cos it's all watermarked
I thought he did something cool to the toastcfh CDMA Hero kernel:
http://github.com/toastcfh/CdMa-HeRoC-2.6.29
That was just refreshed his github within the last 24 hours.

Ubuntu Touch Port

Hello everyone, I thought we could start some Ubuntu Touch porting so wanted to share thoughts, ideas, development and maybe do this as a community work. I'm currently preparing everything (slow adsl) and trying to figure out which are the steps to be followed
It's not very difficult according to: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Touch/Porting
But we've a first problem, the porting requires the use of CM10.1 repos and cm10.1 for our device is a bit of a dream atm, better, there's the repo but no nightly at all. Would we be able or would it be worth to try to use one of the cm10.1 porting available for the hox or we must wait for an official nightly?
I think I should give a try, but I don't really want to waste my time so I may be missing something important which absolutely requires the official repos.
Ideas?
P.s sorry if this isn't the most appropriate section, tell me and even move the thread if necessary, but I'd prefer to stay away from "nice thanks", "fantastic" and so posts, they make no sense now since it's too soon and just distract.
Can't we use tbalden's kernel and device trees? It's as official as it gets.

You mean this https://github.com/cyanogenmod/android_device_htc_endeavoru? I haven't followed cm10.1 porting and development very much so it's pretty much what I was asking, when compiling a rom starting from this repo, will it work?

The builds from that repo have all been really solid. I guess it'll serve as a base.
Thanks, will start from it tomorrow, it's midnight here and still waiting for the download to finish...
Moved to Q&A
Nevermind this post.
I'm trying to port it too but download is really slow. We have CM10.1 for our device. but i think it's juste usefull to boot.
Keep following your work too.
I've synced 3 hrs now and only have fetched 2Gb. They should probably invest in some servers.
lol... my download crashed during the night... now i'm at 88% for phablet.. and waiting also for CM10.1...
Edit: My download crashed again at 15.45 pm...... i'll become crazy...
Call to all:
I've finished the actual porting process. Now I have to iron out compiling errors. Hopefully I'll be able to boot soon!

thx for you hard job .then i wil try it
I tried it, but ran into some problems...
At first I flashed xiaomi.eu_multi_MIMix2_V10.4.2.0.PDECNXM_v10-9.zip and then M.A.R.S.XUAV.19.08.28
Everything looked good, no errors. Then reboot. I can enter SIM PIN but after that, Screen goes on and off. Android Setups pop´s up, 1 step forward and 1 back (and I'm still doing nothing), Screen goes on and off and so on....
ps.: tried it with and without SIM Card... Same behavior.

So i have updated the ReadME and Infos about that. MIUI is a really strange Android Fork and i haven't had the Features working that i think are essential for Me and the Project. That's why i drifted the foucs back to AOSP for now again. I wish i had a Teammate who would make a MIUI Version that lacks of the XUA (Xiaomi Universal AOSP) full feature set, that would mean just to much work for Me right now since i'm already working up to 8Hrs per day on the main Patch... So You flashed XUA which is meant for AOSP. I would recommend You to try Lineage OS or Havoc Official. They run both with the full feature set and without bigger Problems right now (Check GitHub Issues for Bugs).
Hope You will enjoy the expierence! More Updates are coming! BR
Sry, my mistake. Didn't read that ^^
I stay with MIUI because I really like it more than these AOSP Roms.
But I wish you success with this Project. Looks really good.
Greetings from Leipzig
First Users on Discord reported it works on Mi 9 and Mix 2 (Various ROMs). We just had a issue with CPU Loads which will be fixed in V.19.08.29. Everything is super fluid and performing well. Audio is awesome compared to stock or normal AOSP... Really proud of it right now.
I will also move from GitHub to Google Drive and My Homepage since GitHub is problematic in many Views. More Threads for other Devices are coming and i hope the Community will grow fast.
@gitsbash No Problem! You're welcome to give it a try at any time!

If You want Help , ask another Way...
Yeah right. That's the easiest thing to do because you can't explain how MARS really helps. You throw around too much jargon on what you have done and how it'ssupposed to work. But you have a hard time explaining why we need a software that takes more memory than our ROM to make it fast. Counter-intuitive. What does it actually do?

Lineage for the OP7T, (target reached)

Hi, trying to pool funds together to get LuK1337 a phone, and port Lineage to our devices. Chip a few dollars in, if you are interested.
Edit:
We have reached our target goal, and LuK has enough funds, and has purchased a 7T. Of course feel free to support the Lineage project as you wish.
I've donated $50 today.
Reddit post for context.
I guess I need to state here that I'm on board with this idea.
You can find my PayPal in my XDA signature. Also, I'm at 100% of the end goal being ~$265.
I gave $50 dollars as well.
this would be awesome and much appreciated! will try to donate when I can
I don't have that device nor intend to buy one but what the heck, chipped in €5.00 EUR.
Good luck with porting the OnePlus 7T hotdogB LuK1337 & BIG thanks for supporting the Lineage project.

Official or non Official.. it's still the same but built with my laptop...I have built it with the lineage kernel and it didn't get past the bootanimation so I decided on Yaap since that's the steady kernel that's from an official team of Devs that have been doing their thing but it is not a big deal... you can do whatever you want to do and I wish you nothing but the best.

Realistically could the same thing be done to get TWRP working? I would rather spend money on giving Mauronofrio and others the incentive to iron out that, flashing with fastboot is a major pain.

AFAIK the big hangup for Lineage and TWRP is that there's no upstream kernel support. You solve that (which is what Luk1337 wants to do) and you get both.

Hmm... I don't think I will have to do anything in kernel to support 7T. Also, I don't really care about TWRP, if anything it's a bless because there will be less users doing silly stuff with it.
