Stuck on boot after flash. - Desire General

Hi all.
I've just got the unbranded Desire [EUROPE-Poland], after Hero i needd root etc. so did everything that You "say".
After tutorials i've rooted and flashed via (green) recovery a new DJDroid rom.
But it keeps playing boot anim all the time.
Tried few defferent roms, same thing.
Did SD partitioning and a full wipe.
Any idea?
pls, help.
Only thing thay i can do is reflash via generic RUU one on fastboot now. =/

EDIT
---
already searched the formu - nothing similar didnt found

Have you wiped cache and dalvik cache, and done a data/factory reset ?

Yes, yes, yes
As is said: "Did SD partitioning and a full wipe."

Dont know the problem...

Can you put up a logcat for us?
And what method of rooting did you use ?

decompress android sdk (check on google for the sdk package, is quite small), then go inside the "tools" folder (I assume you have already your drivers installed).
then go on command prompt, and
Code:
adb logcat
will show the logcat.
Code:
adb logcat > bootlog.txt
will create the boot log (you won't actually see anything on screen since the output is redirected on the txt file.
You can:
start your phone
type adb logcat
CTRL+C when the phone is booted.
It will automatically stop if a reset occurs.

Silly question, but you did use the right one for your bootloader didn't you ?

How did you wipe your ext partition?
I've had to use my computer as wiping it in recovery didn't work.

I don't think you have the usb brick as you would have no access to SD card, and the phone would still boot. You would also see qualcomm devices listed when you connect usb.
Have you tried booting without the sim and SD card?

... but after reinsert abowe its all the same. =/
I can lunch it with SIM only.
So i cant lunch it with SD inserted.
Can You verify what is the problem?
Or how can i?
Maby should i try with goldcard?

if it boots with SIM and no SD then its the SD thats the issue.
You can try to format the SD again and reparition it, if that dont work then it must be a faulty SD card.

[Q] Clorkworkmod cant find sd. Is it bricked?

Hi. I was loading a rom in recovery and first wiped system and data. when I went install the new rom I got the error "E:Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (no such device)". In other words, I have wiped the old and it cant find the new rom.
Previously I rooted by UnRevoked so I have not previously set up android sdk.
Am I screwed
Thanks
Have you tried a different SD card or the CD card in another PC?
Could be a faulty sd, or if not maybe try cleaning the contacts on the card and phone?
the card seems ok. It can be read via USB from recovery.
Is there any way I can set up a terminal connection and flash a rom from my computer?
I'm having the exact same issue with r6. The SD just won't mount even in recovery. When this happens there is literally nothing else to do, we need a solution!!!
Sorry to hear it Doogle. Im out of ideas too
Pretty lucky to not be the only one tho
Just so you know, mine is definitely USB bricked, but the SD thing is stopping me from being able to fix this.
It's quite unusual.
Any idea if its possible to set up a terminal?
or does usb bricked mean your comp cant see the phone?
I set up a thread earlier to find that out. No replies
Yeah when the phone is USB bricked the PC just can't detect it,
so it's impossible to flash RUUs, so I'm up against the wall unless
I can get this working
When Clockworkmod didn't find my SD, but card reader showed it ok, I used SDFormater to reformat card (remowed all partitions) and when formated in recovery.

[Q] Dropped my phone - Now stuck in bootscreen

Hello guys,
I woke up too early this morning, and i accidentally knocked my phone off the stairs. It fell about 2 meters, bounced and then fell another meter, bounced and fell another meter and stopped.
Thankfully it was in a silicon case (i think that's what made it bounce) and there are no visible damages.
I picked it up, and it seemed to be working. After a few secs it went into sleep mode and would not wake up.
I removed the battery and rebooted, and i got the HTC screen, then the nexus boot screen and it stays stuck on the nexus boot.
I then entered recovery mode and thought i would try and restore my backup. I get the following message:
E: Can't mount /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 (or /dev/block/mmcblk0)
(No such file or directory)
E: Can't mount /sdcard
I took off the SD card, put it my pc and it works just fine.
I got another SD card, copied a rom onto it and tried to reinstall through recovery.
I did a wipe/data factory reset and tried to install the rom.
I got the same message...
Is my Desire toast? It's only six months old...
I was running Defrost6.1 and using psfMod 0.9.7.2 as my recovery.
Any advice would be extremely appreciated.
Thanks
aalex
UPDATE
I did another wipe data / factory reset, and i rebooted.
The rom starts up, without any of my previous settings of course, but I still cannot mount my SD card.
From file manager, it seems that it is being mounted, but no files are listed...
When i try with gallery it reports "SD card unmounted or not present".
Any insights?

Wait till the battery dies. Then insert the SD card and try again to boot it (with usb cable connected to have some battery power) again.

With your SD card in your phone go into settings then storage and unmount SD card. Then format your SD card from your phones menu and it should mount the SD card see if that worked.

Hi ste1164,
Thanks for responding. My problem is that my phone cannot pickup the existence of an SD card.
This is a typical USB-brick. I've had one a few weeks ago. You should look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=691639&highlight=usb+brick.
If you're new to this, it can be hard to get it working again. Just let me know if you have any problems. It took me a few hours to get it done
From fastboot via ADB, execute "fastboot oem enableqxdm 0" and then reboot it with "fastboot reboot" command.
See if it works.
If you don't remember how to do the above, just search.

its not a usb brick, thats a software brick.... it sounds to me like you have a corrupt sd card, sd cards are very delecate and this can happen from a sudden impact, try formatting the card in windows explorer, obviously you cannot format your sd-ext using windows so try gparted or ubuntu to format your other partition.

Can't be sdcard, op said tried sdcard in PC and tried different sdcard...same result, must be sdcard reader or something.
You never know, might be a USB brick, just happened before the drop and was brought on by the reset...but I agree probably is hardware fault.
Is it possible to flash stock rom from fastboot without sdcard? Could try warranty repair then...

sorry i didnt notice that, could be a usb brick but like i said thats S/W related and i doubt dropping your phone could cause such an error, +1 suppose the sudden reset could cause the usb brick especially if the device was reading or writing to the sd card when it happened, could also be the sd card reader in the device has been damaged or one of the internal components. can the device read the sim card? if it dosent, could be a usb brick
Just a thought...is the sdcard reader attached by a ribbon? (never seen the inside of my desire, hope I never have to)
I'm sure I've heard of a few desires that can't read sdcard anymore, I reckon it's either attached by ribbon or it's the most delicate part of the phone.
I'm hoping it's a loose ribbon because that's an easy fix, even I could do that.
Hey guys,
Thanks to all of you for responding.
My sim card works just fine. I can make and receive calls, texts, go online via 3g and Wifi, connect through bluetooth. As far as i can tell, my phone does everythind it did before except mount an SD card. Also, the android market keeps crashing, and if i try and download anything from the net i get a prompt saying that i need an sd card to download.
So far I took the SD card and put it in my pc. I formated it, tried again but it didnt work.
I then tried a brand new sd card and that didn't work either.
However, I did not format the old card's ext2 partition, and the new sd doesn't have an ext partition yet.
Would this point to a USB Brick as mentioned above?
Would it be possible for me to flash the stock rom on the device?
Thanks once again, to all of you.

Yes, that should solve your problem. I had the same problem a few weeks ago, but that included a malfunctioning usb, even charging didn't work correctly.
To fix the sd-card, you should run the above command using the tool fastboot, available in the Android sdk. After downloading, cd to the tools folder in the sdk and then run the command while your phone is connected to your pc in fastboot mode. Then it should work again.

Hey koenvbeek,
Thanks for the help. I think i may need a bit more of it
Here is what i did so far:
I used Nephrons guide to download and install ADB.
I then rebooted to bootloader. The phone displays "fastboot" and then when i plug it in it dispalys fastboot-usb
I then went to the ADB tools directory and tried to run the command.
I got a message saying the command cannot be run because adbwinapi.dll is missing from my system, and asking me to reinstall everything...
Clearly i made a mistake somewhere but where?
I don't think you made a mistake
Either the requested file is missing, or it can't be used by your computer. First check if the file is present. If not, google for it.
If it is present, your computer can't use it for some reason. Are you on a 64-bit OS? If you're on Vista/7: did you open the cmd promt as admin?
Yeah, nothing wrong, it's just that the API library is missing.
Download it from the attachment here, and put it in the "tools" folder, then try again.
Edit: As you can see it's in an archive, since dll attachment is not enabled here, so extract the file from it.

[Q] Unable to access my SD card......

My desire is rooted with neophyte ROM loaded, the phone works but I can't access my 16GB SD card, it is accessible via a PC (when I plug the SD card into a reader) and I've tried the stock 4GB card in the phone and that is also unreadable.
Ok so I did drop the phone from waist height (not for the first time) but I doubt that's caused the issue (well I hope not !) I'm thinking the battery pull has somehow corrupted the ROM.
So now when I have either of my SD cards plugged into the phone I'm unable to access them via clockworkmod recovery console either, I just get unable to mount SD card error.
I tried to format the 4GB card on my PC but that made no difference.
Is my phone broken, what else can I try ?

[Q] Sdcard damaged after flashing rom

Hi,
Upgrading my Froyo version to a Cyanogen mod and other similar roms creates a damaged sdcard that can be read just from the recovery mode.
I have never partitioned my sdcard. Is it so important?

Thank you for helping!
Hey !
did you use a goldcard for your upgrade ? this special card should not be used "as is" to store data after, I think you have to format it again

Usually a reboot removes this error.
If not, Poweroff, take out the sd-card, boot, poweroff, put in the sd-card, boot, and it should be fine.

Here's the problem:
When I flash the rom on my phone, the lonely way I can read my sd card is to enter to recovery mode and format and backup and every thing I want.
When I try to read it or format it with an adapter on my computer or with my phone in the sdcard preferences, it says that the card is damaged.
When I format with the recovery too and try to read with 'mont storage" it's good on my computer and the card is empty. But when I boot on my phone, I have the same message: sdcard damaged!
Other way to use my sdcard is to do a backup and return to my android Froyo and then every thing is all right but I'm not upgraded
I haven't found any way to upgrade my version without having this problem with my sdcard...

Well this is strange, at least you're not in hot water with your phone not booting.
Lets try a more advanced partitioning wizard. Download gparted and burn it onto a cd or make a bootable USB. Then try re-formatting the sd-card in that. It could be a case that your sd-card died, they usually come with lifetime warranties so you should be able to get a new replacement for free.

I'm having the same issue after flashing a new ROM, my 64gig sdcard is saying SdCard Damaged. I can't view the contents on PC as it never mounts the sdcard. I can see the sdcard on my Mac but can't access the contents. I really don't want to format and lose all my photos from my last trip (I know I should have backed up this first, but have flashed so many other ROMs without an issue before).
The funny thing is I can boot into TWRP recovery and still access my ROMs, kernels and on programs from the sdcard. I had the same issue with my 500gig external USB hard drive and I just repaired it using my Mac file utilities, but will not let me repair the sdcard.
Any suggestions to recover my data? Just really want the pictures, everything else is backed up.

What exactly happened in AAHK? What have you done since rooting - for example, have you installed a custom ROM?

What did the notification say exactly? Did you try rebooting? Are you sure the sdcard is seated correctly?

Where is it telling you those messages?
If you want someone to help you need to give detailed list of what you did and what messages have been output.

Hack Kit does not mess sdcards, so yours should have been bad before, or maybe the contacts in the device are not ok. Have you tried formatting the sdcard?
That might happen if you improperly unmount it. Have you unmount it from the device, take it off and put it back, choosing to eject it from the menu?

That is really not a good attitude to have here.
Oops, thanked you; definitely on accident.
Format the card. If that doesn't work get a new one. Yours might be corrupted.

If you want help, be polite
Sent from my Desire HD using xda app-developers app
I will persist...
So it sounds like you managed to root your phone successfully then using the Ace kit. Do you install a new custom ROM as well or just go back to your original one?
If the Hack kit worked your SD card should work fine as it turns it into a gold card. If the SD card was damaged it should have flagged it up during the Ace Hack kit installation.
Turn off you phone, take the SD card out and clean the contacts. Put it back in and restart the phone and see what happens?
If that doesnt work format your SD card or get a new one. They are pretty cheap these days.

sd card blank or has unsupported filesystem
Hi.
My sd card has stopped working. It shows sd card blank or has unsupported filesystem, I made factory reset, hard reset but still not working. My HTC Desire HD corrupt every sd card that i put inside the whole. How to fix this problem. I'm worry about it because i cannot use the camera or to download any video. SD Card require for all downloads. In the PC shows removable disc but when i want to format it shows "enter the disc".
Thank you in advance

How are you removing your sdcards? Are you dismounting them properly? Try formatting it from the phone instead of the PC.

I already tried everything. From phone cannot format the sd Card. The option is to format it but when i make this option, it wont formatted. Remains only trying but nothing happens. The only thing that I will try is to root the phone.

You need a working sdcard to root the phone. I would advise that you try a new card.

I'm not sure, then. It could be a hardware problem.
