HTC Desire as PC Remote Control - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello
I would like to know if there is any app for Desire with which i could use my desire as remote control for my PC (via bluetooth?)... espacially Volume up down or Play/Pause on VLC/PowerDVD/Media Player
thx

gMote claims to be a remote control program. I am not sure that it works via Bluetooth though.

VLC Remote is really good. Use it all the time on my Linux and Windows machines.

VLC gets my vote!

Hi you can remote control your mac from Iphone using actymac. com ActyMac DutyWatch Remote.

Media player classic has it's remote control app which works great for me.

I've used several apps for this feature but I always go back to myRemote. It's main function is as a Windows media remote but it functions perfectly well in normal Windows as a trackpad + keyboard

I use PhoneMyPC - i find it a great app, and very fast + only a few KBytes to download.

Google Gremote, and download the free version. It's pretty awesome. You just need to tweak the mousepad settings, then get used to how it works.

with your ps3 how much control do you have because i am wanting to have my x1 control my ps3. I am hoping there is a way to have a remote play function set up on my phone so you could control the ps3 and stream content over the web like a PSP.

There is a DLNA server app "Connected Devices" (Verbundene Medien, I use German Sense), but I could not get it to work on the network to show up as a server for i.e. Windows Media Player. But the free Twonky Server http://androidandme.com/2010/01/news/twonkyserver-mobile-media-server-in-your-pocket/ from the market does the job just fine! There is also a fine paid app Remote Media that can act both as a DLNA server and client (streaming to the Desire).

[Q] DLNA or other options for TV-out function?

Hi
I know that with DLNA you are able to stream media files only to DLNA compatible devices such as TVs and sound systems. What I am looking for is a way to view my Desire Z screen on my TV, in ANY way. Maybe an app that use DLNA features or something.
I mean, something?
You could install a VNC server on your phone ("droid vnc server" from the marker free or paid doesn't matter) and install some sort of vnc client on your computer. by doing that you can display your phones screen on your computer.
Then you can connect your computer to your tv.
there might be easier ways that i am not aware of but this the only thing that i can think of.
XBox 360 and Playstation 3 are DLNA compatible. Do you have either of those hooked up to your TV?

[Q] Remote control your phone app

Has anyone got a remote control app to work on ICS yet? I've tried:
My Mobiler
Remote VNC Server
Remote Control Add-on
Remote Web Desktop
And none of them work in ICS...
I have used this app in the past, but have not tried it with ICS. It is call Webkey
https://market.android.com/details?id=com.webkey&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS53ZWJrZXkiXQ..
Teamviewer works great with ICS on tablets and phones.

Now you can try our new app, VMLite VNC Server, people are liking it. You can view and control your phone remotely, works very well on Eclair and up, including ICS and JellyBean

Live streaming and possible file sharing??

OK so this might be a tall order, I've been looking for a way to Stream to my nexus 7 and nexus5 from my laptop...I know about the apps out there but they don't quite do what I would like them to... Those apps allow me to access files on my laptop,...here's an example of what I want to do...run media on my PC...say powerpoint and have my mobile devices see the presentation....but have it controlled from my PC..bonus points if anyone can find a way for this to work on android and iOS..... thanks in advance for thinking about it.

I think you can use iDisplay for this, it makes the tablet a secondary monitor for the computer
Chrome remote desktop. It shows everything thats on laptop screen on tablet. It allows control from PC or tablet.
I use chrome remote desktop as suggested and it working very well. Kind helpful when monitoring my pc when i'm away from home.
