Bug image resizing - Galaxy S I9000 Themes and Apps

Just like someone reported in gallery, goto any webpage with images such as eBay (in classic mode not mobile ) and try to enlarge/zoom the page the images are all blurry and not resizing correctly. This is in f/w jg1. If I remember right in jf7 it worked, so it appears to be a new bug.

Have you tried viewing the pages over WiFi? Some carriers are notorious for compressing images when viewing over their network.

Bonsai v4.0.1 and the Modded Gallery..

Hey everyone.. I've done a little digging and I can't seem to find a solution. I am currently running Bonsai 4.0.1 and love it.. but I noticed that their modified version of the gallery doesn't allow me to set my own photos as scrollable wallpapers. Static single panel only. I tried pulling the Gallery apks from Syndicate and Midnight.. but they both have the Gallery Sensor bug. I can live with just rebooting my phone whenever I change wallpapers, just curious as to the existence of a Modded Gallery 3D apk that doesn't drain my battery and can set scrollable wallpapers. Thanks in advance!
Cheers,

I have Bonsai 4.0.1 and the modded Gallery and mine scrolls just fine. Never tried a photo but am using a jpg of a Thor movie poster that scrolls. I made sure I cropped it in landscape size. Have you tried quickpic? Maybe it is the order of how I did it. I long press on a blank homescreen or blank area, pick wallpaper, then the Gallery comes up to pick the picture. Crop what you want and set it.

Hmm.. I just flashed in the original gallery apk from bonsai 4.0.1 and cropped my photo in landscape and now it scrolls, but with black bars above and below the image. When I use the Gallery from SRF or Midnight I can crop in either portrait or landscape and wont get the bars..

That is strange. I don't get any bars. I had to actually add some black edges to my Thor background so it is visible above the launcher icons.
I can't imagine that they would have packaged to different galleries between the time you flashed it and when I did.. would they?

I doubt it, although I did had an issue where Gallery icon was labeled "false". I had to remove it with sdx app removal tool, download Gallery 3D from the market, then replace that one with root explorer with the apk pulled out of 4.0.1 install. Don't know if that changed the way mine handles pix and wallpaper or not.
I've never had any problems using the included 3D Gallery in Bonsai to set scroll-able wallpapers. I just tried it again to make sure and it still works, although I normally use Quickpic as my go-to Gallery app.

Same with Midnight which uses Bonsai as its base. I use QuickPic and erase Gallery with Root Explorer. Works perfect

Sounds like something flashed incorrectly or got funky during the download. At anyrate, I've used Quickpic and Just Pictures before. Suppose Ill just go back to using those. Thanks a bunch for all of your input.

If you look at this thread you'll be able to see exactly how to do it and learn how to do other things when using the app.
''Evil corrupts the mind of the weak but fails to feed off the mind of the strong''
Or you can upload at an image host, and use the img bb code...
There are a bunch of good host apps available in play store...
I prefer this because a lot of times the pics that are natively uploaded do not show up due to issues with tapatalk's server...

I agree .... app makes it easier

you could always use an image hoster like imgur.com
The most easy way which I prefer to use on my phone is just a SIMPLE APP.
Its name is URLy:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...ogle&utm_medium=organic&utm_term=urly+android
Its a free app. So no fuss.
Just open up your picture, select Share, then select URLy and upload to any site of your choice (huge selection available)....when uploaded it directly copies the URL of the pic to your clipboard.
And then just open up XDA app and paste the code in the "Insert Image Link" !

[Q] Photo Sphere..I don't get it!

Can someone please explain exactly what I'm supposed to do with the Photo Sphere images from the 4.2 camera app?
I've shot a bunch of them but they just look like standard panorama images!
How do I view them on the PC and get them to pan etc?
Sorry for yet another stupid question..
When you view them on your phone you should have a circular icon at the bottom of the screen - press this and it should go 3D (like streetview)
Thanks. When I press that button in the new Gallery app, nothing happens at all!
Upload those pics to Google+ there you can able view photo sphere images in PC

I have had the same question, so photo sphere means to be able to view pics as 3D?

Not sure what the gms core app is!
All i did was to flash the 4.2 camera app and the new gallery app came with it!
Should I have flashed something else?
Sounds like the package you flashed wasn't complete

View webpage source on mobile browser?

Hey guys just wondering if there is a way to view the source code for a webpage like on a PC. Usually (on windows) if you're on a website and you go to View and hit Source it's there. Don't see it on stock 4.1.2 browser or chrome. Is there a way?

you mean the .htm or html file?
Copy its address and add it to your browser, it works well like that!
Not sure what you mean, but usually it just opens a webpage that looks like notepad and has the source for the page you're on. That's all I'm looking for

OK!
if it can't automatically give you the option of the browsers then go to the direction where is the file e.g. index.htm and copy its address /sdcard/website/index.htm and put it to browser's url bar and it will open the file via browser..
"View Web Source" from the Google Play Store

Still confused about what you're saying, sorry, so I have to go to where what file is exactly? Real sorry man I spent most of the night backing up windows and trying to dual boot Ubuntu. Few beers deep ATM....lol

the easiest and fastest way to view source is download Firefox browser. It has a free plugin in its store equivalent that allows you to view source in the browser itself without closing the site you are viewing.
Source: I use it.
Please press thanks if this helps.

thanks I guess that sorta works. It only displays like 3 or 4 lines of text and then I have to scroll the whole rest of the way across. Like 90% of the screen is blank and unused. Also if I try to zoom in everything disappears same if I scroll too fast. :/

Add view-source: in front of URL
Android versions of Firefox, Kiwi and Chrome all allow you to put "view-source:" on the URL line BEFORE the https:// (or http://).
Example:
view-source:https://forum.xda-developers.com

[Q] Stock Gallery Quality issues?

Hiya all, just got my brand new Note 2 today, and I went to go read some pictures that contain a lot of text in them. When I zoom in, the text quality is immediately hindered, as though if it were a thumbnail and I zoomed in on it. I downloaded Quickpic fron the market and opened the same images, but they are perfectly fine. What gives? Ill upload screen shots in a second.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
Forgot to mention that I am unrooted. Also I normally use quickpic, except that recently its been having issues selecting itself as the default app. Across 3 seperate devices, on 3 different versions of android, the apps permissions never stick. So id rather just use stock.
As you can see from the pictures attached, the stock gallery app has issues. Its the same image, which was an original screenshot from a computer. I took a screenshot on my note both in full frame and zoomed in. Is there a fix? Never noticed this issue until I was forced to go back to stock gallery.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda premium
They are the same for me. I run both apps. No distortion in stock gallery app.

Are you rooted? I notice that on XDA premium when I click images that it produces the same effect, but when I view the same thread in the browser it looks fine. I wonder if its and issue with not being able to load certain sizes of images? Like it can only dedicate so much memory to any picture at any given time? I dont know.
