about changing ROMs

Hi All
I have an english ROM updated with WM6 from HTC , I've installed HTC Home, Pocket Informant , Clauncher and many gratis programms
I want to install a french ROM , will be all the programms erased ? shall I have to reinstall all ,
will it be possible to come back to the english version if the french is not good enough ( I think to install a french rom found here ,I've aleady seen I have to reinstall TomTom)
First of all : I have copied all of the directories on my Computer (on Vista)
Installing HTC Home , spb mobile shell ( trial) and other programms or Today's plugins I had some problems ( soft reset or change to today settings) I don't want to have a P3300 not working !!!!!

All your Windows directories? You should just backup your own files and put them on your Storage Card. Flashing a ROM doesnt clear your Storage Card.

if I understand well , can update the rom without any damage to my storagecard
it's a very good news
i have all the cabs in it and in my PC too (with exe programs for install)
so I can install a new rom and reinstall wm6 wwe from htc
it is a long way and many time to test all that
very funny for me
last question : I'll lose all in my today settings I suppose , can you confirm ?

yes everything will go back to "factory settings" just factory settings for the new rom you are flashing

one thing I don't understand if storage card is not erased , how can I have the programms in : Start Programms after installing new rom
is there a cab to do that ?

You will have to create manually the links to your programs in the storage card.

Hope you all don't mind I'm asking and hopefully somebody out there can give me the answer.
I flashed my tab few weeks ago but can't remember which ROM it was. Probably Chainfire's. My device details:
GT-P1000
Firmware: 2.3.3
Baseband: P1000XXJPZ
Kernel: 2.6.35.7 [email protected] #2
Build: GINGERBREAD.XXJQ1
My question is can I flash Overcome ROM to my tab? Is it safe?

20080411 (Sharing) Easy WM6.1 Flashing Tool xtracted from Official RUU for beginners~

20080411 updated:
1. HardSPL is recommended !!! Thanks to mrvanx ^_^
2. If your PC is running Vista, please have a look HERE Thanks to mrvanx ^_^
3. ( be sure that you had done the HardSPL) Unzip the tool in the attachment........
- download the " Flashing tool " attached hereinafter, extract it and go to next step.
P.S. the there is a Chinese CHT rom ( xxxxx.nbh) inside the tool already for testing, please replace with your favorite rom (xxxxxx.nbh ) ^_^ if you need
3.1 Manual force the Hermes to bootloader mode,
( press side "OK" and the "power button" simultaneously, and pit the soft-reset hole for 1 second,
then ONLY release the stylus, keep squeezing the side buttons until you see the 3 colors, then release all buttons)
3.2 plug to PC (you should see the display changed to " USB", not "Serial ",
4. execute "ROMUpdateUtility.exe " in the extracted folder immediately, waiting too long may cause errors,

i use the CHT 19209 V2 for 2 days , it is a stable , fast rom in my softbank
of course , i had tried chs,wwe .....
well , just a bug , it goes to \windows when i click my favorites in the pie ,
other than this , every thing go fine ,thanks for -- elklau 's great job ,
he make CHT user happy .
besides , i like the font in the v1 but not this one ......

flashed differen firmware and it would work again

I have already try this ROM. I used another RUU wrapped to install the ROM. It's really stable compared with other manilla2d's ROM.
Some need to be fixed is :
1. You tube, can't launch this one
2. Landscape manilla2D?

tell me whether you can launch You Tube or not

Best way to load this ROM :
Switch off your phone. Enter into Bootloader mode by pressing power and ok buttons alongwith tapping softreset button simultaneously. Also uncheck "Disable USB Settings" in Active sync in connection settings. Connect your phone via usb cable and run Rom Update utility from downloaded rom files.
Thats it !

Simpler :
Take the RUU_signed.nhh file to a folder with a common from other roms RUUWrapper and run it as usual

just flashed it, everything works fine,,,except phone cant find the network,,,tried connection setup and reflashed rom with another ruu wrapper. still not working...any solution for this...my carrier is tmobile us. sorry for my bad english.

"PhamQuang" is the password

This rom doesnt allow a successful activesync connection in xp or vista. in both, the usb device is unrecognized. Also, for whatever reason I have difficulty with my phone radio now. I can't seem to get a reliable signal. i would recommend looking elsewhere because this rom is buggy right now.

Bàn phím Ezinput, it's not working. Click on it, it just turn off the screen. Slide the keyboard, nothing happen...

seems like the clock is only set to 24 hours. Tried changing it in the settings but no luck?

then when its about to update the ROM,
(when it should be going to a progress
bar)then it ends the activesync connection
and it doesnt update ><" is there anything
else i should be doing other than just
running the RUU.exe?

NVM, all i did was put it into
bootloader, then ran the RUU,
it JUST finished flashing now,
i'll bbl after i play around w. it
to give you some feedback =]

Nice work. A little confused at first as the device would just shut off and not go into bootloader mode. Also, I'm a newb. Thanks Dim_sum for the hint.

active sync is working for me

this version is better improved V18 as in my opnion far better than V19 which was a bunch of bugs.
this V20 is awesome. no bugs, no problems so far.
just not entirely sure why a new thread has been created for this rom as the V18 and V19 one created by rod555 is still active.

1. Messages & Email not working
2. GPS updater not working
3. GPRS not working
Can you fix the issue?
Sad thing happen, I can't flash back to my original firmware--> Malaysia version.
During the flash back, the rom ask for the language firmware version..........
Which rom version hdubli using to do this custom rom

I have the whole ext rom cabs.well you can also do.Install total commander ande fo to ASUS_ROM and install.Then pls chck and let me know if u messaging and all are working or not
P.S : Found Solution.
Unrar the archive
Copy all files to /Windows
Then execute installer
it will injstall the ext ROM and the version as well
then one can go back to the stock ROM.
Am extremely sorry for causing a little inconvenience.I will correct these things in my future release.
