I know it can be done on the Hero through fastboot, but as there is no unlocked boot loader for the Desire it's not possible.

Which MAC address?
The WiFi MAC address should be accessible through ifconfig just as any other *nix derivative. Try it, but you need the ifconfig binary first. I found the ifconfig/iwconfig etc binaries compiled for android somewhere and they work as they are supposed to via terminal emulator.

[OS] Ubuntu on your Diamond -> Rhobuntu

Hi all,
maybe you have already heard of Rhobuntu, an Ubuntu running on HTC Touch Pro 2 (Rhodium). Well, since, our kernel supports not only Rhodium but also Topaz, Blackstone, Raphael and Diamond, we decided to tweak Rhobuntu in a way that it runs on all these devices and not only on Rhodium. One user has already reported that Rhobuntu runs fine on his Diamond, including Calibration, SD card access, WiFi and 3G.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=6189966&postcount=761
So, if you're interested in running a Linux on your phone, you might give it a try and tell about your experience in this thread or in our main Rhobuntu thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=640785
Rhobuntu is not a ROM and not an emulator. It boots out of Windows Mobile the same way Android does.
Before running haret.exe read this first
How to install Rhobuntu on your Diamond
Great news, I'll give it a try
thanks
Great, I will try it! Thanks
Good news, i tried Ubuntu but calibration and Wifi was not working. Hope it will work now.

I have just WEP key in my WIFI, where I can enable encryption? Thanks

Did you select "WEP (Passphrase)" in the list over the Passphrase input field?
Don't know, why you'd like to use WEP, though. It's extremely unsafe and can be hacked in less than one minute

Better use WPA2.

yesterday i had to learn, there is no way to use a static ip for my wlan.
ok, i could buy an app, witch would do it.
but i really dont get the point, why i should buy for such a standard function...
is there anyway to do this by my self?

I tried the provided list but the reg editor doesn't seem to write the reg entry. I used root tool v2.0. What seems to be the problem? Before using root tool I updated my 1520 to the latest update I think that matters(does it matter?).

Root tool is your problem. It used to work fine previously but now it's quite useless. Don't know why. Try with another reg tool.

Do you know "Provisioning package" ?
Go to Seetings——Accounts——Access work or school——Add or remove a provisioning package——Add package.
I'll give you a “.ppkg” package, you can add it.

hi sorry for posting in old thread...
i've just updated my old lumia1020 to the latest w10m version 10.0.15254.369
i was hoping that in this version that the static ip option was enabled by default...
i was wrong...
need static ip option badly since my home and office wifi need to manually configure the ip/dns setting before i can use the network...
is there any way to configure static ip without interop unlock (or is it safe to use wp internal to unlock root with my current w10m build on nokia lumia 1020?? i update them using iutool method)

These settings aren't available in Windows 10 Mobile 1703+ due to new WiFi menu. But the old one isn't deleted, it's just hidden. You can use Interop Tools to run it and to change Static IP settings there.
Go to Interop Tools - General - Applications - Package List (swipe left from Deployment options). Find WiFi package there, tap on it and use Launch App button to open it. There you can find Static IP settings.
Of course, you must activate Static IP settings at first. You can use the tweak in Interop Tools for it or the provisioning package (you can find it, for example, here).

How to change the mac address of a fire tv stick 4k

hallo
I want to change my mac address of my fire tv stick 4k (Fire os 6.2.6.5) to a specific one, but how can I achieve that?
Short story: I have 2 Amazon fire Tv sticks 4k and the one has a license for an app. I want to use this app on both devices without having 2 licences. But how could I change the mac adress of the 2nd one to the adress of the 1st one
Has anyone an idea?

MAC adresses and all this stuff are located in the mmcblk0boot1. To modify them you can use the binary that Amazon implements in /system/bin (vendor/bin) if mantis has vendor partition. Basically in a root shell use the tool "idme".
Regards.

To change your WiFi MAC:
Root device.
Connect to pc, open command prompt & type:
Code:
adb shell
su
idme mac_addr <[B]NEW MAC ADDRESS WITH NO ::: [/B])
reboot
After the device reboots your WiFi MAC address will be whatever you set it to.
Edit: I just read your first post, this this also means one won't connect to your WiFi as two devices on the same network can't have the same MAC addresses. It's also against XDA's rules to discuss piracy, so I recommend you just purchase the app again for your other device.

thanks for the answer I tried it through the ADB. Idme returns that I have no Permissions for that folder. So I probably need to root my device first. But how is it possible the access a root shell with the Fire tv stick 4k?

Thanks for your reply too Its not about piracy, I have contacted the vendor regarding my issue and he said that he is not able to give me a 2nd license. If I want to do it on the MAC-Way - its up to myself. So no worries ^^
All in all the question is: How can I root the 4k Stick without to dismantle it I would really appreciate help

I don't think you can root without unlocking the bootloader & to do that, you need to open the device: https://forum.xda-developers.com/fire-tv/orig-development/unlock-fire-tv-stick-4k-mantis-t3978459
As I said before though, if your devices have the same MAC addr, one won't connect to the router.

For non german readers: "Entwickleroptionen" is german for "developer options".
You clicked multiple times on the build number and then it asks you for a password?

If you know where that password is being stored, yes.
Else you could try to somehow create a shell script that automatically tries every number combination.
Thank you sooo much for trying to help!
Unfortunately i don´t know where the password is stored and i dont know how to wite this shell script and how to install it :-(

You don't install it, only run it.
Try 123456 please. (I searched "android car radio developer settings locked" by the way.)
Also try m123456 or any of those.
It must be something of that, please!
Edit: The one with the 'm' doesn't make sense since you only have a number pad.
