Just Installed Android, few Q's - Touch Pro, Fuze Android Development

Hi guys, thanks for making this so easy and flexiable. Nice to have the functionality of HTC desire on the Touch Pro.
Have a UK GSM Touch Pro with android install. XDAndroid 2.1 (rel 2.5a)
Questions?
Cannot seem to be able to go back, have to keep hitting the power top button which takes it back to the main page.
With windows mobile you could press the left arrow and it would go back to previous menus.
The house pictured button doesnt do anything, reject / cancel call take you to the unlock phone page.
I am on the O2 network, the phone works fine but states I am on BT Cellnet.
Don't get any icons flashin for alerts, IE sms, missed call, emails.
Thanks

Seriously? You felt the need to create a separate thread for this? Did you do any reading in any of the other threads? I don't expect you to read all 1000+ pages word for word, but search is always your friend as well.
I urge you to use those tools, and then if you have a question post it here instead of making another thread. Thanks!

thanks arrrghhh.
I have put in too much time and setup threads for people to go and ask questions / report and whatnot accordingly. Next time please post in the QA section which can be located here:

the way messages are organized on XDA-developers ...

one thing I am lacking whilst reading XDA have been cross-forum postings, i.e. when posting one message and it fails into different categories (of XDA Developers) I need to make a decision where I need to put it, and I can put it only in one place at a time ... as there is virtually no possibility of sending one message to diffrent forums at a time, when any response arrives it is visible in all the forums at teh same time
different forums have been read by various people, some spend more time on let's say "general" and much less on "using it" but actually knows exactly what I have been looking for, but I misses the answer as he rarely visits other forums ... hmmm, I am curious whether I am expressing myself clear enough, heh
utimately I'd love to see the same functionality newsgroups have, when I post a message to 3 forums (A,B and C) ... and when one answer to my post has been made (make it newsgroup A), it is visible on groups B and C as well
anything that can be done with respect to that shall increase knowledge sharing (at least that is my impression)
regards, monika
so in other word you mean post the same message in all forums......
bit poiuntless isnt it? the mods try to cut that down? why not just make it one big topic...
way i veiw this site is by view posts of last day then view by last visit ect... that way i can keep up to date
no, rather to make all the forums look more transparent .... not just attached to one forum where the message has been originated (written) but let's say ... having a choice of placing the massage in either one forum or up to three, because:
1. it is not always clear where to put them
2. not everybody read all the threads, not all the groups :?

Is there wm5torage for wm6?

Yep, is there wm6torage?
hotplainrice - you have 6 posts on this forum to your name. And of those 6 - 4 are new threads. I have posted nearly 200 times and only felt the need to create a new thread ONCE.
Creating new threads when the subject hasn't been covered - OK.
Creating new thread off topic - not OK - find the right site.
Creating new thread becasue can't be arsed to see if there's an answer in the many available threads - not OK
Creating new thread because my crack for illegal software doesn't work on x ROM - not OK.
Think about how the forum works - and you'll understand why.
Post this question in a forum that talks about wm5torage
Okay nealed, understood.
Btw, wm5torage works.
Another one before I get discouraged, which forums do I go where people talk more about applications?
None...You just should read more before posting
Wish theres a manual for the search engine.
Example:
I'd search for 'phone pad' in thread title and it'd return any threads with the words phone or pad individually. How can I get threads with only phone pad in it?

You can put quotes around the words to make sure they both occur and in the correct order.

Chome Action URL and icon number for IE

I'd like to edit or create a sliding panel in Ookba's latest EVO ROM release for IE. I have an idea of how to do it (or at least try) but would appreciate it if someone could post the action URL needed for IE and the icon/picture number. With those I think I can get into trouble on my own. I did a semi-serious search but didn't turn up anything that helped me out. Thanks in advance.
You guys are not following the rules!
This is a 3VO Rom question, and it should be posted in the proper thread , not make a new one.
All you guys are doing is making more clutter , more amount of results , when someone does a search. Please keep questions in the proper thread.

True Speak!
In genral the front page has become multiple "questions already answered" & "even non smartphone related outside of appropriate thread"
Yeah i'm b*chin
b.t.w roloracer your service icons look sweet
Okay, delete/move thread since I don't have the ability to do it.
Nailed On Da Cross !!! Lol
The funny thing is that in the time it took you to type up your admonishment I'd be willling to bet at least one of you (if not both) could have provided me with the info I'm looking for. Maybe a "Please keep all related threads together and by the way.." response. Just and idea. Everyone, including you, was a noob once.

[Q] Viewing new posts in which you have participated

Hello, this is the only vBulletin forum that I browse(I'm more of a SMF guy, I use it and develop for it) and I can't find the place where I can see new topics in which I have participated(Tapatalk does this for this forum). Is there a link where I can see the new topics?

A couple of things you can do:
1
Subscribe to threads you are interested in and receive email notification of new posts being added.
2
Bookmark your profile page http://forum.xda-developers.com/member.php?u=1153710 and in there go to the statistics tab>Find all posts by. Then by clicking on your posts you can see if there have been any replies.
Not sure if these links might work also:
Find all posts by Dragooon123
Find all threads started by Dragooon123

im using subscription witout email, means i can go to my user cp and i see all threads i subscripted that have new posts
so i dont get too many emails but see all new replys..
The question is,
why does the XDA app offer this feature,
but the full version of the board does not?
I could theoretically run an emulator, run the XDA android app, and use this forum MORE efficiently than actually turning on a laptop. I use the 'participated' area every single day.
That seems backward. There has to be a way to pull this data to a web browser, if it can be pulled to an Android phone.

You should set your usercp so that it will automatically subscribe to threads you reply to (without notification)
Then go to http://forum.xda-developers.com/subscription.php?do=viewsubscription&folderid=all to view them.

Sorry to dredge up an old topic, but I haven't found an answer to the same question, and this is the only time I have seen it have replies. Finding threads posted by a user will not do the same thing, the participated thread button in the tapatalk or xda app does. One should not have to subscribe to every thread either, that would be pointless considering that is for threads you REALLY want to follow.
The information is accessible to the app, which means ultimately it would be easy to implement on the website, and it is counter productive you can only find it in app. The best answer I have is find the posts in the app, but if I have to post something longer, or with links, I have to find the thread on the website.
As popular as this site is, this feature would improve quite a bit.. people(maybe more noobs) would actually follow threads they've posted questions on, so the replies aren't a waste of time. How many threads have multiple people asked for more details and the OP never replies.. Subscribing to threads would only work on any new posts, and some of my oldest ones I would still want to know activity for. This all seems obvious.

mapping Optical Trackpad press

I was playing with my friends Nokia, and his hardware keyboard allowed him to turn on his flashlight (camera led) by holding down his spacebar.
So I was thinking, is there anyway to map the optical trackpad press on our dincs to do this?
Ideally when the screen is on/unlocked you would hold it down a few secs to turn it on, then hold down a few secs again to turn it off. Also if the screen was off/locked, then hold it down to turn it on but have it turn off the second you stop holding it (for accidental pocket presses).

judging by those two threads this doesn't seem very possible. is that what you were getting at? because you probably could have just said "remapping doesn't work"

Personally, I appreciate it when people provide me links to more information than a single line summary like, "remapping doesn't work."
But I'm sorry that I inconvenienced you with having to read other discussions.
You're welcome for providing you the information that you were too lazy to search out on your own.

Actually, what I was primarily getting at was the fact that at least two recent discussions cover this topic, and that information was there for the taking if you would take a few seconds to search / read.
There's a reason that the forum software tries to find similar threads every time you create a new thread. There's also a reason why the forum asks you if your thread is a question when you create it.
Finally, this doesn't belong in Development, since you didn't develop anything.
Since you like things summed up, here you go:
"Your issue has been discussed multiple times recently, it is a question, it doesn't belong in this subforum, and you may or may not have this thread locked or receive a temporary ban because of the aforementioned rules for this subforum."
Hope I didn't waste too much of your time this time.

Indeed. I just didn't appreciate rmoney's dismissive response to what I thought was a helpful reply: providing him with relevant links.
