WOOOOOOOOW a desire rom for an evo

What country has a keyboard with the letters 'n' and 'd' next to each other?
"Leard" and "androin"?
Download a rom from this forum and install that (try Fresh). You got a rom for the wrong phone.

Questions go in what section? Development? NO.

wrong forums....q/a is a couple above this thread

Good thing the file you flashed didn't have a radio or you'd likely be the proud owner of a shiny brick. Go here and flash one of these: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=712695
I'm guessing you're stuck at the boot screen because your boot.img is for the Desire and not the Evo.

thanks guys sorry my first post .

There's nothing to be sorry about. Simply put, you would have gotten the same help had you posted in Q&A.

::cough:: apparently first time reading too

Help...in Completing the Kraiser Effect!!!

Hey everyone first of all i would like to thank all of you for all the amazing info. you guys really helped me with unlocking the phone took me almost the hole day as was getting errors but now that's set......the help i need is in firstly answering certain questions .......
1).....Is it true that if I flash my Rom again I dont have to worry about it getting locked again.
2).....When BootLoader Mode shows SPL-1.0 OliPof means I am ready to flash any Rom right? Or should I go through CID unlock.
3).....If I flash my Tilt with an HTC Rom will I still see all those ATT Logo and 3G Splash screen and will I have all those useless ATT software.
4).....If something does go wrong or I dont like the new Rom can I flash back; the reason I ask is because some said that you couldnt. Are there a lot of issues using an OFFICIAL HTC ROM... or have they all been fixed.
5).....Has the Keyboard Issue been fixed yet for the HTC Rom or not.
Thanks,

I would ask in the Cyanogenmod thread, and there doesn't seem to be any in this forum.
also if you have a rooted droid this isn't your forum. this phone is NOT a droid. it is however ANdroid powered. you have a samsung galaxy s2 epic touch 4g. not a droid. also I would go ask in the other forum as well.

What recovery are you trying to install? the -eng is unfamiliar to me.

Did you press volume up to confirm the update?
Just make sure you rename the recovery file to PC36IMG.zip, put it on the root of your SD card, boot into bootloader, them press volume up to accept the update.
Hope this helped!

What is that "-eng" at the end of the op's PC36IMG? I've never seen that?!
It means English...no seriously it means English
You must mean unlocked. If you had rooted, you would already have a custom recovery because you flash from custom recovery to root

hmmm...I have never seen that, I was thinking perhaps it meant Engineering, as in hboot eng blah blah blah.
I learned something new today!
But---English??!! English what tho?
Some updates are regional, it happens but I've never seen it on with HTC. I've mostly seen it with Huawei and a few international phones that are for a specific region, think of it as a language pack on windows
gbdavidx you should read my guide Don't Panic, it has all the info you need. The link is in my sig

Good to know...I just wonder what recovery the op is trying to install? I thought all recoveries installed via hboot just had to be renamed PC36IMG.zip...whether it be Amon, Smelkus etc....
Thanks for the answer tho!:good:

Scratch that, I saw it once with my sister's GSM Evo 3D. When I told her I had never seen that before she was pretty pissed

And I just looked at your "Don't Panic" link...that is AWESOME info...I'll read more tomorrow...VERY informative...that should be stickied in this forum also (saw it was in the Evo LTE forum, but most, if not all applies to the OG Evo eh?):good::good::good: I bookmarked it!
Yeah it does, HTC has pretty much the same boot loader for these phones just different variations. I'm so tired I clicked into the wrong forums lol

Well, your tiredness led to me being more informed and I appreciate it...(btw the last couple sentences in that guide---HI-LARIOUS!)
Now, go to bed:silly:
I left to computer to hit the head and my gf added those last 2, I went ahead and left then there. She's absolutely brilliant!
Edit: I've been out of the game for about a year and a half but most of the relevant knowledge is there in regards to HTC Unlock method. It was originally more of a universal guide. I started aiming it towards LTE users since thats what I have now. You guys are free to take my guide and tailor it to the Evo 4G. I would love to do it myself, but like I said I've been out for a year and a half and trying to play catch up with a device I no longer even own will be very frustrating lol
Edit: the fact that I can even write a guide that applies to such a broad range like htc is because understanding the theory helps. Half of that guide could easily apply to Motorola, Samsung, lg. But like I said I began to aim it towards the EVOLTE

[Q] I don't know exactly what is wrong HELP!!!

I have an HTC EVO V and I have unlocked the bootloader, however, when I attempted to 'flash a new ROM' the file called for 'CWM-SuperSU-v0.87' -however- I saw the upgraded version 'CWM-SuperSU-v0.96' so, instead of using the prescribed file I saved the new one instead to my phone. I then 'deleted the cache' and if I remember correctly my phone screen went the white background with green lettering and was stuck on that screen for probably 10min? So, I took out the battery and I had my stock ROM but when I went to change clocks, my widget clocks were gone and also, I am trying to flash the stock ROM to get them back I guess? But, I am unable to flash a ROM now or even root my phone. I hope I have not soft bricked it! I know it's probably just a file that needs to be uploaded or something but I don't know what to do to fix this and if someone helps me here I promise I won't do it again! Please help me! I want to root my phone but I don't care about flashing a rom now I just want my phone to do whatever I want and when I am more comfortable with flashing ROM's then I will try that but for now Rooting is all I need with my original ROM.
What method did you use to unlock your bootloader?
I don't know exactly what is wrong HELP!!!

OK, I am not trying to spam and I am a new member -well old but I have never posted before that I can remember- But here is where I fonud the info for the process htcevohacks htc-evo-4g-lte-root how-to-root-htc-evo-4g-lte unlock-bootloadertwrp-recovery/[/url]
I brought it up to the point where I erased the cache. Then I am not exactly sure what happened after this. But it was stuck on the white HTC screen.

That method is for the EVO 4G LTE. The forum for that device can be found here:

Try to flash a version of InsertCoin LOWER than 10.
The one ur trying to flash is a JellyBean rom and there is a specific process u have to follow in order to work.
For now i suggest u stick with ICS roms
Sent from my JellyBean Renovated HTC One X Quad-Core Beast
I have managed to install another Rom, following a different process which was very similar to the one I initially used, except for the flashing firmware part, which I missed at first. Now I'm on android revolution hd 12
And must say very happy with it
Now I just new to learn how to flash mods, which I'm still looking into it
Thanks for your help
