TMobile TP2 Device Ident Name??? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Hey all,
Im trying to use Rhodium Keys Remapper in a ROM im making, and for some reason it is not working.
Im thinking its because i have the wrong [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Ident] Name set.
Can anyone verify what it is for the TMobile TP2?

Do you mean with a stock T-Mo ROM? On my T-Mo (USA) TP2 that reg key says "fireSTORM LEO", but that's because that's the custom ROM I'm running.

I don't know if it helps, but the Model ID of the T-Mobile TP2 is RHOD210. You could also try Rhodium since that's how the TP2 is usually addressed in XDA software.

Thanks everyone, im gonna try out RHOD210, im hoping this is what was preventing the Rhodium Keymapper from working on my ROM!
Take care.

Extended Rom unlock and Intent cab??

Has anyone been able to figure out how to unlock teh extended rom on the Dash (actually more specifically the s620/excalibur)?
The reason I'm asking is I'm looking for a cab for the intent midlet manager. I'm curious to see if it handles the high mem version of opera mini better than teh default esmertec one does. I'm not patient enough to wait for their "fix" I guess
TIA
there isn't an extended ROM in the smartphone OS.
*BUT*
The high memory version of Opera mini works great on my Dash running the S620 OS.

sweet. does that mean you wanna trade!!
apparently the problem is in the midlet mgr tmo usa bundled, hence the request for intent.
thanks tho

Why don't you just install the HTC ROM?
re-read my post. I own a Dash and loaded the s620 FW on it. Best think I ever did.

Ah I missed that part. I received teh reply notification while I was in the car. Typed teh reply at a red light
I've debated bewteen installing it or not. Here's my reasons why not:
1) I'm cheap. I don't know if I wanna spend the $40 to unlock.
2) This is the first smartphone I've bought from tmo. I'm still nervous about voiding any warranty. I need to research a bit about being able to either reflash to the stock tmo rom or backing up my rom to a microSD like I did with teh MDA, as well as being able to CID lock my phone again just incase I have problems.
3) I'm coming from an MDA that I've flashed probably 15 different times. Its a slippery slope to Phone geekdom once I start.
We'll see what happens, thanks for the tips tho. (Eliminating xT9 would be nice though...
Reasons to unlock your phone and flash the s620 ROM on it...
1. the original T-Mobile ROM is available so you could always go back.
2. I'd pay T-Mobile 40 bucks if they'd tell me how to at least turn XT9 off permanently!
3. I hate carrier branding.
4. You'll get that good java client you want
5. You know you want to
6. You'll be able to use *ANY* ROM that comes out in the future.

go to this link to download

My understnding is the HTC ROM doesnt support teh push and hold feature to get teh alt of each key?? I've really gotten used to that now.
that is correct, no push and hold. The only other thing that is wierd in the s620 ROM is when you're surfing a mobile webpage where you can hit a number for an option instead of highlighting and selecting it, it doesn't work. Typing 7 to delete your hotmail works on the T-Mobile ROM but not the s620 ROM. No idea why.
*BUT*
That XT9 irritated me SO much, I don't care what I lose. Losing XT9 is the best feature of this ROM and my main motivation for doing it. Also, you get the native JOGGR functionality back (which is a little buggy and slower than using the D-PAD but I digress).
It is a very solid ROM and the Intent Java client is a nice bonus.

can you confirm this that no such extended rom on smartphones
yup. There is no extended ROM on Smartphones but POF can probably answer better than anyone.
I'm saying there isn't... But I've been wrong before.
-Mc
i think you are!
there is other smartphone with extended roms and to clarify to those who do not know what extended rom is ,when its visible on your device it is a folder with all the applications and carrier settings in it ,that when you hard reset your device they are installed, and one thing is to find how to make it visible with file explorer and another is to unlock it to be able to copy the files some where else ,!!!

Cingular Push To Talk on Windows Mobile 6.0

Apologize beforehand for the n00bness. This is my first post and I'll try and keep it clean. I've been trying to get push to talk working but for the life of me, it's no go. Originally the plan was for me to try to get it working with Custel's Windows Mobile Black Cingular Edition, but I can't figure out how to get it from the regular Cingular edition to Custel's GREAT cooked version. The way's i've tried are as such:
Taking out everything from the Extended Rom and identifying the PTT *registry?* cab and installing it.
Going into the Device\Windows\PTT and the Device\Windows\ Folder and copying all the necessary files
Nothing seems to be working. On another note, I can't seem to get VoiceBuffer to copy over. Any ideas? Thanks in advance guys! And the march continues~
Even if we can get PTT working, would we only be able to use it with other cingular customers? Or people with other carriers also?

Only cingular customers.
If you search you will find your answer as to why it does not work. If it was that easy it would have been functional a long time ago.
Hey Custel!
Thanks for Cingular Black!
Yea i'm still trying to search and figure everything all out. I feel technologically retarded right now.

No problem, going to have cingular version based off of my rom tomorrow some time as well .
If it has PTT I'll love you. The Cingular Black Edition you put out is almost PERFECT for me, except the whole PTT thing, it's driving me mad!
So I have been searching for two days and I can't find the PTT install cab. Where is it, I just did a WM6 ROM and I would like to use PTT as I use it for work. Anyone able to help

yes...
YOU CANNOT USE PTT ON WM6!!
as it requires editing the rilgsm and ril.dll's that control the radio interface layer (RIL) for PTT to work...
Well...... um that was nice of you. Thats all anyone needed to say. Thanks for the subtle answer

the ril's from wm5 work on wm6... the app will also run on wm6... there is just one slight problem... no one can get the PTT button to work... however there may be a solution soon, the cing/att Kaiser rom that was posted by incognitho is wm6 and has PTT.. people are working on porting that over to hermes, if all else fails i keep hearing that att will have a wm6 rom for hermes in july (i dont think it will be for the public, but i could be wrong)
Quite honestly, PTT would be nice but not necessary for me. I currently have an LG 400 on my business plan (6 phones) and well...I don't need it on my 8525 right now, except to stop carrying 2 phones with me.

I'm trying to find a ROM that won't cause me to lose all the stuff that came with my Alltel Touch... I don't care about the junkware obviously but I don't want to lose the little extras and whatnot when I move to 6.1... =\

what exactly do you mean? what "stuff" came on your alltel touch? obviously, flashing also comes with the effects of a hard reset. you might try blee's vogue kitchen to get it just how you want it, seeing as how virtually the only benefit of 6.1 pro edition is threaded sms.
if you want that that badly (threaded txt), take a look at these threads:
http://pdaphonehome.com/forums/ppc-6800-xv6800/90614-palm-threaded-sms-wm6.html -palm threaded sms
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=17410 -method to move keyboard to desired location...no longer have to have kb covering input area.
currently using the WM 6.1 w/Sprint version and "so far" all is well. sat nav software (connected to GPS Receiver) is working, office mobile works, windows live and WM 6.1 threaded SMS is also working. native touch keyboard/keypad is working, but i'm using Resco's keyboard w the iSkin. thanks to those at PPCGeeks for the making this available to the Sprint Touch owners.
So far, so good here as well. I have found a few annoyances, but I don't think they are WM6.1 related, I think they relate to additional programs that were pre-installed with the rom. I'm going to try and use the clean WM6.1 rom, along with BLEE0125’s kitchen to get only what I want, we'll see how that turns out.
Otherwise, I haven't noticed anything that would keep me from continuing to use WM6.1
3 cheers for No2Chem
EDIT: I guess it would help to mention all the additional programs were due to the use of JD's 6.1 Fury rom, not No2Chem's rom directly (sorry if any confusion) - But I've since then, went back, now using No2Chem's clean rom with a touch of my own flavoring. Everything is great now!
Wolf,
I just installed No2Chem's ROM and it is very stable, with only minor adjustments needed. I would be very interested in your cleaned up ROM... The more junk OUT the better. I'm tempted to play with the Kitchen myself... I need to study how the kitchen works. Blee gave a nice tutorial, but there is obviously more to learn...
DJ
I would give this a try but considering I have a Telus Touch, there is no stock rom that I can go back to if I am not satisfied. Apparently, the rom flasher won't backup the existing rom. Does anybody know how to backup the rom on a cdma touch? Thanks!

Need stock 6.1 for AT&T Tilt 2 (or something similar)

Sorry for the noob question but I'm new to the Rhodium. I need to flash a bunch of AT&T Tilt 2s with winmo 6.1. I looked at the wiki and I don't see a 6.1 rom for AT&T. Does anyone have any experience with the WWE HTC 6.1 roms for Rhodium on the Tilt 2? I'm concerned there might be locale issues and so on.
I won't have access to a test device until the day I need to get this done, hence why I need some advice
I think this is the one.
http://shipped-roms.com/download.php?category=windows%20mobile&model=Rhodium&file=HTCTilt2ATTOriginalShipROM.exe
Got it from here:
http://shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=windows%20mobile&model=Rhodium
How can I tell if that's 6.1 without flashing though?
Sent from my SPH-P100 using XDA App
Everything I've found online indicates that AT&T shipped the Tilt 2 with 6.5 from day one. Therefore, linking me to the shipped rom from AT&T isn't much help :\
I still need to know if the WWE roms from HTC will work reasonably well, I need this for work purposes and I can't ship phones out to people unless I know they're not going to have a Euro keymap or something!
That's correct, Tilt2 never had a WM6.1 official ROM. It was released with 6.5.
If you flash the WWE, it will have the keymap for the Euro version. The ATT keyboard layout is unique, since they changed where the number keys are, versus the layout for every other version of the TP2.
This CAB will configure the keyboard properly on just about any ROM:

And click the "Thanks" button on my post, please!
Out of curiosity, where did you find the stock 6.1 ROM that you flashed on your Tilt2s? I've always wanted to put 6.1 on my Tilt2, but never got around to it. A link to what you used (besides the HardwareKeyboard cab) would be much appreciated.
EDIT:
I believe I found where one is found via a previous post above. (I thanked it by the way.) I'm currently downloading: RUU_Rhodium_HTC_Europe_1.19.401.0_Radio_Rhodium_3.44.25.27_Signed_Ship.exee and going to flash it in a while.
