High Speed Micro HDMI to HDMI adapter for HTC EVO 4G - eBay (item 130412880785 end time Aug-21-10 04:28:52 PDT)
anybody buy one of these? thoughts? if not where did you buy from for a similar price?

I haven't tried any micro hdmi adaptors but a trusted source for cheap but quality cables is monoprice. It won't let me link directly but they have one for $4 before shipping. I bought a mini displayport to hdmi adaptor from them and it works great.

Not bad...
Micro HDMI To HDMI
I'd go with the cable for the same price rather than an adapter, any day.

Got mine cable off ebay for $4 with shipping. 6 foot cable

Yup. I bought two of them. I watched movies for 5 1/2 hours on my 82" Mitsubishi DLP TV and still had about a 1/4 charge on the battery. The adapter performed flawlessly!

That quality degradation is either the codec used in the phone to decode it or just a bad quality movie. The hdmi cable has no effect on quality of the movie. Its digital.

Here is where I buy ALL of my cables for my phones and accesories.
I got 3 gold plated 6ft usb cables and 2 10ft hdmi cables for my droid x for about $20. Shipping included.

+1 for monoprice.com
i just got my cable from them too

+2, 2 usb's and 1 hdmi 10 bucks with tax and shipping

+1 for Monoprice.
They have the best deals on any cable you might need.

Has anyone purchased or researched this yet?
I know that a regular HDMI 25' cable is about $15

But i need the mini HDMI to HDMI
I see ton's of them that are 6', but i want to use in my living room..
Anyone?
Monoprice has a 15' cable for $5.24.

This is about as long as I have found. You may have to use an extension cable for anything beyond 15'.
A 25' extension cable on Monoprice is $20.

Have you tested it?
Use a standard HDMI long cable and a mini to standard HDMI adapter. Amazon and pretty much everyone else seems to carry the adapters for reasonable prices.

Duh! That's a good idea
Don't know why i didn't think about adapter
Another option (if you got the 3.1 update...) is to use a bluetooth mouse. I do that when I hook my laptop up to the TV. a 15' cable across the living room will definitely aggravate the wife...
One other thought. Is the HDMI out on the Xoom micro or mini? Check on that before buying anything.
micro. I have the 10 foot cable from Monoprice and it works fine
I have the 15' cable from Monoprice and it works fine.
I would be leary of adapters on the Xoom side as that will put added strain on the XOOM connector.
I like the idea of the BT mouse/keyboard. That will solve needing a long HDMI cable. Now I need to buy a short cable as well - gee thanks!
I bought this 50' cable:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000QKKAPE
and this adapter:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00481C4RO
Both work great.
I may have to pick up that adapter. Since it has a short cable that will reduce any strain on the Xoom connector.
Thanks!
On second thought, $13 for that adapter is a bit too much. Monoprice has it for $3.
http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10419&cs_id=1041913&p_id=7603&seq=1&format=2
I'm not trying to push Monoprice, but they do have really good prices and everything I have ordered has worked great and shown up very quickly.
i have the 15' from monoproce and it worls great payed only about 10 bucks
I have the 15ft hdmi as well works great also got 2 15ft micro usb. Didn't spend that much at all compared to other shops.
Monoprice is awesome for cables.
I went with a $4 adapter from China and my xbox HDMI cable yeah I'm cheapo! and a BT keyboard with "integrated joystick-mouse thingy" I had, works nicely.

[Q] Full HDMI mirroring?

Has anyont tried out HDMI/ USB adapter on this yet? Is it full mirroring?
Using an MHL adapter does give you mirror display output. There is not enough power from the phone to power the MHL adapter, so you must use a power adapter.
I used an HTC MHL adapter. Check with Monoprice, they just started carrying generic MHL's.
Did u guys gets an adapter with your phone? Wirefly said I wasn't supposed to get one.
Uhhhhh... Last time I looked, Samsung wasn't buying HTC branded accessories and including them with their products! LOL!!
No MHL included.

Was only sent to certain reviewers u r missing nothing..... U must now purchase one..... Theres a couple links going around for cheap ones

Nope. They are cheaping out on us. Just the phone and charger.
The European version at least got some decent looking headphones, and I have seen one set actually have a basic leather case. The case might have been a reviewers special or something.
Best place I would recommend getting an MHL would be Monoprice. You can get them cheaper at Amazon or Ebay, but you get what you pay for from those places.

That would be an MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link)
Usb to HDMI with another USB port for power. I have an HTC version. Works great, must use power to usb port next to HDMI output. Some devices have enough power to drive the adapter. Unfortuntely, the E4GT does not.
What, not even headphones.

However wondering if there is any way to make the video quality playback better?
should one adjsut the screen density or any other settings?I have you tube and netflix playing well but not in that high of quality IMO

mhl/hdmi what works?

what cable should i be looking to buy for the MHL to HDMI converter. As in is there a specific brand that is going to be better quality then another? Being that the one offered through verizon is Ibolt and not a OEM product.

I purchased the Samsung HDMI/MHL adapter and it works, I don't know if the quality is any better then other brands (no ground for comparison).
I've been using the one from Monoprice. I haven't had any problems with it.

MHL cable, which one to buy?

I've read several discussions about MHL cable, some suggested to buy only OEM stuff, some say even non-OEM stuff works good.
Now that some time has passed, what's the suggested MHL cable to buy?
Go to monoprice dot com and get the one they have. Mine works great and it's like $8.
I ordered the Monoprice one as well. Does yours require a micro USB connection to a power source in order for it to display?

Its works fine
Don't know if monoprice ships to EU
EDIT: Yep it does but it's 30$ of shipping :/
I've heard a few reports of people finding their cables only seem to output 720 instead of 1080. Not sure if it's cheapo cable related, or what, but possibly something to look into before ordering.
I'm really looking forward to grabbing one of these cables and a bluetooth mouse & Keyboard.

Of course it would output 720p. It only outputs 1080p when you play a 1080p video. Either it works or it doesn't. I'm sure all of the mhl adapters will output 1080p when the phone should.

I have a genuine one, it's fine, but as you know you need a charger and HDMI cable. Wife's SE Neo has micro hdmi connector and she only need a cable (supplied) and that is definitely more practical.
Wondering if exist some MHL that works without power adapter ?!?!

Aftermarket Samsung Galaxy S3 MHL adapter

I noticed a lot of people are looking for a HDMI adapter but is boycotting Samsung's $40 adapter . I don't need an MHL adapter but for those looking for a cheaper alternative.

i want a cheap wireless one if you find any? i think that htc one runs also for s3:
http://www.amazon.de/HTC-H200-Wirel...HH70/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1342512147&sr=8-1
but 65 € is pretty much for using just for a few times...
Wow never heard of a wireless one before. I think that is a little over kill for me. I will stick to the wire one for now if anything. Thanks though.
no Chinese cheaper adapter yet??
I don't want to pay more than $10-12 for this

I seriously doubt it will work, the connector is different for S2 (5 pins) and S3 (11 pins), so if it says it works for both...
Maybe the 11 pins also work for 5 pins, but not vice versa

Yes, there is an adapter that will go from the 11 pin micro-USB on the SGS3, to 5 pin micro-USB, so you can plug in the micro-USB from an "old" MHL adapter.

I got the adapter for $10 with free shipping:
http://www.amazon.com/Original-Sams...id=1343326078&sr=8-1&keywords=mhl+adapter+tip
It lets you connect your old MHL cable (or a $5 one from ebay) to a galaxy s3 and still work. I'm using it and it works perfect.
Even if you don't have an old cable, this is still the best deal since it's $5 for a 5-pin cable and $10 for the adapter.

This is damn smart. I might go this route. Functional and it save a couple bucks. Thanks
Sorry guys, new to this stuff. So let me see if I go this right. Does it go:
SGS3 >> MicroUSB-HDMI Cable >> HDTV Adapter Tip (http://www.amazon.com/Original-Samsung-Adapter-Converter-EPL-FU10BEBSTD/dp/B0083FYL0O/) >> TV?
found a S3 ONLY MHL cable.
So this likely means that's designed with the correct pins and it'll work
