[game]Lineapolis for PDA 2.5 released - Windows Mobile Software Development

Here is my freeware game -ads free. Working probably at any resolution, especially tested on my HTC Touch Pro 2 480x800. No big graphics but I think good playability. So download from this thread or game website (search for version 2.5): www.lineapolis.dizzy.pl, play (in game is demonstration and help) and comment it - I wait for your opinion...

What game is it? How do you play this?
Never heard about such thing

I try explain my game but I'm not native English speaker... Principal game rules are simple. You need draw line by 5 adjacent points. On start it not possible so game rules allow add 1 new point for create line. You have some default set points on start, their number increases with the progress of the game. There is also bonus mode in game - you can store points for future use if you draw line by 5 existing points.
Idea is not new. Before computer times I play this game on boring lessons in school using only paper and pen. But i was not happy - I could not restore my best games, so I create computer version of that game - now I can save games, undo moves, reviews games, found hidden moves e.t.c.
Unique value of that game is that you can play just for fun drawing lines or can play in ambitious style and try get best score.
Peoples don't know my game because is unique in Internet - so many sudokus sokobans and other games for single players but no one has coded my favourite game. So try my game and give me opinion here, might you like it.

Thanks for this, I used to play your java version, but for some reason it stopped working on my hd 2, this works great!
thanks for releasing this as a stand alone cab file

I'm so happy that xda promoting my freeware software At last in win-mo you have nice icon. j2me is not bad language - very strict rules so code are runing fast even on old phones. This is framework version - is fast on fast devices. In j2me I was have trouble programming auto-player, I think you will be like this feature. And in this version at last I got idea how coding bonus mode and doing this!

Whats funny is that I lost my Phone in November, last year, used t oplay your game all teh time. Switched to Android for a while, hated it, came back to WM, flashed an NRG ROM, but was missing your game. Took me a while to find the Java Version, actually found a copy last week, but couldn't get it to work with the Java version I have on this phone. Was quite upset, and just about gave up, until today, that is, when I saw a Tweet about it, on my phone, and imediatly installed it. Still haven't figured out what Bonus mode does, or how it differs from what I am used to. Keep up the good work, and again, I am glad I can play this game again on my HD2. Maybe you can do an animatted GIF to show how this works, I am not getting it from the explination on your web site
The only thing i will say, is that on the HD2, it is a little hard to get the dots sometimes, even after increasing the screen size a bit, so sometimes it takes two or three taps to hit the dot I want. No way around this though, as the HD2 has no stylis. It still works fine, however, and if I am really lazy, I can just cycle through the hints until I find the line I intended, or see another line of interest, that I may have missed.
I will add, you should throw up a donation link, in your sig, or add it to the first post, as some people may want to donate a little token of apreciation...
For those who need an understanding on how to play, I ripped this of your web site:

Maybe you need calibrate screen on HD 2 if you have trouble select point? After adding demonstration game and simple help I think that this gif is no big useful but still OK. Read help and you learn what is bonus mode. Or often use hint and in medium game you can see "can store!" - This is bonus feature. With bonus mode You can get much better score eg my is 135! Or just disable bonus in config and play classic mode like in 2.2 In bonus mode strategy has changed - less thinking how to effectively draw lines - more thinking how get and use precious stored points.
2010-08-08: New 2.4 version released - worth redownload!

i personally would like a decent smooth (few windows mobile games have what i call a playable framerate) doodle jump like game. theres one going around recently called boing (i think) but its largely unfinished.
How about a speed camera application.
One similar to "CAMERAWARE" would be good, search google for CAMARAWARE.
Please i would like to see Vexed game remake on ppc with beter animation and so on...
How about a car valuation app, that be cool for the right ppl
You could make me a World of Minecraft Client for WinMo
AFAIK there isnt one and I'm hopelessly addicted to that game
edit: its java based so I could quite likely be wrong about there not already being one for winmo
How about making an application to test the polarity of a speaker. I have the on phase off phase test tone but need a software to tell it apart.
Thank you all for your ideas - much appreciated.
I'm not too sure yet which one I will be working on first - I will look through them this evening and make my mind up
Keep them coming!
Dude, I will drink a beer in your name if you make me a probably simple app./fix. I would love if you could somehow get the Audio Booster to work without putting a 3,5 jack in the phone. I use a bluetooth headset and i would love to run the Audio Booster over bluetooth.. music would sound so much better!! can you make this happen
t-pain/autotune app would be funny like iphone has
please make a last.fm client/programme.... I really miss this and it's not quite as good streaming it through skyfire
game wise - i'd love to see a bombjack game made with proper controls for WVGA - have a look at bombjack on MAME
iphone type app.... how about the magnifer glass app using the phones camera? (always did like that one)
Tower defense games are a lot of fun.
I'd also love to see an app that would allow me to easily create and manage playlists for music player apps like Slide2Play or Windows Media. Although if this already exists someone please let me know!
Once again thank you everyone, I will try my absoulute best to complete all these apps/games for you at sometime.
It won't be long now before I pick a app and build it - PROMISE!

Eye catch apps
Hello Dude so i have alot of Ideas but i can`t do them so here is what APPS/GAMES we need for FUN and etc.
1st. I already saw APP called BigBrother so what doing this application is to track your friends by the GSM Number and for that reason use the GPS google Maps for example BUT here is the funny thing that of course the program can`t track your friends by the number but can track you.. so when you are in a coffe with friends you can say hey i always know where are you, because i can track you by your number.. then they of course will say its not posible.. OK show them.. Just open the APP and simple write the Number of your friend that don`t believe you after few seconds the Exact Location will be displayed WOW.. the APP show the location of your device, but your friends don`t have from where to know this.. and for example when they are close to you i mean you are with the in the same place ... its looking like you really can track them anytime anywhere..
If app like this is made will be awesome, just to have a Nice finger friendly Interface and to look Serious like a Serious TRacking SPY Application.
2nd We need program who work with Fake Finger Prints... so i will give you example of one app you can create whatever you want.. using the methoud of visual apperiance..
Let we have something like Lock Screen with Finger Print Scaner.. of course this is not posible for real but who know this So for example your screen is locked.. when you wake up the device in the Center of your Screen will appear a square or some kind of button in that place you need to put your finger so this will have a delay of few seconds for example 3 seconds delay, because need to look like your finger get scaned ..
After you put your finger in this place the app will react on touch and will be writen SCANING PLEASE WAIT... after 3 seconds will appear a on the same place where was writen this SCANIN Stuff will apear APROVED or something like this and will appear a real Finger Print so nobody will know that this is not your real finger print..
With FInger Print Scaners can be done alot of super good visual apps to catch eyes and your friends or some iPhone fans to be really crazy with that.. this was just example of course.
3rd the Last but maybe the Best is Morphing the Voice in call, there already have app that can Morph your voice but you just can record a Morphed Voice and is very buggy for what im talking is a Morphing Your voice in real Time during Phone CALL, this will be extremaly good Software and thousend of peoples will NEED IT.
Imagine if you can call someone and to Morph your voice like you are Older, younger or Even Women LOL... this is really a Serious Software i know that can be made with sure just nobody take it serious to do something like this. Like i say now already have Soft Like this for WindowsMobile but its a BAD and its not integrated with the Phone Calls so you just can Morph your Voice for FUN not in a CALL and also there are just few samples to choice like Robot voice etc witch are bad so.. the Morphing voice is all from the Dicibels and etc if we have Soft like this intergrated to work in CALL and you can add into the Menu option like Equalizer with this methood everyone can do whatever settings he like and to make unique Morphed Voice from a Yuonger Girl/Guy to a Older almost everything.
The APP must to beLight not so visual good aperience need to work Faster and Smooth this is something that we really NEED and totaly will break all Other Devices and Apps.
4. Here already have similar apps like this but none of them is finger friendly and with good quality Sound so im talking about a Brain Wave Machine the app must to be with Some good interface finger friendly like a Music Player and to contain only the Brain wave Tones im speaking about ISOTRONIC tones because they are much better and they are the best from all Brain tones so in the Market already have with Binaural Beats but the Isochronic Tones are the best of the best, i can help you by provide you over 50 Diferent and Hight Quality Isotronic Sounds for diferent kind of MODS like from Euphoria, deep meditaion sleep, Chakra Balancing, and alot alot alot more just to integrate in that Player so just simple you need to start the APP and choice what kind of SOUND YOU want.
If you don`t know for what im talking about and the peoples wonder what this sound are here is some review for all of you.
Binaural Beats :
Sine wave generators are used to create two separate frequency waves which are introduced to each ear independently.
The brain reacts by creating a third tone which is the difference between the two. This allows the brain to directly tune into a frequency
that the ear cannot hear! The entire range of Alpha and Theta frequencies (between 5-12 Hz) have been tested extensively in several studies.
It was concluded that a specific combination of frequencies consistently caused a Shift In Consciousness!
Monaural Beats:
This technology uses two tones of equal intensity which result in a crisp and clean sound. Unlike Binaural Beats, Monaural beats are easier
on your brain because there is no need to balance the tones and your mind does not need adjusting time. Monaural Beats use a single tone that
pulses on and off in specific patterns, which is tuned specifically for the frequencies that produce the desired effect.
Isochronic Tones:
If you are looking for the most effective type of brainwave entrainment, Isochronic Tones are the way to go. Isochronic Tones also use equal intensity
tones, but the pulse speed is greater, causing the brain to synchronize with the rhythm. In 1999, Thomas Budzynski Ph.D. published a case in the
Journal of Neurotherapy which showed that a group of 8 college students increased their GPA with the use of audio brainwave stimulation,
and their GPA continued to increase even after the experiment was finished!
P.S i can play the sounds now without a problem with any Player on my Blackstone but will be even easy and beter they to be integrated in one single APP and you don`t need to search them everytime you wana listen. If you like the idea let me know i can provide all the tones for free. Till now NO SOFT like this is avalible, i mean with the best ISOTRONIC SOUNDS
I have alot more ideas so if you ask for more will write
Performance Computer Using G-Sensor
I believe it would be very fine if you could develop an application for calculating Distance/Travel, Speed and acceleration by using G-sensor. all the similar available application do this job via GPS, not G-sensor.
The hypothesis is easy. Acceleration data are available through G-sensor, then by integrating these data, velocity can be found, and by once more integration from velocity values, distance can be calculated.
Such application is very useful for engineers, and I'm sure soon after developing, it could be commercialized.
Minilyrics-like app
hello!
There is none lyrics app like Minilyrics for WM. The font is customizable, and easy for the eyes to read, the skin is great...but...but the Minilyrics buttons are super small! And the playlist is almost imposible to read and click unless u're using stylus! They seem doesnt want to upgrade the app since last year for WVGA resolution. I have to assign qwerty button to replace the play, stop etc buttons which are so small.
I love to sing along with the song, who doesnt? kareoke in the car, anyone?

[Q] why do the apps suck...

Im not dogging android im not trying to be a negitive nancy though i know somone will still smack me for it anyway....
(first and for most I DO NOT LIKE APPLE ITS TOO MUCH OF A TRENDY CULT) but they know how to-do some stuff the right way....
why does the android market suck so much I have had the hero now the evo and have LOVED both phones more then you want to know... but i just relized what me and my ipod touch compadrays lack... every week hes like OMG NEW APPZZZ and im like barcode scanner FTW??? or robo defence ftw............
im just estaticly happy we have such a great group of devs*xda-devs* because that makes the whole experience for me at this point because the exciting apps arnt exciting any more.......
if you read nothing else read this(what i want this post to be about) Why arent new apps popping up all the time... it seems like android phone are selling faster then they can keep them on the shelves but we cant seem to get developers to provide me with happs for me to spend my money on?
I am not sure how long you have had your EVO for, but outside of the top Free Apps, there are a few apps of interest, but it really is dependent on you. I will give you a list of what I use and why.
ADB Wireless - Needs no explanation.
Air Control Light - One of the best time wasters and is really addictive.
Album Art Grabber - gets all of your missing album art (Paid for)
Android Mate - a simple way for removal of apps you don't want w/o using ADB
Astro File Manager - have been using this one since G1. Its a good choice between that or ES File manager. (Paid for)
Better Cut - for individual shortcuts and main screen Icons.
Call Block - Needs no explanation.
Carr Matey - Great when your in a huge parking lot to help remember where you left your car.
Chrome to Phone- easy way to send Links/numbers/addresses from your desktop to your phone.
Dialer One- Great dialer replacement. I actually prefer the dialer in CM6 but it is not Sense compatible.
Documents To Go - Great to view Word/Excel and other M$ Docs as well as PDFs (Paid for)
Lets Golf - Great Game (Paid for)
Pandora - A must have. Is more valuable than a FM Radio App.
PhoneMyPC - Great for controlling my PC while I am not home. I can pull up documents on my PC and email them to myself, or turn stuff on, monitor my appt with my web cam and so on.
Solitare - Best game in the world
Robo Defense - Great Time waster
Truphone - VoiP Wifi to Wifi for speaking to my kids in Germany. Free!
Trillian- best IM program ever.
You really have to be in "need" of a program before someone actually designs one to fill that need. So basically your statement is why is there not cool programs. Name some of the programs you want/need, and then someone will tell you what might work for you. Also remember that Apple has 1-2 years on Android, and due to the fact that they only have to program for 1 phone basically, it is a lot simpler not needing to be compatible with 15 different phones.
I have to somewhat agree with you. I came from an iPhone and bought the EVO without even touching an android running phone before. While I do love android - most apps really, really, suck. You just have to find the apps that aren't complete **** - look at it as an adventure.
Thanks for the list above, too.
Oh, and in all my experances of freelance computer work...Overall, Java just sucks.
There's definitely some better apps on iPhone.. I miss my Mafia wars app, haha.. I'd much rather have android though.

Its what your used to. Everyone talks up the iphone apps and they certainly have the most popular ones (biggest market) but I soo prefer android over apple.
My current phone game is alchemy (not available on iphone)
thanks guys
I dont really have any particual needs my "needs" are PEGGLE and apparently zombies vs plants is also an awesome game.... they need to make an idiot proof music loading platform that will also assist me in finding games..... i just get soo sad when i see apps in the iphone/pad/touch marketplace that kicks ass,
I REALLY apreciate the list of games.... i downloaded some stuff off that list and am about to get my game on when i stop writing it....... ok I thought of my one and only true need::::

Java is a powerful cross platform language, but I have to agree that I haven't seen a lot of really blow your mind apps built with it (in the UI department at least. I've seen some amazing programming feats done with it, but UI usually is lacking in Java and Android apps) I think it has a lot to do with Java not being a very nice language to use. I'm having a horrible time learning it compared to other languages I'm working on. Of course I'm a programming noob, but still, C++ is so much easier to learn than Java.
Anyways, it has a lot to do with experience. I don't think a lot of Android programmers are really experienced Java devs, so that could explain some of the lack of appeal in a lot of normal Android apps.
From my own experience, a lot of the big name devs are making some great apps now with great UI's like Nook, Gameloft Games, Tweetdeck, etc. So I think the platform is beginning to mature, but there will always be crappy apps. Personally, I don't mind UI's as long as they aren't a pain to navigate and perform the functions well. Android apps are by far much more useful than their iPhone counterparts because of all the extra access and interoperability they have. If you haven't noticed, there are a lot of apps that build on other apps to get jobs done. Plus the way Android handles background tasks (unlike the iPhone with only allows about 5 different basic services to run) is amazing. There are so many useful things Android apps can do that the iPhone can't even touch when jailbroken.

The platform benefit died long ago. Code for it now hardly more portable than C. It's simply rarely used that way as well as having so many branches for a particular platforms extensions. A language is only cross platform if you can actually run or build programs easilyfor multiple platforms. Dalvik really shoots that one down pretty damn fast.

Exactly my point. Thank you for typing it out. Couldn't have typed it better myself. While Java is powerful, it's buggier than all get out. Everybody I know in the info systems world also hates it. I don't care for it it's really buggy and the UI is usually outdated, confusing and doesn't look good at all - usually.
When I've ran into client's problems, it requires a complete uninstall of it or the multiple installed updates, then reinstalling the newest update, or an older update because what they want to use doesn't work with the newest java update. :| It's especially annoying when they are trying to use two different java related programs and one only works with the newest update and the other one only works with an older update - just makes me day.
I'm not programmer, but why are the apps for android programmed with java? Android is based of linux, right? Are there not other prog langs that work with linux?
Come to think of it: There's not very many products that google has made that are very aesthetically pleasing to look at or use, but they work.

You can code with C or C++ if you use the NDK (Native Dev Kit). Im not sure if you can do the whole app that way or just parts but it just seems more difficult. But I learned java in a highschool class, and despite its failures, its easiest for me to use.
I definitely recommend looking for new apps using App Brain. As long as you're not strictly looking for games, I've found a lot of jewels in there I never would have found in the regular Market app.
The thing that gets me most is not the lack of apps, but the inconsistency among apps.
1. Most apps carry their own theme and UI and does not blend well with the rest of Android.
2. Software updates tend to roll out slower than the iphone counterparts.
3. Resolution of the icons in some apps are blurry looking. Again this is because of differences between the resolution available for Android phones.

I hadn't clicked on this thread yet because I totally expected some rant about something silly but I have to admit I do completely agree with the OP in that the market is not a good way to find apps. It's the place to GET apps but the "top" lists, paid and free, haven't changed much since I got my Hero last December..
I have never had an iProduct of any sort, and likely never will so I don't have any experience for comparison but I think the android apps are alright, no complaints other than FINDING them..
1. Google's Market needs upgrades, nothing major. Just add more and better ways to find applications. Sad a search giant has had difficulty getting this done.
2. Get AppBrain's application.
3. Android uses a Java flavored language, but not Java or even Java ME. This is why Oracle is foolishly suing Google.

They aren't using java, thats what he was saying with point 3. Android uses a different language which is similar to java, but not java.
Also java > *. Java is used in phones, cars, sterio systems, tvs, gaming systems, etc..

Method 2: (via webserver, or direct link from dropbox)
1) Upload the files to your webserver (or dropbox)
2) Hit the + icon inside vNESLight and enter the full link into the Url box and hit add. Support for zip, rar and nes files.
As always thanks for all the feedback and testing done.

Yeah that's what I'm most worried about as well, wish dev's had Mango already so I could do performance profiling on the phone, but at least it's possible on the emulator.

Looks like you're prayers were answered as dev's got it today apparently.
Aye still waiting for the invite e-mail for the Mango rom update, but I've already installed the new tools.
Currently pushing about 20-25 fps without sound atm, it's abit lower with sound.
Will be great to actually do some profiling on real hardware.
Did you receive your mango invite? I'm running the official Mango beta on my Focus.

Yeah, actually more or less done with the beta version for Mango already, you can seamlessly switch back and forth between the game thanks to the new multitasking.
I'm just trying to figure out how I'm gonna do the UI for the Nodo version.
As for the age old question on how to add roms to the app;
What I've come up with so far is, first you add all your rom files to a zip file called "nesgames.zip" then you open the xap file of the emulator in winzip (or another zip manager).
Finally you can just drag the "nesgames.zip" file into winzip to replace the standard "nesgames.zip" file and voila all your roms are added easily.

Do you get any better performance on Mango compared to Nodo? If you need a tester, I can help out.

Sadly it didn't really, but it's helped a great deal by beeing able to performance test on a actual device.
I'll get the Mango beta version up in a couple of hours, just need clean up a couple of things.
Ok, just wanted to bump the thread to let u guys know that the beta version for Mango is out:
http://nudua.net/files/vneslightbeta1.xap
Check out the first post for more details (Update #2).
Awesome. Going to download and try it out.
Very nice for the first beta. I'm getting about 26-30 FPS on the games I've tried so far on my Focus running Mango beta 2.
Pros:
I like the way you add games to the XAP.
Multi-tasks
Pretty fast
Cons:
Controls
If you reopen the app (via icon) while its running, it relaunches it from the start. I remember seeing a command that you can add that will make it open like it does from the multitask window.
One thing to note. I saw a post about mango got rid of the 30 FPS limit by adding a new line in the program. But I can't remember if it was just for XNA games or if it included silverlight. Not sure if this would help your or not.
Very good work so far!
Yeah the controls are extremly basic, will definitely make them work a lot better.
Gonna check into resuming the app while it's still running, sounds like a much better way.
Tried getting rid of the 30fps limit, but the problem lies with the cpu, can't run the logic fast enough.
Cheers for the feedback
I submitted this to WMPU and they have an article about it. Hopefully this will get ya some more feedback.
I've been messing with the emulator more and it runs much better than the other NES emulator.

Cool cool, yeah I originally checked out that sharpnes based emulator myself, but getting something like that up to par would be a lot of work, considering the original project is so incomplete.
I'm currently checking out various ways to speed up the code even more.
I got my trophy unlocked pretty much just for this... Do you have a list of games tha run fine or is there issues with some games ?

Since this is a port of mature emulator called VirtualNES, most of the mappers (MMC's) needed to play are already done, so most games should work just fine.
The only problem game I've seen so far has been with Kid Dracula, but it's pretty easy to modifiy any single mapper.
But keep in mind, this is still a very early beta.

Most of the games I've tried run fine. Maniac Mansion doesn't display properly in some parts, but I've seen the issue in many emulators.
I see the controls on the first page, I don't have a QWERTY keyboard on mine, is there on-screen controls for this ?
Also for adding/removing games, why don't you look into the USBdriver option ( HERE ). There is addon (works with Nodo and mango) where you can use your WP7 device as a USB drive (same folders as music and pictures), you can create a NESROMS folder in there and anyone could manually add or remove games with out re-deplying the app, just by connecting with USB and closing Zune.
Please hit thanks if this helped !

The controls in the emulator are touch only, as for the controls mentioned in the post at the top are for the Silverlight 4 version, I'll clean up the original post so there's no confusion.
USBdriver looks pretty interesting, but I really don't want to complicate things.
And there's no reason why you can't add your ~50 most favorite NES games from the get go.

[WP7] Game - Rain Will Fall (With Global Multiplayer + Ranks)[Marketplace]

Hello All
I am a new at Developing and over the months of learning C# and XNA most of my learning came from Developers Like you, XDA, You-tube tutorials etc.
This game is only for Windows Phone 7
This game has realtime Multiplayer where people will be able to go against one another! In this mode basically whoever survives the longest will win. This game will keep track of the players Online wins loss.. It has has a Ranking System where each player will be able to see each other's ranks. For now it has 6 ranks but in a later update it will be much more!
This game has a Story Mode.. A mission mode(Survival GamePlay) and Global Multiplayer Mode as well as Leaderboards and Gamestats where you can see what your highest score was online stats etc.....
In the Muliplayer Section the game is Designed that once you enter your name by defualt you will play as the defualt character. If you want.. If you Pm Me the name you will be using as well as a spritesheet you would like to be playing with.
I'll glady add it to the update. Once you input that name into Multiplayer your sprite will be your new character. Also keep in mind your opponent will be able to see the character your playing with! Cool huh!!
Sprite sheet specs must be a PNG..
24 frames going horizontal!

Nexus 5x. From noob to Master. [Seeking answers to advanced questions]

Since I am new I just wanted to introduce myself and ask that if anybody is capable of answering some intermediate to advanced device specific Nexus 5x questions including but not limited to hardware/software, as well as related questions to the community and the technology Market, I would greatly appreciate it. My goal is to go from apprentice to Master of my android device. More importantly, I hope to gain a better understanding of the technology behind the scenes and how specific functions are compiled and executed so that I can satisfy my curiosity as it pertains to my Nexus and also the community.

Ok. So maybe I will start with the question thats been nagging at me a lot lately. I've searched and found very little information pertaining to the topic of my interest.
Main question: What is a game Emulator, and how does it differ from something like Game Guardian or Game Gem??
My ballpark guess based off what Ive read is that an emulator is something that allows you to for instance play gameboy games on your phone, or old school nintendo on your phone. And on the other hand Game Guardian allows you to edit values in the game.
But the bigger question is how Game Guardian works on a broad scale. I would assume that simple games are pretty easy to change values. However, how would it work on more complex games such as games that involve servers and multiplayer and games that developers have taken action to try to prevent such applications from working? And what about detectability. I am a big gamer in my spare time so naturally I am curious about these things and how they work, what they work on, and what they may not work on.
I guess I should also mention that any of the info listed above may be wrong or slightly misleading. My main question is the question I've been scouring the internet in order to find adequate answers.
Thank you for responding to my post.
Respectfully,
CT
Like you guessed, an emulator is a program that emulates the hardware of a different machine, for example GameBoy or NES so that you can play games from those machines.
Game Guardian is an app that modifies the running processes (game in this instance) register values. There are similar apps for Windows. They work by you looking for the value you want to change in the register and then inputting a new value. For example you want to change your HP. Your HP is 100 so you look for that value in Game Guardian, if there's only one you've found the value you wanted. If there are several, you change your HP and then look which one of those values that matched the first time changed and you continue until you've found the right one. This method might not work at all with more complex games and multiplayer games that store/check the values on the server.

Understood. On the subject of compatibility, are more complex games, for arguments sake lets go with a well known game developer EA.... do their softwares and services embed methods detect and then terminate sessions when you attempt to access with a rooted device? I've heard about android pay, but are there other major apps that can do the same thing? And furthermore, are there any specific countermeasures one can take to bypass this.
Hi guys, quick update.
Happy to say I accomplished I have successfully made a custom recovery using twrp. I should note that I took my sweet time and read and watched so many videos so I was familiarized with the ins and outs.
Just gunna post the links I used cause if you are a Mac user, you will definitely want to take a look since the process is slightly different...
I used this how-to geek for my guide: https://www.howtogeek.com/240047/how-to-flash-twrp-recovery-on-your-android-phone/
want to thank SlimSnoopOS for this post which is Vital for people using mac: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=68758793&postcount=3
and I used this catalog to get the twrp.img that corresponds to my device: https://twrp.me/Devices/
Pretty happy I was able to do this right. Now I suppose I should evaluate my next move....
