When you unlock and swipe from left to right a light coloured bar comes out saying unlock on it, where is this bar? I thought it may be in framework-res but I couldn't see it. Anyone know where it is? Also same question for the vanilla call answer screen?

Not sure about the call screen, but I can help you with the lockscreen. Get widget locker from the Market, it costs $2. Using this, you can get the default vanilla lockscreen, even one like the iPhone if you want. It also lets you place widgets on the lockscreen.

No you really can't help haha... You're way off dude.
He's obviously asking for theme'ing purposes.
Unfortunately I don't know where it's located either. I'd suggest downloading and extracting a ROM that has the Vanilla lockscreen and wading through all that.
EDIT: Or just download the update.zip from the Desire Themes & Apps section that has the Vanilla lockscreen only. And find it within there. I'll be home from work soonish so I'll download and check it out myself when I get there.

Is it possible that the text itself is not an image but rather text that has been coded to pop up over the bar image?
That would explain why you cannot find an image for it.

Thats exactly what I think! I think its in colors.xml but I dont know which one, when I get some spare time I will experiment with it all.....

I am trying to figure out how to get my top bar to either be transparent, or black. Also when i go into NRG weather 3.0 options, the text is in cursif, as well as text in other places on the phone, totally unreadable. Anyone know how i can fix these two problems? Sorry if its been answered before, but i have searched, as well as just browsed 1000 posts for hours, cant seem to find a solution. Thx in advance for any help!

Yah I know, I still love this phone over the G1, only thing I wish this phone had was more Ram and of course 3G... that would seal the deal on the phone if it had that...
Fonts worked great! Thanks alot. However i cannot figure out how to delete the CHome_Iconbar_background file. Cannot delete it on the phone, or from the computer. I tried to turn off the iconbar and then delete, and that still didnt seem to work.

Which ROM you using? Guessin Ricky since then it would make sense you can't delete it since it's in the ROM.
If not then turn off the media Top Bar restart then try and delete.

Well i found ONE background that would make the bar transparent! So looks good now, not exactly what i wanted, but not bad. Now once i figure out how everyone gets the weather apps integrated with clock/date tab ill be all set

I was actually thinking last night b4 i went to bed that your Wallpaper was not the correct size as you had a green top and your selection on the second image was green, Glad you got it sorted.

the only way i know of is to use something besides sense like adw launcher
also if you use something like adw or launcherpro it will speed up your phone
bye you being able to hide apps from the drawer or you can make it slide sideways instead of up and down so it dont have to load as much i have cm6 rc2 and its senseless fastest most customizable rom

There's a thread floating around here somewhere on how to theme (which is what you're referring to, even if it's just limited to that one item) - you'l need a deodexed rom, but I think it's something you'll have to set up yourself.

to clarify, you wont need to deodex a rom if you get a rom thats already deodexed.
plenty of options out there.
and to the OP, the best way to theme your phone is by hitting the caps lock button, so its not on. ITS NOT POLITE TO TYPE IN ALL CAPS ON A FORUM.

See this thread, allows you to restore the stock 2.2 Android launcher. Otherwise LauncherPRO is excellent as well (its what I use).
I installed LauncherPro and the big clock is gone is there anyway to get my clock back and use the bottom icons from LauncherPro?
You need to install a widget for the clock. Either hold down on your home screen and select the widget, or download one from the market.

Do a search for "fancy widget". It's pretty much just like the HTC clock.
I recommend beautiful widgets because you can change the font/look of it to pretty much whatever you want, as long as you don't mind dropping a few bucks on it.
Is there any rom or flashable zip to change the phone app to something nicer?
I absolutely hate the stock answer screen, it annoys me that sometimes I can't pull the slider or it let's go of it. not to mention the dialer, it looks so crappy :/
Right now I'm on MIUI and the answer screen is absolutely perfect, but I'd like to get back on samsung fw with few mods, and this keeps me from doing that.

You can find some dialer apps on the market by searching for "dialer": https://market.android.com/search?q=dialer&so=1&c=apps

There is no way to change those. Only way is some themes that theme the sliders as well (but in the end, they're still sliders)

well the miui phone app is great, answer screen has a drag down slider, it's so much more confortable to use it.
I don't know.. maybe it's a problem with vertical drag or something, on miui you can also change lockscreen to be iphone style, it looks exactly, but if I drag the arrow it's glitchy while the drag down slider works flawlessly.
so, does the samsung fw support changing the answer screen to something else?

i have the EXACT same problem. also trying to find a other phone.apk, setting the home button as answer is NOT a solution.
Hanger you guys looked at Widgetlocker in the market, it will change the lock screen and answering sliders...
WidgetLocker does not change anything else than the lock screen.

I am trying to find an app..or see if its something I can do with UCCW. Id like to have a "folder" on my home screen that can scroll through the apps I put in there. For example, if I make a folder that goes across the home screen and label it games. I can put my games in and swipe through to see them. I guess best way I can explain is something like Nova's dock how you can just have a few pages to swipe through but your still on home screen.
You're able to swipe to open folders in Nova Launcher There is a possibility that you may need to purchase the premium version of it however.

You're going to need to elaborate on it. I tried to understand your question, but I myself am having some difficulty understanding you.
If I'm understanding you you want a widget that you can customize with apps to scroll thru that's how I interpreted that. If you find a solution please share

Pretty much that's it. I think you got what I meant. I don't explain it to well. Anyone ever use stardock Fences for windows? Guess that's the closest I can think of. Just picture placing 4 or 5 icons horizontally across your home screen. Then I can label it games. Then I can scroll left or right to scroll through all my games but I'm still on the home screen. If I find one I'll let ya know. There has to be a way with UCCW I just don't know how to use it well enough

In the Play Store look for Folder Organizer by Fabio Collini. I was able to create a 4x1 folder for games. I can swipe up and down to scroll through. However I could not swipe left and right and the swiping is not in an endless loop. Closest thing to what you are looking for that I know of. I have the paid version and do not know if the Lite version can do the same or not.

OmniSwitch only appears in Omni ROMs. Hence the name OmniSwitch in the title. If you want to get that, you could always look at the unofficial OmniROM thread in this subforum here. If you don't want to lose your current ROM that you're using, OmniSnitch is the alternative that you're looking for.

I use omniswitch on most of the ROMs I run. If they don't have it I just flash the apk. Always works for me.
