its not as rough as your thinking. its a smoother rhino. Not all sand papered out.

Ummm... yeah, I'll pass thx.

Lol! To each his own. Are you sure this isn't Fred Flintstone's phone? Pretty sure I saw him using it to call home from the quarry.
JK...way to pimp it out.

how is that ruining the vibrant? I didnt strive for it. Just have the capibilities to do it for free. thought it would help make it rugged. Its a case that was sprayed. This is the same lining that the military uses for their applications and i know it is more than durable for the apllication in which i applied it . almost like an otter box. so if you have a screen protector then this. . most likely would never dent or scratch. ive dropped it from 10 feet 5 times and nothing. It wasnt a FLIPPIN fashion statement. If i wanted something that was "pretty" i wouldve FLIPPIN bedazzled the phone.

My bad and i apologize.

@jtguthrie1 thanks for editing your post...please mind the rules...we are watching

Dunno if it's the lighting or the case, but it looks too glittery for my taste. Then again, I don't even know what it's made of.
Good thing you like it though.

My ear hurts already just by looking at this ... but kudos for being first, it's your phone, do as you please, and disgard the negative comments.
P.S. Is there a 14 days buyer remorse for this cover?

I f everyone liked the same thing we would all be using iPhones.
Personally I wouldn't take my slick new phone and make it look like a blacktop road but that's just me.

Here's my toned down version of this.

Should I apply my Zagg?

Okay so I have noticed that my bad ass EVO has the future doomed screen separation issue going on. Not to the point of where I can put a card under the edge like some I have seen but I noticed it so its there. Seeing that HTC has recently acknowledged it and plans on changing something during production of the next batch I have yet to apply my still in the box Zagg Invisible Shield. So I'm thinking it may be a few months before we see any new ones should I go ahead and apply the Zagg til then or hold off for a few months til mine can be replaced? I hate to waste it and new phones come in after I had recently placed the shield on but I also don't want to stratch my phone up either even if it will be replaced, just in case.
Sent from my EVO using Tapatalk
might as well apply it. just register your zagg on their site. so you can get a free replacement when the time comes. that's what i plan on doing.

Not a fan of the feel of the Zagg... BUT.. thats pretty awesome that you can register and get a free replacement!! I can appreciate a company for their business ethics and it will make me like their product more to know that they stand behind it like that!

I just ordered a Steinheil so we will see. They are a more hardened material (more like glass) than the rubbery feel of the Zagg (which is just a 3M material)

Waterproof Case

i dont think i need to say anything about this.... well maybe... wtf???

Not a bad idea if you're in a boat a lot (specifically a speed boat or other boat where you get a lot of spray). That said, it has very limited practical uses. These "cases" have been around for quite a while, though, with the various phones.
I didn't know this. They just seem cheaply made. Like a zip lock bag..

They are much thicker than a zippy. REI sells them as well as other outdoor retailers. To market this for any specific phone and mark it up is a **** move.

look into pelican cases. those things are solid. water proof and crush proof. i think you would have to take your phone out of the case to use it, but other than that, the cases work great.

you... THINK? XD
I bought one of these a while back. It works great except for if you leave your phone in it for a while, the case will ad hear itself to the screen protector if you have one and pull it off when you take it out of the case. Other then that I think it's a good investment if you're out on the water a lot. I can use my phone in the case as well.

Waterproof?

Are there any waterproof cases available for this phone as of yet? Would someone be so kind as to link me if there are?

I was jamming in the pool last week.. I was at the water park, waiting to go down, and checking facebook.. funny stuff to see the kiddies want to get a pice of it. haha
hmm i seen this before...never tried it out but looks pretty interesting. It doesnt water proof your phone but is suppossed to dry it out thouroughly in case it does ever get wet
Has anyone ever tried this product or type of product out? PLease let me know if anyone has tried this...I figured this thread would be appropriate to post in since it is about waterproof/and phones. I think if the product actually works it might be handy to have a couple handy at all times.

I bought the aqua dry bag, but haven't had to use it yet.
I am looking at getting the DryCase from drycase.com. They have a 100 feet depth rating, that's good for going diving as most everything is 65+ and higher that is worth looking at.
anyone have any reviews on that product?

the purpose behind this is normal silica gel, you can get this from most supermarket in a containner, alot cheaper than the dry bag.
I have also been looking for a waterproof case for my GS3, but not really interested in the film-bag things that prohibit long term use. I know they make some waterproof cases for the iPhone that can be used all day, every day, and I am thinking something along those lines would be perfect for our phones. I go fishing and hunting quite a bit and would love to get my hands on a case that offers some strong protection and is also waterproof.

Waterproof Cases

Has anybody found a waterproof case for the One yet? I'm looking for something similar to LifeProof for the iPhone or Otterbox's Armor series. It doesn't need extraordinary depth protection, just a few feet for use in the pool.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

It's not available to the public yet, unfortunately. Says that it would be added during the manufacturing process. It would be awesome if companies started using this tech!
Selling 1 Black Nillkin, 1 Gray Rock Case, 1 White Rock Case in a bundle..
Changed my mind about getting the phone.
Ships From the USA so you wont have to wait 2 weeks to get it...

I posted this before somewhere and I got laughed at just because I wanted to reddit in the shower. Made the Z so tempting but it's not coming out in the US so it made my One decision easier. Haha.
I just read into it a little but how does that HzO stuff work. The way it seems is it just puts a waterproof bond in every crease and crack. But that would ruin the speaker/grille as well as mess up the buttons so I'm sure that's not how it works. Anyone understand it better than I that would care to explain?

Liquipel has services for all phones currently. I saw them at the CES show and they have proven their technology. Google them and they have videos showing you the process.
Thank you much. Didn't even think about YouTube.

According to their website, this is not true. I was all excited there for a minute. My NS4G spent a night in a cup of water once. It still works just fine but I can't help but think I used any and all good phone karma right then and there.

[Q] anyone had this odd marking in the back?

Been absolutely babying my m8, when I took it out of a very soft gel case I noticed this. Its not a scratch, it won't wipe off, but it bugs the crap out of me. It looked fine till a few days ago. Anyone else seen this?
I'm no Heisenberg, but that looks like some kind of chemical reaction with the aluminium and the soft material and possibly some kind of moisture or humidity. Just my guess.

That is probably the most intelligent reply I could of asked for! You're probably right too! Any idea how to fix it or blend it so it looks better?

Other guesses will probably be better than mine, but what about having held it with fingers that had sun tan lotion (or some other chemical) soaked into them?
Definitely not something like that. I'm just surprised it soaked in / discolored it so permanently.
Oh well. Thanks guys!
warranty!
well i talked to telus a few times and they gave me a new one, letting me keep the old box, charger, etc
never did figure out why the phone discolored, but i'm pretty sure treetolber aka walter white was correct!
just wanted to update so this thread had some closure
