Weird problem - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys, I'm having this WEIRD WEIRD problem after messing around with the phone.
Here's what happened:
2 days ago, I received the phone. After unboxing it and playing with it for like 10 minutes, turning it on and off often, messing round with the features. Then, the phone rebooted by itself. After that, boot loop. It'd get stuck at the green HTC screen forever. I have no idea what happened, so I tried factory reset. Didn't work. Recovery, also stuck. So I brought it home and looked into rooting/flashing.
Now, the phone is running RUU_Bravo_hTC_Asia_WWE_1.19.707.7_Radio_32.36.00.28U_4.06.00.02_2_release_126179_signed. SOMETIMES, the phone would boot in and I would be able to use it, but most often it'd just keep restarting and then hang at the green HTC screen, or maybe get the quietly brilliant and then restart.
What should I do? I have the RUU for 1.19.707.6, but with that RUU, it keeps saying that it can't see my phone. Sigh.
I can get into fastboot, but no guarantee after that. What should I do? Can't bloody swap it, coz I imported it

sounds like a h/w problem to be honest

Is it possible that this is a firmware problem? I'd hate to have to send it back for repairs, cost a lot.
I did the heap-test command, and everything is ok. So where could the problem be?. Can't even boot using fastboot oem boot. Any ideas?
PS: I think I have the correct RUU for my phone. Always complete without a hitch.

HTC One X Update Gone Bad. HELP

Hi there, this is my first post, i didnt want it to be like this but i have come to you in desperation.
I was excited about 4 hours ago to realise my phone was getting an update saying it was going to imporve battery life etc..
Well i let it do its thing while it was downloading, i went to check after an hour or so and it said the software had been corrupted or something along those lines, either way it had to start the download again.
It was about bed time when this happened so i chucked it on the charger, fell asleep, woke up and it was doing something on a kind of screen i had never seen before, black screen, obviously showing that it is processing the update(i was a little tired from waking up) i think i remember taking its time maybe longer than it should have been.
I went back to sleep woke up about an hour ago from now and checked my phone and the screen would not turn on, i think the charger cable had fallen out from the phone because it is loose and does that some times.
So i placed the cord back in and it didnt seem to respond with the red led coming up for a while then all of a sudden it worked for some reason, but was flashing. i suspected this was because the battery had been sucked dry. So after a while the led stopped flashing and i pressed the power button, sure enough it powers up straight away to the HTC - quietly brilliant screen. And thats that, end of story. It's stuck on that screen WTF?
I have been through forums like these interested in changing ROMs and so on but it all seems so complicated i never even bothered, so obviously i am a noob, but i dont think there is any reason for this to happen other than sh*t luck.
Can anyone help us out?
Your better off sending for repair unless you want to start unlocking the bootloader etc.
Reboot your phone in bootloader ( press PowerButton + Volume down at the same time) you will get to a screen with various lines, look factory reset, navigate that menu with your volume keys. Hit factory reset you should get . See if it fixes it.

Well did it work? before you say that long thanks
Thanks for your help, unfortunately, the factory reset didnt work.
What happened when i first did it, the update screen came up like the first time but still ended up freezing on the quietly brilliant screen.
I'd be willing to unlock the bootloader, i really dont want to send the phone away for a third time. Why didnt i get the Galaxy S3!?!?!
I hate to ask, can u point me to the right thread to do that, there seems to be a few but they seem to have different purposes.
Thanks again.

If you wait a day or so, the RUU will be released for your region now that the OTA has been released.
You'll be able to fully reload your phone - this is all HTC do when you send it for repairs and you can do it in a lot less time.
At the moment, HTC may even reload the 2.17 software so you may still have the problem again when trying to load the OTA.
Thanks all for your interest.
I spoke with customer support and they told me exactly what i already had done, factory reset through hboot.
After that was a no go, he told me i have to send it back to the point of sale, so they can flash the software?
Where can i find this ruu once it has been released?
I'm pretty sure the updates all say to not have the phone plugged in when updating.

hox crashing

Dear xda-developers,
about a month ago my phone started acting funny, sometimes my browser or youtube would close randomly.. well, if it happend i just thought “oh, i pressed home accidentaly” or “oh its just a bad coded app”..
just 15 or 20 days later, not only my browser or youtube were crashing down.. it took my launcher with it (resulting in htc-sense prompting LOADING... for 2 minutes).
well, so far it has been “just annoying” me but my phone remained "functional" but: update saved the day and fixed this problem
untill yesterday: all apps started crashing (including PROCESS ANDROID.PHONE etc.), a reboot fixed the problem.
today, all apps crashed again.. reboot didnt fix it, and my phone got stuck on boot sometimes (sometimes on the "ONE X" rom screen, other times on the "HTC" screen).
so, what did i do? what everyone would.
i started my htc bootloader, clicked "factory reset" and i hoped that this would fix my problems
it booted, and rebooted, and rebooted, (bootloop for 3 times), and then finally: it booted normally..
all apps crash again!
this happens every time i start it.
now it doesnt even boot anymore (stuck on htc logo), so what do you guys think?
faulty ram? warranty ?
edit: now my screen stays black, phone doesnt respond to anything.
Dunno, it's a strange one. Drop into fastboot and run:
fastboot getvar version-main
Then look on htcruu.com for a matching RUU, this is the ENDEAVORU.

cant get into bootloader, phone died.
it has been charged this morning so its not an empty battery.
i did NOT root, flash or unlock my phone.. i've only updated through "settings" in my htc.
(want to use it for a year before unlocking.. because warranty will be voided)
Try plugging in a mains charger, does the charge light come on within a few minutes?
Now plug into laptop USB, charge light? Anything in device manager?

This is so weird, charger LED will not turn on when connected to the charger.
i tried connecting it to my pc, same problem: but with an error:
"usb device not recognized" (yellow warning triangle near the error)
its completely dead, not responding to anything or any input.
before it died, i did try 3 factory resets with a full battery (and i didnt touch it)...
none of these factory resets fixed my problems.. :/ well atleast htc cant say "try factory reset" .
since the bootloader is bricked, the phone isnt even responding to charger and it wont "try" to turn on..
i think my phone is completely dead.. just have to send it back to htc (during christmas..! will take longer than
normal i guess).
the weird thing is, i havent done anything wrong to my phone.. havent flashed, havent updated the bootloader, havent rooted it or even installed another recovery or rom. (i've only dropped it once, the screen broke immediatly.. got it fixed by my phone-insurance company thats certified)
any other solutions? would htc let me pass the warranty and repair it for free? (its just 3 months old)
Dude that's one of the best and funniest starts to a post lol
'Dear xda developers'
In serious response though. HTC warranty is two years should be fine. They will ask for proof of purchase. If you havent got it they might still do it. Failing that and they don't. My normal advice is mail your regions ceo and complain then they'll do it most probably

[Q] Glitched Out?

Phone: SGH-T989
ROM: Jedi Mind Trick X4
I'm going to try to explain this the best I can so... my apologies for any loops or confusing parts in my story.
~Basically once my phone was removed from being charged, it jumped itself into some kind of boot loop. I did not do anything just unplug it and check the time
~~The process it went though before it started to work again
~It ended up just shutting down and booting up. When it booted in only got as far as the "Deviant Development" screen and the load bar only loaded up to about 20-30% before it just rebooted itself. From there my phone was stuck on vibration. It would only vibrate for a split second, stop and vibrate again. Even if I tried to get it to make it load the TWRP recovery screen it would just boot itself again once the "Team Win" logo appeared. (Update) Device options randomly appeared by itself when I went to put it on sleep. I just tapped the button and from there it just rebooted itself.
**Question**
I'm just curious to know if anyone may know why my phone suddenly acted like that, my phone has no damage at all, never been dropped. First I ever experienced this. Any advice or suggestions?

Sounds like you have a sticky power button. I think there are a few threads about it on here if you search.

[Q] Bought Refurb Tab S 8.4... odd booting issues

Generally when I get refurb, I have pretty good luck, but perhaps the forces that be are saying I shouldn't have one. When I first ordered, I got one with a dead pixel. Couldn't fix it, so I sent it back. Just today I got my replacement. I was pretty excited since the tablet looks brand new (still has most of the plastic on it around the edges. I charge it for a bit, turn it on and....
It played the Samsung startup music, but the screen stayed black. Didn't show anything. Keys lit up like they should, everything sounded normal, but was just black. For a while nothing happened, then finally the screen came on. It seemed to act normal from there on. Thinking nothing of it, maybe it was just a glitch, I took a few OTA updates. Every time it reboots, the screen issue comes up. And while it was updating, it didn't show the android updating screen. Also, I can't get it to go into recovery. Perhaps I actually am, but the screen is off so I can't see. I've searched and can't find anyone with a similar issue. Since this is my second device, should I just send it back and ask for a refund or is there something I can do to try and fix it?

Well to force reboot, hold and press power+home+volume up and down until it reboots. Have you tried to also factory reset in recovery?

I was trying to say I can't get into recovery. I don't know if it actually is in recovery with the screen off, or if I just cant get to it at all.
Additionally I just tried a KIES update, and it did not take. When I plug into KIES it says the same update is available even after I just updated it. Just now doing a software factory reset. So far no change. Unless someone can provide me information on how to fix this, looks like I'll be sending it back.
You will know if you're in recovery if you type 'adb devices' into a command window with the usb cable attached.
If it returns a set of numbers you're in recovery.

D855 completely unresponsive, tried countless ROMs, now stuck in a boot loop.

Hi, so a week ago I had this weird problem with my phone. It would just freeze for like 2 minutes, work again for a minute and so on.
Did a hard reset, same problem.
Flashed that 6.0 KDZ, no success. The phone started but I was basically stuck at the lock screen, touchscreen was unresponsive, power menu kept showing up for no reason... couldn't even turn the phone off.
After that, I decided to stop ****ing around with it and send it to a repair store (no warranty). Today, after about 5 days, I picked it up and was told that they tried a ton of ROMs but they have no idea what's wrong with it.
Got home, ran a hard reset again and now I can't even get to the lock screen, phone is basically in a boot loop. LG logo shows up, the "Android is starting... Optimising apps" screen does its thing, restarts and keeps going like this forever.
Is there anything I can do or should I just throw the phone in the garbage and get another one? Any suggestion is appreciated, thanks!
Hi,
Same issue for 2 days...
My G3 was suddently slow and unresponsive so I removed the battery.
I put it back again, as usual, and start the phone. But it get stuck at the LG logo.
Sometimes the animated LG logo shows up, sometimes not.
Sometimes it displays the PIN screen (unresponsive or not), sometimes not.
Sometimes it boots totaly normaly (1% of time) and become unresponsive/buggy after a couple of minutes.
I tried flashing kdz (normal and CSE) 10 times, factory reset, change battery, without success...
Good luck.
