I was able to get it to work, the only problem is the fonts are kinda small. I'm trying to figure out a way to see if I can make them any bigger.

i'm sure the font issue is a registry tweak
I have the app from my Treo 700wx. You can get this app on the web, TreoCentral is a good place to start.
the other problem with the app is that you can't get back to your inbox without closing the app out first. I have set task manager to a speed dial so I press "2" to close the app then I get back in my inbox and can navigate between inbox,outbox, drafts etc. Otherwise the app works very well.
I couldnt get it to uninstall. I tried doing it through "remove programs" but no luck. Oh well it had already been like a week since I formatted

I got the CAB file - how do I install it?
Install it the same way you do any .cab file. I usually put it in my programs folder on my Dash using Activesync, then navigate to that folder on my Dash and open the .cab.
Thanks! I installed it. Any idea on the hacks / changes I need to make to get it working? When I run the program, i'm good to go. however, there's no way to go "back". When I press the "<-" button on my Dash, it exits the program.
So if I'm in a threaded chat with someone, I can't get back to the view where i choose which converesation to enter. Anyone know of a good guide to get it working?

That's the problem, it wasn;t designed for a smartphone, it was for ppc phones. The way I get around this is I set task manager to my speed dial #2 and I have to end the app. Then I can get back into the inbox. It's a bit annoying, but I still find it better than our other options right now. It was never intended to run on a non-touch screen device, it actually surprised me when I got it running.
I got it running back in December, and was happy it still worked with WM6.

Did anybody ever get the font to a readable size, or get it to make a notification sound? I searched to no avail...
no... still squinting read the damn texts... i have the files if anyone needs them! just pm me!
btw... did anyone find out a registry hack to map the back button to going back to the main menu of palm sms threader? so annoying to go to task manager... close it and then open it again! any idea how to uninstall it and go back to regular wm6 sms? hard reset?! eek

any luck with this?
Has anyone had any luck running TxTMan on WM6 or any threaded SMS program for that matter? I just installed it, but it won't read my SMS messages through TxTMan when the program is open.

anyone managed to get the font size up?
uhm...with the kavana/rickwyatt roms, there is already an sms threader installed.
Exactly... install Kavana's ROM and stop worrying about it ! lol
I'm loving NFSFAN's new Bell ROM, but i'm not crazy about the slide to answer on the phone canvas.
I'm looking for a way to replace the slide to answer / ignore with buttons instead of a slider while keeping everything else the same.
I've researched different skins for this dialer (there are some cool looking ones out there!!) but none of these change the slider.
Any help would be appreciated.

I've now been using NFSFAN's ROM for a few days now.
Must say i've gotten quite used to the dialer. I like all of the other features. Especially the "in call curtain". While i'm still not in love with slide to answer I understand the concept of why it was created. If I want to press a button that's what the hardware key is for!!
I wasn't really looking for a new dialer, but i've learnt the slide is an integral part of the package.

now mine might sound like a really stupid question, but can I install the opal's slide to answer dialer on my sprint htc vogue ? are all the ## codes working for you on your phone ?

In NFSFAN's words, the data connection is not active during a call, it just breaks the data errors.
The dialer is included in his ROM, i'm not really sure if the same one is found anywhere in CAB format. A quick google search for "opal slide to answer CDMA" should yield some results for you.

i spoke too sooon... i installed the complete cab by mbarvian and then tried juggaloo's cab but it was for VGA graphics, i tried mbarvian and conflippers cab but that messed up everything...
just mbarvians cab - didn't display the incall screen properly.... it was all greyed out...
now i can't find a single good cab which displays everything like it should... i don't want to do any more trial and error and find out... please help me on this ...
i dont mind not having the canvas - atleast i get a bigger picture on caller screen and thats all i want right now...
I know s2u2 has a large picture to answer the phone with.
I don't use it anymore, I found it drained my battery too fast. With NFSFAN's rom and the opal dialer it isn't really needed anyways.
Sorry none of the links led to anything fruitful, my only experience with this dialer is in the custom ROM. Must say it has grown on me though!!

I've been using this on my Sprint Touch for months now with out any issues. Here's a link for a post I have up at PPCGeeks for you to check out . Please let me know if you have any problems. If you don't want the lock feature, don't install Albert's cab...

I had trouble getting the dialer to work initially also. It seemed to be tied to the rom build that something changed after the 20XXX rom build was released. If I used anything earlier it wouldn't work. If your on a stock rom that may be part of the issue. Not sure, but just my experience in fixing the issue.
It is tied to a shell component.

Hey thanks for the reply NFSFAN, the slide to answer was the only part of your ROM that I didn't really like......at first. I couldn't imagine going back to the old dialer now.
It is good to learn what's possible and what's not though, thanks again for the answer.

Codes don't work for me on the verizon beta rom. Is it just me or do you have to use the folder rather than the dialer?

I already have the blackdialer for my phone which is great... but im looking to replace the phonepad keyboard which is used to type out SMS and Emails and looking for something similar to the blackdialer because simply... i think its pretty cool!

I have found that if you just take these 2 images (Assets_dialer_Normal, Assets_dialer_Pressed) from the windows folder, you can easily just take them into photoshop and then replace them on your device, I did this already and it works perfectly. Only thing is you need to use a program to replace them, such as Resco explorer, which you can download a free trial.
Now the second issue is, does anyone know what the name of the other 2 buttons are while in phone pad? They are the back button and the calls buttons, located at the bottom left and right hand sides. I want to make them black as well

I don`t know what ROM you are using but in NRG Rom`s from long time the Keypad is dark grey like black and looks very cool and also the keypad look a bit diferent than the default one so i dont know do if you have the right files and just copy over windows will work for you but if you really want this keypad i can recomend to Flash Nrg ROM

He dont need a DIALER he is talking about Keypad when you write e-mails SMS and so on so the images Asses_dialer etc are for the Manila Phone Dialer not the keyboard

Yes sorry but the post started out as Phonepad, dus I thought it was for the phone. Keyboard would be the correct word to use for this issue.
I have alos not found a solution for this one although I imagine you can do the same thing possibly?? Find the image(s) which are being used for these and update them...??

Its normally very easy look at this.I have to send it in a zib file otherwise it would be to big
P.S if you like it but the Assets files in your Windows directory with theTotal-commander programm ,EASY BISY
"BE CAREFUL" with overwrite the Assets files "SAFE" at first your original Assets file in case you don`t like my phonepad on you phone it looks always different on the phone as you see them on the picture

I decided I'd post this in a new thread because where i originally posted i dont think it;s going to get a response.
That said I know I've seen a fix for this a long time ago but 2hours of searching couldn't find it.
My tab/0 button wont work in certain things like SkyFire, or opera mini, some sites in IE. So whats the fix can someone help me out TY ^^
The only suggestion I can think of is trying a different ROM and see if it fixes the problem.
lol if we did that every time we'd never get anywhere. kavana had this problem with one of his older ROMs and they fixed it so i know that there is a fix for it. i just can't seem to find that post. I'd like to see if someone can actually find it or know of the fix?

ok i finally figured it out.
Go to this forum here download and Install Tegic T9. It completely fixes the tab zero thing and will also remove keytouch to choose abc do the Fn + Space thing.

hi guys.i was suffering with a lot of lag when i was writing sms with my x1.i found fix and i want to share with you.
Open Total Commander
Browse to the Windows folder
Look for "thread_sms.htm"
Hit file and go to edit
Scroll down (it's pretty short so it shouldn't be that far) and look for "count" then delete it. It's the only one in there so no need to worry about deleting the wrong one.
Save and restart the phone.that is it.i hope all the chefs will include this fix in their rom.cheers

nice find, testing it out right now will update in the future to see if the change was significant or not
the disadvantage with this workaround is, it does not count how nany characters we wrote in our sms. i will upload max 160 character fix soon.cheers

Umm i installed the SMS LAG FIX-160 Max.cab to fix but i didnt like it so i uninstalled now my background is grey in text and file explorer....how do i undo this and make it white agian?

Thanks for posting this. I have used it and there are slight improvements to texting with the x1. I have to say though, even after installation I still find that there are times in which my x1 still lag like crazy when I text or use MSN on it.
