This used to be the thread of my CM build for SD... using it again so that old users can easily find it since its heavily associated with the CyanogenMod Series!
If you have used any of my previous ROM's (HyperROM for WinMo back in the day AND HyperDroid CM6.1 for Android SD), you'll know that I build these to be Clean, Fast, Minimal and as Stable as Realistically Possible. (YMMV, of course)
I originally built this for my personal use and offer no guarantees except that I personally use this ROM and it's passed my standards for daily use as well as my 4 year old son's since he plays the games I download on the device.
In the spirit of the open source community, allow me to share and give back to something I enjoy participating in--- Tweaking my Gadgets to Death... yes, to death...
I am not a developer nor do I aim to be called as such. I believe this should be reserved for the real people who do the work behind the scenes and in the trenches of kernel hacking and coding.
I am an extreme gadget enthusiast or simply a Gadget Geek... The work I do is to build from source then put together bits and pieces of what works and what looks good to create a gadget experience that is elegant, polished, minimalist and functional (E-P-M-F).
From my HyperROM WinMO ROM roots to today, I've always liked using and sharing a ROM that meets my E-P-M-F aspirations for a gadget. Today I bring you my personal twist on an Android ROM based on CyanogenMod7.
Again, THIS is NOT a PORT... its Completely Built FROM SOURCE, Then Fully Optimized and Tweaked for the HD2!
From v3.0.0 onwards, this version is being maintained by the HyperDroid Dev Crew:
seadersn
clyder
doctorcete
pongster
Yz
fhasovic
Huge props to:
ihlades: for allowing me to build off Redux and helping me figure stuff out (saved me a lot of time)
cyanogen: for the various useful features and functions... Android is better because of you
AdamG: for the tweaks on AOSP and contributions to Android...
charansingh: for his work on the vendor related stuff for the HD2...
tytung: for his work on the kernel, vold, gps and openly exchanging code with me to make both our builds that much better.
Tricalibur and Veyka: for their generosity in sharing Unlimited Bandwidth FTP for these ROM's
doctorcete: for helping me test the ROMs over and above the call of duty. breaking what I don't break myself For adding the finishing touches on certain Framework Tweaks as well, I am grateful!
D4rk50ul: for helping rework the posts on the first page and being a helpful troubleshooter that has allowed me to fix a lot of small details. The go to guy re: GPS stuff for HyperDroid... trust me!
pinDemon: for creating an awesome video guide for HyperDroid! (more to come)
karendar, slashas69, seadersn, fhasovic, Nikola G., discohk, Yz.hd: for their time, contributions and methods of testing out the [email protected]#$% out of these ROM's and helping make it a True Community Effort (thread support, chatzy support, etc.)

In essence, if you like what you see feel free to download it directly by clicking the appropriate link below!
Upgrading is possible and theoretically safe... unless stated other wise. However, due to the complexity of different settings, applications installed, and Android system itself this upgrading would be unsupported officially and in case a bug arises we cannot provide official support other than trying full wipe.
You have been Warned.
Therefore a full wipe is always advisable to minimize errors and get proper support (everything is tested on all defaults).

MAGLDR
==========================
This guide is assuming you have a completely stock HTC HD2 running Windows Mobile 6.5.
You should ALWAYS turn OFF Anti-Virus and Sleep/Hibernation/Screensavers while Flashing
1. Install HSPL 2.08 onto your device by following the directions in that thread or by watching the above video.
2. Install the newest version of MAGLDR. Unzip the file into a folder on your desktop for easy access. With the phone off Power up your device by holding the volume down button and red power button at the same time. You should see a rainbow colored screen as shown in the video above. RIGHT Click the ROMUpdateUtility.exe file and "Run as Administrator". Follow the on screen instructions. When the process is finished your phone should now boot into MAGLDR with a Kernel failed to load error.
3. Download the appropriate ClockWorkMod 150MB file from HERE. Extract this file into a folder on your desktop in preparation. On the Phone select the option 5. USB Flasher using the Volume Down hardkey and press the Green Send button to confirm. Connect the phone to your PC with USB cable and wait until it says USB connected. Go to your ClockWorkMod folder and RIGHT CLICK on the DAF.exe file and "Run as Administrator". Follow the on screen instructions. **If you want the newest version of CWM before flashing the above file, CLICK HERE and follow the instructions.
4. You now have all the tools to install HyperDroid on your device. Insert your SD card into a card reader and connect to your PC. Copy the MAGLDR version zip of the ROM to the root of the card. DO NOT USE MAGLDR USB MASS STORAGE TO TRANSFER ROM FILES IT CAN CORRUPT THEM. Place the SD card back into your phone and press and HOLD the power button until the MAGLDR menu appears again. Select option 9. AD Recovery. Select the option "install zip from sdcard" with the volume up/down keys and confirm with green send button. Choose the ROM file and press the Green button. Scroll down to YES and press the Green button. Wait. You have successfully installed the awesomeness that is HyperDroid onto your Device.
5. For future use when upgrading versions. ClockWorkMod's NANDROID BACKUP IS YOUR FRIEND PLEASE USE IT BEFORE FLASHING ANYTHING NEW TO YOUR DEVICE. The "wipe data/factory reset" option in ClockWorkMod will completely reset or (Full Wipe) your device. You still need to go to the "advanced" option and "Wipe Dalvik Cache" as well. If you are trying to keep your data just choose the two options "wipe cache partition" from the main menu and "wipe dalvik cache" option from the advanced menu, then install the new version with "install zip from sd card".

F.A.Q.
What is Hyperdroid by Pongster?
It's an Android NAND rom for HD2 that puts style, speed and stability into one. It can be considered a minimalistic ROM.
When will the next version be released?
It'll be done when it's done. Until then...
Is Hyperdroid a Sense ROM?
No, therefore all the apps and widgets that require sense will not work ie. Friendstream
What CWM recovery size should i use? EU HD2 USERS THIS ONE IS IMPORTANT!
150 mb is the correct one and the most system space you will need for this or the CM7 HyperDroid!
Do NOT use the 250 mb partition or higher, the ROM may malfunction!!! You have been warned!!!
For extra space you can follow this guide to create a custom partition size and get the most out of your NAND space!
dertester123's Tutorial can be found here!
I'm getting Robotic Voice, I thought this was Fixed!
Unfortunately this has not been completely fixed as of yet, and we as you are eagerly awaiting its final demise. For now go to Settings/Sounds then uncheck audible touch tones. Place a phone call and when finished reboot.
What is the PIN CODE to use in the video pinDemon made so I can haz Android working?
Why are the icons so small?
Because the density of the screen is set to 167. If u don't like it use either the terminal or any root enabled file explorer like THIS and edit the /system/build.prop file. Find and change the number in the line "ro.sf.lcd_density=167" to 240 for stock android DPI. You can also do this before flashing the ROM by using a tool such as WINRAR to edit the file in the ROM without unzipping it.
GPS is slow what can I do to fix it?
Open the /system/etc/gps.conf file with a root text editor and change the top four servers. Change the "us" to your country code such as "cn". There are other fixes available on XDA but unfortunately GPS is never going to be native like until DEVS build the proper system files needed.
Why do some applications only extend up to a smaller part of the screen?
Probably because you did not UNcheck compatibility mode in spare parts app as advised. Do it and everything will appear normally. If you are still having issues it is the APP itself and only changing the system density will solve your issue.
ZOMG Angry Birds and/or (insert game/app here) Force closes on me what do I do?
Open your settings menu and go to the Applications sub menu. Select the misbehaving application and press the "Move to Phone" button. All Apps we've tested work from the SD Card (Fat32, Old School Move Apps to SD)
Will there be a DFT flashable version or sd version?
No. Recovery Mods such as ClockWorkMod are the future due to functionality and ease of use. They feature the Nandroid backup feature and it is strongly advised to do Nandroid backups regularly. If you prefer Titanium backup it's your choice, but don't argue about it. If you choose to use Titanium or MyBackup and experience bugs, we probably won't be able to help you because the restore itself could have caused the issue.
I am afraid of flashing CWM recovery, help me?
Installing CWM recovery is as easy as flashing HSPL or MGLDR. You will still have HSPL and MGLDR installed so you can uninstall CWM at any time. CWM allows you to do nandroid backups and therefore to restore any NAND rom in a minimum amount of time.
What is free memory?
The free memory shown in the app manager is the memory left on NAND for your /data partition. (it does not include sd card or sd-ext): Free memory = Total NAND memory (512 for RU 1024 for TMOUS) - CWM recovery (system files) - Apps installed on NAND.
Why do i have only less than 10mb of free memory left?
Because you probably used the wrong CWM recovery size. Use the 150MB ClockWorkMod partition.
If you are using the proper 150mb CMW recovery image you should have about 250 mb free with EU HD2.
Why do i freeze on the ANDROID white logo after the install?
You missed a step, installed something wrong, or haven't properly prepared your SD card. Please follow the installation instructions and try again. FULL WIPE the device if all else fails.
My SD card is slow, the camera crashes, or my gallery takes forever to load up.
I highly recommend you backup then reformat your SD card with the largest block size you can. This will greatly enhance data throughput. A FAT32 main partition with 32kb Clusters is the recommended size, although on smaller cards you may only be able to do 16kb. Also try the app called QUICKPIC in the market, it loads much quicker than stock Android Gallery.
How can i install the zip on sd-card?
Either by putting your sd-card in a card reader and downloading via your computer, or by clicking the link directly with your phone. You can place the file wherever you want on the sd card FAT main partition.
Can Hyperdroid install apps on sd-ext or use a2sd+?
If you have a primary ext3 or ext 4 partition (1024 mb is enough) AFTER the FAT 32 partition, Hyperdroid will automatically install your apps there. More specifically: app, app-private and dalvik-cache are moved to the sdcard.
What does App2sd mean?
The HyperDroid rom has Apps2sdExt support. The install detects an ext partition (if available) and installs apk's
on sd-ext. It means that applications are installed into an ext partition on the SDcard.
However, lib data of installed applications are still in phone memory.
If you use Titanium and Root Explorer, you will see that the sd-ext folder are full of your installed application.
This is NOT data2sd (which can quickly corrupt your data if your not careful) so "Internal Storage" is NOT equal to your ext partition storage.
What is sd-ext?
sd-ext is the mount point for the 2nd primary ext2/3/4 partition on the sdcard.
Do i need an sd ext partition?
YOU NEED TO PARTITION YOUR SD CARD IN ORDER TO GET APPS2SD WORKING!!
If you want more space on your NAND yes, it is very useful but it is still optional. There is no windows app to format in ext3/ext4, so download Gparted Live CD from here or use a linux virtual machine. There is a guide on how to do this here on XDA, CLICK ME!
But that looks complicated! How do I make a ext partition on my SD card using ClockWorkMod?
Boot into MAGLDR (Power On and HOLD the Power Button till MAGLDR options are shown)
Boot into option 9. AD Recovery to enter CWM Recovery Mode
Once in CWM choose advanced, then choose Partition SD card, then choose the size of the partition (Maximum of 1024M recommended)
The choose 0 for the swap and partition away.
Can Hyperdroid be installed after WP7?
Yes but you must repartition and format your sdcard into either one primary FAT 32 partition, or a primary FAT 32 followed by a primary EXT3 or EXT4 partition.
Can i install Hyperdroid after another Android NAND rom?
Yes but check you have the correct CMW recovery size (for HyperDroid 150 mb), do a full wipe (sd-card fat32; and use CMW to clear data, cache and dalvik cache)
What about battery life?
Battery drain is very low (2-5 ma for me in standby). If you want to have optimal battery standby options install Superpower from the market.
Does Bluetooth buttons and stock headset buttons work?
Yes they do, if they don't it's the app your using which is in cause.
Can you change the ____ I like how it looks better.
No I can't but YOU can. This is an OPEN SOURCE project. You are welcome to change anything about it.

How To File a Bug Report with Logcat:
Install android sdk
Install drivers for adb on PC
connect phone to PC

BE ADVISED: THIS BUILD, CAUSE IT'S SIZE, WILL WORK ONLY WITH THIS METHOD OF DATA2EXT EXCEPT FOR 1024 LEO WHERE IT WORK WITHOUT IT: JUST DONT CREATE ANY EXT PARTITION ON YOUR SDCARD AND IT WILL NOT BE USED. IF YOU PUT AN EXT PARTITION WILL BE AUTOMATICALLY USED ON BOOT

Stock Version and Themed version RAFDROID REVOLUTION videos by kevinniven
This is a personal build made for my self, based on DESIRE HD. Is 99% stock, % battery indicator and some animations/icons. It's fully DEODEXED so you can theme it as you want. Also if it's a bit slower then ODEXED builds. I tried also to keep most of the apps, wallpapers and other stuff in it. But most important it uses to put all your DATA folder on EXT partition on your SD CARDso you dont have to worry about storage limite on LEO512

=== INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS (CWR) - NEW USERS WITHOUT CWR INSTALLED OR WITH CWR BUT USING ANOTHER ROM ===
This process will erase everything on your nand. So, if you are already using a previous rom, backup everything!
Suggested but not mandatory: Download PANASONIC SD FORMATTER and use it to format your card with SLOW ERASE
Prepare your SD Card with first partition primary FAT32. This is where you will put all your stuff like music, videos... so make it bigger as possible less the space for the EXT partition. Ext partition must be EXT3 or EXT4, primary, and must be the second partition of the SD card, just after the FAT32. The EXT partition will be seen from your phone as it's internal storage memory. Maximum 1gb EXT is suggested, bigger one can cause issues. Refer to this for an help to make the partitions http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=10654666#post10654666(only ext3) or use this for ext 4 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=905089
After the partition are created, you need to flash MAGDLR 1.13 and the 400mb Recovery for MAGDLR that you can find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=898913 follow the instructions on the thread
Download the FULL RAFDROID PACKAGE and copy the entire zip (not extracted!) on the SD CARD root.
Put the SD CARD in your phone and power it on and go in the MAGDLR menu (hold the power key while powering up)
Select BOOT AD RECOVERY
Click on INSTALL ZIP FROM SD CARD and then CHOOSE ZIP FROM SD CARD
Select the FULL_RAFDROID_HD_EXT_*r*.zip that you downloaded before.
Select "Yes - Install........" and wait for installation then Go back with power button and select REBOOT SYSTEM NOW
First boot can take up to 20 minutes. If you are stuck on white screen with HTC logo just wait. If you hear boot sound more than one time, you had a bootlop and something has gone wrong. Maybe your partitions are not setted up properly. Delete everything, reformat your SD card and try again.
When you see the lockscreen, give at least 5 minutes to settle. Then do all your settings and then reboot again
Go in Settings -> Audio -> Disable "audible touch tones". This will avoid robo voice and phone freezes.
Read the FAQ on post #2
Enjoy.
Remember: if you want to avoid Data Corruption always choose SHUT OFF and not reboot!
TOO DIFFICULT?? HERE A VIDEO TUTORIAL!!! BY ACLERIGO!
=== INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS (CWR) - UPGRADING FROM A PREVIOUS RAFDROID VERSION WITH ALREADY CWR INSTALLED===
Since 4.0 is completely new base and a lot of bugs are fixed, I suggest to backup your apps with Titanium Backup or another backup app, format your ext3 partition and start fresh. If you prefer to keep your old data partition please understand that you could have bugs, instability, slowness, and some bugs that are fixed will remain not fixed for you.
It's your choiche, if you still want to keep your data partition, instructions below:
Make a NANDROID Backup
Make a NANDROID Backup... go on!
Make a NANDROID Backup... really!!!!
did you made the backup?
You need MAGDLR 1.13 and recovery 1.3. If you have previous version, you need to flash MAGDLR 1.13 and the 400mb Recovery for MAGDLR that you can find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=898913 follow the instructions on the thread. Old CWR is NOT compatible!!!
Download the RAFDROID_HD_EXT zip and save it to your SD card root
Enter in MAGDLR by powering up the phone and holding power botton until MAGLDR screen appears and Enter in CWR Recovery by selecting BOOT AD RECOVERY
Select INSTALL ZIP FROM SD CARD then CHOOSE ZIP FROM SD CARD
Select the RAFDROID_HD_EXT zip that you downloaded before.
Select "Yes - Install........" and wait for installation
Go back with power button and select REBOOT SYSTEM NOW
First boot can take up to 20 minutes. If you are stuck on white screen with HTC logo just wait. If you hear boot sound more than one time, you had a bootlop and something has gone wrong. Maybe your partitions are not setted up properly. Delete everything, reformat your SD card and try again.
When you see the lockscreen, give at least 5 minutes to settle then do all your settings and then reboot again
Go in Settings -> Audio -> Disable "audible touch tones". This will avoid robo voice and phone freezes.
Read the FAQs on post #2
Enjoy.
Remember: if you want to avoid Data Corruption always choose SHUT OFF and not reboot!
============ CONFIG.TXT ============
Used some ideas and code bits from Dandiest's init script.
You can create a config.txt file on the root of your sdcard to configure some things at boot.
Actually you can configure the following options
gps_zone=[your country]
check http://www.pool.ntp.org/zone/@ for country codes (example: it for italy, us for usa.. and so on...)
sd_boost
sd_boost=0 -> sd bost not active (default)
sd_boost=1 -> sd boost active
* SD Boost deactivate journal on your ext partition. This gives you more performance but if you not shut off your phone properly or you pull out the battery while running you can have data loss or data corruption. If you activate sd boost, then you want to go back to norma sd usage, just change the config.txt back to sd_boost=0 and journal will be recreated on next boot *
ppp_mode=[1 or 0]
1 to enable PPP
0 to enable RMNET.
Default is 0
RMNET is more stable and less battery hungry, but in some countries/carries PPP can work better.
old_light_driver=[1 or 0]
0 to use the new light driver (working notification leds, button backlight control)
1 to use the old light driver (no notifications leds, buttons will go off after 10 seconds)
default is 0
auto_btn_backlight=[1 or 0]
1 to have the buttons backlight going off/on with the screen
0 to have the buttons backlight going off after 10 seconds from when the last button is pressed
default is 1
this work only if old_light_driver=0
wifi_mac_change=[1 or 0]
1 tells the system that you will need to change the wifi mac address to a custom one
0 tells the system that you will use the wifi mac address based on device hardware
custom_wifi_mac=yy:yy:yy:yy:yy:yy
here you have to write the wifi mac address you want.
This is needed, and will work, only if you specify wifi_mac_change=1
If you not write any mac address here, the default 00:11:22:33:44:55 will be used
Just an example on how a file could look:
Code:
gps_zone=it
ppp_mode=0
old_light_driver=0
auto_btn_backlight=1
The init script will also create an init.log file on your sd card at every boot. This will help you and me with debugging if something not works fine. If you have issues please always post your init.log file when reporting your problem.

FAQ - QUESTIONS and BUG FIXES
PLEASE READ

Click to collapse
q) My phone sometimes freeze and I have to reboot.
a) Go in Settings -> Audio -> disable audible touch tones. this will solve the issue in most of the cases.
q) Can you provide a different link or a mirror different from hotfile?
a) I'm sorry but the answer is "no". I pay hotfile every month and the downloads give me the possibility to pay it. I dont do this for money, but I also dont want to waste my money
q) During/after boot a window appears with "System process not respoding". What I have to do?
a) This is caused from the new audio driver I used. The new audio driver has better phone stability and no robo voice. You have two choices: 1) Click on "wait" and all will be fine OR 2) download the "old_acdb_file.zip" and flash it via recovery. In this way you will not have the error anymore but you will start having robo voice on first call (you can avoid this disabling audible touch tones) and could happen that your phone freezes when receiving a call. It's your choiche. I preferred the "window error" one because for me is more important to have a working phone than an error window appearing at boot.
q) After I take a photo, I dotn see the "review"
a) This is caused from the new HTC Camera app I used that disables the review to not show the "sharing" menu that ForceCloses. If you cannot live with that until next update, you can use that one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=981881
q) What is the difference between Data2Ext and App2SD?
a) App2SD simply move all your apps that you install in the Ext partition. Data2Ext instead "mounts" your data folder, including dalvik cache, on the ext partition. This is a little slower than App2SD but it's necessary for a Desire Hd full build. Infact, installing a full HD build will left you with only 5mb of free space in internal storage.
q) I have robo voice when I make a call
a) To avoid this, disable "audible touch tones" from the "settings -> audio" menu. You will have no-more robo voice also if you reboot.
a) During the robo-voice call, enable the speaker, then disable it. You will have no more robo-voice until next reboot.
q) I have very low audio during calls
a) During the call, enable the speaker, then disable it. You will have loud volume until next reboot.
q) after boot I see only a white screen with a green htc logo
a) just wait. It can take fro 5 up to 20 minutes depending on your sd card. There are no issue. The build booted fine, it's just copying all the files to SD. This will happen only on first installation.
q) During the boot I see an error windows "System not responding" what I have to do?
a) This could be caused by slow sd card. Just click on "wait" and all will works fine
q) I already have a ext partition that was running under another rom, how can I empty it so that I can cleany flash your rom?
a) Just use one of the tool you used to create the ext partition to format it or to delete and recreate it back.
q) I'm having high battery drain
a) Try reboot. Try disabling gps in location. As you can see from the screenshot I have 4mA with WIFI active! Also be careful. If during google account setup you choose to backup/restore all your data, the sync process will be dramatic heavy because it has to reinstall all your apps. It could need a couple of hours to settle. Also high battery drain could be caused by SD. try another one.
q) It's really laggy!!!!
a) as all Desire HD builds this is BIG! This needs at least 10-15 minutes after boot to be usable. Then try to use it for 5-6 hours.. and do a couple of reboots.. you will see that the speed will improve. After 24 hours of use and 4-5 rebots this will be really fast.
q) It lags when I'll install apps?
a) very few..
q) I have no GPS or the fix is really slow
a) Firs fixt can take up to 5 minutes. just wait. You can edit the config.txt gps_zone= to your country. See here for the right strings http://www.pool.ntp.org/zone/@ if this not solves, try use QuickGps from the market to download a-gps data.
q) I have low quadrant scores when using on full nand (no ext-partition) compared when used with SD!!!
a) yes, this is true. I made some tweaks to the full sd mount and use process that raise the quadrant i/o score. Anyway, also if quadrant is lower on full nand, you daily usage speed is the same or in some cases FASTER.
q) Can I unmount the SD while in use or connect the phone as mass storage to my pc while in use
a) Best not. Is unuseful. You can access your sd card connecting your phone to pc and using "mass storage" option.
q) It not boots
a) partition again and format again your sd card. follow the guide linked in the first post.
q) I have no data/3G/HSDPA
a) probably you have to set your apn manually. google it for tips on how to do and what settings are need for your carrier
q) How do I remove BOOTSOUND / How do I change bootanim
a) bootsound and bootanim are located in /system/customize/resource
Just delete android_audio.mp3 if you dont want sound
q) I have wake up lag
a) It's an issue that devs are trying to solve. It's not related to the build itself. In the Q&A Forum there is a thread about this problem. HERE, HERE,....
q) My screen stays off after call
a) Maybe this can help: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=946012 ATM very few people have this issue, so I wonder is related to sd card.
q) My contacts pictures are low res after sync!
a) this is a google problem, read here http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=4147
q) My Weather doesn't update
a) seems an issue of 1.84 builds. Try to flash this via CWR http://www.multiupload.com/8YOYX0P5UE credit to CMYLXGO
q) I have random reboots
a) Seems to be related to your phone, read here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=941845 and here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=898804
q) Can I disable the button light always on with screen on to the "previous" way that they go off after a while?
a) yes, changing config.txt Read the OP.

PowerControlWidgets
Hardcoded on default, widgets: toggleGPS|toggleWifi|toggleBluetooth|toggleSync|toggleFlashlight|toggleSound
I have hardcoded the powercontrolwidgets so after flash it is all done. U still can override these settings by applying the following:
- Customizable via a text file widget.txt (max.6) to change widgets.
Find included 'widget.txt' on root of SDcard. Modify to your likings but DON'T use spaces or delete the pipeline signs. Use Rootexplorer to copy this file to '/system/customize/'. Make sure permissions are set to 'read', at a minimum after copying! Then power off and on.
- available widgets:
toggleAirplane
toggleAutoRotate
toggleBluetooth
toggleBrightness
toggleFlashlight
toggleGPS
toggleLockScreen
toggleMobileData
toggleScreenTimeout
toggleSleepMode
toggleSound
toggleSync
toggleWifi
toggleWimax
Have in mind that u have to use the exact syntax!
Enable or disable PowerControlWidget
Hardcoded to have both PowerControl and RecentApps on default. U still can override these settings by applying the following:
- Find included 'notification_config.txt' on root of SDcard. Modify to your likings but DON'T use spaces or delete the pipeline signs. Use Rootexplorer to copy this file to '/system/customize/'. Make sure permissions are set to 'read', at a minimum after copying! Then power off and on.
- Available options:
Default = enablePowerControl|enableRecentApps
PowerControl only = enablePowerControl
RecentApps only = enableRecentApps
Remapped Personalize
Personalize softkey is remapped by default to LaunchKey app by appelflap. You can set it to launch an app, service or a nice launcher menu. Personally i have setted to Settings... More info here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=818499, or buy it on the market to get more options.
If you don't want it to be remapped, you can have a look in the options list below to apply. (SOON)

The threat will quickly closter if people keep asking questions already answered, and even faster when people starts getting cross about it, so I'll just shut up now.

10 PEOPLE REACHED. NO MORE BETA TESTER NEEDED. THANKS
TESTERS NEEDED
Before uploading the TMOUS version I needs to check that it works fine at least for the no "data2sd" thing. Unfortunately having a 512LEO I cannot test my self.
So please, anyone has a 1024 LEO and want to be a betatester send me a PM. I will send the link to the first 10 people. You will have to flash it and let me know if it works.
Be advised: since this is a beta test request, could happen also that you have to reflash back a supposed working version after a couple of hours.. so I need people that will not give up after a one not working flash.
I will write in this threa again when 10 people are reached and no more requests accepted.
All the testers will be thanked in the OP.
Hi I have a ext4 partitio that was running under revolution 2.3, how can I empty it so that I can flash a clean flash of your rom?
Thanks

If you have used any of my previous ROM's (HyperROM for WinMo back in the day AND HyperDroid CM6.1 for Android SD), you'll know that I build these to be Clean, Fast, Minimal and as Stable as Realistically Possible. (YMMV, of course)
I built this for my personal use and offer no guarantees except that I personally use this ROM and it's passed my standards for daily use as well as my 4 year old son's since he plays the games I download on the device.
Drawing inspiration from the Desire AOSP based Custom ROMs, which has AdamG and his Oxygen-ROM and ihlades and his Redux Custom ROM, I decided to Open-Source the HyperDroid project with the hope of making it even better than it is now! Contribution isn't only welcomed, its highly encouraged!
This ROM is based on the source code of Redux, a Gingerbread AOSP Desire ROM as originally built by ihlades (Gingerbread / Android 2.3.3), with several useful & special tweaks topped off with a clean theme to make it pop!
This is the first Open Source ROM specifically built and optimized for the HD2! That means you can build based on this one using the source code (as long as you publish your changes as well as this is licensed under GPLv3) The source is built from the following: Base is Pure AOSP, Framework Tweaks and Settings is Redux, Cool Features & Functions from CyanogenMod.
THIS is NOT a PORT... its Completely Built FROM SOURCE, Fully Optimized and Tweaked for the HD2![/B]
Huge props to:
ihlades: for allowing me to build off Redux and helping me figure stuff out (saved me a lot of time)
cyanogen: for the various useful features and functions... Android is better because of you
AdamG: for the tweaks on AOSP and contributions to Android...
charansingh: for his work on the vendor related stuff for the HD2...
tytung: for his work on the kernel and openly exchanging code with me to make both our builds that much better.
Tricalibur: for his generosity in sharing Unlimited FTP Space for these ROM's
doctorcete: for helping me test the ROMs over and above the call of duty. breaking what I don't break myself
D4rk50ul: for helping rework the posts on the first page and being a helpful troubleshooter that has allowed me to fix a lot of small details.
pinDemon: for creating an awesome video guide for HyperDroid! (more to come)
slashas69, FrAsErTaG, MontAlbert, seadersn, fhasovic, karendar: for their time and methods of testing out the [email protected]#$% out of these ROM's and helping make it a True Community Effort

DOWNLOAD THE SOURCE CODE HERE!!
In essence, if you like what you see feel free to download it directly by clicking the appropriate link below!
Upgrading is possible and theoretically safe once on GBXv7 and up, unless stated other wise. However, due to the complexity of different settings, applications installed, and Android system itself this upgrading would be unsupported officialy and in case a bug arises we cannot provide official support other than trying full wipe.
You have been Warned.
Therefore a full wipe is always advisable to minimize errors and get proper support.

MAGLDR
==========================
4. You now have all the tools to install HyperDroidGBX on your device.

F.A.Q.
What is Hyperdroid GBX by Pongster?
It's an Android NAND rom for HD2 that puts style, speed and stability into one. It can be considered a minimalistic ROM.
When will the next version be released?
It'll be done when it's done. Until then...
Is Hyperdoid GBX a Sense ROM?

Highlights: (HUGE props to ihlades, btw)
Update to Full 2.3.3 Base GRI54
As a result of this update you may notice blazing speed... You've been warned!
New Advanced Sound Settings (Best to try it out as it will take a while to explain it here... I'm in a rush as I have an important client I'm closing tomorrow)
-Notification focus.
-Always on speaker.
-Headphone volume attenuation.
New Notifications Profiles (thanks to Martin Long who contributed the code to CM7 and merged by ihlades)
Description of Notification Profiles:
This adds finer-grained support for notification tones, and groups settings into profiles, which can be easily switched. API support is also added, allowing configuration, and profile switching from another program (e.g. Tasker, Locale).
A profile represents a particular set of settings, and could be for example "Silent", "Office", or "Night". Each profile contains the settings for a definable set of application groups.
An application group represents a group of applications to which the settings should apply.
For example "SMS" might contain "Messaging" and "Handcent".
The applications in an application group are globally defined. The notification settings for an application group are per-profile.
For each profile/application group you can define behaviour for lights/vibrate and sound.
Either you can suppress, override, or leave unchanged (ie system, or app default).
Example:
-Work : SMS vibrate. Ringer vibrate. Email no alert. Gmail vibrate.
-Night: SMS silent. Ringer on. Email silent. Gmail silent.
Click to collapse
Add Selection of Silent mode to Lockscreen (thanks to Sven of CM7 and ihlades for the merge)
Updated Google Apps included in since v7.0
Updated Bluetooth.apk to get themed Notification Support (white text when transfer is in progress)
Working 2G/3G toggle for Notification Power Widget
Included FOTAKill.apk to prevent OTA updates notifications (just in case)
Framework-res tweaks to take advantage of the silky smooth animations we have and to give it a subtle, yet stunning "feel" that fits the Gingerbread screen-off animation. You have to see it to believe it... WOW!
Reworked framework-res to remove gradients that could "band" and look fugly... (Not all as 3rd party apps have their own widget_bg's)
Supported the official HTC extended battery due to new Experimental kernel based on tytung's R7 kernel. (Integrated source code from Arne's Extended Kernel. All credit goes to him.)
Improved the WiFi driver from the kernel. (thanks to tytung)
Fixed WiFi "When screen turns off" battery drain issue. (thanks to tytung)

I was using Sense build from the begining of Android on HD2 as it was (for
me) the only way to use offline calendar and contact.
Since I find a way to use offline without sense I tried non-sense builds.
I tried all builds but always have issues. Then I try this one... so far so
good!..........."

Quick Fix for applications that needs to connect to a server (like Skype, Pocket Legends, Pandora, Slacker Radio, etc.) Force Closes, try this quick and effective fix: (Thanks to rQvsnaps)
In /system/build.prop - change ro.kernel.android.checkjni=1 to ro.kernel.android.checkjni=0
reboot
Enjoy the apps that used to FC on you!
Just tested this out of a hunch that whatever was causing Pocket Legends to FC for rQvsnaps, caused Skype to FC as well.
Skype now works perfectly!
niceee i just installed mdj 2.5 >_>
Reserved for me...
Sweet, will test this out and report back. How stable is the GPS? Most GB builds I have tested will lock signal for about a minute then lose signal for 30 seconds etc.
is there only a version for the clockmod ??? i want a version to flash on nand without clockmod ...
Will try
cool ... download and will try it, Thanks
Oooh Hyperdroid NAND GINGERBREAD? Nice! Other than another AOSP ROM, can we expect anything more from this build?

I will probably wait for MAGLDR v1.13 before releasing a Flashable version just to be sure I can incorporate any changes (if ever) in the partitioning and all.

[DL Desire v4.31.44.12][Sense RE-Engineering] Highlights
Click to collapse
1. Sense Re-Engineering
Recompiled all the apps and framework for lowest RAM consuming and highest performance
2. Merged DesireZ and DesireHD
mixed the advantage features from both DesireZ and DesireHD into one build.
3. RAM fs
after testing for a week, come into one best way to utilize the RAMfs, by default, one 16M RAMfs will be created for app and market cache.
once set to ram_data=1, additional 1 RAMfs will be created for most accessed dalvik cache.
4. totally re-write the SuperInit
fixed a lot of bugs inside and optimize it again, once set ram_data=1, the boot time should be within 1min, in next version, the boot time will be reduced again.
5. added a lot of usable functions into SuperInit
- extend the backup/restore to be able to backup &restore to different build.s
- added more repair_mode, to be able to repair the nand system and reset the system.
6. use own kernel
freak kernel v1.2 to perfect fit our builds. Source: http://www.linux4freak.com/gitweb
hence, 2 parameters were added to best control the kernel
vdd_mode= xxx //for under/over volting cpu, [-150,-125,-100,-75,-50,-25,+25,+50]
sched_mode= xxx // "cfq" or "bfq"
And of course, thanks for people who ever helped me, encouraged me, donated to me!!!

New features for superinit v4.4
Buildin with IMG/EXT4/RAM support
--- by default will create a 16M RAMfs and use it as app_cache and cache.
--- once set the ram_data=1, will move the dalvik-cache of framwork into RAM
--- to roll back to normal status, use the ram_data=11
-- Optimize the nand_data, which will also be able to move the dalvik-cache of framwork into Nand.
-- add new backup_img=2 to back apps from data, which is used for changing the build, the backup_img=1 will back up the whole data, once restore to a new base, will incur the UID inconsistent issue. should use restore_img=2 to restore.
-- add more function for repair_mode
-- repair_mode=1 will rescue the data partition.
-- repair_mode=2 can use the MAGLDR load system to repair the Nand system and mount the Nand system to /mnt/rescue
-- repair_mode=3 will reset the system, all the modified app, framework, lib, fonts that caused the issue will be removed, system will be reset to the origin without losing data and settings.
-- Auto detect the phone modal(EU or TMOUS)
--- for EU modal, will auto enable the data.img if the 2nd partition can not be found.
--- for TMOUS, if doesn't have 2nd partition and set the data_img=1, will auto bypass all the relative code to reduce the boot time.
-- Auto detect the boot mode (SD/MAGLDR/NAND)
--- auto select the best configuration for each boot mode
-- Auto partitioning the SDCard if set the format_ext4=9
-- Fixed a lot of bugs in previous version.
-- to best control kernel, added
vdd_mode= xxx //for under/over volting cpu, [-150,-125,-100,-75,-50,-25,+25,+50]
sched_mode= xxx // "cfq" or "bfq

that uses a static RAM allocation.

1. this dynamic RAM build can only work on freak kernel v1.3d or later.
2. can not set ram_data=1 which will worsen the overall performance.
3. normally, the build can work out of the box without any config.

no, no, it's just for us to test the new page, after finish, I will copy this to my thread.
Can I post my ideas here in this thread?
few notes for the first post.
what it's confusing it's the fact that you keep fixes and notes for older version..
well, for me, those are completely useless
new releases are there for solving bugs and problems of the old version
got a problem with 3.x?? update to 4.x. job done.
also some people could install old fixes them on the newer version, causing only problems
same story for the videos: they were great to show the build.
but as 4.x introduces a lots of improvements, the videos may not reflect the reality
WIP for second post:
now I need to do the links
let me know if you want something else.

Working on a title now..
all ideas are acceptable until we reach the best solution
for the title, I simply used Wordart from Work 2010
that's the result
to import the title, I simply took a screenshot

Hi
Thanks for this amazing site and all the support and in particular this version of android
Maybe a stupid question but is it possible to upgrade from 3.5 to 4.1 or do i have to backup and start again for 4.1?
Cheers and TIA!

WOW!!!
once again with gpc kernel!!!
I love it...that way I didn't updated from 3.4 till now.....
according to me it's the best kernel for the phone...also if sometime 3g and wifi data doesn't start to connect.....however I can't wait for testing it!
Greetings to all!
At attempt to change framework has caught cyclic reboot for ever.
Did all as it is recommended: has removed through rootexplorer framework.apk and has tried to insert new through Update_DL.
Has not worked. For me.

hmm, the 1.85 framework is not compatible with old version, you can use this http://uot.dakra.lt/ to do it from the original framework.res.

Frequently Asked Questions
My calendar sync isn't working!
I'll fix this in Essentials Add-on RC2
Can I mount the phone as mass storage via USB?
The default configuration is to transfer files via MTP from within android. The below command can be used to change into USB Mass Storage mode (starting from BUILD6). USB Mass Storage mode is always used in recovery.
Code:
setprop persist.sys.usb.config mass_storage,adb
Please reboot after executing the command.
I can't adb into the phone!
The build currently uses Galaxy Nexus driver due to the MTP support. Please download the driver here: http://www.multiupload.com/BUCFT8M42N. In mass storage mode (or recovery), the Nexus S driver should be used.
Can I flash other modems?
You may flash modem packages designed for CM7.
Does 3G work? Do I need to install a script for it?
3G works out of the box without the need for any script hack. If it doesn't connect, please check if you have the correct APN.
How do I take a screenshot?
The screenshot taking function is built into ICS. Hold volume down + power.
Can I use CM7 kernels?
No, the kernel has modifications to make graphics, camera, data counter and data limit work.
Can I disable LED Notification?
Yes. Untick Settings -> Display -> Pulse notification light.
Maps keeps asking me to sign in even though I'm signed in!
Ignore the sign in dialog and pull down the notification menu. Answer the request for permission. Do this a few times and Maps will work.
How do I enter Galaxy S Settings (Device Settings)?
Type "am start com.cyanogenmod.AriesParts/.AriesParts" from adb. Or starting from BUILD 7, it is available as an icon in your launcher.
How do I enter service mode?
Type "*#*#197328640#*#*" into the dialer.
Is there a Captivate/Vibrant version?
A captivate build from the same source (but with captivate config) is available here. We currently lack a developer/maintainer for Vibrant.
Does this work for I9000B?
No, the I9000B requires a different kernel configuration. A build for I9000B may be added later in the process.
What's working? Why is there only a list of issues?
Everything else not listed are supposed to be working (aside from the usual CM7 bugs). If they're not listed, please post so that they can be added to the list of issues. A list of issues is far more useful from a development standpoint.
Why am I getting notified that my data partition is getting full when I have 1+ GB free?
Your /datadata partition, a smaller partition, is getting full.

To All,
Please keep in mind that this is a very early Test release of ICS and still in Alpha phase.
ICS S.U.R.F.A.C.E. is completely dependent on the releases made by Teamhacksung
It will be basically a stripped down version of Teamhacksung but with all the fixes, patches, mods, hints and tips,... found in Pawitp's thread already integrated. The Essentials pack will be basically the latest Gapps with some stuff removed, some apps added, fixes, optimied & zipaligned,...
ICS S.U.R.F.A.C.E. is just for testing purposes only and to play around with
It's a work in progress and together we can make this ready for everyday use, for YOU and everybody else

somehow i have problems with downloading from mediafire (interrupted 5th time atm) ;/

How do you guys like the ram management of ICS? Have you tried playing heavy games on it yet like shadowgun, sleepy jack, modern combat 3?

Voodoo Control is working perfectly fine, except for the color tuning.

It could well be that the integrated APN list is not readed correctly in ICS. I will investigate this.
Please be aware that the task manager is completely renewed in ICS.
Just long-press the home button and swype the apps you want to remove
TB is working fine for me but I'm sure updates to that app for ICS will follow soon also

If you flash this ROM your phone will be working alright JJustin Perhaps better stick to S.U.R.F.A.C.E. v8.0 (Samsung version) to be in a more stable environment?
I played, Asphalt 6 Adrenaline, Can Knockdown II, Samurai II Vengeance, Dungeon Hunter II, Nova II,... without any errors or lag, just as on Samsung ROM's
Multiupload links added @ 1st post
Just flashed the updated base (RC2) and essentials (still RC1?), and I still can't get my calendar to sync. Same problem as before on RC1. I did a factory reset and wiped cache/dalvik cache after I flashed base+essentials.
Is it working for anyone else? Also, just a minor thing, in 'about phone' it still says Surface RC1.
edit: I also cannot get my APN to work.. I filled in all the fields, although I don't understand why this would be necessary. I don't really know what to fill in the 'server' field, right now I have http://live.vodafone.com but I'm not sure if that's correct, because it's always been empty.

Sam, should I use a teamhacksung's ICS build 10 as base to flash your ICS? Or maybe I cam flash straight from cm7, like teamhacksung's release?

I think you should be fine if you do a factory reset/wipe (dalvik) cache and then flash ICS Surface. You can just follow the instructions from the first page..

myMIUI i18n Project - MIUI Internationalization
The time you all been waiting for has finally come!
For over a year, people across the world have been using myMIUI as their primary ROM, but something wasn't quite right, there was still a missing piece in the puzzle, something which could have made this ROM even better, even more personalized, even more awesome!
Now its time to make the puzzle complete!
After many hours of work, I've finally managed to write all the needed tools for a complete, easy to maintain, ROM translation. This is where you step in; this is the time to show your support, not only to myMIUI but to your nation! Now its the time to make myMIUI in your native language!
Translating is quite simple! All the information you need to know is on GitHub:

#Information
Information
myMIUI IDE© (Internal Data Extension)
PLEASE DON'T USE ANY THIRD PARTY TOOLS!
The ROM includes cutting edge technology to extend your phone's internal memory by using SDCard's EXT partition.
Furthermore, all the great features below been integrated directly into the kernel. No need to worry about security, performance or stability issues.
Included in myMIUI IDE©:
UNLIMITED INTERNAL MEMORY
UNLIMITED CACHE MEMORY
Legendary myMIUI SCRTM©
Cache2DATA
Apps2EXT
Dalvik2EXT
Data2EXT
What you need to enable myMIUI IDE©:
BACKUP ALL DATA FROM SDCARD
format SDCard
create an EXT2/3/4 partition on your SDCard (recommended: 1GB EXT / 0MB SWAP)
perform a reboot
How it Works?
When the ROM detects an SDCard with an EXT partition, it will run the SCRTM© routine after which the EXT partition will become your userdata partition (a.k.a. "/data").
This will allow unlimited internal memory for your HTC HD2; performance may be severely degraded with low class SD cards!
Clean Start
If you ever need a clean start, just switch your SDCard with a clean one and the system will automatically reset itself.
Users without an EXT partition
Although users without an EXT partition will not see the benefit of myMIUI IDE©, they won't experience any issues whatsoever. The ROM will use the internal NAND memory from their "/data" partition.
Important Note: For IDE© enabled phones; Do not remove your SDCard from your phone while its on. Doing so may cause data corruption and/or OS freeze.

zipAlign
The ROM speeds up your performance by using a zipAlign routine which will tweak all your applications so that they will run optimally on the Android OS.
The routine uses a database for all the applications which it already tweaked so it won't tweak the same application twice.
If you install a lot of new applications that need tweaking, it might take some time for your phone to boot up; the speed greatly depends on the application size.
What you need to enable zipAlign:
SDCard with at least 100MB of free space
nothing else! everything is done at boot time automatically

Nexus S ID
The first question you might ask yourself is: "why would I want to spoof my device's identity?"
The answer is simple: Google Play Marketplace downloads.
By default the ROM identifies the device as a "generic HTC HD2" which is the correct way of naming our beloved HTC HD2, although some users might want to change that so that they can install applications that weren't meant to run on HD2.
What you need to spoof your device identity to Nexus S:
Select "Nexus S ID" while installing
nothing else! everything is done automatically
WARNING: If you install an application and it crashes, its because its not compatible/been improperly installed due to the fake device configuration.
Some applications, especially from the Market use the device information to perform different installation routines (figure out SDCard mount points, OpenGL compression methods, etc...), so use at your own risk

Your SDCard seems to be making permission problems mate. I suggest you format it and restore only the stuff you absolutely need.
It particular I saw that Mobo Video Player requesting for data which it can't access. Also it seems YellowPages app is throwing lots of errors, might need to contact them.
Finally, I saw you are using JuiceDefender which isn't really needed and might add to the battery drain since it is a service which run all the time at the background. I suggest you try the ROM without it. For best results you'd need to config WIFI Sleep Policy to "Never". I've got -5mA drain with WIFI On all the time and no JuiceDefender.

Its final Interface is en_US.
myMIUI v13 will have AROMA and cLK, and after that I will focus on Multilingual support.

Currently the /system partition is 140.9MB but as soon as I add multilingual support in the next releases it will jump up considerably. Unless you want to re-partition later-on I suggest 200MB.

I suspect that if you do that you will get FCs. Also you will over-write some of the tuning I did for the ROM.
If you feel comfortable restoring your phone in case it hangs, you could try that and report back...
