8gb sdhc card or 8gb hc - EVO 4G Accessories

i have question which card is better to keep for evo 4g.
samsung 8gb sdhc class 2 or Adata 8gb hc class 6?
thx

adata makes excellent quality memory modules of all types, it will obliterate the samsung class 2 in every possible way

ok cool thanks

Not only is Adata a reliable brand but if you look at the class, it's faster too. That's assuming you meant sdhc, not "hc". Make sure you read correctly. "hc" is not a type of card. Don't get scammed.

oh ok yes sdhc is that Adata card,
cuz i just bought new htc evo 4g and they give u 8gb samasung card so i was wondering which card is better,,
thank you

Yes there is, I've benchmarked both (2x 8GB Samsung from HTC, 1x 8GB Sandisk from HTC, 2x 8GB Sandisk not from HTC). They are both crap in terms of write speed (HTC bought the cheapest batch from both companies, the 8GB cards that you buy from retailers can reach 10-14mb/s write speed. Apparently certain batches of Sandisk 8GB class 2 have crazy write speeds), but Sandisk reads much much faster.

SanDisk ships 32GB microSDHC card for $200
Just curious what the actual limit is of our Touch Pro 2's SD card slot. Currently i have an 8gig in it, but want a bigger one. Thought about 16gig's but would like to put all my music on it.
Also, how fast can the sd slot go? Does it support class 6+ cards?
I believe the Rhodium can handle class 6 cards. but im not 100% sure.
Its max is 32gb.
I was gonna purchase one. But way back when i got my phone 32gb cards didn't exist lol
I've got a Sandisk Class 2 16GB at the moment and its absolutely fine
Pack full of music

Whats the best Memory card for S3

I just got my S3 (United States) and and tried 3 (YES 3) Lexar 32 GB Class 10 cards and every one of them have failed. I called Lexar, they say to have my firmware upgraded. Went to Sprint and verified everything is fine with the phone. The cards won't work in other phones at Sprint Either. Before buying another card I'd like to know from you guys which one out there will work with no problems, speed, and size is important for me. I know I'll be using more memory than the 32gb in the future. I called Sandisk and they recommended their SDSDQUA-032G Ultra 32 Class 10 and said it would work. Sprint says they know the Class 6 works in the S3.
I'd like more than 32gb. and fast write & Read speeds.
Can I get some great recommendations from you before I buy another piece of crap. Two weeks now and I still don't have a working card. Lucky I have Amazon prime membership.

I use a 32gb Sandisk Class 10 SDHC Card, this thing works. Problem with anything bigger then 32gb is that you have to use sdxc and this is only really compatible in fat32 or exfat, for both you have to format the card before inserting into the phone.
Try the SanDisk 32gb Mobile Ultra UHS-1 because it's cheaper than normal class 10 Mobile Ultra and just as fast, and I've been using it a while with no problems.
I am quite happy with my Sandisk Ultra 64GB SDXC. No issues at all.
What do I need to format

I would like the larger size. What would I need to format the bigger size. I wouldn't have a problem with that if I had some detailed instructions.
Thanks.
Sandisc Ultra 64gb micro sd xc1
Sandisc Ultra 64gb micro sd xc1 was my choice and its worked well over the last 4 years. Its the phone that has bricked after Little use in October 27/2016. Changed the battery it needed it. Now its bricked.
I have a SanDisk but I was told that SanDisk aren't good for Samsung S3's
Hello,
I'd recommend the Toshiba Exceria memory card, either with 16, 32 or 64GB. This card is a class 10 card with UHS 3. Although the S3 can't use the full speed of the micro SD, this is a well working combination.
Has anyone tried 128gb sdcard ?
I plan to buy,
Transcend Premium 400X 128GB CLASS10 SDHC/SDXC UHS-1, and just wondering if it work

I'm using a 128gb card from lexar on it and works fine..
(mine's the i747m just to clear it up...)
I have the SanDisk 64GB ultra sdxc or whatever it's called. It works very well with no issues and I have 1,000+ pictures stored on it with about 30 videos.
Quick question. Would a SD card and adoptable storage on a ROM be a good solution for the Samsung device?
Yes, a SD card is always good, especially for backups

[Q] MicroSDHC

is our galaxy 3 is compatible for microsd 2.0? does it support MicroSDHC. and if yes does that make any difference.
I read that HC stands for high capacity even transfer speed is more..so wanted to buy 4 gb class 6 MicroSDHC.. is it a good option :silly:

I have 8 class 8GB microsdhc card and works fine. No problems. Writing speed is aprox. 4,2 MB/s if it helps.
I have 8GB class 6 microsdhc and it works fine.
I had the same question...but I directly approached the Samsung guys...they told me that for sg3 microsdhc cards up to class 6 are supported. Above classes will work but not at their optimal speed.

[Q] 32 GB Memory Card

Is it advisable to go for the memory card for S3 ? Would it slow the data access speed ?
I am thinking of to get 32 GB memory card, though i am open for 64 GB too provided its not very expensive.
For 32 GB card i found SanDisk, Samsung's own card on amazon, can someone suggest which memory card is better (for 32 GB) and for (64 GB) for Samsung Galaxy S3 (ATT) .
I would recommend SanDisk, from a reputable seller for either size.
Personally, I wouldn't worry about getting a memory card unless you're running out of storage space. External cards will be slower than internal storage, but with a sufficiently high speed card, you won't really notice the difference in most cases.
I wouldn't really worry about brand unless you've never heard of the company (in which case beware).
I only advised SanDisk because of the 64 gb size. I've heard reports of some people having problems. I personally have a 32GB class 10 SanDisk that has been great. I use it as my storage for most everything on device (even my TiBu folder).
I'll take the opportunity to note that an SD card is great for backup purposes. It made getting my newest phone up and running with all my old data a breeze.
Exactly. Tbh, it's the same card i had in my Inspire, which had no usable internal storage. Plus, put everything on the external and if the phone suddenly craps out you won't lose your photos, etc.

thank you all for suggestions:
narrowed down my choice to :
ht tp:// www .amazon.com/SanDisk-microSDHC-Memory-Adapter-SDSDQUA-032G-U46A/dp/B007XZM6VG/ref=sr_1_5?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1348441022&sr=1-5&keywords=sandisk+ultra+microsdhc

Couldnt decide which to go and whats the difference between these ? Are these even good ones ?
i'm using the 64gb sandisk class 10 with no probs..the only thing i had to do was what other users have reported: reformat to fat32. it's been really fast. it seems to perform a lot better when it's connected in media mode as opposed to the usb mass storage mode in my experience. if u can find one for about 50 bucks, I think it's really worth it.
I grabbed a Samsung Class 10 32 GB card from Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005TUQV0E/
From what I can tell it gets the job pretty well. Benchmark speeds are fairly close to the advertised speeds.
Thanks
i am confused between:
SanDisk 32GB Mobile Ultra MicroSDHC UHS-I High Speed Class 10 Card (New Version) with Komputerbay SDXC USB Reader

Isn't every micro/mini, /sd card... I've washed cards many times...

The difference is the Adapter is microSDHC to SD whereas
the USB reader one is a microSDHC to USB.
I got the USB reader since it's USB and can use in anything. The micro to SD you could use for a macbook or for photo/video in camera.

For day to day use, you will see no difference on Class 6 or 10 ... if you plan to copy/move large files or music files on a regular basis, then maybe a little ... Will definitely not affect any performance like Camera app, etc.
And I still prefer 32GB Class 10 for now.
64gb C10

there's no such thing as too large of a mem card,
if u have the money then go for the 64gb C10
Does the Note come with a card already installed? I just ordered this morning but have 32Gb SanDisk. I was going to get 64Gb SanDisk and leave 32Gb in my Motorola Photon. If Note comes with card already installed, if lesser I will put that in Photon and sell it

hi,
no,i got my note 2 out of box with no sd card.Had to use my own.
good luck
Class 6 and Class 10 write speed in Note 2 won't be a big difference.
I found Note 2's external memory controller write speed capped at around 10-11MB/s
But for read speed, it will be a BIG difference.
I am using Samsung 64GB UHS-I Pro micro SD.
Having like 55MB+/sec read speed.
with my old Lexar 32GB Class 10 only got 13MB/s read speed.
So, if you concern of read speed, get fastest card you can afford.
if your main concern is write speed, get a class 6 or class 10 would be fine.
And don't get SanDisk ultra. it's known to have problem with Note 2.

That suck's for a $299.00 high end phone? even a 16Gb would have been better than nothing and they go for $15.00! Oh well......

I bought mine in Hong Kong for USD 95.
It's expensive yeah but it's the fastest 64GB micro SD you can buy.
It's good for you that you don't have problem with SanDisk Ultra but you can search for Note 2 + SanDisk Ultra.
It has a known problem, after awhile of use or the disk capacity reached certain amount.
Sometimes it will unmount the card or even damage the files in the card.
You can only re format the disk to solve the problem.
MANY people reported this problem. I don't know maybe trigger rate is not 100% but still not recommended.
Darkinners, thanks for your responds and suggestions (which I took and did a search, then some research!)
1. All of these complaints on SanDisk were about the 32Gb Card, not the 64Gb card. All the 64Gb comments were good.
2. The people with issues (both 64Gb and 32Gb) had formatted the card at exFAT, not SDXC. Mathamatically, I can pretty much figure out a.) why it will not write files over 4Gb and b.) why the 64Gb exFAT crashes after it fills over 16Gb! (Think about it, SIII is desinged to read/store 32Gb, not 64Gb even though it will format exFAT. And as for the kid whos computer would not read the 64Gb exFAT, i bet he has 32-bit machine?
3. All complaints were from Europe and blamed on a bad batch of cards (it happens). The one happy individual I saw got his card from Amazon, which is a ligit website. Just because the card says SanDisk, does not mean it actually SanDisk. Cheap forgien vendors use this lable to make them look legit?
4. The card you mentioned and the SanDisk are priced about the same, $59.99USD. I will get SanDisk and format either in phone or my laptop as SDXC and play for awhile. If it piss me off, I will return it!
Again, thanks for your input and suggestions!
