JPC STUCK! - Galaxy S I9000 Android Development

please please help guys
im from delhi. flashed JPC some days ago and it was working just fine
i have now travelled outta the country for a few days. everything was fine on my SGS until some hours back .. the phone just switched off and then on and now it is just stuck on the first screen which says SAMSUNG GALAXY S I9000. it is not going into the S logo screen which is the first part of the boot up.
i tried VOLUP+HOME+POWER combo but nothing happens.. it wont go into recovery mode.. it just keeps booting again and get stuck in the first screen which i mentioned.
however if i try VOLDOWN+HOME+POWER it does go into download mode.
now the thing is i do have my laptop with me but i didnt get the data cable to try and reflash the phone with me since i didnt imagine this could happen
i really need to use my phone since my google account has all my contacts.
please please HELP !!

I had same problem with black screen and just the buttons where lite up, i was after installing the update for samsung taskmanager from samsungs own app store, the phone worked well after install, but then i did a power off then then i did not start.. and did a factory reset and tried the same again, phone booted up right after factory restore and then i tried to install new version of samsungs own taskmanager and the same thing happend again after a shutdown, did not boot correctly, just black screen

If it's about the contacts and you have your laptop with you, log into your gmail with your google account?
Otherwise, without recovery mode and without cable there's not much you can do. Althrough I read about getting into recovery mode by heating the phone? Don't know the details about that though...

are we clear that its the samsung task manager that is causing this problem?
the exact same thing happend to me, i havent updated the taskmanager yet but i dont want to turn the phone off i case it sticks and i have to do a factory reset.
im still on samsung taskmanager 1.11 - i think its version 1.14 in the samsung app store at the minute
OP - when you try VOLUP+HOME+POWER - try releasing the power button for 1 second when on the 1st samsung boot screen, that usually works for me

I got the same problem Yesterday. impossible to start the phone I flash it again with the same problem so i get back to JM6 and now it works again

The problem is caused by the new Samsung Task Manager in Samsung Apps. Don't install it.
You have to do a Clear Data through the recovery boot (VOL UP, HOME, POWER).
Hopefully you have a Titanium Backup...

The stuck issue is know. When you install new task manager but usually you should be able to vol up + home + power and wipe data

It could be you install a launcher like launcher pro n did not set default launcher.
Best thing is to reset.
Vol up home and power key.
Release power key when u see the S letter but keep vol up and home pressed.

Hello,
The same happened to me also a few days ago, and i did't know what caused it. i think i installed the task manager update also. i wasn't able to go into recovery mode either. i just removed the battery, puit it back in then tried again and it worked. i did a factory reset and it booted.
hope this helps

OH NO, i installed that task manager also.
means that i cant switch off my phone from now on?

I had the same problem with the jpc but without installing the task manager. Also other people I know had the same problem from one day to another. I think its a jpc problem in general.
I made a factory reset, but four days later same problem. So I decided to switch back to jm7, now the problem is gone...

ATT TILT 2 owned since released stuck in Boot Screen

I have a Stock TILT 2 (TP 2) never flashed running basic programs Mobile Shell never had any issues with it, haven't installed new software in a few weeks , but I soft resetted it this morning and it keeps getting stuck in the boot screen. when first turned on it will run through boot screen then load screen for a millisecond then back to boot screen and never advances again , I've tried battery out sim card out Sd card out everything, even tried hard reset , but wont allow me to hard reset with front buttons and power, is there another way to hard reset , is it possible my phone just bricked for no reason ? thanks for any help ?
have you tried to do a hard reset via the pc? the original rom is on the htc website so you can try useing the exe file there. there is also an updated rom you can try to flash there. hope that helps
You might try sending it to the bootloader screen and reflashing. I don't know if it will work, but I thought it might be worth the effort.
I did notice that HTC removed the original shipped ROM for the Tilt2. I'm sure it is floating around here somewhere. If not, I have it and can send it to you when I get home.
Thanks I have original rom and just released wont work.
dod you see anythign on teh screen? if you do, then hard reset may fix it.
Power off your phone (or take teh battery out). Then press and hold teh call and hang up button while press teh power button. it will enter the hard reset mode. (remember hard reset will erase all the info on the phone and rever tot the stock setting).

wow, thank god i dl'd it when i dl'd the updated rom... and they still have the image of the old rom right beside it... lol
as for op, you can try to enter the bootloader with the following steps
Remove the back cover from the phone.
Hold the Volume Down button.
Use the stylus to press the reset hole.
Or if the device was powered off, press the power button whilst holding down the Volume Down button.
and try to flash from there
hope that helps again

[Q] Bootloop & Recovery don't work

Hi guys:
I have this phone from about 10 months ago. I have always it rooted and with CyanogenMod, actually with CM7.
Today I was using my browser, and then it closed, the phone begin giving me a lot of errors, any application worked and I decided to reset it, because sometimes that work.
For my surprise, when I reseted it, It was bootlooping, It start booting (cyanogen logo doing circles), then freezes and then reset.
I know how to work with this problems and I reseted it on recovery and when I entered to the recovery everything seems to be fine, but I only see the menu, when I try to install zip from sd card, go to mount & stored, go to clear cache, or enable USB the screen just get empty but its ON.
Im very frustrated, I don't know how to proceed in this situation, I have looked in the Troubleshooting thread but have not found anything that worked for me with boot looping.
I hope someone can help me, sorry for my english, it's not my main language.
what button are you pressing to select the menus? Power?
Yes Im using power button.
Before I used the power button but now tried using the middle button and it worked.
Lets see if it recover correctly.
Yes because power button turns off the screen.

Stuck power button

Stuck power button -_-
you just tried me sir.....
no disrespect but...
that means you think im stupid enough to not know if my power button is broken..... -_-
I FIXED IT YALL!!!! freeking hours upon hours were spent here
ill tell you how i fixed it...
well first i read something about a JIG... a usb jig that makes the phone do directly into download mode....
and i was thinking... hmmm i think iv seen this before automatic download mode...
ah ha! i know i have this thick LG micro usb cable that for some reason if i have low battery it makes it go into download mode..
So... while it was pluged into the wall outlet with ebay battery charger/ usb power outlet and sliped the battery in right quick.
So the cable hooked up to power outlet put in first and quickly the battery is slipped in to make it go into download mode..
however... i only get like 2 seconds before it will shut offf...
so... i turned on odin on my pc and used that cable from my pc. and then hooked up phone to pc via that LG micro usb cable and sliped in the battery fast! then it was in download mode and then i clikced start on the odin ( file preselected) then it will fail and some stuff willbe messed up on the phone and then you can try it again. however this time instead of a download screen its a this phone has problems with recovery and then connect to kies screen.
then use odin while on that screen and proceede.
and boom pass!
however when i put on stock tmobile ics.. my calling wasnt working... WTF!
so i had to put on CWM recover back on the phone via odin..
then i used the backup file i previously made...
Im un bricked!
YES YALL! im unbricked and if this **** bricks again its going on craigs list bc i know it will last a few days before it bricks again
thank you anyways xda.... im not high tech if you cant tell but i can put clues together..
boot loop problem was but no more
Hay had the same darn problem I fixed it by doing hard reset(volume down, menu button, and power button released on first vibration)
Then I went into cwm and went to advanced menu and mounted all but external sd and formatted each one.
Then reflashed stock 2.3.6 GB ROM. Fixed in about 30 min. My phons has not bricked again yay for me
My devices
Cricket zio running bare bones
Samsung galaxy II running rebelrom
T mobile sgs II running stock root 2.3.6
Because I have not found a ROM I like yet!!
Reformatting worked for me

Success!
My bootloop was caused by a bad CWM factory reset or cache wipe with CWM version 6.0.1.9. Nandroid restore from version 6.0.1.9 was of no help as it failed on the MD5 checksum. Odin flashed older CWM, version 5.0.2.6. In CWM version 5.x, reformatting as laniclamoore suggested and restoring nandroid worked for me.
After getting the boot loop solved, I ran DARKSIDE's cache wipe to fix the shutdown hang on pink splash screen 'Goodbye!'. Hang at shutdown was a separate problem caused by CWM version 5.0.2.6.
Lessons learned: CWM sometimes breaks stuff. Good to keep old version of CWM the ones that correspond to the nandroid.
What a pain but it is great to have the Android community to help.
@laniclamoore, Thanks a bunch. I thought my S II was going to be permanently boot looping paperweight.
On T-mobile Samsung Galaxy S II, stock root ICS ROM, 4.0.3.
FIXED: Vibrating Problem on Power Switch onSamsung Galaxy S2 (SGH-T989)
I had the similar problem with my SGH-T989. Searched the web and tried a few feasible solutions, but to no avail. Until NOW: Please follow the YouTube link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pqBgbN8NLjI) which provides a FIX to the Power Switch.
It WORKED for me, hope it works for you too.
Cheers

I just got this S3 and it wont stop rebooting...

Ok So I just bought this att s3 from Craigslist. As soon as I got home it started restarting , it will reboot like after 10 seconds.
It boots as far as the Samsung logo then restarts. Sometimes it goes all they way to att splash screen then reboots.
What I have tried to fix.
1) boot to recovery whipe data and dalvik, but it won't give me enough time to copleate the command before it restarts.
2) boot to download mode but won't stay on enough time to hook it up to my pc the use odin on it.
3)Booted safe mode and the phone booted up all the way then the power menu came up then restarted.
Im out of ideas Do you think the mother board is messed up?
Plzz help thank you for looking and for your help/...

Did you ask if this was rooted before you got it ? So you got the phone home and had done nothing to it before it started rebooting or did you do something and it start ?
I've heard this happen when someone had a wipe for bad and the recovery gets borked but it could be the power button as well. The hard reboot happens after the power button has been pushed for 10 seconds. This could explain the constant reboots/ Mess around with it and see if that helps. I had this happen on a skyrocket and cappy and the button got "unstuck"

It's not really a matter of it not clicking physically on the outside but something sticking under that button.
From your initial post to you stated it not always restarting at the exact same point during the boot up. Tend to make me think physical.
If its not rooted and has stock recovery someone might have rooted it before and then tried to put it back stock and borked it somehow.
Have you tried downloading Odin 3.07 and see if it's recognized ?
Did it boot when you bought it ? Please don't tell me you bought it without seeing it boot up first...

Note II GT-N7100 Not Turning On at all

Hello Everyone!
First of all, let me say that i'm desperately in need of help with my phone. Here's what happened to it so everyone knows.
My Phone was bought in UAE and was given to me, i live in the Philippines and it was working fine, i can use it on everyday tasks Until, a few days ago my phone performed updates (auto updates) which made it froze, i tried to press and hold the power button but it doesn't turn off. I removed the battery and restarted my phone then all i get is the Boot screen. I went to recovery mode to perform a wipe/factory reset. it returned with a lot of errors about files missing, etc etc...
At that point i thought that my phone might have been updating the OS when it froze so i DLed a stock firmware because i can still go to download mode.
After a day (crappy internet + limited download speed from sammobile) i finished the firmware download then tried going to download mode on my phone but now, my phone doesnt turn on at all. when i press and hold power+down vol+home nothing happens. i tried going back to recovery mode and still nothing happens. Even if i just press the power key nothing happens at all. I tried charging the phone but its not charging as well, The Battery Icon is not showing on the screen anymore but after minutes f charging i can feel my phone getting warmer.
Anyone experienced this issue before or knows how to fix it? i do not believe that the battery died because it was working just a day before.
Any help and TIPS would greatly help.
again: I cannot go to download/recovery mode nor go to the boot screen.
Hello there,
Try to connect your phone to PC and press power button / vol / home button simultaneously, if PC still recognize your phone, then you still got chance to recover it using Octoplus software?
