with gparted no problem at 3years old kid
Just download http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php burn using nero ar other burner boot cd and make as you need. You must change in bios boot priorities to start use cd. NO install need, after booting a cd you get temporary linux from cd. When you turn off cd from your pc - xp returns back.

I advice you to get magic partition manager (perfect for windows plateforms)
and format all the sdcard :
a fat32 partition
a ext2/3/4 partition of maximum 1Gb (best performances)
Enjoy it _ hope it helps you
My last piece of work

How can I backup my JB GN via USB

Hi mates, i've been trying to backup (to Windows 7) my JB GN via USB (MTP) unsucesfully, suddenly the backup process just shut itself and when I tried to backup via AirDroid just takes forever.
Is there an app or a way to backup my GN to my PC, the entire /sdcard content, my GN is not rooted.
Thanks in advance.
Enrique.
Piece by piece.
Or:
Code:
adb pull /data/media/ /SDCARD/
This will backup your SDcard to a SDCARD folder on your C:\ drive.
Well, I have installed JDK 7, Android SDK, downloaded tools for USB and set the $PATH env on Control Panel, yet I dont manage to get the 'adb' prompt from windows cmd, is there anything I'm missing or should I do an adiccional steps?
Thanks.

[SOLVED] How can I backup my JB GN via USB
After installing the afore mentioned software, I closed the previously oppened windows prompt (duh! my fault!), created the folder 'SDCARD' in C: drive, and afterwards I executed the following command from the promt:
Code:
adb pull /storage/sdcard0/ /SDCARD/
Which from Astro File Manager I see its the location of my data; currently as I write I see the backup working.

Well, after proceeding as mentioned above I now check the sizes of my backup and of the sdcard0 partition at my GN and they are almost 1.4GB different, what does this mean? It's because of the 'formatting' space reduced (not sure if my english can explain what I meant) or what can it be?
Thanks all for your replies.

[Q] Help with file management while inside TWRP or CWM.

I am sorry if this has been asked many times, but seriously I can not get a straight answer via the search command here on XDA.
[ PROBLEM #1 ] Can not see my phone or sdcard via TWRP file manager (recovery)
I have pluged in the cable from phone to PC. In device manager it shows me this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
I have installed the Samsung USB drivers
download-samsung_usb_driver_for_moblie_phones_v1_4_6_0-exe/ and installed it.
*NOTE*
If I boot into my ROM ( Infamous custom ROM ) I can see my phone and my sdcard.
... BUT ...
Back into recovery ( Power button + Vol down ) TWRP | MOUNT | MOUNT USB w/ all boxes checked except USB-OTG
The phone is plugged into my PC, I am looking for Phone and Card via file manager ( Windows 7 ) they are not there.:
What am I doing wrong ????
===================================
[ PROBLEM #2 ] While on my phone fully booted up to any custom ROM, I go to Windows Explorer and I do see my Phone
memory AND my micro-card, but I can not create folders on my cdard via explorer. I can move folder's from
my PC to the card but not create folders there .. also all the file sizes are the same.
No matter what the size of the folder or file is, Windows show them all at 51MB. Weird.
Any thoughts on this one ???
====================================
Last issue and very important question !!
[ PROBLEM #3 ] When I want to instal a new custom ROM on my phone, I do what most people do. Backup (nandroid)
Wipe / Factory Reset, Wipe Delv. Cache and System. Then I install the ROM. My question is, ... EVEN AFTER
I do all those wipes to the system, If I look at the phone's memory, there are tons of leftover remnants there from older programs.
I would like to do a Clean Instal onto a Phone that has no folders for any old programs on it. Doesn't TWRP or CWM do that ??
I know if I use wipe internal it will clean it all out, but it will also wipe /media/data and then I am screwed right ??
Any thoughts on this ??
Thank you for reading all this ... and help me even if you know just one the solutions to any of my 3 questions !! :victory:
Cheers :highfive:
