[Q] I only want calls through BT headset, not music too. - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

Can anyone tell me if its possible to NOT play music audio though my BT headset, while its connected? Id rather play music through the headphone/3.5mm jack.
Ive been using my tp2 for awhile, as my primary mp3 player, but now that I picked up a bluetooth headset (yes, just now) and leave it on in the car, the audio only goes through that.
Any way around that, or is this a matter of having my cake and eating it too?
Ive looked around a little on the BT options, but there isnt anything labeled "calls only" or "music audio only", etc.
I do have bluetooth music capabilities in the car and I have been using it as such. That is labeled "Stereo Audio". (Ive decided to switch to the 3.5mm jack and sync bt to the headset)
The headset is labeled "Hands-free"...and thats all I want it to be.
(Music player is TCPMP)
Summary:
Music audio through headphone jack
Calls through BT headset
...simultaneously

I've been trying to figure out the same thing. No luck.

What BT headset do you have and does it support A2DP?
Disabling A2DP on my Jawbone ICON seemed to do the trick.

Try this?
Start, settings, bluetooth. Click the gears, then advanced.
Scroll down to audio. Deslect "play system sounds on remote hands free device".
I like ALL sounds to come through the headset, if anything else, as to not bug others around me, but it's a personal choice.
I also have the Jawbone Icon, and, if you have A2DP running, everything comes through the headset...most of the time

Ringtone only in headset, driving me nuts!

in my tp2 i noticed that when i have a wired or bluethooth headset conected and someone calls me it only rings in the headphones! this made me lose several phone calls.
in other devices i had , i used a reg hack for it to ring in the device speaker and headphone,so i tried in my tp2 but it does not work as the reg hack is related to the microsoft bluethooth stack.
therefore i m asking for help and also if other tp2 users can confirm this issue.
my bt heaset is a jabra bt3030.
thanks
I am having the same problem with my TP2, the headset becomes useless for this reason.
I use a Sennheiser MM-200 headset, bought this headset not to have earphones plugged in ears all time but only when i have incoming call.
Not sure what to tell you about the wired headset, but is your BT using the normal headset BT profile or is it connecting also with A2DP/Stero BT? That could be part of the problem.
In the Bluetooth menu it is connected with: "Stereo Audio" and "Hands-free"
you can switch off the stereo audio function and stay with the hans-free function only. it works fine, but you have to do it manually.

I made a soft reset and now the phone rings even with stereo audio enabled - whats good for me, but i do not understand why
Hi Faria,
There is a setting in the BT config to transfer "ALL" system sounds to the connected audio device, this may be your issue. I don't use a wired but my Rhodium rings in the headset and on the device after removing this option.
Cheers,
Beasty
I really hate this feature too. I am used to listening to music on my BT hedset. So when I get home I would just take them off, put the phone on my desk and go about my business. But if I don't disconnect the headset now I won't notice it ringing... which can lose in lost phone calls.
Hopefully someone will find a workaround.
Start>Settings>Connections>Bluetooth
First tab (gears)>Advanced>Audio
"Play system sounds on remote hands-free device" = uncheck
Just tested and works for me.
I get the normal ringtone from the phone and the regular "beep" from the stereo headset.
FYI, this is basically the same information as listed two posts up...
On my old phone if my headset was in and my phone rang it would say call from and state the persons name through my headset. The ringer itself wouldn't play through my headset nor the phone. And now I can't remember but I know it beeps in my ear but I think the phone plays the actual ringer also at the same time. But if I checkmark what you guys are unchecking will the actual ringer play through my plantronics bt headset and not on the phone.. I kind of would like that for if I am out and dont' want my phone to ring all loud I would rather the ringer play in my ear and was wondering if that's what happens when I check that. Mine was unchecked when I got the phone.. I don't havea bt headset I use for music just talking mostly when driving..

Bluetooth headset question

I am using Motorola stereo Bluetooth headphones, and have encountered a new problem since I got my Evo.
When I used them with my BlackBerry, I could hear everything through the headphones, (phone calls, music, sprint navigation, etc). However, with my Evo, I can only hear phone calls through them. When I play music or Sprint Navigation, that sound is played through the phone's speaker.
Does anyone know of a setting that can be adjusted so that I can listen to my tunes though the headphones? If not, is there an app that can fix it?
Thank you in advance for your help.
I just paired my Jabra bt8010 and music played fine through it no added software..
search for motospeak in the market..you can also search a2dp for other bluetooth stereo apps.

[Q] Bluetooth audio question

Thanks to help from one of the members on here my bluetooth is now working fine for making/receiving calls.
However why does the audio from youtube app or tunein radio app not also come through my bluetooth device when paired and connected but instead through my HTC Desire loudspeaker?
Any one got any idea?
I'll try rephrasing the question.
Why doesnt a standard bluetooth in ear headset carry the full audio of my HTC Desire the way a pair of bluetooth headphones probably do and not just phone calls?
Either noone knows or the ones that do aren't seeing this thread.
I have Nokia BH-503 headset and I had the same problem. The calls would go through my headset, but everything else would play on the speaker. I noticed when I went to settings/Wireless & Networks/Bluetooth settings that my headset connects to phone audio, but not media audio.
I did some research and found a solution that works for me. I turn on the headset first, then bluetooth on my phone. Wait for a few seconds and that's that. My headset works perfectly and plays all audio from the device. When I go to settings, it says that the headset is connected to phone and media audio.
Try that and see if it works for you.
I'm only getting the option to use phone audio for some reason. I even tried switching my headset on first as you suggested.
My headset is a Nokia BH-102.
Any other ideas on how to get the media audio connected?
I think my bluetooth headset is just too crap to play media audio.

Bluetooth headset AND car stereo?

Hi
I'm just wondering what would happen if I have the phone playing podcasts through the car stereo, but also connect a Bluetooth headset? Will I just get the audio through both the car speakers and the headset?
I don't particularly want to listen just on the headset, but I need it in case of calls on a long journey sometimes!
It's probably going to depend on the particulars, what Bluetooth profiles they use, etc.
In my situation, I have my GNexus plugged into my Car Stereo with an audio cable, and Podcasts, etc. play through it just fine.
I have a visor-mounted Blueant S4 device paired to the phone. When a call comes in, my GNexus actually pauses the Podcast, and the phone call is routed through my Blueant S4, just as I would like it. When the call ends, the Podcast resumes, playing through my car stereo.
Works just perfectly for me, but I imagine the behavior will vary depending on the particular hardware, profiles used, etc.
Hmmm.... maybe I need a visor-mounted system, then... especially given my headset hurts my ear after about half an hour anyway!

Click to collapse
You can define what profile the device uses, Media and/or Phone audio. Just untick Phone on the stereo if it auto pairs that way and allow the headset to connect to phone. The actual audio content is routed to the appropriate stream.
Sorry if I was unclear. The phone would be connected to the car stereo via headphone, not Bluetooth...

ET4G using BT headset won't allow music to output to 3.5mm or speaker.

I am having a weird isssue. Just activated this phone and was using a Optimus S before this where everything worked pretty well but was slow.
I have my Motorola BT for hands free headset in the car. It's probably at least 3 years old but has always worked great with my tablets and other devices. I usually have my BT headset on in and a AUX cable in the headphone jack. I would play music from Google Play on my stereo and incoming/outgoing calls would automatically be routed to my headset. This all worked fine on Optimus.
I tried the same setup on my ET4G and when I try to make a call over BT headset I get no Audio in my headset. Also after that any music I play on Google Play, Pandora, etc doesn't get output to 3.5mm Aux jack. I pull out the headphone jack and no music is output to the external Speaker. It's as if the ET4G is possibly trying to output to my headset and doesn't let audio thru. However I don't hear any music thru my headset as it doesn't have A2DP.
A reboot will fix the 3.5mm jack and external speaker.
Any suggestions?
If you haven't already done it, go into BT settings, click on the settings for your device, and uncheck "Media audio".
