Wildfire SD card - Wildfire Accessories

I am planning to replace my 2GB class 2 microSD card, and came across to this Kingmax 8GB class10.
I am wondering if Wildfire can actually supports class 10 microSD card?

I dont see why not.

whats the point for class 10? Oo
such a waste of money.. my god...
unless its a 700$ camera dont do that Oo
take class 4...
and 16gb

See something about class 10. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=741060
I have class 4, 8GB and phone is quite fast. I think that class number is not that important, but 2 and 8 GB is big diference.

It should work but one thing you might want to check into. Most class 10 cards have a excellent write but slow read. Personally, I think you're better off with a class 6 to get the best of both read and writes.

I have an 8gb class 4 and that works fine for me

Just upgraded to a 8gb class 4 a few days ago and working great so far with openfire

Just bought a Kingston 8gb class 4, works fine!

I use 8gb left from my nokia e51, just formated it. Works fine.
Sent from my HTC Wildfire

Upgraded to a 16gb class 4 card. I'm getting transfer speeds of 8 to 10 mbps when copying stuff from my comp. Apps like poweramp work smoothly whereas with the 2gb card that came with the phone, playback was a bit choppy.

What MicroSD Classes Work with the Desire...?

My question was concerning my 16gb Class 6 card (which actually appeared to be corrupt/broke'd anyway)
I asked about compatibly with the Desire...

In regards to SD Cards
I can help you with that.
The card that you are trying to use is not compatible with the phone as the class is too high speed for the device to be able to keep up with the speed. I have included a link to a webpage with the sd cards that are compatible with that device.
http://www.expansys.com/a.aspx?i=196001
If you look under the accessory tab then down the bottom is compatible memory.
I trust that this resolves your query, please do not hesitate to contact us again if required.

I'm sure I read some threads about class 10's working fine in the Desire?
The link seems to suggest only a class 2 or a class 4 will work...
I'm using a class 4 without problems so far.
On a dutch board I read a guy was using a class 6 on Starbust so it should be possible I think.
I've just bought a 16gb class 4 Sandisk and the speed tests show it as being quite a bit faster than my class 4 (non Sandisk) 8gb card!
I'm using class 4, working fine
I'm using a 8GB class 6 card with Custom ROM and A2SD with no problem. Been over 6 months now.
A lot of class 10 cards have issues, class 6 seems to be the most reliable thus far. Some people have had good experiences with A-DATA 16gb class 10.
So from user experience - a good Class 6/10 card should work just fine?

For C6 yes.
For C10 Mostly yes... but usually class 10 is not really faster... so save the money.
Just my two cents.
I'm using Transcend 8GB class 6 without any problem. Try to format by gparted or similiar. Are you using it for any other purpose than storing photos, music or etc? For example for data2sd or apps2sd?
I just bought a transcend 16gb class 6, working perfectly so far with no problems.

I bought a 16gb class 6 to use with data2sd but struggled as the card was broken - so i've sent it back and just have the 8gb class 2 that i got with my phone now - and on stock rom again, so it is just photos and music and froyo app2sd at the moment
basically all branded cards will work fine, the thing you shoud be concerned more onthe capacity you are gonna use. It aint worth buying a 16GB sd when u cant fill even half of it with useful stuff
If speed is your thing then get a class 4 or 6 but I had SD mounted as read only with a class 4 8 gig Kingston SD, so I swooped with a buddy of mine for a class 2 SD from a Nokia n95, no problems since then.

[Q] can htc desire support class 10

currently running a class 2, and i do notice alot of lag when copy and saving stuff so wanna upgrade, thinking of getting this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Kingmax-mic...1AIC/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1299847078&sr=8-3
yea yea, i know if t "kingmax" so it will either be crap or amazing (more likely crap)
but my question is, is it worth getting a class 10, would the htc support it, and would it be able to make use of it?
thanks in advance
I have a "generic" 32GB class 10 OEM by a local company here in Malaysia, and I must say it is noticeably quicker than my previous class 4 16GB card when used in the phone (a2sd). Transferring files using the laptop on the other hand is wayyyy faster...
Whether its worth the money over a class 6 equivalent i can't say.
Regarding "Kingmax", I have a usb flash disk of theirs and its blazing fast Lets hope they are consistent.
I use a decent Samsung 8Gb class six and I get a 10-11Mbps transfer rate, which is more than enough for me. I got the card for something like £12. My old class four used to peak at about ~6Mbs if I remember rightly.
I have a class 10 kingmax and it's working great,i'm running data2sd on it and no issues at all. But i recall i heard some ppl had some lag issues with class 10 cards (not kingmax in particular). As for kingmax specifically it's guaranteed u'll get 10 Mb/s write speed.

Mine is a kingstone 16GB class 10 and it rocks !
I have a Kingmax 16GB Class 10 and I get above 10MB/s for both writing and reading when testing using SD Card Speed Test. However, the rom and kernel on your HTC does make a difference, I think, on whether your Desire can fully utilise the Class 10. I don't think it would be worth it to use a Class 10 over a Class 6 if you're using a stock rom, but if you're using a rom with data2ext or data2sd, that uses the SD card extensively, then it'd probably make a difference.

Need a good memory card

I want to max out the memory with a 32gb SDHC. Anyone have any suggestions?
The SanDisk 32GB is very good,
it performs higher than stated with regards to class and obviously is a highly reliable make.

Another vote here for sandisk, havent actually tried their 32GB, but every other card i've had from them has been faultless.
Most important thing w.r.t. memory cards IMO, is to buy from a reliable source. Ebay is rife with fakes.
Arc can handle up to class 6?
Or i shall order a class 8 or 10.
When i bought arc i had in the case a 16gb sdhc card, but i want a faster one
someone was able to get between 6.00 to 6.79 MB/s on his Class 6 16GB MicroSD, but that was on an X10. you might get similar results on the Arc.
(source)
just got a lexar 32gb class 10 card from amazon (solutek) works great , faster than standard card supplied with arc
I guess I'll try the Sandisk, much appreciated guys. Now I just need this phone to be shipped.
I Bought a Sandisk Class 4 32GB and it works fine for me.
The data transfer to the card seems faster when I take it out of the phone.
I was thinking of getting Lexar MicroSDHC 32 GB Class 10 from amazon for my arc so anyone have it already and how is it? cus i didn't see any sandisk microsd have class 10 32Gb.
I've used the original Sandisk MicroSd 8 Gb (Class 2) and a Class 6 variant... When you copy big numbers of mp3 or movies to the phone, it really makes a difference. Example: with a Class 2 it takes about up to 1 or more hours to transfer 1 Gb - a Class 6 does the job in less then 5 minutes...! But if you want to buy a good rated SD because of the HD-camera, then Class 2 should be high enough (according to the experts). Any higher only helps if you transfer data a lot/often (like changing your musiccollection on the Arc).

+1 for The lexar class 10. Very good !!! The best solution with The sandisk class 4.

btw, if anyone spots a good micro sd 16gb class 6 or higher please inform me.
I become a 16GB Class 2 Card but this card was wrong, the write speed is 3Mb/s, then I bought a new 16GB Class 10 Card. This card speed: 11.3/20.9 (write/read) the i am happy The maked HD video is better and the frame rate is really 30fps
UPDATE: The card worked much data disappeared from him then until 5 days. The next day the telephone did not see the card already though. F***ing noname card! Nobody let me not buy it trademarkless card!

Maximum size sd card with g2

Bought a 32 gb micro class 10 today and its acting really weird. Still have my 16gb and it works perfect.

I have 16GB Class 10 Joyflash (noname). Could you tell, why Class 10 "is not so good on desire z", becouse I dont understand this.
If card reader of desire is slow, on level of Class 6, if you put Class 10, doesnt change anything, but why "is not so good"?
I can safely say that my 32 GB class 6 has no issues. I've been reading on the subject and for some devices the class 10 is flaky... might just be a firware/software issue. Who knows.
But I'm ok with my class 6. Write: 9mb/s and read 24.3m/s
Ok so after everything last night I ended up keeping the kingston class 4 instead of the wintec class 10.
One thing that everyone should know if they are planning to upgrade soon and have forgotten this. The speed to write to a micro sd is slow then the speed to copy from a micro sd. This is my experience last night at least... I can copy a certain file to my desktop in 40 seconds but to put it on took 2-3 minutes.
Anyways, just be patient and go to a place you can get refunds so you dont get screwed with a bad card lol. With my experience the 32 gb class 10 wintec sucks, the write speed was insanely slow. So I stuck with a name brand instead, I really wanted a sandisk but they werent available.

Actually, my original Wintec card was screwing up and wouldn't keep the data partitions written. The replacement I got from Wintec is working the way it should, and it actually is acting like a class 10 card.

Class ratings refer only to write speed. And write speed is always going to be slower than read speed.

Thank You: I can confirm this.
I had to put a SD in my old DesireZ/Vision for one of my son (10 years... there's no religion....) to replace a old 4GB crashed one.
The phone is running SenseI ROM (fine ROM: a very good way to replace the stable CM7 and run ICS 4.0)
I bought on Amazon Samsung EVO uSD 16GB Class10... and it was not recognized... So I read it on the PC to see if is was good or not: it was OK!
Recovered the trouble upgrading the Galaxy S2 of the other son from a old 8GB class 4 (probably Kingston o Transcend) to the brand new 16GB EVO Class 10, and putting the old 8GBB in the Desire Z: quickly recognized and optimally mounted both cards over both the 2 phones!
But I was disappointed... more than speed performance I thought that Class 10 memory card were also better on quality, due to a more robust and stable architecture of the chips inside.... and
much more recommended for the "systemdisk-like" use on Android Smartphones!

Class 10 UHS-I cards on Desire?

I am thinking of getting SanDisk 16GB Mobile Ultra Class 10 UHS-I Micro SD SDHC like that one.
I know I will not reach 10 Class speed but I need to replace my current card and this is the only thing I found from SanDisk.
Can I expect it to perform flawlessly with HTC Desire?

I am using the same card as well, and it works perfectly. With full class 10 speeds as well.
I am using this as well... No problem at all... Getting much faster speed..
Thanks all. The reason I need to change my sd card is because right now I have a Samsung 8GB Class 6 which is fast enough in transfers but slow in initialisation and newer ICS/JB roms can't even detect it.
What rom are you using with this card?
has anybody noticed a performance increase while using a UHS-I card compared to class 10 or class 6.
Desire needs sd with high IO because of the low internal memory. Now the question, which cards have higher IO? Class 6 or 10 or UHS-I?
Im using a 16 gb uhs class 10 and no issues at all

"Mobile Ultra" is class 6 and "Ultra" is class 10. I don't know if there are any other differences apart from speed.
The link you gave is actually selling an "Ultra", although the title is "Mobile Ultra"
Note, I would never buy an SD card on ebay because of the number of fakes (especially Sandisk apparently)
You can get 16GB "Mobile Ultra" on Amazon for £11.45, ie same price as ebay.
Or a 32GB "Mobile Ultra" on Amazon for £22.99
Or a 32GB "Ultra" on Amazon for £18.54
No, I don't know why the class 10 is cheaper than the class 6. However... "class 6" just means that's the minimum guaranteed speed, it might be faster.
NB from what I've read, most class 10 cards don't work on the HTC Desire at all, but some do* However I've also read that internally the Desire can't read at more than 6mb/s whatever you put in there.
*People seem to have success with ADATA 16mb class 10, but someone else said their SanDisk 10 worked, whereas others say the same card didn't work. YMMV

BUT from what I've read, the HTC Desire will accept a class 10 card, but only has a class 6 transfer bus, so it can't use it any faster anyway.

Not quite right since all sandisk mobile ultra micro sd cards are UHS-1 class cards fastest cards faster than class 10.
They run at double the frequency in a UHS-1 compatible device.
Will still work in the desire just much slower. I get around class 10 speeds from my 8gb .mobile ultra

That's interesting. It would explain why they're more expensive than the class 10 cards. But if you look at this amazon page, it's listed as class 6, which is confusing.
All this talk about speed and class isn't worth much to any a2sd script.
Class system is about sequential speed I.e writing a large file and you'll get the class speed.
Writing loads of small files and I doubt you'll get your class speed.
Plus the apps on your ext4 partition could well be reading and writing from both you fat32 and ext4 partition on your SD card slowing the whole thing down.

I suppose the hope is that the higher the class the higher the random read/writes as well as sequential speeds.
But the random write performance measured on Tom's Hardware isn't encouraging (November 10, 2011 so not very current unfortunately, but maybe shows that a class 4 SanDisk isn't to be sneered at)
I was using SanDisk class 4 sd card with InsertCoin-1.1.4 Rom. After upgrading sd card to Kingston class 10, it's really improved the performance of the same Rom.
