Asphalt 5 - Epic 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Asphalt 5 is preloaded on our phones, but is it supposed to be a full version or a demo? Mine is only letting me play 5 minutes before it cuts off.

Damn, how can they tout a demo as a cool feature? LMAO.
Baby Girl is fine, appreciate your sympathy - terrible disease for some, but she is doing well with it compared to some kids we have seen at the Arthritis clinics. And thanks for the reminder to change stuff in my sig (just got my Epic yesterday)

Yeah and if you buy it from the pre-loaded demo, you'll have to rebuy it every time you flash your phone. Make sure to back it up and install in apps or delete it and reinstall from Market.

The game runs super smooth & it is only a demo.

And if you back up/restore your apps between ROMs, you're asking for trouble (as per Flipz). I'm just annoyed that I was SUPPOSED to get the full game, due to it being a prerelease employee device, and I lost out when I formatted my SD card. I even purchased it on my store's demo account, and lost out when I wiped the phone to put my personal Gmail on there. VERY annoyed, and I don't even like racing games.

Gameloft demos

http://www.gameloft.com/android/
Anyone actually managed to download one yet...
I keep trying with Dungeon hunter it installs then you open it and it tells you to download more and then it just sits for ages doing nothing, sometimes the download bar gets to about 20%, sometimes not at all...
What am I doing wrong
Downloaded Modern Combat last night - told me it was transferring 108mb (wow) over wifi, so understandably it did take a while. Seemed like it had stalled a few times, but just stick with it.
tried it five times since 6am this morning, I know I am an early type...
Now its been sat for an hour doing nothing, is this correct
I played Dungeon Hunter, Modern Combat, Hero of Sparta, Assasins Creed...there are incredibile!!!
It is an amazing 3d experience.
I trully recomend Dungeon Hunter and Assasins Creed
I bought NOVA. Very nice Shooter Game. Great graphics. Has about 75MB when downloading the content. But it´s worth!! And the Best is: i´ve got it from Gameloft only for 3 € instead for 5 €, but it was advertised for 5.
Would be great to see some demos to download, but i think gameloft never made any demo.
Edit: Now i went to Gamelofts site again, and now they really have Demos from the games there. Nice. Will test some others.
glad everyone else can download them...must be my grap galaxy
The games work perfect on my Galaxy S.
thuduk give me Pm with your Yahoo messenger id and i will semd you link to get the games for free
I really don't want to steal there games, all piracy in this situation will do is, make gameloft not develop games for us android users, this I think is why a lot of game developers don't bother with android, if they can't make anything on them, why bother.
Going to soft reset and try again, perhaps with another game.

Stealing is not good, indeed but...
I buy more from Gameloft site and i tell you...the support was awful...i didnt get any refunds for all the games that i bought and didnt work..i dont know why they act like these with their clients.
So...if we can find the gamez free on the web, why bogther paying for a game that doesnt work ?
Cheers.

So you mean if i buy a new car and i hit a wall with it, i can go on the street and look for a similar car and "steal" it? Because if they ar free on the road....
Sorry but you cannot think this way. All the Gameloft games work very well.
The problem is just that it´s difficult to download them. Maybe it´s a problem of the Servers?!
I try to download a demo too right now over W-Lan and it has stopped since 4 Minutes to download. But this is no reason to share there games here. I´ve bought Nova yesterday and i hadn´t any problem to download and install it. Works very nice!
So if theres a problem with the downloading of demos they soon will notice it and i guess they will fix it.
No...u dont need to steal the care because the car is faulty by your mistake.
It is not my fault that i tried 5-6 times to download game and didnt work. How come problems with servers ? How come they not have problems with servers when they take your money ?
Anyway...we have different point of views...i dont like to support pirateria but ...sometimes u have to work with it.
Besides, i didt share anything here
Just this minute managed to download the demo of Dungeon Hunter, taken me all morning.
Assasins creed took only a few minutes, strange, must be server problems...
Testing them now, wow these amazing...love Dungeon Hunter just like Diablo, gosh didn't realise the Galaxy S was this good

WP7 and your Apps

Can someone tell me why you cannot organize and even more important, have actual copies of your apps locally (on your home computer)?
I unfortunately own the lemon known as the Dell Venue Pro. I am now on my third one. And inbetween each return for defective items (the phone sucks in basic terms), an app in which I PURCHASED was removed from the marketplace (once by Microsoft and once by the developer). When the first phone went back, the Xbox Live game 'something' Blade (I forget the title of the side way shooter starring the psycho nun and the zombies) was removed from the marketplace. I had purchased it days before the unit crashed and was barely able to use it. While I was waiting for the new phone, the game was taken of the marketplace. Once I got the working phone, there was no way to reinstall or retrieve the app, since you are not allowed to own a copy locally. Microsoft had pulled the app due to content (game was not inappropriate at all compared to some of the others).
The second time I recieved a new phone was Thursday and the defective phone went back immediately. When I went to reinstall my apps (had to make a list of what I bought because I am not allowed to have them LOCALLY), to my suprise the developer of Doodle God removed it, to my best guess because they came out with almost the same game in Doodle Devil. So after pulling the game I contacted the developer and they pretty much told me that Doodle Devil is almost the same game and I could purchase that. What kind of crap is this?
So can someone explain why in all hell we are not allowed to locally organize and even more important OWN any of the apps we purchase. Essentially Doodle Devil seems to be an addon at best. So anytime a company wants to boost their sales of addons, all they have to do is delete their original app that many bought, and hope that if those original customers have since deleted them from their phone and will have to repurchase the "new version" if they want to use it again? This is ridiculous.

I feel for ya. That sounds very crappy...and a way MS seems to do business, as well. If the dev told you to buy the new version of the game you bought because of them deleting the old version, I would file suit with someone or demand they compensate me. My mouth would not cease till they resolved it. Fortunately I haven't purchased Doodle God or Doodle Devil. And I won't now.

GTA III for our T989!

I was able to buy and install GTA III but I receive the following error when attempting to download the additional files.
"Data download authorization error. is the time on your device set correctly?"
Am I the only one seeing this?
Downloaded and installed fine for me. I have been playing it all morning... many many memories
GTA III for our phone!
Edit: After buying it on the web store, I can't install it to my device. Seems the web market messed up on compatibility.
Rockstar said at 1st it would only work on tegra devices. I checked the market today and there's a version for our phones now as well.
GTAIII SGS2
I was a bit disappointed that we weren't getting it as I beat this game on the pc years ago. Now I can replay it on a portable thanks to rockstar games.. If you haven't played this game before, I would recommend you try it. It's what made gta what it is today.
Now if we can only get some gta2 or the london missions.
nice find
but not a big fan of GTA games myself
i used to like them way back then, but now i find them boring...
but it's still fun for those stressful days, when you simply want to blow some steam

Sorry for my newbiness but when you go to that link, how come it shows 3 different versions?
GTA III
GTA 3
and Grand Theft Auto 3?
And they all have different # of reviews?
i was pondering the same thing as well
probably for different phones?

I'm getting this same error message on my transformer. I've tried dowloading on two different wifi connections with "use network time" on and off to no avail. My time is correct, yet it keeps giving me that message.
Havent played any gta for a long time. This is awesome!
Plays great and controls are good. Great framerate but the resolution is a little low, although understandable as theres a lot of different hardware for android.

maybe your date is wrong?
im getting error bcoz my date and time were wrong
but when i corrected it, the error is gone and download started
Use network settings
Hey, I had the same problem on my Acer Iconia 10 inch tablet. At first I thought it's the crappy wi-fi, then I just set date and time to network settings in the tablet's menu and - even though the time was wrong by 7 hours, it worked. the problem is that many wi-fi networks don't have the proper time set on them (the one I used is Time Warner in NY), so the downloader gets some error. you can set your time back after you're done downloading.

My phone now belongs to the State of Massachussets

So yeah, I did it again, I've lost my phone. Please flame me.
The other day I was at concert in Turin (Dropkick Murphys, wohoo), and probably due to the fact that I was right in front of the stage, drunk like hell and dancing like a fool for a couple hours I've lost my phone in the middle of the crazy-jumping-punching crowd. No chance, I couldn't find it anywhere after the show, and looking for it while it was still going would have been like looking for a quick but painful death, it must have been totally destroyed after a few seconds anyway. So when I got home I called my carrier and blocked my number, then (smart as hell) I tried tracking/blocking my phone on windowsphone.com, but that didn't work. Yesterday I went to the police station so that I was able to report the fact in order to be able to get a new sim-card with my old number from my carrier. That's it, now I'm still pissed but I can handle it.
Anyway, here are some (probably pretty lame) questions. Now I got my phone blocked via IMEI and I have my number, so that's quite fine, but what about the data I had on my phone? In particular, what about the apps I bought and stuff like that? In the coming weeks I'm getting paid for a random work I did so I'll be definitely getting another WP7 device, but I still don't know much about this platform so I don't know how this works. On Android when I switched phone I had all my apps, contacts and stuff linked to my Google account and I've never lost a thing, how does that work here exactly?
Sorry for the dumb questions...

If you go to my phone on windowsphone.com - and your account you will have the list of apps you installed. It might look a little painful process as not all apps and settings are going to restored by a single click. Settings - manually. Apps - one by one. Also if you had any unlocks they are gone! So all those side loading apps, won't be there. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! But see the positive - it looks like you had a good night

Thanks for the tips, I feel better already. Too bad for sideloaded apps, but that was something I expected. I only had the basic windowbreak unlock so that's not too bad. The only thing that really bothers me is that I wasn't in the mood for an upgrade at all right now, the phone worked fine and the day I've lost it I had just received my brand new case...I was already saving money for some superphone releasing in Q4. Oh well, I guess this is what you get for being a reckless fool...you're right tho, that was some real fun

Nice thing about LG is that it has a registry editor built in, so it is easy to dev unlock yourself.
Plus you can do any other tweaks, such as real instant resume and fix the blue tooth audio for video issue.
Real instant resume keeps the app in actual memory, so when you go back to it, it does not need to rehydrate. Negative of course, is that you need to make sure to back out of apps that you don't want consuming your memory.

HD 8.9 - Is it worth Rooting & Installing Custom ROM?

I know that question may seem inane at first but the elaboration is, it seems Amazon did some things to make this hard to customize like we love to do and its much riskier than say doing a Galaxy 4 phone. For some of us who just wanna play games on them and the remedial stuff, where we can still get the Google Playstore through secondary channels, why are some of you rooting and messing with it... from what I'v heard, the stock Amazon is pretty "clean" and also having access to their stock software to integrate with your Amazon account to download from their site seems like an advantage. I.e., if you really wanted a PURE Android tab, why not just get like a Lenovo, Acer, Samsung and root that... I am getting the HD 8.9 because its on sale for $180 in hand, and the display seems superior to almost any tab in its price range and class.
Thanks for any illuminating responses.
Having owned one for a year.
No. It gets slower with a custom rom. You're better off getting a Nexus.
I've used it stock, stock+root+Gapps, CM11, LiquidROM, PacmanROM currently.
Now that amazon offers its instant video with the android app, its even better off to go w/ a nexus. You just have to get it to use the Phone version of the app, not the tablet version. (which I did with the current pacman rom.) So, IMO there is no longer any benefit of the HD8.9 over faster/lighter tablets. I am strongly considering putting mine back to stock, and when a trade-in deal comes around trade it in for a Nexus tablet.

Thanks for the reply... they used to allow a second hand install of google play but even that doesnt work now and it seems they are forcing a root as the only way to get google play on it, sigh. I guess I will sell the stupid things as used and look for a deal on the nexus or samsung/lenovo/asus.... what a crock. I got it for $180 total which I thought was a decent deal brand new...
What trade in is available for this?
Sometimes stores like Best Buy will accept trade-ins. You'll definately not get the 180$ spent. But it'll ease the purchase price of something else.

I have the 8.9 rooted and running cm11 with no complaints. I enjoy the freedom of running full Android over the Amazon os. There are really only 2 apps that i havent been able to fully use. One was screen capture software, its always choppy or poor quality. Thats because the hardware isnt enough to run it properly, not an os problem. The other is the new Madden Football game, its very laggy. Again hardware problem, not the os. If the 8.9 is enough for you and Google play is the only thing holding you back, root it and install cm11. Get greenify and it will turn off apps for you keeping it running smooth. There is also an app called lagfix that cleans up the file system. Running lagfix once a month or so seems to keep it clean. In short go for it, if you don't like it flash it back Amazon os and unroot then trade it in.

Oh really? I thought these Kindles were very particular in what they "took." I use CM for my Galaxy S4 and very satisfied with it so I have no problem trying it. I dont play Madden so thats fine (I was a big 2K fan LOL). I am really only looking to play Clash of Clans and some other remedial stuff, nothing too taxing. I guess I'll try that then since I think for the $$$ this screen is boss and the size is just about right too.
One thing, is the screen pretty responsive with CM in it? And is it ok if I ask a followup or two in case something goes out of sorts per your experience?
I play clash on mine all the time. I didn't say it was easy getting CM11 on my Kindle. It's a bit more work that rooting a Samsung phone but there are some good tutorials here on XDA, I used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2128175. Follow it exactly and you will have no problem. The screen is responsive and works great for everyday use, books, and games like clash. Videos look great too. Feel free to ask me more

I went back to stock because all the custom roms were too slow. Found this on the hdx forum though, pretty much all google apps working without root! Just need one quick adb command and all done... http://forum.xda-developers.com/kindle-fire-hdx/themes-apps/how-to-install-gapps-root-t2954372
Play store wont work, but you can always sideload apps. So far have google+, youtube, maps and newsstand all working without a hitch. Works fine with my chromecast too.
