Nexus one to stock (able to update with OTA) - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hai..
My First Post
I bought a nexus one from my friend.. It was rooted(boot loader unlocked).. Lately new update for android 2.2.1 was pushed and it failed at verifying signature..
I kinda like OTA update. Is there anyway i could go back to some firmware where i could get OTA.. If that's possible could anyone guide me through..
1) I flashed the firmware to 2.1(stock as said in the site) and tried to update to 2.2 then the update failed at assertion error
2) then i flashed to 2.2 stock(non rooted).. Then i got this verification error..
I flashed it using the easy methord downloading the zip to sd card->Recover->zip from sd card..

[Q] Flash OTA update using Recovery

As this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1043541
I would like to go back Stock and get OTA updates. My problem is I can't use the unrooting tutorial on the G2/Z wiki as it require to flash a stock Rom and the only available stock ROM for my carrier is too old to get the OTA update (1.34.666.1 and OTA is looking for 1.34.666.5)
TheSPam gave me is nandroid backup so now I have the 1.34.666.5 Version but I'm still rooted. I'm trying to get back 100% stock.
When I'm trying to do the OTA update, after rebooting to flash the update clockworkmod recovery interfere and the OTA update Fail.
I've tried renaming the Update to update.zip, put this on the root of my sdcard and get clockworkmod to install the update from sdcard but I get an error like getprop CID and the update fail.
how can I get back to 100% Stock, unrooted and be able to get the OTA update?

What makes you think opening a new tread is going to solve your issue http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1043541 quicker?
Absolutely nothing. I started a new thread because the issue in the original post is resolved and i'm facing a complete new problem. Because the initial issue was very specific to my carrier I tough starting a new thread for the new issue may get more answers cause its more generic.
It is that bad?
OK Short Update,
I've been able to install the OTA Update using Recovery. I got the update notification then downloaded the update. I opened the zip file and modified the updater-script to bypass CID check adding || 1 == 1 (So the CID check will always return true then I click ok on the System Update notification.
Phone rebooted and in recovery I selected install ZIP from sdcard. Pointed to the OTA update and everything went fine.
So I'm unrooted now but i'm still S-Off and because I installed the OTA update over a rooted nandroid backup, SuperUser is still in the rom and I can't delete it.
I'm still not able to return the phone for repair and still don't know what to do.
And the last problem, Wifi doesn't work anyore on my phone. It says wifi error and I can't get the mac Adress on Info about your phone, nor the bluetooth address.
Any solution?
Any news about that? I'm still stuck with stock rom but no wifi and bluetooth and can not delete superuser from apps drawer. Thanks
You cannot delete superuser as its embedded in your ROM. Superuser doesn't magically appear when you get root, its put on ROMs for your use or put on during the root process for certain devices.
Now anyways, onto your predicament. You should search your vendors website for an update RUU (eg. vodafone website) or in the android development section. Once you find one to your liking you just follow the Vision Wiki guide to unrooting. There really is no easier way to remove all the aspects of a root without following those steps. Ultimately following that guide will help you restore your Desire Z/G2 to a normal one with no superuser, superCID or secu-flag unlock.
Just a side note, it will be rather difficult for you to obtain a stock ROM from any other user because since they don't have root access or clockworkmod they can't make you a backup of their 1.72 based ROMs.

help with s3, toolkit and cmw

I have s-3 used the tool kit for sprint, flashed rom and root busy box and cmw touch, im getting an ota and yes it will not update due to cmw , says failed to verify bla bla, the cmw goes to install an unsucure.zip, and will let me do it, my question is, is that zip the ota or is that a zip on my phone? where would the ota download to? if this is not the ota can i flash new ota with cmw or do i have to unroot and go back to stock recovery to get this ota, would this ota be the one that is here in forums from 5-2012? or has anything been released since 5-2012? [Q] Help: JellyBean Update Failed

Good day. I am trying to update my HOX with official JellyBean via OTA. My CID is HTC_044. I received an update prompt and download a small file. It rebooted my phone and then nothing happened. An hour had passed? What am I doing wrong? I am on stock Rom by the way
You need stock recovery.
You need an unmodified stock ROM. Are you sure you didn't modify it somehow like removing an app or updating a system app?
AFAIK the jb update consists of a small preparatory file which is then followed by the main update.
I guess what you downloaded is that first smaller file. The actual update should pop up eventually.

CN ota file .183

Can someone with the CN firmware post the latest ota update .183 located under the cashe/ folder on main storage.
I tried to install via online update but for some reason it failed and now I don't get the update anymore.
I'm not using stock ROM... But I think, there is problem with OTA(.183) update...
Because some users facing the problem while doing update...
for example...
1. http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/help/help-problem-ota-update-t3370025
2. http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/help/flashed-rom-zenfone-2-ze551ml-didnt-t3369395
3. http://forum.xda-developers.com/zenfone2/help/zenfone-2-failed-update-flash-stock-t3369786
is there anyone who successfully updated to 183 build...??
I had an old recovery and I got a message saying "cannot update, your recovery xxx.xx..20" and it was true because I had twrp recovery and before the update I flashed the .20 official recovery that I had in my SD card and I thought that this was the problem, then I dirty flashed the latest CN firmware .159 from Asus that includes the updated recovery but ever since I flashed the latest recovery I never got the update notification again.
So I figured that since I don't get the update notification anymore if I had the CN ota file I could manually flash it.

BOG5 update error

I thought I was rooted and unlocked but lost it on reboot. However, I am on BOG5. I'm trying to update to 5.1.1 but I get an error message of "error 7 error installing zip file '/sdcard/update.zip'
The zip I'm using is the safe upgrade BOG5 to PA1. Am I missing something dumb?
Any help would be appreciated!
edit--Looks like the file can only be flashed in twrp which I have now lost.
Stupid easy fix--flashed full firmware and pit--duh!
