android wont boot - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Android Development

hi there i got the new [9/28 build] for htc touch pro2. i installed 2 times right now because when i want to boot it...it says andboot/ doesnt exist.
i got riddin of all the android files before i installed it.
btw cant find the default of start file...
greetings

double check where your haret.exe is

Also, don't use the startup utility. I've found it's still not right... a few times it corrupted my startup.txt, and the update portion is still very broken.

screenshot
or maybe its the system.ext2 that i have to rename?
look i dont have it..in the attachment

you rename the "startup.txt" to "default text". so when it gets to that haret screen, just press run and itll work.
you mite have to do it after a fresh install if your startup.txt if its size is at a 0.

am i a noob
mmm k but like ive shown on the attachment screenshot...i dont have a "startup.txt" i got system.ext2 file
cheers

That's you're problem then. You need a startup.txt... it kinda tells haret where everything is & how to set the system up basically...
There should be a STARTUPS folder. Grab the startup for your device, put it where you run haret from.

I've seen your magical screenshot dude. I can't really see if that's the root of the SD or what, so that's why I mentioned a STARTUPS folder. Babijoee's builds used to have 'em, I think reef removed it so it wouldn't confuse people... You can reuse an old startup, just make sure that it's setup correctly. If it's not, it could cause issues. Which is why you may want to start over, why the heck do you not have a startup.txt?!?

theres no STARTUP file nor STARTUP folder in the root thats why ive shown the andboot/ ... ye there was a STARTUP file before i installed this build...
what kinda setup information should i put i got this one from the old

So you didn't want to go with a clean new build huh...? It looks OK, you've got the force_cdma command in there 2x for some reason... but I assume since they're both set to 0 that'll be fine. Make sure physkeyboard is set correctly. Other than that, it looks OK.

That may be your problem.
Just start completely over at square one. Format your SD and start with a clean new build - don't reuse anything. Something's obviously been buggered, and this is just a much easier method to fix it than actually trying to troubleshoot what you broke

Listen to arrrghhh, dude. Like he said you've obviously fudged it somewhere. Just uninstall it, delete all folders and start over from scratch. Maybe you should hard reset your device back to factory standards also. This might solve all you whoas

Don't use the cab bro... make it unnecessarily complicated IMHO. Plus, it's slow and fosters ignorance!!

ok which one should i download?? can you give me the link 2 download the framework for my device before ill destroy it
btw i downloaded the [10/4] update now i got 2 of those apps which i cant open
dont know why it created 2 android after the update cab.

Well you can try to use the cab, but you seem to be having issues with it. So just download the rar... it's in the same location as the cab dude. Reef's site offers both the cab and rar installers on the same page..

X2 Tilewave Daylight Savings Fix

Hi.
I made a quick and crude patch to the TilewavePanel.dll file to cruedly but effectively correct the Daylight savings problem that I and lots of others were having.
----------
To use this...
1. Download THIS - TilewavePanel.dll which is 920KB in size... or use the 355KB ZIP file attached to this post.
2. Copy the new TilewavePanel.dll file to My Device\Program Files\Panels\TilewavePanel. Replacing the original.
-----> You may need to rename the old file first as it is "in use" but it still lets you rename it.
-----> If you are using the basic File Explorer built in to Windows Mobile then you may need to go to the Menu and check Show all Files before the dll files become visible.
3. Go to the Registry using Resco or PHM... Navigate to, HKLM\Software\SonyEricsson\TilewavePanel\City\0, edit the DaylightSaving key and change it to 0.
3. Do a soft reset.
-----> If the time is still 1 hour fast, then go back to the registry and check that the DaylightSaving key is still set to 0.
----------
What this does is... Whenever the Tilewave Panel weather gets updated, instead of overwriting the DaylightSaving key in the registry it writes to a different key DaylighSavinX. But the Daylight Savings time is still read from the original key. So you can change it to 0 without it being overwritten.
Hope this is useful!
Wow, another potential person in XDA
thanks!!
after installing patched DLL panel manager hangs...
panel is not workin after copy .dll file bro
what happen??
Excellent, thanks allot for your updated dll file. It solved my problem with the wrong time and can now have the weather updated automatically
It freezes after a reset?
The patch is tested will all jerpelea's first 5 test ROM.
------------
EDIT: Just tested as working on Jerpelea's 6th test ROM too.

working very well
i like the way you thinking, making the weather update false string and system still reading the original key XD
thanks!!
Now it works with the same time as on wm 6.5 thanks alot!!!
Works just fine. Cheers mate.
Very good work, mate.
Just like everything in coding, very simple fix. If I knew how to amend .dll files, I would have tried to make it not write to a key at all, and completely remove that line of code.
Thanks for this, makes the panel so much better!
Does not work for me :-(

Agreed. I can't get this fix to work either. It works until automatic update and reverts back to being one hour ahead.

Sounds like you are not actually replacing the original dll file correctly. As the patch works just fine.
Go to My Device\Program Files\Panels\TilewavePanel.
Make sure Show all Files is checked on the menu. Then rename the TilewavePanel file that is 918K in size to "Old" or "Backup" or something like that.
Then Copy the patched TilewavePanel file from your Storage Card or using ActiveSync to My Device\Program Files\Panels\TilewavePanel.
Soft-Reset the device.
Go to the Registry and Set DaylightSaving to 0.
-------
You can confirm if the patch is installed by... First updating the weather on the Tilewave. Then, going to HKLM\Software\SonyEricsson\TilewavePanel\City\0 in the registry. There should be a new DWord value called "DaylightSavinX". If that key isn't there, it is not installed.

I'm sorry but my ignorance is frustrating me.
First download link is bad. Zip file can't be downloaded to device with IE because it opens straight to Total Commander and won't extract.
Opera 10 Beta keeps hanging up and I can't get it that way either.
Downloaded to PC, extracted dll and emailed it to my account.
Accessed with device and followed instructions. Still not working for me.
Extracted dll is 918.7kb just as original.
Can you possibly enlighten me?
After Hardrest my device it works - only the Mail-Button has no functionality right now.
very very good. thanks, now the panel is useful
Thank you. I love you, mon.
Simply changing the daylight saving time from 1 to 0 or vise versa wortked for me - did not need to change dll.

got stuck installing Andoird

hi all,
I'm actually trying many times to install Andoird on my Touch Pro. but I just got stuck whenever I run Haret then it freezes.
I try to read through many posts here but it seems there's no similar situation. and I even did exact same thing like the Youtube Tutorial did. But I still got it failed.
Mine is:

OS Version: 5.2.23016

Could anyone help me please?? thanks a million.

What does your startup.txt say?
I've got a 110 and I had to enter the following lines at the beginning of it:
set ramsize 0x10000000
set ramaddr 0x10000000

+1, post your startup.txt if adding those lines don't fix it. There was an issue with the latest startup's, missing those lines across the board as far as I'm aware. I just reverted to an old startup.txt.

Hello.
I have a problem when i install android on my htc touch pro.
I manage to install it but when to start it he remains at the wellcome movie.
What i need to do ? I've used search on this forum but didn't find any answer or question on this.
Thanks
Try blasting out your data.img and booting again.
If this doesn't work, run a build from 3.31 or older, and drop your data.img from that build in to the folder for the new build.

The 110 that's the one with the blue keys on the keyboard right?
Do you know what the rest of the start up code is? I've been searching and the only one i've found is the one posted above.
Try using the CAB installer mentioned in the original post. Had simular issues installing on my WM 6.5 modded ATT Fuze. CAB version works everytime.
Time
How long should it take to install android?
How long to install...? It's just copying files to your SD card so a few minutes maybe?
Now how long to boot is another story. If you're getting a boot loop, try updating your rootfs. If that doesn't help, delete your data.img and try haret.exe. If you're still stuck, post back here what is hanging you up.
I am stuck at the set up. It is as though my screen does not work. It keeps saying to touch droid to begin and everytime I try to touch it it goes into emergency call or language (the two bottom options). What should I do?
Sounds like you have a bad calibration. Delete the ts-calibration file at the root of SD (or wherever you launch haret.exe from) and try to boot again. Watch the boot process! There's a calibration section that if you don't do it, the touchscreen won't work properly.

[Q] Can't overclock?

Anytime I try to put the acpuclock.oc_freq_khz=672400 command line in my startup.txt I get an error message along the lines of "acpuclock is not a recognized command" or something similar. Haret still runs and Android still boots but the phone is still locked at the default clock speed.
Any ideas? I'm running FRX07 with the latest zImage and whatever rootfs came with FRX07.

But nothing happens, no sound at all. I even tried doing the whole process from scratch, including the script part. Any thoughts on this?

How to change bootanimation runnig stock.

Hi, I am currently using stock JB with a couple of mods/extras i managed to link in via the kitchen. But frustratingly so I cannot change the boot image and are hoping with appreciation someone in here can direct me. So far I have tried everything I am capable of. That is from within the kitchen enabling the function which is suppose to allow you to change your boot animation. Although it gives you the tick and creates a different directory for your boot animation this still doesn't work. I have tried replacing hTC_boot_one.zip file but does not work. Whenever i do replace or alter that file the boot starts as normal with white htc and then goes to black with android with a back light rolling from side to side, like kit in night rider. I also have tried flashing Mattmans-Boot-Animation which uses aroma installer. Still didnt work and as far as I know it just added the file in system/customize/resource/. There appears to be a command file preventing any changes internally in stock. Really appreciate and hope someone can help. Thanks in advance......happy new years.....:good:

Have you mounted system as rw? In root explorer you just press the button, not sure on other apps, and have you set the right permissions? rw-r--r-- to match everything else in system/customize/resource.

If system is mounted as ro (read only) you can't change anything in the folder, this is the default setting I think and it needs to be mounted as rw to allow changes.
You could try to rename something in the system directory and if it doesn't actually change then you need to change it, or check if the filesize of the boot animation you replace changes.
Like I said, rootexplorer app changes it with a tap of the button, not sure what else to use

Thanks again. No problem renaming any file within system so I guess it is mounted as rw. As to file size, i have tried different file sizes and identical file sizes to the hTC_boot_one.zip file. I have even tried using the same Zip file and just replacing with different images. Making sure to end up with the same values. Nothing seems to work.
Strange, I had rooted stock Rom and it worked fine, maybe you have the wrong format of files or haven't zipped as store only, no compression. I assume it is a sense one x Rom?
Maybe try this one I made for the Rom I use
