If you are talking about the grid where you put in a certain pattern to unlock the phone we have that, its just not activated by default. Its under settings>security....not sure the exxact pathway but its there

I don't know how to port it but you can find it here at xda in the fascinate themes and apps section under the thread called (MOD) stock lockscreen and the file is enable_glass_lock. Also the captivate keyboard is there in update.zip format. Hope this helps someone maybe get the lockscreen ported over.

Any word on this, or something similar? I have a Captivate, and after raving so much about how great it is, my boyfriend just got the Epic.
It's a great phone, but the lockscreen is very annoying. Does anyone know of a lockscreen replacement where you can swype in any direction like the Captivate, even if it doesn't have the puzzle aspect? I have found a couple of replacement locksreens, but they all seem to be iPhone style, slide to the side.

U can do stock android or sense lockscreens with widget locker.

I've tried a few times to no-avail. It seems while the remnants of the code are there, the full code is not. I'll look more into it after Official 2.2 releases. Until then, it would be quite pointless considering it would have to be redone for the 2.2 release.

its certainly possible to do it...you have to add the images to the frameworks and mod 2 jars i believe...we have 5 lockscreens on the fascinate courtesy of sbrissen...so it just takes some tinkering

basically someone would have to diff the fascinate lockscreen mod and then integrate it in...not easy certainly...but your community is pretty large and has a lotta smart people in it

Hello fellow forum buddies. I have a Samsung Epic 4G that is currently rooted on Stock DI18. I tend to switch back and forth to the DK28 leak and flash roms quite often when I get bored or what not lol. I have a gift card left over from the holidays with $3.41 left on it (just a regular visa gift card). Since I'm probably never going to use $3.41 at any store or restaurant I thought hey I could use it on the Android Market. I have most of the paid apps for my rooted device that are a must have except widget locker (still debating). Wonder if there is any other good - great apps out there that are a must have for this phone. I also have ADW Launcher EX and Launcher Pro Plus. Just thought I'd throw this question out there to see what I could find. I appreciate everyone in this forum and what you do that help me and others learn about this phone and other phones. On a side note I found out today that my wife and I are having a little baby girl!!! Thanks for all your help.

Thanks man and yes I know they don't stay little for long lol. I either need to hit the gym or buy a gun for when she starts bringing boys over lol. Yeah I have root explorer and that is probably my favorite app I have that I bought. Do you have widget locker and if so is it worth it?
If you ever find your self with ****ty reception I recommend roam control. This allows you to force your phone to roam.

Roam Control will definitely be on the list for the future. Don't plan to go anywhere that I don't already have service in right now. I do have a quick question though to you or to anyone for that matter. An AOSP lockscreen for Rooted Stock DI18. Anyone have the link. I won't be able to search. My turn to make dinner but that's what XDA email notifications are for lol. Thanks.

Yeah I flashed it through clockwork and it did nothing lol. No worries I'll find one or figure out how to make one lol. I've got nothing but time on my hands right now. Thanks though I appreciate the feedback.

I knew that. I'm not sure what I was thinking. Do you know of another lockscreen besides this ghey a** Samsung one. I used to like it but now I miss the old school like my Moment had.

i know this has been discussed and there's probably a logical reason why we have not managed to get this to work yet on our epics ,still ill give it a mention. ive been digging into themeing a little and noticed deep with in our own
framework/framework-res/drawable-hdpi we have what appears to be that lock screen. (as well as the rotary one) also i noticed that in "schnowdapowda 's Erebos!" port, that within his ported theme , in settings/display/unlock screen it lists it as an option ...however it dose not work. now im hoping that someone with more knowledge of framework can answer my questions, is it possible to somewhere with in, "turn it on"?

Yeah I was playing around with it today too. I couldn't get that to work either but mobile ap worked really well. Surprising what things are as simple as installing an .apk and what is framework-deep.

The Erebos theme Settings.apk is from the I9000 I believe. That's why it has this extra option for Unlock Screen.

These Roms are basically all WIP. They are for any dev that wants to take them over. Im switching to the sgsII and trading my ns4g.. which means I can not work on these

Nice! I liked how you thought outside the box here. It will be nice if you bring some of your ideas/projects from here over there. The stock ROM has been tweaked in almost every possible way. Getting a Sense port or something really different on that big screen would be nice!

You guys really want TouchWiz? It's terrible. I have an Epic and all we try to do is get rid of it. I guess TouchWiz 4 is ok though.

I have the epic touch and am using my nexus until they can get ics on it touch whiz isn't that bad but its bad enough for me not to want to use the best phone on sprint. Plus I got my galaxy nexus so that's holding me over for the mean time

Many (myself included) felt the same way about Sense. I HATED Sense with a passion when I had my Evo, but some people actually wanted it ported over to the nexus.
It's bizarre... those that have a bloated mess of a launcher/fork want vanilla or themed aosp - and nexus owners with vanilla aosp want the bloated Sense mess.

I personally just wanted something other than stock vanilla, miui, tweaked stock vanilla, cm7 vanilla, themed stock vanilla etc.. so I went for random things that maybe not everyone wanted really bad, like the droid razr port or sense 3.5.
I started to hate aosp on my nexus, it was the worst thing and i would have rather flashed froyo sense..

Added my updated one to the op.
Touchwiz on the Epic Touch is nothing like it was on the Epic. It is blazing fast and smooth. If I could change the icons, I would never use a 3rd party launcher but ADW EX has me hooked right now

You mean, port the Galaxy Note touchwiz over to the Epic Touch? To my knowledge, it hasn't been done. I can only see a couple of features that its build has that the ET4G doesn't, mainly the stylus notes feature. It's got a little different method to take a screenshot than we do (however, I like ours better). Can you clarify what you'd like to see from the note in the ET4G?

you will never be able to use that kind of stylus on the et4g... it has a wacom sensor for it built in. aka like fm radio. we dont have the tech in the device to do it.

you want someone to port a touchwiz rom to a device that already runs touchwiz? wtf am i reading?
I mean don't get me wrong some of the features it has would be nice even though we could never use the stylus. BUT since we have ICS now, until the Galaxy Note gets the ICS update, I don't see any of it's features being ported.
It has nothing we don't have. Besides a different lockscreen, new messages app, a few icon changes ,n of course pen memo which would be useless for us who don't have a stylist.. probly tweaked system settings for tw 4.0;

Your first and second sentences contradict each other...
As it was stated just before me, a lot of Devs are jumping on the ICS bandwagon. Although I love some of the tricks you can do with that S Pen, without a stylus its hard to imagine what functionality that would add to a phone that already does everything. I understand where you're coming from OP, but you might have to just do like me and get the Galaxy Journal when it launches soon.

Someone can most likely add on screen menu buttons. As far as icons and widgets, you may be able to find close substitutes

I'm pretty new but how does this bounty system work? I would gladly set aside money for someone to port certain things or add certain features. I'm not keen on this lockscreen but if this is common practice, I would like to get involved.

Agreed. Im fine with the jellybean lockscreen.
Galaxy S3 dandelion LWP in the Play Store works pretty nice and has the ripple touch effect.
There's also an app from the same developer called Water Drop LWP that let's you use your own pictures with the ripple effect.
I liked the whole idea back on the final releases of GB/Cyano where you are able to tap on any part of the screen and choose the options. JB Lockscreen is fine but I dont like it to be tied down to the bottom area only, maybe the S3 lockscreen appeals to me only because you can unlock from any portion of the screen, and that sexy water ripple perhaps One thing is for sure, you don't need no damned Quad core to get that. But what I would love, would be that sexy MyWater.apk from Asus Transformer. That LWP was the BOMB! But doesn't work on JB, sad.
