[Q] [TIP] button mapping for emulaters - G2 and Desire Z Themes and Apps

Hey guys just got my g2 and love it. I'm trying to find the best way to map the buttons on our keyboards for emulators and wanted to see how you guys do it. Im trying to play street fighter 2 on snesdroid and cant bust a move lol

I have, its GREAT!
Just tweak it to your liking but I have
w = up
a = left
s = right
x = down
J,k,l and O as my actions keys.

For my directionals I use
E=up
X=down
S=left
D=right
W=up/left diagonal
Z=down/left diagonal
R=up/right diagonal
X=down/right diagonal
Psx action buttons o=triangle l=circle k=square ?=x
Works great for my marvel vs capcom because for certain moves you gotta slide your fingers down,down/right diagonal,right and this setup works perfectly works GREAT on street fighter also
Sent from my T-Mobile G2

i use the following
w = up
a = left
s = right
z = down
k l m and ? are the 4 main buttons, o and op are the L and R triggers depending on the system. enter is start and delete is select.
Right alt is load state, left alt is save state, space is trigger fast forward.
I also have my wiimote for NES/GB/Some GBA. And classic controller for SNES and some GBA games. I play more in depth games like secret of mana and crap like that at home so I dont need to carry the controllers around with me.

He's most likely talking about the Wii Classice controller. But if u want an easier solution, google bluetooth snes controller. Its a mod but should make you feel at home with snes and younger games. Imo.

Same here.
For keyboard controls i use:
up=W
down=Z
right = S
left = A
select = Space Bar
start = .
a = L
b = K
x = P
y = O
left trigger = I
right trigger = J
This I used pretty much as my default setup for all my emulators when using the keyboard.
I was wondering this too. The keyboard sucks for gaming, but I noticed you can use a wii classic controller with an app from the market. Does this seem to work pretty well?

Worked really well for me. I didnt notice any lag.
wii classic controler kicks ass. That and the kick stand case i am getting should be cool as ****
up=W
down=Z
right = S
left = A
select = Del
start = enter
a = P
b = L
x = O
y = K
left trigger = Z
right trigger = M
basically took me a while to get used to these controls on the tiny keyboard. overall works fine for me.

This might seem like a stupid question, but how does the wii remote connect to the phone? I know you plug the classic controller into the wii remote, but I thought the wii remote uses an IR sensor to communicate with the wii. I don't have a wii; do I need one for this to work?

There is a programs in the market that lets you connect the wii remote to the phone. I use one called wiimote controller. The wii remote uses bluetooth to communicate not IR.
So let me get this straight..
You guys download an emulator to play nes games on your phone using the wii classic controller....
this means.. that you have a wii around..
wouldnt it just be easier to play the game on the wii?

Nope, just the Wii controller which as mentioned upthread communicates with the phone via Bluetooth.

Yea i could do that. Either by buying the game on the wii or hacking my wii then downloading it. But its nice to bring a wii mote with me somewhere and play on my phone. I dont allways have my wii with me and cant allway hook it up where it go so i bring my phone

[Q] WiiMote w/Emulators. Need advice on what to buy/mapping + ?'s

I have my Evo running an AOSP ROM and I have PSX4DROID, SNES, Gameboid, N64oid as my emulators. I went out yesterday and purchased a WiiMote (just the remote) but apparently that isn't enough.
I will mainly be using it for N64 (have to get my Zelda fix) and Mario Kart 64. I tried opening Mario Kart 64 and mapping the keys. I mapped all the keys and when I launched the game I could not turn with the D-PAD on the Wiimote.
I successfully paired the with WiiMoteController (app) but it won't turn left or right. I can do everything else but it kind of defeats the purpose.
Questions
Should I be mapping the keys within the N64 emulator app (what I've been doing) or map the keys in the WiiMoteController app?
Do I also need to buy the Nunchuck attachment?
Is it possible to just have the WiiMote and use that for my gaming?
Is there a Wii Controller attachment that I can slide my Wiimote into to turn it into a full fledge controller?
Why don't the Rom Gripper & Rom Gripper ++ download any ROMs? Are the servers down?
I'm confused and frustrated as I was trying all night to play around with it. I also want to mention that I didn't have success in the Zelda app either.
Wii-mote alone doesnt have sufficient buttons for the N64. Really its lacking to even cover the SNES.
Mostly I game using GBA, because of this. To combat it, you can get the classic controller plugin - http://www.amazon.com/Wii-Classic-Controller-nintendo/dp/B000IN0BSU
Which plugs into the wiimote, and should map through the WiiMoteController app, though I havent tried to see for sure. Personally I want it totally portable, and dont want to have to carry a third thing. I wish they would just make a wireless wii classic controller to work on its own. But alas...
Another problem you may be encountering with N64 and PSX, is mapping analog to digital. You are familiar with the analog controls of the original, but as I understand it, you can only map the classic controller as keyboard input, which turns them into digital control (full on, full off, like a keyboard button press). For many games that wont matter, but for many it will. Just another consideration.
Don't know anything about romgripper though, I only backup my games that I have bought with tools built from scratch

you mean the Datel Retro wireless controller? That's what I bought. Think of it as a classic controller with the wiimote built inside
http://www.amazon.com/Wii-Retro-Wireless-Controller-Nintendo/dp/B001ULJGDU
I laugh at everyone getting a wiimote + classic controller for use with their phones, lol. Who the hell wants to carry that around?
Hell, I don't even use the datel controller that much (thank god I have a wii to use it with as well). Like I'm going to carry a controller with me everywhere I go, seriously.
I just choose games that work well with touchscreen controls (like strategy games and rpgs)
So do you recommend me getting a nunchuck along with my WiiMote or returning the Wiimote and buying the Datel?
I downloaded the ROM before (I do own all the games I downloaded) and I only care about those 2 games.
well getting a nunchuck isn't really going to solve your problem of not having enough buttons for N64 and PSX games...
and about the controller still not working after you mapped the buttons, you still have to switch to the controller in the standard Android input settings (like switch away from an onscreen keyboard) AS WELL as enabling the "input option" within the emulators. Like in Gameboid, if you go into "other settings" you will find an input option that you have to toggle (in addition to simply mapping the keys in the controls section).

I get 5 to 10 emails/PMs a day about this, you're going to want to get the Datel Retro Wireless. Wiimotes are only good for NES and Sega Master System.

Well if you convert your own games using yifanlu's psxperia converter you have to tick enable analog on the last screen, from there you run your emu on the phone and press menu, select controller settings, enable analogue mode, go to assign buttons and select type 5
there you go

I don't think you can assign a bluetooth controller as port two, you can switch control pads though in the assign controller option, I have no idea why anyone would use player 2 only in a game. But i do think you can assign a bluetooth controller as player 2 in fpse

just a FYI you can pair the ps3 chatpad to the a100 aswell an use the touch mouse function on it aswell just make sure you calibrate it!
Calibrate the touch mouse on the chatpad have it on an paired in mouse mode an hold the left blue shoulder button an right shoulder button till the lights blink out an bammo its not so touchy all over the place crazy anymore!!!
To put the chatpad into discovery mode hold the left blue shoulder button an then turn on the chatpad while holding the blue shoulder button an have your tablet look for things in pairng mode an then type in the 4 digit code with the chatpad an hit enter an enjoy.

How to pairing my A100 and my Sixaxis? Help me
Inviato dal mio A100 con Tapatalk 2
OK to pair the six axis download these things
Sixaxis from play store and on a PC or laptop go to dancing pixels website and get the pair tool program.
Open up six axis on ur a100 (or any device that your pairing) click start and at the bottom left u will see the blue tooth address.
Now connect your ps3 controller to your PC(or laptop) via usb and start the pair tool program. Enter the Bluetooth address from your six axis app into your PC pair tool program and hit OK or set master I don't remember what it says but after that any time u want to use the controller open the six axis app and click start and just hit PS home on your controller player 1 light will light up Once it says connected your ready to rock.
Now for games. All games work differently. It depends what your using.
For emulators I use
N64oid
Nes.emu
Snes9x
Gameboid
Gen.emu
They all have controller support which can be set within the app.
Firstly go to the six axis app hit the menu button and go to preferences. Click gamepad settings and check off the first box so android sees the ps3 controller as a native controller.
Now you can play games like gta3 and Max Payne with out setting anything. It just works! And awesome I may add.
Now that that's done lets say u wanna play snes9x ex. Make sure your ps3 controller is connected to your device. Open snes9x go into options-input-key config-gamepad controls now just click on one and press on the ps3 controller what button you want it to be. This is fairly simple. Now u can also turn off the on screen controls for the emulator also so they are out of your way.
As for profiles just take a screen shot of the In game open it up under touch emulation in six axis l and set it as you want. I have made almost every game work that doesn't support a controller example n.o.v.a 3 or modern combat 3. It may take a little tweaking but practice makes perfect.

Games with PS3 control support

So tonight I spent a little time trying to get my PS3 control hooked up to my Galaxy Note 2, for anyone that doesnt know the note 2 and galaxy s3 can support ps3 controls over bluetooth stock which is awesome no aosp needed. Took me a while because the sixaxis app for my computer wouldnt play nice with windows 8 had to use motioninjoy. I have gotten it to play nice with every emulator so far SNES and N64 but I am looking for some games that can use the control as well I've purchased grand theft auto 3 and hoping to see if we can have a thread with games we try that are fun to play with a control. Also if anyone needs some help setting up the ps3 control to there note I would be glad to help root is required.

Just got my controller today, and am in the middle of setting up the buttons for N64 emulator. I am having trouble with setting up the left analog stick to act as steering in Mariokart 64. It seems that when in the game, I can see that when I press the joystick left, the joystick on screen goes left, but seemingly not far enough to activate the steering (same with right)? What am I doing wrong?
Thanks~

Interesting enough when I set mine up that worked by default man I can play Mario kart with no issues I just mapped the actual buttons. Try this tho I did this for the snes emulator set up the directional pad instead and then my analog worked on its own.

I had the same good fortune for Snes emulator, but still having issues with the N64 emulator. I attached a pic of what I jst tried after reading your post, but still no luck. Last night I had it set-up with the Anolog (L) right in the middle of the toggle on screen, but still couldn't get it to work. I mean it worked, but not enough to make it move on screen????. So tonight I just mapped the directional pad( pictured here), and the toggle/analog on the control doesn't work at all. So I'm at a loss with this one. Any setting I'm missing?
Thanks~

question regarding the n64 emulator... you say you are using a controller over bt with n64 games? which app do you use for this? and also which controller?
i play a lot of n64 on my device, but use the touch screen layout, it is playable, but if there is a better way, please share your secretz
gotta unlock those cheats brah. rofl
I have an six axis ps3 control and I used a app for the computer to program the bluetooth mac address. I didn't use a dual shock but imagine it would work the same I keep my dual shocks for use on my ps3 though. Your gonna need sixaxis controller from the market. Also I couldn't get the sixaxis controller app for my computer to work for the life of me but I believe it's a windows 8 problem. So I download ds3 control it works without issues on windows eight and has more features. I understand you don't need all this if you use a wii control but I don't have one.

For what it's worth,
I finally got mine to work with the N64 emulator. It was one of two things:
Simply rebooting after installing Sixaxis
Pinch to Zoom to widen the radius of the Analog button( this was probably the fix)
Supergnes+legend of zelda a link to the past=pure win with the ps3 controller.
You just have to go into settings, select controller 1. Then you just press the button you want to correspond with the button used for the game. Very easy.

For a great n64 emulator, go to paulscode.com and get the latest beta emulator, im using it and its amazing with the sixaxis app and ps3 controller. U can map the c buttons of the n64 controller to the right joy stick of the ps3 controller.
As for the sixaxis app, if u have root axis, all you need to do is plug in the controller to your phone, and click pair phone, it updates the BT master code, so ur phone recognizes the controller. Then you click start in the sixaxis app and push the center button on the ps3 controller, it should recognize the controller, then you go into the controller settings, or your phones main settings and then input settings, find the sixaxis input, click on settings, and enable gamepad controller.
Just set up the key mappings in app and your good to go.
I purchased a Gameklip from their website, google it, it attaches the PS3 controller to a spare case, which you can buy from their website aswell, and it all functions great.
