If you have root on both devices, you can simply copy the relevant /data/data/* folder from the source to the destination.

Will it work on the g2 with VISIONary?

Until the android os has some sort of built-in backup system for app and game data (sync to PC or backup to SD), I don't see the point in putting the time and effort into a game like Angry Birds on my phone. Sure, you can use Titanium Backup, but that requires root and it's a pay app.
I've had to swap my G2 twice now due to hardware faults. It's a real pain getting everything back to normal. I have used Titanium Backup before on my N1, but I sometimes got unpredictable side-effects from a restore.

Resoting Backed Up Apps (Titanium). Easier Way ?

TITLE SHOULD READ : RESTORING. I have sausage fingers and typing on a HP MINI is a little difficult..lol. sorry.
Not sure if i'm doing something incorrectly but it gets a little tedious having to click "install" and "done" when Titanium is running the restore batch.
I have 268 apps/system data backed up and im getting tired of having to click install and done...268 times. LOL.
Anyone?

I held out for the longest time, but now I'm so happy I purchased. Sooooooo much faster and easier to deal with.
holy cow. I didnt even realize that the full version gave you the ability to do that.
Buying right now!
Thanks all!
I just use android commander to back up the apps and titanium to backup the data, then use android commander to batch restore them and titanium to batch restore the data.
Donated for full version. Worth every penny!

As long as you keep a back up of the apk you will be fine, otherwise you will have to buy it again.

From the market? If its from the market don't worry. I have flashed roms so much in the past week and forgot to backup paid apps. Go to market after signing into Google and they say purchased. So I can download still if its not on the phone without paying again.. just saying. Not surebif that's where your getting them from.

I backed up let's golf with titanium before switching roms and titanium reinstated it with no issues.

Gameloft games are not in the market, except for asphalt. You must back up those games with an app like titanium backup, otherwise you have to buy them again from gameloft.

Look in download folder on sdcard, the game is still there. I use root explorer to reinstall them but I think any file explorer should work.

Restoring titanium backups..

I got a new G2 under warranty, and before I sent in my old one, I used Titanium back up to back up all apps and everything. I copied everything on my sd card and when I load Titanium back up, it has the apps listed but it says 0B for App and Data, so it doesn't restore anything besides the app itself, no data for save games or scores...

Stupid question time. Were you rooted?
Yea, titanium backup won't work at all unless you are rooted.

Oh, it might back the apps up but not the data.
The whole point of it is to backup apps and data. I have used it before without issue

Frigged my Epic a little

Here's my situation: experimented with removing some system apps today (mostly bloatware) on my rooted stock ec05 Epic and I decided to try getting rid of "System Updates 1.0.0". Then, I remembered I sometimes use the update prl function to reconnect my 3g if JuiceDefender doesn't kick it back on automatically after I wake the screen up, so I popped back into Titanium Backup to restore the app. It's been in the process of restoring it for the past 30 min and I'm not optomistic anymore. My question is this: is there a way to get this system app back short of ODINing back to complete stock? I lurk a lot on the Epic boards but I haven't experimented a lot with my Epic itself, so I'm ignorant when it comes to these tricks. Thanks for any help I receive.
Cheers

Try reflashing the rom and you cant backup sys apps with titanium
I reccomend you use sdx stock app remover it pretty easy and backups too and it doesnt take forever like titanium

Damn. I was afraid of that. It's funny because TB restores most of Tue other apps just fine, just not System Update and the drm files.
How about this: I located the apks for these three in my TB folder and extracted them to the sex backup folder. I'm trying to restore them via sex tool now, but I always get an error saying I'm out of space, and SD maid doesn't turn up anything I can delete to make room. If I could make room, would that method work, and if so, how should I make room?

In fact, I tried something else this morning andachived a stellar bootloop, so I Odin's and am going to use sdx. Thanks for all the help!

Get rid of the double-ended dildo. That'll free up a fair amount of space.

lol. That's actually the ever-helpful Gingerbread keyboard on my NookColor. Gotta love it.
The latest paid version of Titanium Backup allows the deletion and restoration of system apps. You should see a red Happy face, IIRC.

You myst be rooted for this. Use titanium backup to backup everything to your sdcard on the old phone. Then put that card in the new phone and restore. DO NOT RESTORE SYSTEM APPS OR DATA. That will only lead to major headache.

^^^like he said. Titanium backup. I have gone thru 6 phones in the last 2 years and always restore my games data with this app. Totally worth the price.
