I went to open it and it required an update and it did not allow me to update it from the phone.

for the record, the video stuff doesnt work over data. it only works over wifi. i have been unable to find a workaround yet. the last version worked fine with data.

yes it did, and I gave it permission via superuser.

I am having the same problem, running latest KE2 firmware, rooted, with KE2 firmware.

You need to enable USB debugging in Settings > Applications > Development

Worked for me. Have not tried it with anyone yet but it shows that I'm video ready. You don't need wifi for this to work right? It will work with video over 3g too right..?
UPDATE: Just tried it and works perfectly on SGS2 but I guess you do need WIFI for it to work. My friend tried to chat with me while I was on HSPA and he can see that I was video ready but it just rang once on his end and just a google talk bubble on my end saying he tried to video me but I was not on wifi to receive. Is this normal? Does anyone have it working on 3g (HSPA) too? Also, I noticed on paul's page he said it can be un-installed. If you un-install it, will you be back to the original googoe chat that was baked into the SGS2..?

working just fine CM7 nightly #133. Loving the new interface, and the new icon. I like that the colors kinda mimic what the market website looks like.
Video app is also in the new market.

Mine was choppy and didn't display images till i rebooted. then it worked just fine.
also if you're rooted you can try to wipe market data in titanium backup and reboot. or wipe cache and reboot and try that.
Works pretty dam good on non-rooted stock.
Video is nice and smooth. Couldn't really tell I was streaming on mobile data. (Which was probably 4g)

dang! Im running the pyro rom but cant get this to install. it just says "Application not installed" anyone has any ideas how to fix this?
Anyone having issues updating apps? I've had 2 apps now show up in the 'update' heading, but when u click thru to the app the top dialogue boxes are 'open' and 'uninstall', as if that page doesn't recognize that there's an update.
Once 2 apps were available for updating, the "update 2" button comes up and it allows me to hit it. 1 of the 2 updated. the other still won't. Tried wiping Market data and rebooting, no luck. bleh.
UPDATE: Well after doing several reboots and etc. etc., I just simply went back to the file (From this thread) and re-installed the market again. Now the 'update' button shows up! Not sure what I did but it works now.

Not for me. Went to the help section of the market and was told to download an addon...which is stated not supported for my cell...and won't download. Guess I have to wait

Greetings everyone,
Just wanted everyone here to know that the old, but practical CityID app works for our Epic Touch too. It was an old app developed in 2010 for android 2.1, but it works fine for us as well. This will display the City and State of the current caller on the call screen.
I'm running stock EL29 rooted. I have included the apk.
Download>Install like a regular apk> Open the app> head to space from bottom for proper positioning. What works best for me is bottom high.
The app needs a bit of updating in its directory, but it works well. It would be nice if a developer wants to take a crack at it.

I downloaded it and installed, but it doesn't do anything for me. I also tried a test call and the app said network error. I saw that at the time, the OP was sued as well

You could also get SetDNS (requires root) from the play store, go to custom DNS and use these two values:

(click apply after this)
Then force close pandora, clear data and restart it

You can use adfreetime, I do, I'm in Canada and it works great for Pandora and spotify. Also includes ad blocker and netflix region switcher. $2 per month. www.adfreetime.com
I have recently rooted my 2012 N7 and am trying to put a modded Pandora apk on it but it won't install. I have unknown sources checked and have installed other 3rd party apps. Has anyone had this happen to them, whether it's this app or another one?
Sorry if this is the wrong forum. I am running Slims latest build, love it. But I have one app that won't let me install that I NEED for work, and is working for my coworkers iPhones. It says App is unavailable for my country, even tho the iPhone one installs?
