[APP] Check Fus 2.0 - The firmware checker. Make you are up to date! - Galaxy S I9000 Themes and Apps

Hi,
I have made a little tool to check if there's any new firmwares on the FUS servers. No more need of starting Kies to check for new firmware!
* Automatically checks for new firmware update! (Pro only)
* Notifies the user with signal and vibration if a new firmware is released. (Pro only)
* Finds your "Product Code" and "HIDSWVER"
* Use custom or presets of "Product Code" and "HIDSWVER"
* Send the output by email
* No ads (Pro Only)
* Check multiple regions automatically (Pro Only).
* Check multiple regions on one click (Pro Only).
* If you want me to add any presets to the list, just PM me and I'll add them.
If you have any suggestion on what to improve, just let me know!
You can find me on IRC in #project-voodoo on freenode if you want to chat.
You can find it on the market:

How to find correct Product Code, PDA, CSC and Phone.
From you device.
dial *#1234# and you will get pda, phone and csc.
Product code
*2767*4387264636#
Or
Product Code is connected to you region and/or carrier.
The easiest way is to take a look in the list on this page to find out which one you should have.
Let me then know your setup and I'll add it to the presets!
If you have the FUS-link the file looks like this

Yes, I'm working on getting it to work, but I cant get the app to open the specified file. I get permission error. Any advice on how to read system files would help a lot! I have got SuperUser to grant root access.

Thank You for this. I must not anymore cheking new firmware with Kies or with login on Samfirmware. I was checking some product code with your apk , and i got really interesting result, but right.
Once more thanks
Best regards

Sorry for the problems!
I'll have a look at the black screen issue asap!
Just a question, have you rooted your device?
Can someone provide me with a logcat when starting the app?

Yes and in the beggining it was asking for rooting permissions as usually..i said yes and after this..black screen..

Maybe app not working with strong modified FW (voodoo, etc.), only with stock FW ? Logical, fus server dont know what is voodoo modification, unknown FW. It is only my personal mind....

It's working on my JPA+hardcore kernel and also in a 1.6 emulator (not the auto-discover of product code though, because of not rooted).

It shouldnt be any difference, voodoo only modifies the kernel, and the app should start anyway, like any other application, its made to work on Android 1.6. Did it work prior the auto-discover of ProductCode and HIDSWVER?

The easiest way is to install SendLog from market, start Check Fus, when it have started and only shows black screen, exit the application and start SendLog and send the log to [email protected]

[APP] Script for checking Kies firmware updates

I've written PHP script that pretends Kies application and asks Samsung's server about updates for given device. Reason for that was simple: I wanted to know about official Froyo release without manually checking it with Kies with registers hacks.
Download:
http://files.zajec.net/kies.updates.php.txt
Usage:
php kies.updates.php.txt
Requirements:
php with curl extension
Checking for other countries and devices:
Check last 4 lines in script and modify them. Syntax is simple:
getUpdateInfo('ANY-NAME', 'ProductCode', 'HIDSWVER');
Example:
Code:
Europe Countries / GT-I9000HKDXEU / I9000XXJF3/I9000OXAJF3/I9000XXJF3/I9000XXJF3
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LATEST_FW_VERSION I9000XXJM1/I9000OXAJF3/I9000XXJM1/I9000XXJM1
BINARY_URI http://fus.samsungmobile.com/Phone_Binary/9/GT-I9000_I9000XXJM1_I9000OXAJM1_I9000XXJM1_I9000XXJM1_XX_XEU.zip.enc
LAST_MODIFIED 10/08/21
CURRENT_DISPLAYVERSION I9000XXJF3/I9000OXAJF3/I9000XXJF3/I9000XXJF3
LATEST_DISPLAYVERSION I9000XXJM1/I9000OXAJM1/I9000XXJM1/I9000XXJM1
great, congrat. at last something useful appears here
woooooohoooooooo!!!!! thank you!

Never mind. I think I got it.
Just a thought. Is there any way to add an RSS feed or something to this so it notifies me if anything changes. Instant notice of FROYO Yeah baby.

I'm not understanding one thing: where do I paste the php code?
Thanks.
Kies has been updated in order for the script to work you need to change the version of the Kies in the query inside the php code:
line 59: from 1.5.3.10093.82 to 1.5.3.10103.100
still no Froyo....

Hello,
this morning I got the message that there is "No firmware info with the given data". Yesterday it worked perfektly. The data I'm using:
getUpdateInfo('Europe Countries', 'GT-I9000HKDDBT', 'I9000XXJF3/I9000OXAJF3/I9000XXJF3/I9000XXJF3');
What could be the reason?
Maybe a fimware update?

Kies was updated and Samsung changed protocol which Kies uses to check for firmware. That way my PHP script uses outdated protocol which does not work anymore. Will have to update it when I get my hands on new Kies.
Similar issue can be noticed when using old Kies. It was reported in: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=9013623
OK, so there was not any real change in protocol. Samsung just banned old Kies versions. File available under http://files.zajec.net/kies.updates.php.txt works again.
It shows "I9000XXJPO/I9000OXAJPO/I9000XXJPP/I9000XXJPO" for Europe Countries,
"I9000XWJM2/I9000OXXJM1/I9000XXJM1/I9000XWJM2" for Poland (no branding).
Not sure what do to do now... Wait for Polish release or use version for Europe Countires?
Great work!
Do you think fus site is publishing the .enc files passkey too, somewhere within its webservice ?
I guess it should be reasonable, as Kies shouldn't know anyone at first...

Interesting. Here's a reminder of the build details for JK1 (dial *#*#44336#*#*):

PHONE: P1000XXJK1
CSC: P1000OXAJK1
BUILD TIME: 01/11/2010 20:10:05 KST
Change List: 589527
Should I go through the pain of re-installing all my apps, settings and root-tweaks just for the sake of a build 9 days more recent than JK1 ?
Going from JJK1 to JJK5:
If you select only "PDA", no PIT file/repartition, no Modem, no CSC and this file the update will not delete your user applications/data/...
Only thing I needed to do after was to re-root it.
PS: But better be safe than sorry and make a backup anyway

Had to re-root, used the z4-Mod app this time (last time I did it entirely manually, via the shell). Reboot...all fine (so far)
EDIT: the system apps remained with their latest updates, but my XDA-sourced Gallery3D apk (in /system/app/) was replaced with the JK5 flash...not a big deal, I'll just overwrite it again, if the sensor bug comes back ! UPDATE: yep, Gallery sensor bug still here...app replaced !
EDIT: AdFree had to be re-activated (no big deal, just something to think about after flashing).
Upgraded from JK1 to JK5 too, without issue.

Grabbing ROMs from unknown sources, without any change-log whatsoever is a little risky...the only reason for doing it is intellectual curiosity, and the confidence to restore the system if anything fails.

I was quite worried about flashing the PDA component over my nicely-configured Android machine (which took me some time to get how I wanted it to be)...so I made a full Titanium backup just in case (apps+data), and I took notes of the few changes I made to the core system. As it turned out, the transition to JK5 was very smooth, everything that's visible on the surface remained the same...I guess the real changes are buried under the hood...god knows exactly what changed !

Have you tried the Development form? This thread has a stock version you can download also, as well as the rooted, deodexed, zipaligned version:
[ROM] Stock UCLJ3 Rooted, Deodexed, Zipaligned( 2 Versions)
(Sorry, I am too new to post links, so you will just have to go to the development form, page 1, about half way down, above is the name of the thread.)
Thank you for taking the time to reply. Iam aware of the links in the Dev thread, but wanted to return the phone to an unrooted stock firmware so that Barclay's banking apps work and there are no VoIP issues for things like Skype and what's app. I want to pass the phone on to my son.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1994902
The first link is for the pure stock UCLJ3 Rom. The Dev-Host website will redirect you to an advertisement if you are not a member when you click download. So if you go to the site, become a free member, and download the file. I downloaded it just now to ensure that it still works.
Be sure to slap dman3285 's thanks button!
Thank you once again
The Link to which your refer describes the firmware as....
"Here is the Stock UCLJ3 Firmware for ICS
It is:
Rooted
Deodexed
Zipaligned
Batch Optimized
NOT debloated"
Using 'rooted' firmware does not allow the use of Barclays banking app's.
Kind Regards
Phill Beckman
Give sediROM a try!
While installing sediROM you can decide if you want to have it rooted or not!!
Would be nice to know if that fixes your problem.

Thankyou for your response.
I installed sediROM - using TWRP without issue - (chose un-rooted option) - Skype and WhatsApp voice call work correctly and my son is busy customising his 'new' phone -
I note that Bluetooth file transfer does not work but this appears to be a known issue - I'm trusting that the headset profiles work as this was a stated aim for this ROM fork, and his pending birthday present is to be a set of Bluetooth headphones.

really glad to hear that. Do not hesitate to click thanks here and in the sediROM posts
That keeps me motivated
yes bluetooth file transfer is an issue but I thought it is for the latest beta only (v2.0)? You use v1.7 right?
You're totally right the reason for sediROM was to be able to use bluetooth headset profiles
plus fixing a bug in ICS which removes all existing bluetooth pairings after a reboot. Both (and many more) fine in sediROM
All the best

Thanks dude. I already find the cause for that problem and a first fix was successful. I will implement the fix in the ROM build and if all went well I can release v2 finally.
Sent from my SGH-I927 using XDA Free mobile app
Hello to everyone! I would like to mention that I can't return to roger's stock as well (2.3.5). I have cm11 and I try to flash via odin3 v3.04 the I927RUXKJ5_I927RUXKJ5_I927RRWCKJ5_HOME.tar.md5. Odin process seems to be successfull, but when the phone reboots, is freezes at roger's welcome screen . I 've tried different stock roms and ways but nothing.. I try to flash these roms via TWRP (not odin) but nothing again . When I flash any custom rom there is no problem at all. It seems strange to me that everyone can gurrantee a successfull custom rom upgrade and if someone wants to downgrade to original rom, there are a lot issues. Please, I would like to install my original rogers 2.3.5 rom. If someone could give me a successfull tutorial, i would appreciate that. Thanks in advance.

What do you understand by when I say, I tried every instruction but still got the sideload error.
Please don't comment unless you actually know the solution.
Thanks

Hi adfree,
BIG FAN.
MODEL NUMBER: SM-R820
Firmware Version: R820XXUIBTC7
And yes i tried every step mentioned in the thread as well as the video. While I tried doing with the same with the listed sdb, tpk, and apk also the latest Tizen studio. It asked me update it. So later in the same thread, "index of sdb files" that were mentioned. I downloaded the latest version dated April 6(sdb_4.2.12_windows-64).
Now I tried with the updated version, it did execute but it gave the "sideload error".
So i think this sums up that I have followed every step on my watch. following are the same.
1. Turn the "debugging" on.
2. Select WiFi as "always on" and connected to the same WiFi network as of the Laptop.
3. Noted down the IP address.
4. Open Tizen and remote connect to the watch. (check the RSA key prompt on watch)
5. Unzip the downloaded folders and move the bp.tpk to tools "sub-folder" for sdb.
6. Now run the "aniscon".
7. In command line, type "sdb install bp.tpk".
These were the steps I followed. Kindly help me if I have missed any step.

Tiny correction.

IMHO the only known CSC / Salescode... is INU... India.
https://doc.samsungmobile.com/SM-R820/INU/doc.html
Maybe somebody from India could please confirm... BTC7 is working for this procedure...
Feel free also try the new "public" released TPK for BP... here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=82859231&postcount=719
It is inside system.7z
Please try and confirm if still Sideload Error...
Best Regards
Is it possible to install this app on SM-R805F?

Hi @renton82
Many have tried sideloading and it succeeds but while you try to calibrate it, it is stuck at 0%.
So I don't think SM-R805F supports BP measurement.

Ok great, go to Tizen's Package Manager and follow the steps:
1. Under Main SDK tab, install the 5.5 wearable package.
2. Go to the Extension tab, install Samsung wearable extension.
Let it complete and then try the way you were trying earlier to scan for the device using remote device manager from the drop-down. Hopefully you will get it working this time.
Once it shows up, enable the Connect toggle.
Then run the "aniscon" command line and type "sdb install bp.tpk". (make sure you are using the old sdb only)
For better assistance, follow this video.
I hope it will work.
Brilliant thanks!! I will try that!! Much appreciated!!

Hi @TeeKay35
As per i know, using a Samsung smartphone will hardly make any difference, just download the apk on your phone and install it, later connect it with your watch. I think it should run as usual.
Please right back if any problem occurs.

Very good, and thank you.
First of all, I would like to say, very nice work! I have been looking for this possibility for a really long time.
My S7 has the latest binary version 8. When I look at the screenshots, I also see a version 8.
I have two questions about this:
Is it possible to keep my own CSC or is it only possible to use XEO?
Do I flash everything via TWRP or do I also need Odin?

Thanks for your quick reply. That would be very nice of you, if you could make it suitable for me with the CSC DBT. You do not believe how much you do me a favor with this.

Maybe it will work on my S7. I could give it a try. Otherwise, I would try your version and attempt to flash the CSC with Odin afterwards. Or do you think that's not a good idea?

So I tried the DBT version. It sadly didn't boot like you said it would. Now I have flashed your version. Still it boots, I think with the Samsung logo I have to wait just 10-20 minutes as you mentioned. After that I'll see if it worked for me. But thanks never less!
Unfortunately, that doesn't seem to work either. It is still at the Samsung logo. Too bad. Nevertheless, thank you. I just don't understand Samsung, why they forbid you to make a downgrade....
try format data
I always format data as well, since I don't like to flash dirty.

No problem. Thanks for your time aniway.
Couldn't downgrade. Followed instructions and did it twice. First time Samsung logo with S G930 appeared and the LED was off, then repeated the steps and only SAMSUNG + LED on, but no result, stuck at it
