Thank you so much!

ok, so here we go, commuter series pics and 1 video
to start things off, here is the video, i just uploaded it so it may take a while to process.
the buttons on this case are amazing, i love how they protrude from the case making them super easy access, the only thing i did not like about this buy was the screen protector did not make it across the entire screen. other than that this thing is perfect. would definitly buy again.

and here are the awaited pics.
this is it with the case on, in my makeshift dock lol

captivate- outer shell - inner shell
again front side
inner shell bendability. yes i made that word up.
and the one issue i had with the case, as you can see there is some space left over on the screen that is unprotected, the screen cover did not make it all the way down the screen probably 1-2 mm of space, enough for some annoying dirt

Got mine in the mail today, can't post pictures or links because I am a noob. Here are my thoughts:
1. Screen protector: I didn't like the screen protector. Too much drag, even more than the invisible shield I had installed prior to the Otterbox. So I am going to go naked in terms of screen protection. I am pretty careful with it so hopefully I won't scratch the screen.
2. Added width/thickness: this case does add thickness to the phone, mainly in width. Honestly I do like the added feel to the phone. In relation to thickness, it is noticable, but compared to my wife's 3GS with an Incase slide on case, it is still thinner.
3. Feel: I like the feel of the case, doesn't add that much weight, but def feels much sturider in hand. The hard shell cover that goes over the rubber doesn't feel overly "cheap" per se, but doesn't quite feel "refined". Probably just my preference again, so YMMV.
4. Materials: As stated before the outer shell feels as if it could have been refined a little more in feel. The shell only wraps around the phone horizontally, leaving only the liner exposed on the very top and very bottom of the phone. The inner liner is a bit flimsy and can be easily lifted from the phone while pulling it out of a pocket while sitting down (I always keep my phone screen "in" in my pocket just in case I walk into a corner). There is a plug for the headphone jack that seals quite well.
Any other questions, feel free to ask.

does it come with a belt clip, or is that only with the defender case?
how about the in/out of the pocket....any drag, or pulling out the pocket with the phone?
thanks for the info!

clip is only with the defender
there is no drag through the pocket, i can see where the rubber material might drag a little bit but not enough to tell.

Got my Commuter case today as well, I agree with most of the review posts above. I will say however that this case is exactly what I was looking for. It makes the phone much easier to grip, I have large hands , and the thinness of the phone made it kind of hard to handle.
I didnt use the included screen protector as I already have one on the phone, but dont kid yourself Gorilla Glass WILL SCRATCH! Also, I highly recommend the AT&T screen protectors that are sold in the store as a 3 pack for $10, best screen protectors on the market. Let me say it again !!!BEST SCREEN PROTECTORS ON THE MARKET!!! Perfect fit, smooth touch with no drag as mentioned with the other brands above.

Hey, do you find that the silicone is flimsy? it kinda looks like it from the picture and video, thin and flimsy. and does the otter shell take the impact before the bottom of the phone does? because the whole open top and bottom thing isnt comfy. i ordered this case for myself but am thinking maybe i should have gone Seidio Active X, the silicone seems thicker and more shock absorbant....any opinions?

the silicone is very flexible, but it is thick, dont get the wrong idea here, the case will NOT come apart by a fall or anything like that, its really hard to get apart unless you are actually trying. the places where the hard shell is covering the inner shell, the inner shell is thinner, but on the outer edges and top and bottom the soft rubber is actually thicker.

oh ok thats not too bad then, so the top and bottom that are exposed have a much thicker layer? and well the it hit the sides of outter shell before making an impact on the bottom do u think? cause ive dropped a phone in a silicone case before and the absorption was non-existent lol, it hit the bottom and even with silicone theres dents, although the silicone was quite thin, i really like the look of this case im just hoping the top and bottom will be protected with a fall despite the openings

im not a gambler, but i would put money against a... 5' fall into concrete against either the top or bottom and the phone (not the case) would not be scratched or dented.

5 cases reviewed/compared

*I originally posted this in the thread Cases for Nitro HD and Optimus LTE, but aquariuz23 suggested I just post a thread that would be easier to find for everyone, so here!*
So, I'm a case fiend and have gathered a few in my process of finding the best case for me for how I use my Nitro, and I think I'm finally satisfied! So here's a small summary of the cases I have and tested:
None have the hole in the corner for the antenna that's not there, and all elevate the area around the camera lens just enough so that when set down, the camera glass doesn't touch the surface. Also, all of them have exposed ports for USB and headphone jack, obviously. Finally, they're all quite thin and don't add much bulk to the phone, the thinnest being the Barely-There, and the fattest being the Transparent Snap-On case. But even still, we're talking about plus or minus maybe 1.5 mm variance in added thickness.
Generic black TPU from Ebay (power button covered)-

Pros:
-Perfect fit
-Grippy in hand, but doesn't cling to inside of jeans, so easy to take in and out of pocket
-Full protection
-Glossy can look nice (if clean)
-Easy to put on and take off
Cons:
-Glossy can look ugly (if dirty, and gets dirty easily)
-Covers volume rocker, which is good for protection, but can make it kinda tricky to find, even though the texture of the case is a little different over the rocker to indicate where it is)
-Hole for camera portion unnecessarily large
Transparent snap-on from Ebay (power button exposed)-
Pros:
-Not as cheap looking as would expect
-Excellent coverage for protection
-Access to volume rocker and power button
-Overall, pretty good fit
Cons:
-Creaky if pressed on certain edges of the case
-Hole for camera portion too large
-A little tricky to take off, though gets easier with practice
-Material feels hard and sharp, and in putting on and taking off the case, I feel nervous about it scratching the screen protector
Rubberized snap-on from Ebay (power button exposed)-
Pros:
-Looks quite good
-Excellent coverage for protection
-Access to volume rocker and power button
-Overall, pretty good fit
-Matte surface hides finger prints
Cons:
-Rubberized texture is surprisingly slick in hand, but tends to grip to inside of jean pocket, making it hard to pull out, but easy to drop
-Creaky if pressed on certain edges of the case
-Hole for camera portion too large
-A little tricky to take off, though gets easier with practice
Barely There from Amazon (power button exposed)-
Pros:
-Looks great, matte surface hides fingerprints
-Solid build
-Perfect Fit
Cons:
-A little slick to hold
-Exposed top and bottom (if dropped, even onto a perfectly flat surface, the top and bottom edge of the front face of the phone will hit the surface, not the case, so not great protection)
-A little hard to take off
Body Glove from Amazon (power button covered)-
Pros:
-Excellent fit
-Great material (kinda like tougher, matte TPU with textured portions for gripping)
-Material is EXCELLENT at repelling fingerprints/particles/hairs
-Good grip in hand but slips right out of pocket easily
-Covers all of the camera but the necessary lens and flash
-Easy to put on and take off
-Complete coverage except for access to volume rocker
Cons:
-Not the best looking case in the world... pattern design is questionable to me...
Personal fav: Body glove! Has full coverage of the phone, is fantastic at staying clean, is a great, tough, firm material, and is easy to pop on and off for those of us that swap out batteries. Shame it's not a prettier design, but for all its pros, I'll set that aside =)
The Body Glove case actually looks nice to me.
I think I'm just a super minimalist when it comes to design, so my immediate impulse is to favor things that are really super simple and uniform, but I think the texture pattern is kinda growing on me =)
I'm starting to look into the body glove too. I'm just trying to judge the thickness from the pictures, as well as the shape. I really like to look of this phone naked, I think it has nice curves and sometimes I feel cases hide the real look, thus why I was leaning towards Barely-There case cuz it very much follows the shape of the phone itself.
Itis (or konrad? lol) do you mind taking a couple or some more shots of the body glove, with better lighting, so I can see how it really looks on the phone?
I, too would appreciate more pics of the Body Glove case with better lighting.
If you guys have an AT&T store nearby you can try the Body Glove case on your phone in store. If not I can see why you want more pictures. It doesn't exactly keep the rounded smoothness of the Nitro. It does, but then it doesn't. I just really like it because it gives texture in all the right places for holding the phone. I wouldn't pay the $30 in store because I'm a cheap-ass. I get accessories half price though so I bought it. I've read that it can be had for pretty cheap on amazon or ebay, so it should be seen as a good purchase.

yup it's about 15 with free shipping in ebay. Not sure about amazon.
I'll second the Body Glove after trying the Ballistic HC and SC. HC was too clunky and messed up the screen up with a ****ty screen protector built in, and the SC repels any screen protector by pushing it off on the edges, kind of hard to explain.
Just got myself body glove. Love it. Doesn't add much bulk, the phone still fit in the belt pouch, little snag, but fits. Since I hold it on left side I was afraid the power button that now sticks out would be pressed when in pouch, but it doesn't.
I shall see how it performs in summer in a heat with sweaty hands. Right now it feels less slippery then without the case.
Thanks.
I just tried the body glove case in the ATT store. I didn't really like how flush it is with the screen. If you dropped it it seemed like the screen could easily be damaged. I wish the rubber/plastic extended up past the screen a tiny bit more. I'm gonna keep looking .
I have 3 kids... so I think I need something a bit more rugged perhaps. I just HATE adding bulk to the phone. Its so sad.

Nice review!
I usually go for the cheap silicone ones off ebay but the body glove one seems nice.
Anyone know waterproof cases that would fit Nitro?
Anyone know if the lg p930 will get an otter box ? As I was at a bell store and there was a guy who said there was one but I'm yet to find it on the internet or otter box website.
Sent from my LG-P930 using XDA App
There is no otterbox for the Nitro. They have one listed for the Optimus, but it's not ours.
So I bought a ballistic case last night and think I'm going to take it back. The screen protector puts a terrible looking noise over the screen (maybe they all do that, I'm not used to screen protectors) but more annoyingly, the thick plastic bezel comes right up to the top edge of the screen and it makes it hard to pull down the notification shade. I fail at pulling it down about 40% of the time and it's driving me crazy.
Thought I would share.

That noise is the main reason I returned it. It absolutely killed the phone for me. And no, it doesn't happen for any screen protectors except that one. I can't even tell I'm using a screen protector with my Moshi one, and that isn't even the best one. It's just the easiest to apply and the only one AT&T had for the Nitro. Do yourself a favor and skip getting the Ballistic SG and just go for the Body Glove.
Sorry for the off topic, but what do you guys do to the phone to scratch the gorilla glass? I mean seriously why do you need a screen protector?
Even if you keep your phone in a pocket with change or keys (well, doh, it already NOT smart), gorilla glass supposedly unscratchable by soft metals as keys or coins.

Case Mate Tough Review

Hey Guys,
I managed to pick up a case mate tough in black today.
First impressions, with the case on it makes the phone a much nicer size to hold and the rubber backing on it gives it a very sturdy grip.
Most screen protectors out there which are dry tends to leave a gap around the edges of the phone, with the case mate tough on this fills the gap up while giving it the lay on the table design.
The case also gives easier access to the power and volume buttons, however i am finding it too easy to accidently press as it feels quite sensitive.
There are 2 nicely cut outs for the noise cancelling and microphone, the rest of the cutouts i must say are perfect.
The home button however is slightly difficult to get to, you have to press it more direct from the top rather than from the bottom up, other than that its pretty must perfect and it protects from drops!
I've attached some photos below, feel free to ask any questions though and i will try my best to answer them.
Hope this helps you guys when purchasing a case!

Nice review! I didn't buy that one, but I was consindering brush aluminum case from case mate.
And, I guess u need this, as well.
Haha thanks! I actually forgot to wipe the screen down! First review so I'll learn to do it next time.
I looked at the case mate aluminium as well; however it doesn't cover the top or bottom completely so that's something to keep in mind.

Not trying to thread jack, But I figured I'd add my little review to give another view point!
Here is a review of the case-mate tough case. If you owned the tough case for your galaxy S II, you'll love this one. They have made the rubber inside case much thicker around the edges of the phone for added protection. The buttons are extremely easy to press and you can even hear them click in as if there was no rubber covering them at all.
After having the tough-case on for about a year the thin layers of the around the headphone jack and USB port started tearing up. Those areas are much thicker this time around. I can throw this thing around like it's a rock and it has no issues. Great protection and well worth the money. If you plan on buying it from case-mate directly make sure you use the CMPeople20 discount code to get 20% off your order. I cost me $33.50 with expedited shipping. Would have been $27 with the free shipping they are offering right now.
Please PM me if you have any specific questions about the case.
Cheers!

Looks tough. Mind dropping it a couple of times to see how well it protects your phone?
Speaking of dropping it, i dropped it accidentally today and it survived!
Don't mean to be negative but I got the case today and it feels great except I'll be returning it. Why? Because the top front and bottom front of the case don't have hard plastic holding down the rubber lips, so they get caught and stretch in the pocket when retrieving. This over time may cause the rubber to tear or stretch too much cause it's very elastic and thin.
Whereas the Otterbox Commuter has the plastic sides cover top, bottom and both sides so that no rubber is loose, but held down tight. A much better product from my experience in the past and looking forward to having it when it arrives in the next week or so. This review will cover what I was talking about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21Dxcyfm3Vg
UPDATE: See my review on both cases here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27997216#post27997216
i also ordered a otterbox commuter as well, should be getting it soon
I ordered the ToughCase for my S3 after having it on my vibrant for the past 2yrs. I've dropped that thing on concrete multiple times and various other surfaces and never had an issue. It wasn't until the past month that the outer plastic starting cracking in the corners which was to be expected at this point.
Also, in my experience the rubber doesn't permanently stretch or rip and I've pulled the phone out of my pocket by the rubber piece many times.
I had the tough case for my GS2. It was ok. Good protection but the silicone was mighty flimsy and pulled when I removed the phone from my pocket.
I also felt that the plastic outside needed to be a little tacky. It was hard plastic and had good texture for grip but was a bit too hard and therefore just a little too smooth on the hand. Now where it was smooth (almost slick) in the hand I felt it was also too rough coming out of the pocket as the texture gripped to my clothing a little to well.
I feel my experience with the GS2 case will keep me from buying it for my GS3. They may have changed those problems though.
I loved the body glove case (the Mirage i believe) I had for my GS1. It had alternating stripes of smooth/tacky and textured lines. It slid in and out of the pocket perfectly and had great grip in the hand. Perfect combination IMO.
When you say your buttons are extremely easy to press is that going to be a problem. I had the seidio active case. Are the buttons as easy to press as that case because I don't like buttons that are too easy to press. Also will it slide easily in and out of your pocket??

I second this question, does the polycarbonate back have a rubberized or is it just slick?
Another way to ask, if I lay it on a slanted surface back side down, will it slide right off or have a little grip?

Incipio Silicrylic Review (Blue)

http://www.incipio.com/Samsung-Galaxy-S-III-Cases/Samsung-Galaxy-S-III-Cases.asp
Contents:
1. Phone Case
-Silicone rubber
-Acrylic
2. Screen cleaning clothe
3. Dry screen protector
Where purchased: T-Mobile Store.
Price: $29.99 + TAX
Review: I bought this case to hold out for maybe a Speck, Otterbox or Body Glove. But man I was impressed with the design. It feels very sturdy and tight on the phone, yet it is quite slim and easy to take off the case. With the acrylic, it slides in and out of pockets. But with the rubber on the sides it grips firmly in your hand.
Compared to Speck, like I said it's easy to take out. When I had a Speck candyshell on my HTC One X, I felt like I was going to break the One X anytime I needed to remove the case. This is essential as we have removable batteries and SD cards, so accessing the back is required.
Compared to Otterbox, it's thinner. The depth of this case is .49" measured with calipers.
I highly recommend this case. It looks very nice, feels great, thin and slides in and out of pockets. plus it comes with goodies like the screen protector and cleaning clothe. Along with the acrylic background, I plan on creating a Captain America Shield decal and using the blue area as the center of the decal.

Cons: Top and bottom parts of rubber are a little flimsy. But it makes it easy to hit the home button if you have big thumbs.
If anything goes wrong, I will update the OP.
EDIT: With the plastic backing, it's perfect to put a decal on.
Thanks for the pics...That's the best looking case I've seen so far on Pebble blue. Love how the grey blends with the front.

No problem. The great thing is that they're out now. Should be in best buys, T-Mobile stores, etc.
This blue one might be a T-Mobile exclusive since I could not find it anywhere else.
Do you have any pictures with the case on the actual phone? The pic you posted shows the camera not centered in the cut out, so I'm not sure if that's a real phone in the case or just a piece of cardboard .

It's just the cut out, but I posted the site and they have it around the phone. I can't take photos because well.... I'm taking the photos with my phone lol, unless if I do front cam in mirror.
Looks good! I might get Incipio Feather

So I went and compared this case with the Speck candy shell one. I'm sticking to Incipio.

From falls, acrylic is known to break. Speck Candyshell should be much stronger with the plastic material they are using. But it will protect for phone and get the job done. Plus there are some add on bonuses like the screen protector and clothe.
I chose it mainly because it looks the best, slides in and out of my pocket, and feels studry enough for my lifestyle. I work in a cubicle, not construction, trucking, etc.

Candyshell is very VERY hard to get on and off of the phone. Try and watch a video on how it attaches itself, the hard rubber and plastic are almost molded in together where is the incipio are two separate pieces.
So if you ever wanted to get your ext SD card out to transfer files, access your battery for battery pulls if you get a soft brick during flashing, the Speck will make it extremely difficult. I meant extremely. It feels like you are going to break your phone in half to get it off.
Thanks for the review.
I hope someone can do a side by side comparison/review of of the otterbox commuter and this.
After all that i've seen so far, i am down to choosing between the two for my needs.
Can't to seem to find the case with the colour in your photo on the website.. Hmm...
I thought I'd add to this thread since I have used the Incipio Silicrylic Dual Protection case on my new S3 over a busy weekend. After three days of use, these are my impressions:
PROS
Slim styling adds minimal bulk, while the two-piece design adds protection while adding sophisticated styling details
Excellent side-button covers give an accurate tactile feel to the on/off and volume toggle switches on the side of device - I can feel the case itself click with the button!
Smart, well-centered cutouts for all ports, camera lenses, etc. with no exposed plastic edges (all rubber or rubber-lined)
Nice - almost "rubberized" - feel to the plastic outer case with an almost aluminum look - so it feels AND looks sharp
The blue teal color is unique - Incipio doesn't offer it on their website, so it's probably a T-Mo exclusive (I picked mine up in a T-Mo store). And, uncannily, it just happens to be a perfect match for my VAIO EB "Iridescent Blue" notebook PC - not intended but a pleasant surprise that likely no one without an iridescent blue VAIO will likely care about.
CONS
Poor implementation of clear acetate screen protector - first, only one is included. Although the surface of the S3 is only subtly convex, it is enough for the edges of the screen protector to separate and float above the corners of the device. Additionally, the edges of the rubber shell will overlap some of the acetate screen saver, further "nudging" it off the screen.
Extra screen protectors are surprisingly unavailable from Incipio as a separate purchase
Minor point - extra outer or inner shells unavailable, so mixing colors is not an option (I'd think that would be a revenue generator for Incipio since the two-piece stylish design lends itself to some fun mix-and-matches)
CONCLUSION
In all, this is the best case I've had for a smart phone yet. Since the S3 - like the other Samsung S-series smart phones - uses Gorilla Glass, the value of the screen protector is questionable, but my Samsung S (Vibrant) was showing microscratches after 20 months of in-and-out-of-pocket use despite Corning's claims. If anyone has figured out how to use the screen protector, I'd like to know about it. Perhaps a slightly larger screen protector from another manufacturer (a true edge-to-edge) would work better with the Incipio shell.

No. It is thin. I sent mine back because it was so slippery in the hand, I felt I was at a greater chance to drop the device WITH the case on rather than without it. It felt like it was covered in baby powder or talc or something.

Wow - that is definitely not my experience. I have the Silicrylic DualPro but not the DualPro Shine - in case that makes a difference..
Looks a great case
I went and bought this case earlier. i will upload a few pics when the camera is charged. My case isn't as blue as the op's case though but it has the same sku on the back. I think it may be the lighting as mine's more of a teal color. Still a cool color though.
is the rubber part flexible easily on the sides once the hard case is on?
that was a problem with other incipio silicrylic cases. the rubber would move in your pocket cause it was too lose and lint/dust would get trapped between the case and the rubber.
i hope the response is that "it's nice and tight"
im really looking into buying this case.

It's not sloppy loose but it's not as tight as say the "body glove dimensions" case either. But then again, it's a different material. While the body glove it really tuff, this is really smooth. I like this one better.
Incipio SILICRYLIC in blue exclusively for T-Mobile USA.
The case is very, very nice. The soft material is very comfortable and a joy to grip. The plastic is also a great "soft" feeling material. I've jumped through 4 premium cases so far and this is by far the best one for what I want in a case. The only thing that stopped me from buying this in the 1st place, was the colors available on the Incipio site. The color of this one is more of a metallic teal than the blue that it looks in the pictures. I'd rather have the blue, but the teal is very attractive in person.
The case is $30 at T-Mobile (I snagged it for like $23). I would've payed the $30 though no problem. Cause I feel the case is way better than some that are priced higher.
The main thing about this case - It's easy to take off so I can swap batteries. This is a must for me as I've tried it with the speck case, the body glove dimensions and the case-mate barely there and this is by far the easiest to take off.
When it comes to protection, this is number 1 from the ones I've tried. And that includes the speck candy shell. The reason this beats the speck? Cause you seriously run a risk of cracking the gs3 screen while trying to remove it from the speck. And there should be no reason that a case, can make you risk breaking your phone while trying to do a simple task like removing it.
Some say "use a tool to remove the speck". Nah, I'll pass. If the 10 tools that I use daily for other jobs (fingers), can't remove the case, then the case is a p.o.s.
If the phone falls in this case, it has just as much of a survival rate as that of the candy shell, if not more... I have dropped phones from waist high with a Incipio feather on it and it didn't have a mark on it (gs2). I'm pretty sure that this case can do better. The candy shell, though it has a hard and soft material, is a lot less shock absorbing than this. The reason is the specks "soft material", isn't nearly as soft as this Incipio case. And for that reason alone, I feel there's a risk of less shock absorption with it than this case.. Drop a rock and a sponge and tell me which one does better...
Here's the pics.

Ballistic Shell Gel users?

Hiya! I'm thinking about getting the Ballistic Shell Gel case, but basically no one has it (everyone flocks to the MAXX case, but I'm not taking the phone to Mt. Everest).

Things I'm concerned about:
1) Can you hit the home button/capacitive-buttons/letters-near-he-edge-of-the-screen easily? It looks close and they didn't make a cutout for the home button like in other cases.
2) Does it attract lint? A black Seidio Active looked gray on a YouTube vid because of all the lint.
Or any recommendations for a case that is not slippery, easy to hit buttons (point #1 and "satisfying" click for volume/power), and doesn't attract lint, while also giving a good amount of protection?
I have a knock off and it's great paid $14
Hmm looks like the same case as this one for $9.00 http://www.amazon.com/CrazyOnDigita...k-Black/dp/tech-data/B00805SDO2/ref=de_a_smtd there's a purple version of this on Amazon as well. I bought a different version for my phone though, http://www.amazon.com/CrazyOnDigita...1&sr=8-3&keywords=crazy+on+digital+armor+case the volume and power buttons are very easy to press but at the same time recessed enough where they won't be accidentally pressed. The hard plastic "cage" is a bit slippery, I've been thinking of taking so sandpaper to it to roughen it up a bit, the rubber part does attract a bit of debris but nothing major. Hope that helps.
I have the SG MAXX but it is essentially the same casebother than the screen protector and holster. The buttons are a bit close to the side but after a little you will get used to it. All other buttons are extremely easy to hit and the corners just look rugged as hell. Its a great case. Dont think you'll be disappointed.
Awesome! Thanks, guys. I was about to purchase one of the CrazyOn cases (the first one you linked) and then I read the stock USB charger didn't fit and that kind of turned me off generic cases. And I couldn't find their website for those cases, either, making it a little more weird.
But, good to know even the knock-off are durable.
@gaary
Oh, OK, thanks. I didn't know they were that similar. Very happy to hear about the buttons, I was getting worried. Sounds like my kind of case if it looks"rugged as hell." Do you know anything about lint sticking on the case?

EDIT: Sorry, the USB cut out on my armor case is large, don't know about the Explorer case.

You're always going to have lint problems with silicone, but I would say the lint stickage on this case is minimal, compared with some other cases I've had in the past that were lint supermagnets. One thing that I don't like is the screen protector, but since you're getting the SG, I think you'll be fine. Just compare the case with the Otterbox Commuter and you'll see that the Ballistic looks like it will take a fall better no matter where it lands, especially on the "Ballistic Corners."
When i first installed the case it bubbled up the edge of of my zagg hd screen protector. It does attract a little dust but is an easy clean. I dropped my S3 4 feet onto solid concrete (Sporting Kansas City match) and it landed on the corner bumper. Not a scratch. I am thoroughly satisfied with mine.

I have a sg case and a sg maxx.... They are basically the same minus sp and holster as someone else stated. However the sg silicone is a little more flimsy than the silicon on the maxx.... It also fits in the holster that comes with the maxx but has a little play.... But I rocked it that way today and it seems to hold it well enough. The polycarbonate shell is exactly the same on both models.... It's only the silicone that differs some.

i have normal SG case, and am loving it. fits very well, and seems very protective. not too bad as far as lint goes. the capacitive buttons are no problem to access and the physical buttons that are covered by the silicon are very responsive.
only one minor nitpick-- i was using a wet-apply screen protector and after a few days the case started pulling the corners up. i hope to solve this with an sgp ultra nano which should arrive shortly
all in all it's a great case. it provides excellent protection and is extremely high quality. the one caveat (and this is common to such cases) is that you'll want a dry application screen protector, if you choose to use one.

Well, he was the deciding factor.
Just placed an order for the Shell Gel. These forums rock; with 10 million people with this phone, we are going to have a ripe little community.
Thanks for the lint info. I got blue because hopefully lint won't show up as readily, I like blue, it goes better with white, and I can pretend to be a UK fan, haha.
I played with the SG at Sam's Club and thought the quality of it was terrible. It didn't have clean edges on the silicon and for some reason, the hard shell stopped before the power button.

Packaging:
Nothing special, plastic box shipped inside a plastic bagvelope (bag/envelope) The box it comes in is much easier to open from the bottom than the top, learn from my mistake. No fancy packaging here, the case slides around inside the box a bit. Nothing inside the box but the case...no screen protector, no cleaning cloth, no fancy color brochure showing other products the company makes, nothing. In my opinion, $30 is a steep price to pay for a case so to see the case flopping around in it's box and no extras at all included with the case was kind of a let down.
Fit and finish:
When I first grabbed the case out of the box my very first thought was "oh boy, feels kinda slippery." I got the Garnet Red version, planned on getting the limited edition Gloss White when it becomes available...more on that later. The case is lined with a black felt material on the inside part of the back wall to protect the battery cover from getting scratched during installation/removal, might even add a little shock protection as well. Sliding the case on to the phone one thing I noticed is that the front edges do infact put a little pressure on the sides of the face of the phone, this is notable because those of you who have a wet application screen protector or other full face protection like the Moshi iVisor or any one of the curved full face protectors may have a little problem getting this care to play nicely with it. I think a wet application would be fine so long as it's fully cured before you go putting this case on and as long as you are careful when installing it...making sure it's not pulling up the protector as you go. The case slides on and locks in place to itself thanks to a little tab built in on it's inner wall on the back. Getting it off can be tricky, especially if you have an aftermarket, non-stock battery cover on like I found out. I highly advise not using the case with anything other than the stock battery cover. I had my white carbon fiber cover on which seemingly added no extra bulk but apparently the tiny little bit it did add made it next to impossible to remove the case. I ended up using brute strength to get it apart and luckily avoided causing any damage to it or it's locking mechanism. Putting the stock battery cover on made things much easier. Helpful hint, when trying to remove it, press down on the raised part in the back when squeezing the top part of the case on the sides.
With the case installed I noticed that the fit was so snug that there was no daylight at all between the face of the phone and the edge of the case, a good thing. The cutouts are all spot on but the bottom mic opening wasn't quite centered. There are no overlays over the buttons so they are easily accessible and engaged. Those openings are beveled/tapered to allow unobstructed access to the buttons...no need to tactically attempt to press the buttons, you just press them as you would normally as the case does not get in the way. The color I chose, Garnet Red, has a metallic sheen to it and is very easy on the eyes however it lacks grip. Holding the phone, it's not as bulky as I thought it would be, but it's not as easy to hold on to either. The finish is very slippery so make sure you have a firm grip on it. This is the first case I've had on this phone that requires you to stick your pinky out while you're holding the phone to ensure it doesn't slide down. Very disappointed. The design of the case does provide a front side lip, allowing you to set the phone face down with no worry of causing damage to the screen.
Final thought:
While the case looks nice, fits like a glove and allows easy access to all ports and buttons, it is very slippery to hold and can be a problem depending on what type of screen protector you're using. The locking mechanism is a nice touch but be aware if using an aftermarket, non-stock battery cover as it can make the case nearly impossible to remove. Am I going to order the limited edition Gloss White when it comes out? It'll surely have better grip but i'm not that in love with this case to say for sure.
I have the Seidio surface in blue and I do not find the case to be slippery it has a lot more grip than the stock battery door. The finish is a soft touch finish that does not show fingerprints.
Here are some photos and I have a full review up to.
from my AOKP galaxy s3
Grip is not a strong point of this case by any stretch of the imagination. It's coming off as soon as my TPU bumper arrives. The finish on this case is pretty much identical to that on the Incipio Silicrylic Dual Pro, the difference being the silicone sleeve which gives you the good grip. I like everything about this case except for the lack of grip and how it limits what screen protectors you can use with it.

Just trying to find "the one". The SGP Neo Hybrid is on my radar. Not really sure there's any others I really want to try out right now.
I have the platinum series which is pretty much this case with the holster. I have had it for my past three phones but am on the by bubble with this one. I have to agree that this case is more slippery then I remember my past cases to be. Because of that (and the fact that I dropped my OG Evo with his case on and the Efren shattered ) I am looking for another case. Thinking of getting an otterbox. Need something with good screen protection and a holster.

Yes sir
Alright guys, today was my first day out in the wild with this case and I have discovered something......moist hands = good grip with this case! Normally my hands are dry, no sweaty palms for me....but its pretty warm out today and I wear nitrile gloves alot during the day which cause my hands to sweat badly. So after removing my gloves and patting them dry I picked up my phone to take a few pics and I noticed it wasnt sliding in my hand. Figuring it was the moist hand I was holding it with I turned on the AC to dry my hand completely and sure enough, the slipperyness was back.
So those of you with sweaty palms, this is your case!
