[WINDOWS APP] Kies 2.0 Registry Patcher 1.8.0.0, patch registry on latest Kies - Galaxy S I9000 Themes and Apps

This tool is was designed in order to easily patch the registry to force Kies to update your Galaxy S.
This latest version of patcher works even with latest Kies (2.0.0.11014_49_2), all you have to do is to spoof your firmware version to and older one, you can even spoof the product code in order to change it.
The new spoof system works differently from the older patching system, it allow you to use the original dll of kies and works on latest Kies; It should even be future-proof.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
Patcher Version 1.8 doesn't fully work yet.
When I built it i only partially tested. I stopped where it notified me the update were available (because i didn't need an update and i was sure it were like Kies 1.x
After my release i noticed the complaint and i tested it fully, sadly something is missing so the patcher can't be used to fully work with Kies 2.0 yet. Sorry, i'll try to sort it out...
VERSIONS:
Patcher Version 1.7 works with Kies 1.x, while Version 1.8 works from 2.0
PRELIMINARY NOTE:
[WARNING!] Do Not flash Any ROM (firmware) until you can get the 3 buttons DOWNLOAD MODE working, even with this Kies trick.
If you want to test the 3 buttons download mode then notice that you can switch back to normal mode by pulling the battery out and then back in. At the next boot the phone will be back in normal mode.
LAGFIX USERS:
[WARNING!] Remember to disable lagfix before to update.
This will avoid filesystem errors that may occurs at the boot of the new flashed firmware.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Download latest Kies Registry Patcher, tool is attachment. Note: It require Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 or later version.
2) Update Kies to 2.0.0.11014_49_2.
3) Launch Kies Registry Patcher; If you patched the dll in the past with an older version of the patcher then be sure to launch new release as administrator since it have to revert the dll to the original version as the patch isn't needed anymore (Right click on application > Run as Administrator).
4) Launch Kies and connect your phone; Wait for Kies to recognize it properly.
5) You have 2 possibilities now:
5a) Drop down the combo-box "Spoof Product Code as" and select the wanted one. It should automatically fill the "Spoof Software Revision as" textbox with the needed data necessary to find your update.
This feature was added in order to give all the opportunity to use the needed product code. (Special thanks to MCOGW that shared with me his database of product codes/sw revisions).
The label above will be completed with the country related to the chosen product code.
5b) From patcher select:
File > Load Backup
Open the backup that you want to use (e.g. kies-backup-XEU.xml if you want to spoof your phone as XEU, or if your phone is XEU yet and you want to flash it again).
6) From patcher answer "YES" in order to apply the registry update.
7) From Kies you can now update as normal.
====================================================================================================
Note #1:
Remeber that this patch will remain ACTIVE until you set "Enable Spoof" field to False!
It's not a problem but ater you update the phone it's suggested to put that value to false so the patch become inactive.
====================================================================================================
Note #2:
You can play with Advanced settings but those are experimental/untested, so make sure you know what you're doing.
====================================================================================================
1.3.1.0 Update:
- Window 64bit compatibility added.
- You can now update disabling Battery Charge check: Beware, do not update with a very low battery charge level.
- Sha1 evaluation of dll to patch in order to be sure of the version.
====================================================================================================
1.4.0.0 Update:
- Fix in case more than 1 phone is found in registry.
- Removed Framework check cause it had a bug with framework4
- Ability to save Kies ROM when you update your phone (in order to use with Odin or in local mode). [See Note#1]
- Added Local folder textbox in order to specify your saved ROM
- Added management of FotaTest.
====================================================================================================
1.5.0.0 Update:
A new registry patching system has been introduced.
It doesn't need to patch Kies dll anymore and it should be future proof.
Note:
Product Code Spoof have to be last 3 letters only of product code (e.g. ITV for italian product code, XEU for European, etc...).
====================================================================================================
1.6.0.0 Update:
I added to the tool a database of product codes/sw revisions (credits goes to MCOGW that shared with me his db).
====================================================================================================
1.7.0.0 Update:
Added Registry Menu.
Registry > Erase Registry option give you the opportunity to erase DeviceDB registry Key to delete bad settings and so avoiding patcher to work in a possible wrong folder.
Use it only in case of problems (when you follow the guide but you still receive the message that no update is still available for your phone).
Added a component to browse for folders where needed.
====================================================================================================
SPECIAL FUNCTIONS:
1) SAVE A KIES ROM:
You can save a Kies ROM only during a flash update. So, wait for the download from server to be complete (follow the progress in Kies) once the download is complete the rom will be decompressed. After that your phone will be send in download mode and the flash process begin. You have like 2,5 minutes in order to click on: "ROM > Save Rom", don't worry, saving will take like 5 seconds so don't rush, you have a lot of time ;-)
====================================================================================================
2) UPDATE FROM A LOCAL KIES ROM:
You can update your phone using your local files:
You can use the files you saved during your previous update sessions (see point (1)) or download any Kies Rom on XDA.
You have to put these 4 files in a folder (you can use any name for the folder):
0_XXXXXXXXXX.tar
1_csc_dummy.tar
2_phone_dummy.tar
3_contents_dummy.tar
XXXXXXXXXX is your Kies Rom, rename it putting a "0_" in front of the name.
download the dummy files from the attachment or create your own ones (those a just 0' bytes files).
SS_DL.dll isn't used by Galaxy S so you can delete it.
Open the patcher and select:
Enable Local Test > True
Local Binary ZipFolder Path > Put the folder where you keep your local Rom (e.g. c:\MyLocalKiesRom ), the path must NOT end with "\".
Write registry to save the configuration.
Disconnect the ethernet cable (you have to avoid samsung server to answer).
Open Kies and Update as normal.
====================================================================================================
3) DISABLE BATTERY CHARGE CHECK:
You can update even if your battery isn't fully charged.
Actually Kies check that your battery charge is at least 50% before to continue, but if you don't want to wait and you have enough charge (like 20%) you can disable the battery check and update as normal.
Open the patcher and select:
ADVANCED 1 > Enable Battery Charge Check > False
Write registry to save the configuration.
====================================================================================================

You Legend. Thanks. Will save loads of messing about. Good job.

No Luck In Canada
I tried the fix with no luck... I currently have JH2 and kies 1.5.3.10103.100.
- Without the fix I get a message saying "latest version already installed"
- With the fix I get a message saying "version JF3 cannot be updated"
It was worth a shot though...

@seagryphon:
what backup did u selected?
You have to use the right combinations of informations or you won't find any firmware in samsung server!

Hey Nodial,
I tried "kies-backup-XEU" without modifying what you had in there.

i just done
GREAT JOB...

okay, I figured out the problem... In Canada the the version I got from Bell is I9000M. If I change the registry setting to remove the "M" in the Model name I get the option to upgrade to JPO.
My question is has anyone from Canada tried this? Will the JPO version be compatable with I9000M?

Nice, i didn't even knew bout that difference!
A new version is coming, it will allow you to flash without battery charge check.

1.3.1.0 update. See first post for change log.

Hello, thanks for the app.
But i have some trouble launching it, I tried on 3 different computers (1 win7 and 2 winXP) all with the latest net framework installed but the prog keeps telling me it needs version 3.5 or higher to work.
It sounds really strange to me. Hope you can help

I'm releasing a new version today cause i've added some new tricks.
Ok, i'll disable the framework check as it seems it's bugged for .net 4

Thanks
Nice works

Just waiting for the new version to give it a try. Thanks

1.4.0.0 update. See first post for change log.

doesn't seem to work for me.
Loaded the XEU file, patched the reg and DLL but when i connect the phone it still says its up to date.
god damned vodafone sent an update to my phone last night to add in vodafone crap. phone is even slower now and dying to get standard froyo on it

It could happen on 1.3 if more than 1 phone folder is found and the wrong one is used.
This is fixed on 1.4, have u tested it?

It was 1.4 I tried.
So I tried with 1.3.1. Same result.
Any idea's? I could be missing a step

Did it work for you in canada with a gt-i9000m?

@-l-Z3K3-l-
- Open the patcher, patch the dll if you haven't done it yet (Use last Kies version).
- Open Kies, let it recognize the phone.
- Load a backup! You have to use the XEU one or your own data for your phone model! You need to seek the info in internet, i jusy know the lower version of ITV and XEU.
- Write the registry
- Update using Kies.
@mayo1973
Yes, it works will all Phones, the only problem is the settings are different for each region. You have to seek the right one for your model.
Would be nice to collect them here if someone have some other region settings to share.

[Tutorial] Unlock your phone; prevent relock & prepare for updates!

@ Mods: I read the tutorials here on how to unlock Windows Phone 7 but most of the time I felt like there's missing some information. I know that there are already a lot of tutorials and guides but I thought it would be good to collect it a bit. If this thread is inappropriate feel free to remove it
-
Unlock your phone
[Developer unlock; ChevronWP7; Application Deployment]
1. Check the OS version of your phone
First step is to check which OS version your phone is running as ChevronWP7 doesn't work with NoDo (or higher) update installed on your phone. Just take a look at the following page on your phone: settings > about > more information.
7.0.7004 = compatible with ChevronWP7 | No updates installed; OS version when Windows Phone 7 was launched
7.0.7008 = compatible with ChevronWP7 | Pre-NoDo update installed
7.0.7390 = not compatible with ChevronWP7 | NoDo update installed
7.0.7392 = not compatible with ChevronWP7 | NoDo update installed; certificate update for security improvement installed
7.0.7401 = not compatible with ChevronWP7 | Pre-Mango update (BETA! NOT OFFICIALLY AVAILABLE YET!) installed
7.0.7661 = not compatible with ChevronWP7 | Mango update (BETA v1! NOT OFFICIALLY AVAILABLE YET!) installed
7.10.7712 = not compatible with ChevronWP7 | Mango update (BETA v2! NOT OFFICIALLY AVAILABLE YET!) installed
7.10.7720 = not compatible with ChevronWP7 | Mango update (FINAL - FOR DEVELOPERS ONLY! NOT OFFICIALLY AVAILABLE YET!) installed
If your phone is running an imcompatible version you've to flash a ROM which hasn't got NoDo installed. Take a look at xda-developers | Forums and scroll down to your device. Enter the development section and search for a flash guide and a machting ROM file. I can't explain the process more exactly as it depends on your phone model.
2. Install Zune software
If you don't already have the Zune software on your computer, follow this link and install it: zune.net
3. Add registry entry
Now you have to add a entry to your Windows registry. ChevronWP7 will need this entry to connect to your phone. There are several methods - use only one!
Method 1:
Install Windows Phone Developer Tools RTW. The entry will automatically be added.
The setup is enourmously big but later you'll need it anyway! So I really advise you to choose this method!
Method 2:
Download this .reg-file to your hard drive and execute it. Click "Yes" in the first popup and "OK" in the second one - the entry is now added.
Method 3:
Add the entry manual: Open up the registry editor (Command: regedit.exe | Default path: "C:\Windows\regedit.exe"). Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsPhone\ProxyPorts. If the folder/key doesn't exist yet, create it. Search for the entry DeviceReg. Create it if it doesn't exist: It's a 32-bit DWORD called "DeviceReg" with this data in it:
Hexadecimal: 69c5
Decimal: 27077
4. Check "hosts" file for "developerservices.windowsphone.com" entries
Now it's best to also edit the "hosts" file. Here's what you've to do:
Open up "Notepad" (Start - All Programs - Accessories - Notepad) - It's best to right click it and press "Run as administrator" in the menu. Else it could happen that you don't have the permission to edit the file. Then click on File > Open. Now copy this line:
%windir%\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
and paste it in the line file name. Then just hit the enter key.
Now search for lines which contain developerservices.windowsphone.com. If you find such lines just remove them entirely. Finally press File > Save.
5. Install certificate on phone
Next step is to install the certificate from ChevronWP7 on your phone. The easiest way is to open up the browser on your device and type this URL into the adress bar:
db.tt/fFwKQIy
Consider the use of capitals and small initials letter!
(You don't have to install this on your computer)
After you opened the page you can see a big shield. Under the symbol there's a message saying "Press to open the file ChevronWP7.cer". Follow this instruction and confirm with install and ok.
6. Download and run ChevronWP7
To get the unlock tool follow this link and save the ChevronWP7.exe file somewhere on your hard disk. Now do the following steps:
- Connect your phone to the computer
- Wait for Zune to start up (If it doesn't start up, open it manually)
- In Zune click on the tab phone
- There you have to pay attention to two things:
- If Zune is syncing files to or from your phone just wait until it's finished
- Now check the relationship between Zune and your phone. If you can read something about a guest relationship you've to click on "Change Sync Relationship" and follow the instructions to get a full relationship.
- Keep sure that the device stays on the homescreen (where the live tiles are) for the next steps - the lockscreen mustn't be active! [Just touch the display and scroll up and down every few seconds to avoid this.]
- Run the downloaded ChevronWP7.exe and check the two boxes:
Ensure your phone isn't PIN-locked
Install certificate on phone using Internet Explorer at "http://www.chevronwp7.com/cert"
- Now finally click on the Unlock button - The button turns into Relock which means that your device is unlocked now. If this didn't work for you - with an error message coming up on your screen - try this:
Instead of using the latest version of Zune, try an older version. Here's a link where you can download version 4.7.01: Zune v4.701
Don't click the Relock button now! Just close ChevronWP7.
Leave Zune running in the background as we'll need it again in a few minutes.
Don't disconnect your device now! Continue with step 7 or your device will relock itself the next time you connect it and Zune identifies it.
7. Keep your phone unlocked
7.1 Install registry editor
As you can read above your device will be locked if you connect it again (Zune will identify your phone and lock it again). To prevent this we've to edit an entry of the phone registry:
First of all we need a registry editor for Windows Phone 7. Well, there's not a uniform way to edit registry on all devices (HTC, Samsung, ...), yet. So you have to search a registry editor which enables full registry access on your device. [I'll update this with some suggestions soon!] Then you've to open Start > All Programs > Windows Phone Developer Tools > Application Deployment on your computer. Select the downloaded .xap file (Registry Editor) and click on Deploy. Wait until the process is finished. Now disconnect your phone from the computer.
7.2 Modify the registry
Now open the Registry Editor on your phone. Now navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Microsoft > DeviceReg.
Now scroll to PortalUrlInt, remove its value data and save it. Do the same with PortalUrlProd. Both entries should now be "empty" (but not deleted!).
8. Installing updates
8.1 Pre-NoDo & NoDo update:
After you've followed the steps of my tutorial, you can install both the Pre-NoDo and the NoDo update without loosing the unlock.
8.2 Mango update:
There's already a BETA version of Mango out there which is intended for developers - but with some additional steps you can also install it without being a developer (and even without having a developer unlocked phone)! This update WILL REMOVE YOUR UNLOCK AND DISABLE THE USE OF HOMEBREW APPS! -> You won't be able to sideload apps anymore and you won't be able to use tools like registry editors and file explorers! Basically, if you want Mango update + jailbreak you've to prepare your phone while running NoDo (or earlier). To explain the process shortly: There are official apps which read out files information and apply changes to the phones registry. Just imagine a connection managing application which has got one file for every single provider containing informations like APN, Passwords, ... . Okay, so while you're on NoDo you can add your own files to this application - but these ones won't contain information about a provider. Instead they'll tell your phone to change several registry entries. And example would be the "Connection setup" app for HTC devices. People can add a .provxml file to the app. Then they update to Mango with loosing the developer unlock but not the file. On Mango they open up the "Connection setup" (<- You have to use this official tool - sideloaded apps won't work at that time as you're not developer unlocked yet) and can see the entry of the .provxml: There will be several networks to choose from (e.g. "T-Mobile", "Vodafone", ...) and also a entry called something like "Developer unlock". Well, this is because of the .provxml file. Then you just have to choose and run this file and the changes will apply - your phone is unlocked again! Just search and you'll find much tutorials here on how to use provxml method on HTC, Samsung, ... devices. I unlocked my Omnia 7 running Mango BETA v2 using this method.

Wow, you're done! Now you can connect your device to your computer without loosing the unlock.
I'll try to always improve this tutorial and keep it up to date
Please click on "Thanks" if it helped you!
Please tell me if you find something disordered or mistakes. And please be kind as this is my first tutorial Thanks
Excellent. I think this combines everything that was missing from other tutorials, and it is very thorough.
I'm inspired to flash my Focus and unlock it (my old one bricked).
You should add some recommended apps for post-unlock. AccentChanger, Battery Meter, Ringtone installers, Screen Capture, etc.
Thanks And my english doesn't sound too crappy?
Much luck with your Focus

Ok. So installed Nodo on my phone a whiile ago. Carrier stock att. Is there a way for me to downgrade and install the chevron? CUz I dont think i can downgrade.
We need to know what phone model you have (HTC HD7 for example)
i have the HTC 7 Pro with 7.0.7392 OS. i hate now to not unlock my foon!!!!!
Aren't there old ROM files for HTC 7 Pro out there?
what?/ can i install a old rom on my foon??
Did you even read my tutorial? It says that you should look into the development section of your phone here on xda-developers. There are ROMs so I think there's also a way to flash them
I bought on ebay a Omnia 7, how do i know if the person who sold me made de unlock with the ChevronWP7...is there any way to see on the phone if the ChevronWP7 is apllied.
Thanks for your great tutorial.
First of all you've to look if there's homebrew installed on the phone. Something like 'Registry editor' for example. If not I guess the easiest way is to try to deploy an app to the phone. If it works it's unlocked, if not it is locked. And if Zune tells you to update: Don't do it until you followed my tutorial

I checked in my phone and i already have the 7.0.7392.0 version installed.
So now i have to downgrade to the 7.0.7004 version, install the ChevronWP7, and then i can update with zune to the last version that i still be unlocked, is that correct?
Thanks
Correct
the link to chevronwp7.exe does not work. can you have a look at it.

Latest Kies 2.0.2.11071_128 Don't Show Samsung Apps

The latest kies update to version Kies 2.0.2.11071_128 dated 02 August 2011 don't include Samsung Apps.
Has anyone updated his/her kies on pc and observed same missing Samsung Apps Store? Could this be an
error on the part of Samsung? Or maybe the Apps store no longer will show for bada 1.2?
I tested with bada 1.2. Maybe bada 1.2 will no longer be supported (but we still have a long way to reach September )
Anyone with bada 2.0 and who has updated to Kies 2.0.2.11071_128
should please report if the the store show up when WAVE is connected to kies on pc.
It is a bug in kies for sure
i hate Samsung for these awful mistakes
remember the kies version which was able to open Samsung apps but can't install apps
Samsung is not the best software maker
Let's hope for an urgent quick update fixing this
Best Regards
I also noticed that each time that you launch kies,
the option in Memory order is always set to "Use internal memory first"
even though you have previously set it to "Use external memory first"
same here, after the update, Samsung Apps panel is not shown on Kies.
I think it is a bug on this version.
The solution
the solution for this bug is in this link :

For me, when my Wave with XPKG6 is connected, it works.

on the same page i have given another solution, other than simonwill,
the trick is..
1. install the immediate previous version of kies..(previous to kies ver 2.0.2.11071_128) or whatever version u were working on..b4 updating to "2.0.2.11071_128"
2. go to run -> regedit -> HKEY_CURRENT_USER -> software -> samsung -> Kies2.0(select it)
3. in the right hand window, look for Localver, right click on it, click on modify.
4. replace the whole value with this one "2.0.2.11071_128" (without the quotes)
5. open kies again, go to samsungapps normally, it wont ask u to upgrade to newer version so SAMSUNG FOOLED
this works like a charm
can someone upload the "Astore" and "StoreLib"
Kies.Common.StoreManager.dll
files here?
Here you go kadavil : http://www.mediafire.com/?w2ywwtqhymj06pb
The problem with the latest Kies 2.0.2.11071_128 not having the Samsung Apps store is as a result of either a corrupt "AStorePlugin.dll" or a wrong value assigned to this dll. The problem is only with the "AStorePlugin.dll".
To solve this problem, simply install the latest kies (either as a fresh install or an update over existing kies instalation. Restart PC.
1. Now go to Program Files\SAMSUNG\Kies\Plugins\AStore...
(a) inside the AStore folder, replace the "AStorePlugin.dll" with the one from the download link below (or from any previous kies installation)
NOTE: ONLY REPLACE the "AStorePlugin.dll" of size approx 4,014kb.
(Don't replace the small one of size about 4kb).
3. That's all. Now you can enjoy your new Kies 2.0.2.11071_128.

Thats the best solution @ spacsk
100% working!!!!!
thanks mylove90 and spacks!
Thanks a lot... Its working...

The above method works fine. But it displays the apps store with the old UI.
Another method to use the new kies and have the latest apps store UI is to modify region in registry. Do it this way.
1. From windows command, enter regedit.
2. Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER => Software => SAMSUNG =>
3. Now double-click folder "Kies2.0" .
4. On right-hand side of window, under Name column, look for "Region" (5th from
bottom)
5. Right-click on "Region" and select "Modify". Change the current region US to yours (or change to) UK.
6. That's all. The new kies will work 100% with the latest samsung apps store UI.
NB: Please see screenshot below for ref.

If you use Windows 7, just click on "Start" , on the search bar that appears, write "regedit" (without quotes), and press enter. You will be promted to a "Yes" or "No" option. Click Yes to go to the registry editor.
Once the registry opens, then continue from nº 2 of the instructions above.
NB: Please with this registry edit, you don't need to replace any AStore dll. Just install the latest kies, and in registry, change region from "US" to "UK". That's all.
NB!: If you use Windows XP, you will have to enter "cmd" first at Windows Start button, then "regedit", etc. (I hope I'm correct; it's long time now I haven't used an XP machine )
Thanks spacks, that worked like magic !

The above method works fine. But it displays the apps store with the old UI.
Another method to use the new kies and have the latest apps store UI is to modify region in registry. Do it this way.
1. From windows command, enter regedit.
2. Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER => Software => SAMSUNG =>

Right, US has no store xD
Thank you so much
Yes, maybe the corrupt AStore.dll is wrongly installing US as region by default. Let's hope Samsung will correct this error soon to prevent innocent people from messing up their pc registry.
Thanks.

Kies, disable Autoupdate... customize, hack... remove

I'm not using often Kies. But ever I want short test something...
Kies will update some crap...
This costs time...
How to prevent stupid Updates?
Thanx.
Best Regards
To prevent Kies from updating You hve to edit with regedit "LocalVer" key in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Samsung\Kies2.0, and just set it to higher version.
To prevent Samsung Apps plugin from updating You could cut off " <ServerURL>http://msupdate.emodio.com</ServerURL> " form AStorePlugin.xml which is located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Samsung\Kies\Plugins\AStore.
Also, You can block update servers in hosts file.
After last annoying surprise with appstore Plugin...
I've realized that you can remove plugins...
I use Kies ONLY for App Installation... as no alternate way via PC for bada 2...
Anyway...
If I rename
C:\Programme\Samsung\Kies\Plugins\PodcastService
into
C:\Programme\Samsung\Kies\Plugins\1PodcastService
And 2 other Pod folders...
Then see Screenshots.
WARNING!
No sideeffects known.
Maybe faster Kies start... maybe we should check few files...
Best Regards
Edit 1.
8 folders "renamed":
Code:
1MusicManager
1MusicStore
1Phonebook
1PhotoManager
1Podcast
1Podcaster
1PodcastService
1VideoManager
Result is last Pic...
Kies seems now faster start.
No sideffects seen. BUT at your own risk.
But the problem is even if you can disable kies update with registry, when you want to open samsung apps plugin, if there is an update available you cannot get that upload because of registry fixes so you cannot even use it for app installation
I've tried all ways, they only work if you dont need samsung apps plugin
Here's the sniffing log when opening kies
you can open it via "Wireshark"
look at line 10
line 25
line 45 is for samsung apps plugin update check

ZTE U950 - Root, Recovery, ROM (& Google Play)

I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY NEGATIVE IMPACTS OR CONSEQUENCES ON YOUR PHONE IF YOU SO CHOOSE TO USE THIS GUIDE.
I own the ZTE U950 and had realized that there is very little information (in English) on how to do anything beyond stock for this incredible phone. After hours of research and translation I was able to figure out everything needed to get this phone to a "better" state. Since then I - and other XDA members - have been trying to keep the ZTE U950 alive...
ZTE U950 SPECS
NVIDIA TEGRA 3 (1.3MHz)
1GB RAM
4.3" Display (480x800)
5MP Front Camera/0.3MP Back Camera
Android OS 4.0.4
DRIVERS
Here are the "Join Me" drivers so that your PC can recognize the ZTE U950.
KERNEL
Stock - This is the stock kernel's source file.
Custom - This is a custom kernel for stock ROMs that can be OC'd to 2.5GHz.
ROOT
1) Make sure you have USB Debugging Mode and Unknown Sources checked in your phone Settings.
2) Connect your phone to your PC.
3) Download and open Genotools.
4) The program will open, click the 4th tab (last tab on the right).
5) Ensure that your phone is plugged into your PC.
6) Click the 2nd ROOT button.
7) A popup window will appear, press OK.
8) Your phone will then have a popup window, click the "Restore My Data" option.
9) The phone will restart several times, leave it for a few minutes.
10) This is the odd part... The phone will likely not stop restarting, and when you try to click the unlock key for the screen, it will automatically restart. Disconnect the phone. It should continue to restart.
11) Force the phone off.
12) Restart the phone.
13) If you have SuperUser, you are then rooted. If not, repeat these steps.
ROOT - NEW VERSION #1 (UNTESTED!):
1) Download the file here.
2) The instructions read verbatim are, "1 If your phone is not acquired before the ROOT privileges, we choose 1 root [next line] 2 after enter". Which I assume means click root, then enter...
ROOT - NEW VERSION #2 (UNTESTED!):
1) Download the root kit here made for the ZTE U950 (it uses the Chinese recovery), and extract to your desktop.
2) On your phone, go into Settings and enable USB Debugging under Developer options.
3) Connect the phone to your PC (Windows OS should fail to recognize the device).
4) Run either DrvInst_x64.exe or DrvInst_x86.exe. If you are unsure what you have, run both, the wrong one will fail with an error message.
5) After installation, unplug and replug your phone.
6) Go into Device Manager. You should be able to see a "ZTE TD Handset ADB Interface" under the "Android Phone" section. If you don't, reinstall the drivers again.
7). To root, simply run the U950_Root.bat file, and follow the instructions.
RECOVERY (CWM/TWRP)
1) Download the Chinese CWM or English TWRP recovery.img and place it into the root folder of your external SD card.
2) Download a terminal emulator. (If you are unable to download one, use the APP TRICKS described near the bottom to install a terminal emulator onto your phone.)
3) Open the terminal emulator.
4) Type in "su" then hit the return button.
5) Now type in the following:
dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/platform/sdhci-tegra.3/by-name/SOS
(and press the return button)
6) There should be a few lines beginning with something like 14052 or 14272, if not, then the above input was not typed correctly. If so, the recovery should now be installed.
GET INTO RECOVERY
1) Turn the phone off.
2) Hold the Power button + Volume Down button. When the ZTE logo comes up, count two seconds and then let go of the buttons.
3) The phone will enter into recovery. Use the Volume rockers for up and down and the power button to choose (if on CWM), or simply touch the buttons (if on TWRP).
4) I will describe the standard processes here if using CWM - the menus are top-to-bottom on the phone, which are written left-to-right here:
The Main Menu:
[*] Reboot system now
[*] Select zip to flash/install
[*] Wipe data
[*] Wipe cache
[*] Backup and restore
[*] Flash memory/Format
[*] Advanced setting
[*] Turn off phone
The Zip Menu:
[*] Install from zip
[*] Install from internal

[*] Confirm wipe data
[*] Do not wipe data

CM10/.1 - HeatSka Edition
This should be listed under ROMS, but I felt that it needed its own section. Ska and I worked on this for quite some time getting all the kinks worked out. We did not create the original version of this unofficial Cyanogenmod port, but the original had many issues and was not maintained after its initial release. All the major problems have been worked out in our HeatSka edition.
The ROM was initially CM10 (4.1.2), but it has been mixed with files that list it as 4.2.2 (CM10.1) under the information section. In either case, it is Jelly Bean! Aside from the fixes we have implemented, there are also numerous tweaks and mods for UI speed, network speed, battery consumption, app installs, and much more. There is almost no theming, just enough to know that this is our enhanced (and better) variation.
The only known issue that may arise is CPU throttling. We have included an app called, "LGP880 Booster". This app will allow a CPU speed boost when turned on, with a temperature threshold to prevent overheating. If you wish to save battery, only enable this app when playing a game or using CPU-intensive apps.
DOWNLOAD: CM10.1/2 - HeatSka
FLASH A ROM
1) Download a ROM.
2) Place the ROM in the root of the phone's SD card.
3) Enter into recovery.
4) Wipe data.
5) Wipe cache.
NOTE: Wipe data and cache are the Factory Reset button in TWRP.
6) Follow the menus to get to the ROM in the SD card.
7) Click the power button to choose the ZIP if on CWM (or just push the designated button on TWRP).
8) The ROM is being flashed.
9) Follow the left arrow (the last selection) on the menus to get back to the main menu.
10) Choose the first option on the main menu to reboot on CWM (or click Reboot followed by System in TWRP).
NOTE I: The ROM will probably be in Chinese. Find the Settings icon and click it. Go down to the Language & Input setting and click it (there is a capital "A" next to it). Click the top setting and choose the desired language.
NOTE II: There may not be an English keyboard available, so download this 4.2 keyboard ZIP file and flash it in recovery.
INSTALL GOOGLE PLAY
1) Download and install a file explorer like ES Explorer (free) or Root Explorer (paid). (If the phone is unable to download a file explorer, use the APP TRICKS described near the bottom to install one onto the phone.)
2) Download and take the three files from the RAR file for Google Play and place them in a folder on the phone that can easily be reached with a file explorer.
3) Open up a file explorer.
4) Move the three files to the "/System/App" folder on the phone.
5) Give the three files each the same permissions (Read for all three groups, and Write for User).
6) Restart the phone and Google Play should now be installed.
Notes: a) There are cases where two Google Play store icons may appear. They should both work and not cause problems.
b) If the store does not show, redo the process above.
c) This trick does seem to work on other Android devices as I have successfully done this on a Galaxy Note N7000.
INSTALL FACTORY ROM
1) Download a Factory ROM from above and place the "update.zip" file in the root of your external SD card.
2) Go to Settings.
3) Go down to About Phone and click that.
4) Click on System Updates.
5) Remove the check mark.
6) Click OK.
7) The phone should restore to whichever factory update file was used.
APN FIX (MOBILE DATA FIX)
If your mobile data is not working then use this method to fix your APN:
1) Revert to stock ROM (or any custom ROM where mobile data does work).
2) Download and open a file explorer like Root Explorer or ES Explorer.
3) Go to /system/etc
4) Copy "apns-conf.xml".
5) Go to /sdcard/
6) Paste "apns-conf.xml".
7) Flash ROM.
8) Download a file explorer and open it.
9) Copy "apns-conf.xml".
10) Go to /system/etc
11) Paste "apns-conf.xml" (overwriting the existing file).
12) Reboot the phone.
13) Mobile data should now work.
GAME SUPPORT FOR ZTE U950 (WORKS ONLY FOR U950V1.0.0B02)
Note: I have not tested this. Apparently the first firmware version of this phone is not recognized by Google Play for certain Tegra games. If this occurs, try the following method.
1) Make a backup of the System folder. (It is easier to make a Backup of the entire ROM in recovery...)
2) Insert the build.prop file from this file.
3) Clear the Data for Google Play store (Settings > Apps > Google Play > Clear Data).
4) Reboot the phone.
5) When opening Google Play it should make give their agreement again. If it doesn't, then Data has not been cleared.
6) The rows modified in the build prop is as follows:
Desire ro.product.model = X
HTC ro.product.brand =
Desire ro.product.name = X
Desire ro.product.device = X
...
HTC ro.product.manufacturer =
AGAIN, I HAVE NOT TESTED THIS SO USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!
APP SUPPORT FOR ZTE U950
Note: Some apps will throw package errors after downloaded and then will not install. This method will help a lot of these errors from occurring. It doesn't work for all, but it will for some [tested with Dead Trigger 2].
1) Download this file.
2) Use a file explorer like ES Explorer (free) or Root Explorer (paid) and put com.google.android.maps.xml in /system/etc/permissions
3) Put com.google.android.maps.jar in /system/framework
4) Reboot the phone and now apps should install without issue.
DEAD TRIGGER 1
1) Enable graphics details to High in Setup/Others.
2) Exit the game.
3) Use a file explorer like ES Explorer (free) or Root Explorer (paid) and go to /data/data/com.madfingergames.deadtrigger/shared_prefs/
4) Edit the com.madfingergames.deadtrigger.xml file.
5) Change <int name=”UnityGraphicsQuality” value=”1″ /> to <int name=”UnityGraphicsQuality” value=”2″ />
6) Change <int name=”OptionsGraphicDetail” value=”2″ /> to <int name=”OptionsGraphicDetail” value=”3″ />
7) Save the com.madfingergames.deadtrigger.xml file.
8) Remove all write permission on User, Group and Other for the com.madfingergames.deadtrigger.xml file.
9) Delete the com.madfingergames.deadtrigger.xml.bak file.
Note: This technique works on any non-Tegra device.
APP TRICKS
If apps cannot be downloaded normally (from Google Play), this guide will show an alternative method on how to install them:
1) Download the necessary apk file online.
2) Open the 4.2LatinIme.zip with 7zip or WinRAR and delete the keyboard APK (or keep it if not installed yet).
3) While the ZIP is open go into "/Sytem/App" and place in it any APK you want installed.
4) Boot into recovery.
5) Flash the ZIP file.
6) Reboot and the app(s) should be installed.
Note: I have noticed that certain apps do not flash properly so an alternative APK needs to be downloaded. However, once you have the right apps to install Google Play, you should be able to download any apps from the store.
HARDWARE FIXES BY SKA
NOTE: Always work without the battery attached to the phone.
SIM Card No Longer Works
INFO: There is a diode which provides voltage to the SIM card. Somehow it has become loose, which disallows current to the SIM. Thus, the baseband cannot recognize the SIM card any longer.
FIX: The easiest way to fix and check something is to "re-flow" the PCB (printed circuit board). The modem soldering must be re-flowed in order to reconnect the loose diode and re-allow voltage back to the SIM card.
Touchscreen Not Displaying
Open up your phone. If you don't know how, then you won't be able to continue...
There are three connectors on the left soc side. Check the upper connector near the audio jack and try to seat with a pair of tweezers very gently.
There is a white line on every connector - apart from the battery connector - pull up straight. It must be exactly at the of the beginning of the brown clip when pulled downwards.
MISC
I have successfully paired this phone with a PS3 controller using Sixaxis. This is not unique to my phone as I have verified that there is support within the Kernel for this.
It does seem that Wii controller support can be turned on according to the kernel...
There are no known custom kernels for this phone, however, the incomplete Cyanogenmod ROM available does seem to use its own kernel.
The phone is "stuck" on ICS 4.0.4 with almost every ROM. The incomplete Cyanogenmod ROM upgrades the OS to JB 4.1.2.
The phone is known to have heating issues on different (all?) firmware versions. While these do not seem to attribute to hardware failure, it is an annoyance.
Different firmware versions apparently produce varying levels of GPU performance: The best in GPU performance is U950V1.0.0B14, but this build may produce issues in some games. The worst in GPU performance is U950V1.0.0B18, but it is stable. The U950V1.0.0B22 is stable as well but has better GPU performance than B18. I have found no information on how well the first and last firmware versions perform in terms of GPU.
To disconnect the battery connector you need to place a spudger beneath and lift up. It is the same method used for the connectors of fans, temperature sensors, and the battery in a MacBook Pro 2006/7/8.

Unfortunately I haven't found anything that would suggest that you can. The best I could do is have one of my friends tell me what each section states, but that may be a long while from now.
The menus I have figured out and listed are the most necessary. The others are just icing I suppose.
Unable to switch it back on
Hi,
first of all, please excuse me if this is not exactly related to this post, but I see there is not much discussion around this device so I figured this would be an okayish place to ask.
I got my ZTE U950 just today, put my SIM and MicroSD cards in it, turned it on, all OK. I played with it for a while, changed the language into English, tried some apps, deleted lots of default installed Chinese apps (such as Baidu, QQ, Baidu maps, etc).
I run Debian on my machine, so this guide wasn't working for me. However, I tried to run Genotools on Wine and followed the first steps, but no pop-up showed in my phone and I decided that probably Wine wasn't forwarding the USB dev properly. The phone kept on working normally for a while, I even recieved a phone call.
Then I turned it off just to switch the SIM back to my old phone and, after that, I haven't been able to switch the ZTE back on again. At first I thought it'd be the battery running out (although it reported 50% left while it was on), but I've had it connected for about 30 minutes now and I still can't turn it on...
Do you guys know if there is something I can try?
Thanks a lot and excuse me again if I posted in the wrong place... (and if I have, could you please point out where should I post it?)
Bernat.
EDIT: Today I woke up, I pressed the power button and... surprise! It just worked!

Do you have the usb-drivers installed ? (doublechek in device manager for windows ) Sometimes Win7-64 or Firewalls block uncertified drivers to install correctly. For 7-64 you can press F8 during early boot and choose "force unsigned drivers" or something simiar. On linux you should go through an Android adb installation howto, to correctly get debuginterface running.
Once you have installed chinese recover you can install some prerooted images from the hungarion or chinese sites.

3G
Hi guys,
does anybody know if/how it is possible to connect to a 3G network with this terminal? In the specs it says it can only connect to Chinese 3G networks, so I'd like to know whether this is a software or a hardware restriction.
If it's a hardware one, I guess the solution must be pretty complex...
Cheers!

I was able to root my ZTE V985 couple days ago. Download root installation package from:
http://pan.baidu.com/share/link?shareid=68344&uk=2753639880
1. Install ZTE USB driver first: Goto Settings -Developer options - enable Driver CDROM. Connect your phone to the computer and install driver package from ZTE. 985root.7z package has also ZTE USB driver but it didn't work on my Win 7, so I installed drivers from phone.
2. Turn off CDROM mode and enable USB debugging mode and Unknown sources
3. Unzip 985root.7z file to any folder
4. Run xxxroot.bat and command window appears. Script will stop and ask you to press any key (in Chinese)
5. Check that your phone is connected and press any key. Script will upload files to your phone
6. There will be popup window on your phone. Click Restore my data
7. Phone will then boot up but keep it connected to PC and wait until it is fully booted
8. if there's nothing going on in command window, press any key and command window closes. If your are rooted, you have SuperUser app

Hahaha you silly billy, i know whats happened to you! You got the ZTE U985 instead of the V985. The ZTE U985 only supports TD-SCDMA 3g network which is CHINA only. You should have bought the ZTE V985 which is WCDMA 800/1900/2100 mhz which supports western 3G networks. LMFAO. I feel sorry for you fella.
Where did you buy the v985 ? I only can find offers from 350-400$ and for this pricing I can´t find any real advantages buying a chinese phone , there is also no DualSim,and normally very limited languages ( chinese cwm?),....

I bought it from fastcardtech.com, only 275 USD with free delivery.
From hardware specs point of view this is a really good phone, fast as my Asus TF700T tab with Tegra 3. It also supports WCDMA 900/2100MHz which are the most used 3G frequencies in EU. It does have only English and Chinese languages, but I used MoreLocale 2 to get more choices. More Locale does not change system language (like settings, caller app etc) so those will remain in English, but for example now other apps like Google play, Chrome etc. supports the language you have chosen in MoreLocale.

Dont get it wrong my mate the zte v985 is a beast of a phone + a smart piece of hardware. Only downfall i see is the limited rom/root/customization support since its new (october 2012)
Reasons why you should purchase the zte v985:
1. really supports APP2SD (install apps to external sd so you never run out of space and you dont have to throw away your phone when internal memory of 4GB gets full like most other android phones)
2. quad core cpu + 12 core NVIDIA gpu (theres websites full of games made only for this cpu + gpu)
3. USB OTG (using your superfast cpu and gpu together with usb otg you can turn your phone into an high class gaming system using two usb game controllers playing arcade roms and 3d games ON YOUR PHONE!). This is an awesome feature that not all phones support even some high performance quad core phones dont have this function.
4. 720P HD screen + 1080P HD Playback/Recording
5. Full MHL support (usb to hdmi)
6. Cheapest all round high performance quad core. Awesome price (£190) for a phone compared to other quad core high performance phones e.g galaxy note 2 @ £500
NOTE: if you would like to buy this phone for the price mentioned leave a message with your email or contact me i know a seller in china.
NOTE: Or you could wait another month or two and buy the new mtk 6589 quad core phones such as the UMI X2 which is quad core, DUAL SIM, usb otg, 2GB RAM, 32GB ROM and dirt cheap (£200!!!)
I get my ZTE V985 today through the post, cant wait till i get it!

[GUIDE] Install Windows 10 mobile on a Nokia Lumia 530 (post-discontinuation friendly)

While the Nokia Lumia 530 isn’t officially supported, it’s still possible to get Windows 10 mobile running on it. At the time of writing, it has become a bit tricky to get it to work, since most official Microsoft tools are discontinued and will therefore not work. I will be linking the files which I’ve used. The credits to the people who made or shared the tools and guides I used will be at the bottom of this guide.
Note that I am not responsible for any damage made. Proceed at your own risk!
Prerequisites:
- A Nokia Lumia 530 running the Windows 8.1 Denim Update (will be referred to as "device")
- A stable Windows 7 system or VM, with .NET Framework 4.5.x or 4.6.x (on Windows 10, the IUTool will fail to synchronize, hence this requirement)
- An internet connection that can handle a download of approximately 2GB data on the computer and about the same on the phone
- A good USB cable (a flimsy one with a loose fit could brick the device while it’s updating)
- The programs linked below
First part of the installation:
1. Make sure the device is fully charged. If it’s not fully charged the device could get (soft-)bricked.
2. Factory reset the device, so you have as much storage as possible available on the device. After the reset is done, leave it at the language selection screen, because it doesn’t do anything there.
3. Extract HCTSW_WXMSOUP_V5.3beta6.update.lzma2.7z with 7zip or whatever you prefer.
4. Download the Visual C++ libraries from here: https://www.techpowerup.com/download/visual-c-redistributable-runtime-package-all-in-one/ and run the install script.
5. The next thing you are going to do is download the updates, push them to the device and install them. This will take some time, but it depends on your internet connection for the most part. The files will be downloaded from the official Microsoft servers. Now here’s what to do: open run_en.cmd and follow the steps. These are pretty clear, so I don’t think I need to point all of them out here. It will open a webpage where you can download WDRT, you will need to install that for the tool to work.
6. Now you can move on to the second part.
Second part of the installation:
In this part of the installation, you will be updating the device from version 1511 to the latest available build, which should have a working Microsoft store.
1. The setup of the device. The version that just got installed doesn’t have a lot of options yet, including language packs. If you have a device that’s not English United States, the keyboard will bug out on setup, because it’s trying to access a language pack that doesn’t exist. Therefore, the first step, setting the language should be English (United States), so the OS itself won’t bug out. Once you’ve set the language (it will prompt to reboot, do that), you can go through the rest of the setup. Don’t log it into your Wi-Fi, don’t log it into your Microsoft account and don’t turn on automatic app updates. It’ll say it needs to set up apps, that takes some time but eventually you’ll get to the home screen. Now is when you need a few tools, which brings us to step 2.
Now is a good moment for me to point out that, if you have a non-English-US device, the keyboard for another language is still "installed". It can be removed by holding it in settings -> time and language -> keyboard and choosing “Delete”.
2. Installing Interop Tools. In order to get updates, you’ll need to modify your device a bit. This won’t be very hard, but it involves some registry modifications so you’ll have to pay close attention.
Go to settings -> update and security -> for developers and enable developer mode, so you can sideload the Interop Tools (Linked below). Copy the contents of the Interop Tools zip to the device first. Then, go to the file manager on the phone and go to the directory where you put the files. INSTALL THE DEPENDENCIES IN THE \ARM FOLDER FIRST, THEN THE INTEROP TOOLS FILE ITSELF! Check if the Interop Tools installed on the “all apps screen” and get ready to open it.
3. Modifying the registry. Open Interop Tools and tap the “This Device” button. This will bring up a menu.
3.1. Tap the menu button on the top left corner, then select “Modify Registry”. In the “Registry Key Path”, put SYSTEM\Platform\DeviceTargetingInfo. Then, put PhoneManufacturerModelName in the “Registry Value Name” box and tap the “Read” button at the bottom. You’ll see some text appear in a box. This will need to be edited to the following value: RM-1089_1048. After you did that, tap the “Write” button.
3.2. Now put PhoneModelName in the the “Registry Value Name” box and tap “Read” again. Now change the value to Lumia 535 and tap “Write”.
3.3. Exit out of Interop Tools and go to the next step.
4. Logging in to the Wi-Fi and checking for updates.
4.1. Logging it in to the Wi-Fi. Go to settings -> network & wireless -> Wi-Fi and choose your network. Easy peasy probably.
4.2. Checking for updates. This is the part that always went wrong with me, because of storage limits (gotta love that 4GB eMMC). But if I’ve explained this well enough, you might not have to do a lot of weird stuff. Oh well, to the instruction we go. Go to settings -> update and security -> windows update and check for updates. This will take a while! Keep it on wall power because updating can only be done at 40% or more at this point. I got two updates: from 1511 to early 1607 and from that to late 1607. Maybe you can get a newer version with WDRT or OTC but I doubt that to be honest.
Hooray! Now you should have a fully functional Nokia Lumia 530 with Windows 10 mobile!

PS: If you brick the device, the WDRT can restore it. If it just puts it in flashing mode, you can use Windows Phone Internals to download and flash a ROM. That tool can be found here: https://www.wpinternals.net/index.php/downloads/doc_download/46-wpinternals-2-8-zip
[ADDITION] Updating from build 1607 to 1709.
I said it wouldn’t be possible and it would break stuff, but I tried it and it doesn’t break anything some people say it might break. Yeah, it might impact on battery life a bit, but nothing has broken for me (yet), it has only improved.
I’ve learned that the update from 1607 to 1703 is the hardest one yet, but you should be able to get it going. This is because the preinstalled Store in 1607 can connect to the app update servers, but it can’t view the app. This is a difficult situation because many apps will become very large when they get updated. You need to figure out for yourself what gets you the space you need, but I found that uninstalling all the apps that can be uninstalled and deleting system apps through MTP (which can be done by bootloader unlocking, rooting and booting into mass storage mode with Windows Phone Internals (I recommend that you only delete OneNote, SkyDrive (as it’s being referred to in /data/program files/windowsapps) and the Xbox app).
Step 0: you might want to factory reset first
Let’s get to the updating though…
1. Modifying the registry. Open Interop Tools and tap the “This Device” button. This will bring up a menu.
1.1. Tap the menu button on the top left corner, then select “Modify Registry”. In the “Registry Key Path”, put SYSTEM\Platform\DeviceTargetingInfo. Now do the exact same as you did before, except use these “registry value names” and put the corresponding information into the box below that. Don’t forget to tap write!
Values you should use:
PhoneHardwareVariantRM-1104PhoneManufacturerMicrosoftMDGPhoneManufacturerModelNameRM-1104_11210PhoneModelNameLumia 950
1.2. Exit out of Interop Tools and go to the next step.
2. Logging in to the Wi-Fi and checking for updates.
2.1. Logging it in to the Wi-Fi. Go to settings -> network & wireless -> Wi-Fi and choose your network. Easy peasy probably.
2.2. Checking for updates. Go to settings -> update and security -> Windows Update and check for updates. This will take a while! Keep it on wall power because updating can only be done at 40% or more at this point. I got 3 updates, one from 1607 to 1703, one from 1703 to 1709 and another one from old 1709 to last 1709.

Did you break it?
Edit: WPInternals refuses to put the phone in mass storage mode so uh... Yeah...
I managed to get them off with Interop Tools
How?

In the Interop Unlock menu, there's a mount entire storage option. Copied the EFIESP from there and compiled it into a bin. For WPI the Windows on the phone is too new :/
Thats why didnt worked
I wanted dumped partition with, WPInternals.

Yeah that doesn't work. Rename the .bin to .zip, extract, mount the phone in mass storage mode and copy the files to the EFIESP folder/symlink. If you can't do that, WDRT can probably unbreak it
Please anounce me when you can upload the dumped partition.
Is resulting that efiesp.bin , data.bin and mainos.bin are related, so i cant upgrade my phone to windows 10 mobile without them.

Just flash the original FFU. Literally all I did is in the guide and I never had to flash something from another device
Thanks, but: my phone was reflashed with reset protection active. Guess what?

Something that might work (according to a friend. Again, I am not responsible for a phone that gets rendered useless)
Mount as mass storage, diskpart clean the thing, hold power button for ~10 seconds, flash a bootloader with WDRT (may fail 2-3 times), flash FFU
_Yep, erase clean DPP partition )) buhahahaha
How do you get to the Denim update? I'm getting the error that I am running a build older than 8.10.14219.341 and need to update first.

You can download and flash it in WPInternals (will delete all data so back that up first) or WDRT (not sure if that erases userdata)

WDRT already says I'm at the latest version of Windows for my device, so that sucks. I shall try WPInternals! Thanks!
Would you please transfer a video of the process?
