[Q] Desire Screen not responding to touch - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have an unbranded, rooted Desire running 2.2. My screen randomly freezes and cannot be used from several minutes, up to an hour or so. There is no set pattern to when this happens. I am currently using the phone without the memory card to see if that is the problem, but the screen has already frozen briefly.
All the buttons work properly and any function controlled via buttons works when the screen is non-responsive, so it is not the phone that has fozen just the screen.
I have now hard reset the phone twice and tried 2 different sd cards, both of which have been wiped and reformatted. Still having the same problem. After resetting and clearing the cards the phone works perfectly for 24 hrs, but eventually the screen stops responding again.
Has anyone else had this or a similar problem? I am loathed to take the phone back to Carphone Warehouse to be repaired as I feel they will do a factory reset, see that it works fine for a few hrs and then send it back to me.
Any help or suggestions appreciated.

HTC Desire frozen lock screen issue

Hi,
Recently, my Desire HD has crapped out during the process of changing my back ground wall paper. It restarted and some how the screen got stuck on lock screen with the screen being totally unresponsive. I can tell the device is "semi-working" as the top bar shows that the phone does all its start up processes and the top lock button works (although it is with a delay).
Is there a reason why this is happening?
Any solution to it? (Yes I have gone through google for 2 hours without solution found)
If I have to resort to hard reset, is there any way I can back up my messages + things in the phone aside from programs before resetting?
Any help would be great!
Thanks in advance!
frozen lockscreen
my desire has done the same thing since rooting and using android rev rom. the only way i got mine to respond was to drop the battery out then put it back in and reboot with the charger plugged in and switched on. as soon as the phone is on, unlock it and use it. this did the trick with me. hope it helps.

Touch screen stops responding

If started reading comics on my nexus 7 2013 32Gb with perfect viewer recently. And twice today after reading for an extended time (over an hour)the touch Screen stopped responding. Everything else seemed to work but not the touch screen. Holding down the power button and rebooting has it working again.
Anyone else have this issue or should I send it in for repair?
I'm still all factory.
Is this the same? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2497017&highlight=freeze
No, I don't think so
Mine stops completely has not come back after 5 minutes I have touch trace on so I can see when I touch the screen normally. It can go to lock screen and still have no input. Never happened before now even though I have used it extensively at other times. But this is the first time I've had only one program running for over an hour with minimal touch input.

[Q] Screen Won't Turn On; Everything Else Functions Properly

I am/was having an interesting problem with my SPH-L710. I was recently at the gym listening to music on my phone, and it was functioning normally. I took my phone out of my pocket and pushed the power button, but the screen wouldn't turn on. The music was still playing, so I knew that my phone didn't just freeze. There was no immediate cause for my phone to stop working (ie I didn't drop it or get it wet at the gym), although I've dropped it several times before today without incident.
I took the battery out of the phone for a few minutes and restarted my phone. The phone turned on normally except the screen wouldn't turn on. I called myself from my landline and used the normal gesture to answer my phone and confirmed that I'm able to receive phone calls and that touch controls are working. I also tried booting my phone into both the recovery and ODIN download screens. I'm not sure if I successfully booted into those modes, but I do know that my screen didn't turn on when I tried to boot into those modes.
I took the SD card out of my phone and activated my backup phone through the Sprint website. I tried resetting my SPH-L710 after deactivating it, and the screen was functioning again. I reactivated my SPH-L710, and now it appears to be functioning normally. I have no idea whether taking the SD card out or deactivating my phone actually solved my problem or if it was just coincidence.
My ROM is MD4 with root. I have Team Win Recovery Project v2.5.0.0. My phone has been nagging me to install 4.3 for a few months now, but I haven't gotten around to researching updated ROMs yet.
My phone now appears to be functioning normally. Has anybody experienced anything like this before?

LG G3 unresponsive/extremely slow

Hello there. I have to write this again becuase the last topic I wrote didnt get posted...
I have a big problem with my G3 and I have tried everything I could but nothing helped so I hope you can help me.
First of all my phone is only stock. I didnt try rooting it or installing custom roms on it.
Heres the whole story of what happened:
A week ago my phone started to act strangely. When I tried turning the wifi off it restarted or froze for a bit and then went on normaly as if nothing happened. I didnt even have to input my pin. Then one day I got home and the phone simply started reseting itself constantly. Always loaded up to the pin screen but I didnt even have time to input the pin and it reset it self again. This went on for like 15 reset before I lost patience and pulled the battery which didnt help at all since after being turned back on it went back to the reseting. I found online that it was probably a battery problem but I was impatient (shipping to my country is over 2 weeks and buying a battery in stores here costs twice the normal price of a genuine battery but only for a "fake" battery) so I factory reseted it via power button+volume down. After that it worked normally but I lost all my data.
The day after this I spilled ice tea on the phone. I opened it, cleaned it and let it dry out. Turned it on after an hour of drying and it worked but after maybe 2 hours it began freezing. When I tapped on the screen it didnt react, when I pressed the power button it took more then 10 seconds to react to it. It turned on, didnt react to touch and then in mere seconds it went dark and then turned off. I couldnt even unlock the screen. Tried pulling the battery but then it wouldnt even turn on. It stayed on the LG logo. I left it on the logo and on the charger and after an hour or so it turned on and worked normally so I took it apart and cleaned it once more even under the screws and such and it worked after that. Until today.
The freezing problem returned. I was playing a game on it and chatting via messenger when the phone stopped reacting. I had signal, wifi, I got new notifications and basically everything on it worked but the screen didnt react to touch and when pressing the power button it took over 10 seconds to light up the screen, then it went darker and then it shut down. Couldnt do anything. After I pulled the battery it would get stuck in a boot loop for maybe 10-15 minutes and then load but the phone couldnt be used. Just as before the screen turned on with a delay but no reaction to touch whatsoever.
I tried factory reset, downgrading to a lower android version (from 6 to 4) with LGUP and lg flash tool, and I bought a new battery. Nothing worked. I managed to get it to android 4 but that didnt help either. I though it was a problem with 6 because the problem started after the update, before that I didnt have a single problem with my phone.
Now its in a state where it doesnt work. The phone is running, apps are upgrading after the factory reset and all that but I cant do anything with it. Once in a while it will work normally as if nothing but that is rare.
Could you please help ? I love this phone and I dont want to have to sell it for spare parts.
EDIT: I left the phone running to see what would happen an after several hours an error message appeared saying "Process system isnt responding". After pressing ok it worked fine. How can I fix this. I googled it but all I found was a problem with sd card (none is inside), with battery (I have a new one) and with rooting (mines not rooted).

D850 Screen unresponsive randomly HELP!....please?

Hello everyone, I just recently got a G3 and it was working fine for the 1st 2 days, no issues. I was sending a text to a friend earlier today and after it sent, it completely froze. After doing a soft reset it took forever to boot up. Once it booted up, it seemed to be fine. about an hour of operation, the screen looked as if it was freezing because it wasn't recognizing any of my touches. i decide to flip the phone sideways to see if it was actually frozen but it changed to landscape just fine. Sometimes it comes back to life then goes off again shortly after, and other times, i have to soft reset. I've tried the following to no avail.
Took the phone apart and cleaned both connectors.
Re-flashing the rom.
Trying 4 other roms.
Returned to lollipop stock.
I can't figure this out for the life to me and worked my ass of to be able to buy this phone. Any help would be appreciated as I can't afford to spend any more money on it!
I also have this issue, it's been ongoing for a few weeks. There will be short periods where it can work just fine, then it just freezes up and does not register any inputs. The content on the screen continues to run as if nothing happened (videos and games keep playing). Turning the screen off, waiting a couple minutes, then turning it on can sometimes give me another minute of use until it freezes up again. Also of note, when the screen is unresponsive and I press the power, it will dim to very low levels for a few seconds before going fully black. When the screen is being responsive and I press the power, it goes straight to black, as is normal and expected. From my testing, I've concluded:
1. This issue is not app dependent. It can occur at any time, and is not caused by alarms or overlays, such as blue light filters.
2. The issue is not from the specific battery I use. I've switched out between multiple batteries and used different chargers, none seem to affect the frequency of freezes.
3. Temperature may have something to do with this. When waking the phone after it's been sitting out in the cold, there seems to be a higher likelihood that it will be unresponsive. This is not always the case, which makes concluding that the issue is hardware related difficult, but some correlation seems to exist.
4. This issue started occurring shortly before I began having the popular "SIM Card Removed" issue, which I've yet to resolve (though can sometimes get the SIM card to work)
I am running stock 6.0 D85030p AT&T. I will post here again if I figure something out, but I have been trying for weeks without much success.
