Windows Phone 7 unlocker released - Windows Phone 7 Development and Hacking

Hey guys seems there is some news files to test on your WP7.
Today we have an exciting breakthrough for the Windows Phone 7 homebrew community - the ability for anyone to unlock a WP7 device without a Marketplace developer account.
Unlocking allows the sideloading of experimental applications that would otherwise can’t be published to the Marketplace, such as those which access private or native APIs.
We’ve taken the pain out of the process involved and put together a super simple executable that will allow anyone to unlock any WP7 device on the market using a USB cable and just a couple clicks.
This tool is completely safe and reversible for the phone. (The app even allows you to relock the phone.)
v1.0 download mirrors:

Notes
Minimum supported OS: Windows XP SP2
As this is our first release, you may run into issues. Please explain your issue in the comments below and we’ll try our best to help.
Expect more goodies/tools to be released in the near future.
We look forward to what the broader community can do with this.

You can't use a "Guest" relationship.

i hope we can use it for the ported win phoneon hd2 ...can we ?

is it true for hd2 ports?

That was quick! Fantastic news for developers. Just need to get our teeth into some native code and we will start seeing some applications which aren't rss readers!

NVM.. stupid question

it isn't working you have to ad this .reg
Code:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsPhone\ProxyPorts]
"DeviceReg"=dword:000069C5
I am off now have to restart the pc

I don't have a WP7 to test this, but MSDN says:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff769512(VS.92).aspx
edit: Oh, you can ignore the "Having a developer registered device" prerequisite

Could we get our xbox accounts banned for this? I have absoultely no intention of piracy. i cant stand that **** with someones hard work.

That's exactly how I feel. I'm not going to utilize this to pirate paid apps, just want to use all of the amazing stuff people at xda-devs and other sites are going to put out now
All we need is a Cydia-like marketplace

Now I can't try this because my phone is already unlocked using the Microsoft way, but I'm simply curios - does debugging using Visual Studio work as well? It should, shouldn't it?

I just managed to make/load an app that moos when you turn the phone upside down XD in 3 min.
Roll over android, Think WP7 is going be any C# developers wet dream to work on.

Make it *nix compatible. I'd pay for that. then you'd have to release under GPL. and I could have source. hah that'd be sweet.

In development: µIRC - An opensource IRC client

Hello. I am announcing this project here in hope of gathering feedback from the XDA-dev community. A friend of mine and me have been developing this app for a while now, and we think it has reached a point where it is quite usable and presentable. It's still a bit rough around the edges and lacking in advanced features, but we're working to improve it.

wow nice app! Is possible to set host to any www site chat?
If cabbed your app - "Wr4i7t's microIRC Client"
Do you accept donations, cause I have been looking for a program like this. I would love to see it grow.
If this gets blowfish and Linknet/SSL support at some point that would certainly make me donate!
All the existing IRC clients sadly dont seem to want to integrate this library meaning I can never read anything in my channels.
I know this is a first version and these are most likely very advanced requests but if the app is not "built" with this in mind it might not be implementable at a later point.
I have no idea on programming so thats nothing I can help on but I would gladly beta-test any new functions for you.
But for actually starting this project (since all others died) I already have to give you all a big THANKS!!!

This app is an IRC client, so it can only connect to IRC servers. However, in the unlikely case that such a site were to use an IRC backend, you could connect to it.

Thanks for the cab. We're planning to distribute cabs once the app is a bit more mature. However, I'd like to point out that I'm not even the main developer, so don't give me all the credit.

We'll consider adding that feature in the future. Right now, there are other priorities, since the app is still lacking in some very basic aspects, so it can still be a while before we get to it.
Thanks for all your feedback.
Nice work
Awesome client.
In fact the first IRC klient I have tried, where you can actually join channels/networks of your own pick. It runs smoothly on my HD2.
once you get close to zsIRC stability (for me and friends at least) let me know, otherwise...

doesnt get updated often, but havent needed to for the 3 servers and 15 channels i use... cheers (i look forward to a more oft updated IRC client)

The program is actually quite stable right now. What it really lacks is functionality. But yeah, for actual day-to-day usage, you're better off with zsirc, for the time being.
Really awesome, been looking for something like this for a while
Just needs more stability and functionality, but otherwise I'm using it just fine
Thanks!

A minor, but important, advancement was just accomplished by the same developer, Chris Walshie, who just tweeted that he has managed to get "registry and file system access" on an HTC and Samsung device, noting that the LG was next.

If it's true, then yes we will. Two easy ways - either set the path in the registry or simply replace the default ringtones with new mp3/wav/whatever format.

Pretty sure we could just write an app that has the ringtones profile and then copy the file to the \windows\ringtones (I think that's the path) directory. I don't think you even need to muck with the registry or anything.

? , In this thread all links are working .
but to OP , are there any updates we would like to know ?
We need to wait i guess!
Edit: Sorry, just found it 2 posts above this one..
I think there are no updates because... the supposed breakthroughs are not as big of a deal as advertised.
All they've *really* managed to do is to use a Samsung native DLL to invoke a FileBrowser app Samsung left on the device (that same exe does not appear to exist on HTC or LG devices). Yes, native code can be built and run but native code is not inherently valuable like everyone thinks. It can't actually do anything useful unless and until the WP7 security model has been broken or a hole found.
So there's no access to create or overwrite arbitrary files, set registry values, etc.
I'm waiting to be proven wrong.
You're correct tai4de2, mostly.
However, I never understood why people felt the need to proclaim to the world when they do things like this, especially when an update is on the way and the vulnurability/method used to do it can be patched easily.

[XAP] [12.11.2012] WMDC Launcher [Full unlock/Root Tools unlock]

WMDC Launcher
Native Debugger continuation
Do you miss fast & stable WP7 File Managers and Registry Editors for PC? If you do, there is a new approach for you - Windows Mobile Device Center Launcher.
What is it?
Windows Mobile Device Center/ActiveSync are legacy applications made by Microsoft. They provide an access to file system, registry, ... let's say, they provide full remote access to connected phone's features.
What's this launcher for?
Main purpose of this application is to enable Remote API support on device. PC will detect phone as WM and WP7 device simultaneously. Zune will still work.
Capabilities:
File managers. Almost every file manager that has WM support will work on WP7. Nice examples: Windows Explorer, Resco SendTo plugin (part of Resco File Explorer installation), CE Remote Tools File Manager, Altap Salamander, etc.
Registry Editors: CE Remote Tools Registry Editor, CeRegEdit, Registry Workshop.
Most of CE Remote Tools work.
Native debugging.
Many more apps support...
What's missed:
There is no contacts/file/calendar/etc synchronization. PC may still offer it but it won't work.
As for debugging:
IDA debugger also should work after a bit of editing magic.
Custom ROM usage:
Usage is limited. You should ask me (ultrashot) for permission.
Neither Microsoft nor author of this launcher are responsible for any damage caused by application usage. Application is distributed AS IS without any warranties. Launcher cannot be sold.
FULLY UNLOCKED AND WP7 ROOT TOOLS >=0.12 ALPHA

Here is his the presentation of the app found i here
There's been more opposition for this project than with... well, I tried to come up with a good joke, but let's cut to the chase.
I've decided to release a rewrite I made of Notifications. It only works on full unlocked devices. Here's the details:
This app caches the push notifications sent to your phone. So if someone mentions you on Twitter, and you miss the toast, it will appear in Notifications.
This app does not cache non-push messages, such as texts, emails, calls, etc.
Complete rewrite; it works differently than the original Notifications app. No PC tether, no external servers, etc.
The NC service runs on the device. This is why you need your device to be full unlocked.
I'll repeat that. It must be full unlocked, meaning you must be able to run EXE programs on it.
The setup is simple. Download and install it to your device. Run the app, and it should take you to the setup page. Press install, then agree to the disclaimer. It will prompt you to reboot. Do so, and with any luck, it'll work.
I'm releasing it without support. Notifications works for some people, doesn't for others. The problem is likely to do with full unlocking. If you have a custom ROM that is fully unlocked, it should work. As for EXE unlocking rooted devices, it may be hit or miss. We'll see on that.
The source is available on Github. Download the XAP here: ncroot1.xap. If you didn't read anything else: You need a policy unlocked or full unlocked device. If your device is not full unlocked, read the instructions appended below.
Also, if you want to test if it works, install SimplePush. It'll send a quick toast to your device.
Other than that, enjoy. I'm curious to see what the feedback is, and whether or not it works in certain scenarios. I don't know what the demand is to keep working on it, but here it is, and with that, enjoy.
Update: Should now work on interop-unlocked devices, provided you use WP7 Root Tools. To do this, install the XAP, mark it as "Trusted", run Notifications, click Install, and reboot your phone. Presto. Do give feedback on whether or not this works.

It's just a http server written using .Net (not silverlight), that listens for every push notification. But I really don't know what we can develop in this application. Any idea?
well personnaly i don't like the idea to have notification push making my phone ring every minuts (if i'm active on facebook or twitter).
So i use snotify to silence the notifications. This app would be ideal to tell me what did i miss on what app.
That's an exemple for one use, but i'm sure there is many others.
Actualy for twitter, my dream would be an app that puts in cache every tweets i missed (or the number of tweet i missed, even if i'm not mentionned, or every tweet from some selected profiles) so i would know if its worth opening the app or no (instead of checkin every 10 mins if there's something interesting) but we're maybe out of subject !
Any idear why it wouldn't work on my device btw ? I am full unlocked (septvies's devbuild_8862 1.5) on samsung Omnia 7
