Would it be possible to port the New HTC Camera apk to older HTC Sense roms? The camera app i'm interseted in is the one in the MyTouch 4G/HD ROM and in the Desire HD ROM. I'm currently running IncDoes' Lexikon Port with his flashpatch and though the new camera app is pretty neat-looking.

There are plenty of 3D Gallery apks around to use on your desire, however they are all of the 2.1 Nexus rom, not the one found in Froyo. I was wondering if there is a 3d Gallery froyo apk somewhere that works on the Desire (really like to check out the multitouch preview function in the new gallery).
I already tried taking the apk out of a custom rom but that didn't work good.

I'm on ava-froy z3 right now and it has the stock camera. I have had a ported sense 2.0 rom and liked the camera, the rom just didn't completely work well for me. Is there anyway to get the apk from one of the ported sense 2.0 Roms to work, if its at all possible?

I am running a custom ROM by Cyanogen on my HTC Desire. I have tried several applications for using the camera but none even come close to the Sense Camera App which is present in the factory ROM.
Where can I get it back from ? And how do I install it ?
I've tried installing the apk on several non sense roms and it just wont work. I don't think its possible

That's disheartening to hear! I might just consider switching to the original rom if there isn't a way to install it on cyanogen

You won't be able to run a Sense app (in this case HTC Camera) on an AOSP ROM.
The Sense app relies on Sense libs which are copyright protected and belongs to HTC. That's why none ASOP ROM uses HTC Camera (as they don't include the required libs). Also to make it work on a ROM which does not include the Sense libs, this would requires patches, or a port of the required libraries which is, if not impossible, at least very difficult.
Personnaly, I do prefer AOSP ROMs (and finally ended with Oxygen) as I prefer the advantages of these ROMs compared to Sense ones. I do occasionnaly use other application to take photos and I can live without the HTC camera app (which I must recognize is quite good).
Damn it! Well anyway thanks for your help.
Btw can u suggest a camera app which is good enough? The stock android camera sucks donkey balls and camera 360 is not that great either.

I would like to know if it was possible to put a sense 2.1 camera app to the bravo official gingerbread rom, since sense 2.1 camera app can auto focus WHEN recording, and the camera app in old sense isnt able to!
