Really hope some friendly soul out there can help me.
Trying to build an app that uses DownloadStringAsync to download a HTML page. The problem is that Swedish characters (å, ä, ö) doesn't show up and just appear as a black diamond with a white questionmark in it.

I guess it ahs to do with unicode or the lack of unicode but have no clue on how to fix it. I'm really new to this.

Have you tried setting the encoding to Unicode?

Yes, I have tried it but maybe not exactly the way you suggested. But it didn't help.
This is what I get when debugging:
calendarItems = "R�sta nu\r\n"
Only other thing which you probably tried if you typed that in is
WebClient wc = new WebClient ();
wc.Encoding = System.Text.Encoding.Unicode;
You should post this on the create.msdn.com forums. Since it's run by Microsoft there's Microsoft employees and other people who are very helpful.
Try the HTML Agility pack. The latest version on codeplex has a sample WP7 library, which I found works very well. It should make your scraping easier, plus it'll probably be more flexible around encoding.

Yes, this works perfectly with Unicode characters. HTML scrapping made easy with this.
Can someone post up the pre-compiled version and a short tutorial on how to use it properly?

Reading around in the net I found the review of a new phone: E-TEN M600, follow the link: http://www.mobiletechreview.com/E-TEN_M600.htm. They talk about a new software called INDEX DIAL. Since you still haven't received any answers let me at least try to point you in the right direction.
ETEN M600 is not a new phone. It's been around for over a year and despite looking good on paper it had a ton of problems and needed constant ROM updates. I considered buying it my self when it first came out, but now I am glad I didn't.
The app you are talking about is a feature unique to this phone (ETEN bought / wrote the app and stuck it in ROM) and is not available for other phones. (At leas I haven't heard of a 3rd party app that does this)
Hoeven, programs have been extracted from the eten ROM. You should look in the ETEN specific forum (this board is mainly about HTC manufactured devices) maybe someone extracted the index dial.

how to create a link to this program?
YES!! I love this program: I installed it on my MDA (T-Mobile USA) and it works fine. My problem is how to create a link so that I can activate it fast. It doesn't show in the Programs, it doesn't show in the Items setting, nor in the Menus setting, nor can it be associated to any button. Any suggestion?

I think there may be a problem with the WVGA version; the curved element on the right of the page does not run the full height of the page and I suspect some notifications may be missing (email and SMS?).
Can you check and confirm? Or is it something I have done...??

If you follow the link to the site there is a union jack flag towrds the upper right that will give you an English language version (sort of!). Register, login and download.

Well it seems a realy nice ROM, but please give more description: what is the memory/storage left, why is it a special alternative interface ROM (Is Manilla totally removed ?), what is the system version number, is it based on specific kitchen ? See other ROMs release for the provided details.
As I'm French, I support localized ROM like yours, but in return, non french-speaking people cant' appreciate your work. Good luck !

Thank you! Yes of course i will include megabits (and generally bits instead of only bytes). Also i will include numerical system conversion, conversions from and to decimal,hexadecimal,octal and binary The update will be probably posted at the store at Monday. I will update this post when it's available.

The update 1.1.0.3 is available. It should download automatically in the next few hours. You may also do it maually from Store's settings.

-Added conversion between numeral systems
-Enabled number input right after selecting the "from" unit
-Added more units in "Data" and "Speed"
