Stock ROM anybody... - Continuum Android Development

So I was wondering, does anybody have the stock ROM, is it Odin, or in normal update.zip format, I'm wanting to port it, seeing as how it have an HVGA display (Right?)

So, all I can find is where Samsung released the source code. It's available at:
http://opensource.samsung.com/
Click on the Mobile tab and look for SCH-i400 vzw.
I'm not a dev myself, so I'm not sure how much that will help. It's a .zip, but I'm not sure if it would be flashable.

The Samsung Continuum doesn't have an HVGA screen. It has a WVGA screen, just like all the other Galaxy S phones.

I just checked the whole file over, and from what I know of ROM making, this is not a ROM. It looks more like a kit to start, but don't quote me on that. I only have a very very limited knowledge, and that was from when I had a Droid1.

That's what I thought, but it'll be the place to start for any devs who want to jump on this grenade.

I just figured since the screen was 3.4 inches that it was HVGA

Hello to all. I have got one question. Has anyone been able to root the continuum? I have tried using z4root temp option but no luck.

I'm guessing this is the beginning of it?
Wifi doesn't need to be on, does it? Or will it just take a while with 3G(barely)
EDIT: Whoop, nevermind, it changed now and says the update is available. I'm probably just gonna go ahead and do it, I'm sure someone will find a way around it later on if Froyo disappoints.

Is there a way to flash this on AVD?
we can take a look around the ROM and see what is up as well as look into breaking it before the phone is released. remember that the aria was rooted days before it was actually released as a phone, having the build can get us a head start on the hacking process. thank you for posting

What you mean different from your G2, if you have one why have you not provided a sys dump or any info, if not then stop trolling that you have one as that is not helpful

Yeah, I agree, tubaking. He's full of crap. He's saying the rom is different and talking about sense ui. We all know that it has no trace of sense at all. Either he has a desire z or is just trolling. He's definately not one of tmobile employees who actually got a G2 tester model. He sounds like a 13 year old kid trying to screw with people on the internet...
I got no problems with posting pics of the phone tomorrow when i am back at work and yes it is a desire z. Same as g2 because the g2 t-mo rom loaded fine once i renamed the zip.

Lol! I thought thats what it was. I wasn't quite sure if you were a troll or just a semi-confused desire z owner. My apologies. So... it did flash, huh? Wow, I knew they were close but didn't think you could use each others roms. Thats good to know! What works or what doesn't work? You mind testing it out for us? I doubt we want pics but would like a report on what doesn't work after flashing a G2 rom....
So here is the proof. Both hardware versions in the uk anyway were called vision and can put either rom on. This hardware had Desire Z sw on it when i got it.

Questions about CyanogenMod

You can install swype to cm but it isn't installed by default. There's a thread in this section about getting it installed actually. As for flash, I don't think that will work, no. I have never actually tried it, but theoretically, you might be able to download CR_Mod and extract HTC_Flash.apk from /system/app to say, your downloads folder, then adb push that file to /system/app after you root in clockwork recovery (remember to mount /system in the partitions menu in clockwork). Post back if you need me to explain more about that, and I will, I'm just using my phone so it'd be a bit hard on my thumbs to type the long explanation haha

Well, you might be able to pull htcflash/flash light from the stock ROM and use that, but I'm pretty sure that's a part of webkit, and I doubt that it would work on a different browser, so yeah probably not.

[Q] Sprint LG OptimusG LS970 comparable to LG Mach LS860?

Ive been looking for development on the LG Mach LS860, but I have not turned up anything besides a small thread just trying to gain support. I was wondering if any brilliant minds here knew if the LS860 is similar software or hardware wise to the OptimusG LS970? I know it has different specs, but I was hoping it would use the same chipset or similar software so that I could try using OptimusG root/unlocking techniques with a slimmer chance of destroying my phone. Haha (not worried about losing apps/contacts, just worried about having a bricked bootloader)
Thanks for any input in advance!
My justification for inquiring about this is the fact that they were released at the same time and have similar physical features, besides the Mach's physical keyboard.

So, is it possible to use roms based on that phone/chipset then? I figured using the optimus g unlocked bootloader would have been best since I assumed the software would be very similar.

I had PGM on my galaxy nexus.... after getting used to it, it really really hard to live without this feature (especially after a few failed hardware buttons on phones in the past). Alongside the on-screen buttons, my phone required no hardware button pressing.
This is the one feature I will go to the ends of the earth looking for, and unfortunately I have yet to find anything like this for the S4. The reason this is such an obscure feature is because it requires low level kernel+hardware development, and from what I have heard from ponery and other devs, getting the kernel and screen to listen for specific screen input /w a corresponding kernel module (while keeping battery drain at an acceptable level) requires very very specific hardware and boatloads of very extensive, tricky, and sensitive development.
I wish someone would make something like this for the S4 (if ponery did I would jump for joy), and I would pay good money for it too.
It would have been really awesome if samsung would have included this type of feature alongside airview (and made sure they were both really really polished.... like an open airview api out-of-the-box), instead of the dumpster full of gimmicky garbage they did include.

I don't mean to bother but I asked a few months ago how you got the app working on your s4. You said you downloaded something else to do it? I've been looking everywhere for this.
I know I would need a kernel as well so what kernel did you get with it?

Don't think I ever said I got it working. The description at the time said it was compatible (which it doesn't now) but after installing the app I needed to install some extra module which is only for nexus which made it useless for me.
