your mp3 player.

That's strange. I didn't use it. I rebooted it and it stopped. =|

Well I can't say that I know this, but just the name would suggest to me that it is related to the DLNA features of the phone.

if your Wifi is constantly ON and you have a home Wifi network with a Windows 7 or any DNLA device thats constantly on then its detecting Media Server and is connecting to it, that media servier pops up in my PS3 all the time even if i did not set my PC to share files with anything else

That might explain it but I've never set up dlna to work with anything I have. Fortunately it stopped running after I did a reboot. It's sad though how much of a cpu hog it really is even when it's not connected to anything

If I start my DLNA app and then "back out" of it, after a bit I'll get a message saying that it's running and consuming power and do I want to shut it down. I know the Task Manager has to be used sparingly, but I've set DLNA as one of my few apps to kill when the screen times out.

[Q] Using EVO as GPS device for laptop

While preparing to storm chase last night I started to wonder if there was a way to use my EVO to send GPS coordinates to my radar software on my laptop. Has anyone done something similar to this? I've looked at apps that were supposedly suppose to do this in the past, but was not able to get them to work.
Just wanted to know if anyone else had any experience doing this. I already use wireless tethering for the internet connection now, but it would be great if I could just bring the laptop and phone and have it all covered.
Also, as a side note, I have noticed a handful of apps that will send the data via Bluetooth, but I do not have Bluetooth available on my laptop, so I would prefer to just be able to transmit via USB. I may just have to break down and buy a bluetooth module for my laptop.
As of right now it seems that this isn't possible. Someone else with a Droid incredible wanted to do the exact same thing. It seems that gps module in the phone isn't capable of sending anything via USB. Maybe Bluetooth would actually work! Here's the read.

If this is the drawsomething by omgpop or w/e, they were reporting server issues/facebook server issues via various tech blogs. I believe this was the game that overloaded their Amazon cloud servers, so they were moving everything to a new host. Apparently its something wrong on their end that will be fixed over time.
Everyone around me in school Android or iphone is playing it. It's getting me annoyed as I purchased it in hopes that it would solve the problem.

I was getting this error repeatedly yesterday. Restarting the phone solved the issue for me.
Yeah they've been having server issues pretty regularly. The game is great when it works but it needs a ton of polish and there are several standard things its missing for this type of game, like notifications and chat. "Jirafabo" if anyone wants to play.

HTC kobo reader connection.

Hi y'all.
Been having weird connection problems on my reader app.
Recently I suddenly couldn't get connection to kobo server anymore. This happens on wi-fi. Then I switch to 3g and connection works again.
I switch back to wi-fi and connection works fine for a while until it starts all over.
For everything else the Wi-Fi connection hums along nicely without a hitch.
According to the app the kobo and "digital editions" accounts are A-ok. I considered installing Kobo's own app but I kinda like the HTC reader.
I did a search but no go. Any & all inputs are appreciated.
One more thing. This is kind of embarrassing. How does one close a book? If you look at the attached screen dump you'll see that the Asimov novel has a "dog ear"

It's not exactly wrong per se. The book has a dog ear on the very last page. For the life of me I can't figure out how to remove the dog ear and close the book. In the regular Kobo app you long press the book and get an option to close. Not so here. Please advise.

Elo.

YouTube Preload "Watch Later" Not Working

I have a Sprint Galaxy Nexus running Android 4.1.1 and I have had the Preload "Subscriptions" and Preload "Watch Later" option enabled on my phone when connected to WiFi and charging, but every since the option became available I have never been able to get the "Watch Later" playlist to preload. I find a video I want to watch that's not on my subscriptions, add it to my watch later playlist, and it refuses to preload when I'm charging and on WiFi. The subscription preload works great for me though. So I'm just wondering if this is a common problem, or maybe I am doing something wrong, or if there is some kind of tweak that maybe I'm not aware of.
You need to open the app for it to star loading.
I marked videos as "Watch Later" within the YouTube app
Did you check the watch later tab on your channel?
Yep the videos show up in the watch later tab but refuse to preload
That's very odd as I use the feature all the time. I do remember when I first started using it though it didn't work. I guess you gotta give it time. Also check to see if youtube is using any background data on WiFi.
It should look something like this:

4G hangs when torrenting and using IRC at the same time?

This is really bizarre to me...when I'm on 4G, it randomly hangs up if and seemingly only if I have μTorrent running while also having AndChat connected to a server (4G icon will stay lit showing data transfer despite there being none, and apps will take their sweet time to timeout instead of giving "no network connection" errors). Toggling airplane mode on/off gets my connection back, but the same thing happens after 15-30mins. μTorrent on its own seems to work fine and I can use other programs at the same time (e.g. youtube) without issues...just not irc.
It's not really a big deal, I'm just curious what would cause it. Currently running GB27 kernel/modem.

Any torrent app uses a huge amount of bandwidth. It will hog most if it and disable most apps from connecting correctly.

Yep... Basically do everything you need to do before you start downloading torrents.
