Short review of M-Edge Trip as case for Archos 70 - Gen8, Gen9, Gen10 Accessories

I recieved my case for the Archos 70 today, and even though it wasn't made specifically for the Archos 70, I am quite pleased with it. Link and pics below.
Seller and Price:
The case is the M-Edge Trip Kindle Jacket (Fits 6" display, 2nd Gen Kindle). I purchased it from Amazon. The case itself is $19.99 and with expedited shipping, the total came to $29.55.
Design:
I ordered the Black and Tan case, but it comes in various coulors. The idea of this case seems to be to make your e-book reader look like...well, a book. The exterior of the case is made from black canvas. The canvas is soft and has some padding, but not too much to make it feel bulky or smushy. The spine is very firm tan leather. It doesn't collapse when pressure is put on it, but it folds back easily so you can hold it in one hand. The case itself does not have a traditional magnetic or metal clasp to keep it closed. Instead, the M-Edge Trip is held closed by a tan elastic which is connected to the case by a tan leather patch sewn tightly to the outside of the case (see pic).
The interior of the case is a very soft cream-colored microfiber. It feels a little like very soft suede, and I feel very comfortable about it coming in contact with the screen of the device (with or without a screen protector). The A70 is held in place by four mounting points. The top two are narrow leather and elastic, and the bottom two are just leather. The straps hold the A70 well, but there is some wiggle room, not enough for it to fall out unless you hold it by one cover and shake it a lot. The microfiber interior helps in this respect, because it keeps the A70 from sliding around in the case.
The best thing about this case is that when the A70 is inside, none of the ports are blocked. No matter how you turn it (with ports at bottom or the top), the fact that the straps are at the corners keeps them from being obstructive. The only thing that the straps obstruct is the volume rocker. Only a small portion of the rocker is obstructed, and the strap doesn't actually press on the button at all. I can plug in the charger, headphones or the USB without removing the A70 from the case.
Dimensions and fit:
The case has the following dimensions: 8.25" height x 5.9" width x .75" thick (with A70 inside), which seems to differ a bit from the manufacturer's posted dimensions, but my measurements are accurate.
Once the A70 is inside, the case surrounds the device with about .5" on each side and .25" on the top and bottom (see pics). I like the fact that there is some extra room in case I drop it, no part of th device should actually hit the ground. It also makes it easier to hold in both landscape and portrait modes (someplace to put your thumb).
All in all, the case is quite sturdy and well-made. I give it a rating of 8/10. Which is excellent considering that it really isn't made for the Archos.

But, 3d gen cover is a litle smaller then A70 in height. So a70 will look out of cover from one side. In it A70 looks like more hard keeping.

In all honestly, I really wouldn't want my A70 sticking out of the top like it does in the 3d Gen case. The case I have is perfect for the A70 I think.
I would like to add one caveat to my review though. Since it's canvas, the case pics up lint and dust. My room isn't the cleanest (sadly), so that will be a concern in the future. But I still really like this case.

It`s M-edget jacket for last gen kindle.

When you move your Archos, it does remain in place ?

It`s fixed very hard, becouse this case is a little smaller than archos. So straps holds Achos better then Kindle in that case. Loook green elastic lines. I can hold by case and shake very hard and it will not fall out of case.
What you mean by "Move"?

in the bag ?
or when you use accelerometer

It`s a case, not bag.
It`s fixed very hard. Look photos ones more!

Another quality m-edge case
I got the m-edge latitude case for the 2nd gen kindel and it's pretty sweet! The 70IT fits snug in the case. The side pocket is spadex and stretches out to hold headphones and cables. It also will flip around so you use it as a stand. I think it's a good value for $29. I bought mine at BestBuy. Check it out at their site...

I ordered the following case from ebay. I had ebay bucks to spend so I gave it a shot. Review to come once I get it. It's synthetic leather but I don't really care as long as it fits and works well.

Any updates mate?
It took some time (about two or two and a half weeks) to get this to NY but I know that the weather was probably a factor. That being said here is the review (please note that this is a SUBJECTIVE review and if you buy based on it and are unhappy I apologize but don't hold me responsible):
Overall I think the case is of great quality. It's durable feeling and makes me much more comfortable in rough handling the device (not literally of course).
The fit and finish is really great. It fits the device like a glove. The holes and slots line up perfectly.
Profile of the Archos is not effected greatly either. I mean of course the unit will be a little bulkier in the case and slightly heavier but not to the extent that it made me dislike it. The 101 is the slimmest tablet I have held so even a silicone case would feel bulky but this fit in a rather good way.
The horizontal stand is good but not great when comparing to the one built in to the device. That is because it's not as rigid and will slide if you are pressing too hard. That i to be expected I guess since it's not a rigid stand. It does the trick for most things though (like resting on my stomach while I'm using the 101 in bed.
The concept of the vertical stand is quite flawed. It works okay again if I am resting it against my raised legs while in bed but on a flat surface it doesn't stand straight. Not only doesn't it stand straight but using it is minimal without it falling back. (This is probably the biggest flaw).
****EDIT- I am giving it 9.5 stars now and taking back the above review regarding the vertical stand. I wasn't using it right. I looked at the picture and found that you have to use the horizontal stand to sturdy the vertical one. Did that and it was great.****
Overall I give this thing 9.5 out of 10 stars. The half star is missing because the vertical setup is still a little slanted but not majorly. I think it serves as a great case and gives confidence that it will protect the case. The memory card holders are cool and the fact that you can clasp the cover around the back so it doesn't dangle while using is great.
Let me know if you have any questions.

One more thing. I am selling the case. I no longer have my Archos. The one pictured is a friends that I am selling for him also. If anyone is interested in either please let me know. Hmmm, I don't think it would but I had a screen protector so I didn't even think about it. I think everyone should put a screen protector on anyway but I think the cardholder has soft edges and will not scratch.

[R] Belkin Slim Folio Stand (case review)

Ok, So I found this case at frys for $20 yesterday and I thought I would post a review for XDA, as there is none yet for this particular case in these forums. (at least, according to the search tool there isn't...) (P.S. I apologize for such large images, I should have downgraded them further than I did.)
So, my review:
Appearance: 7/10
Functionality: 9/10
Value for Money (at $20): 8/10
The Box:

First Consideration, Functionality:
This is a stand type case, thus it does well in this section. It offers dozens of different positions (viewing angles) and due to the way the backstand is connected to the base, the user has the choice of a steeper angle or a flatter viewing angle. ( In order to select, move the lower part of the back in or out from the base...)
Side Profile:
A second positive feature of the case is the leatherette finish in addition to featuring a lid in the closed position, thus the case does a good job protecting the XOOM from dent, dings and scratches.
However, the one negative in regards to functionality is dock connectivity. It is just awkward. There is a Velcro flap that holds the XOOM in place, but it must be removed prior to any connections to a dock (regardless of adapter). Even then, if the XOOM is still in its case, then it won't rest properly, thus a strike against the stand case. (however, I had none of these troubles when using my OTG cable)
Appearance:
Things I like:
The leatherette finish is a nice addition, it adds a feel of quality that plastic cases seldom possess. The case also has a variety of textures, which is a nice touch. There is only one small logo on it, which is good, and all of the cutouts for the variety of sensors or ports are in the right place and are neat enough.
The Texture:
Front View:
Things I don't like:
This case isn't exactly slim on an absolute scale. I suspect that compared to other folio stands it is slim, but compared to many cases, the bulk is a negative. On the back, when the case is closed, there are some wrinkles in the back of the case that are irritating, but don't reduce functionality.
Value for Money (I.E. My Conclusion)
Basically, this case is worth $20. Maybe $30, but for sure not the $50 best buy wants for it. It just isn't perfect, which a case costing $50 should be. It is a slick case that makes the tablet more comfortable to use in many situations, but it fails in many of the ways other XOOM cases do, it could do with another revision.
I have this case. It hasn't held up very well. where the cover meets the rest of the case it is tearing on both sides. I spent $35 on it and as far as I am concerned it should be holding up better. I have only had it for about a month and a half.
Mine is also tearing, not sure it was worth the $10 I paid if it gets any worse.
I saw this case in Target the other day. What a piece of junk.
Makes my Motorola Folio case by Moto look like a godsend.
Actually, im surprised no one seems to like the Moto case. I think its does its job without adding any bulk. And the stand is perfect.
I guess if I was looking for a bulkier case to provide protection from a nuclear blast I would go with something else...otherwise the 17.99 I paid at Best Buy for the Folio was worth it.
I have had mine for two months and it gets flimsy with use . Also have to leave it open to charge .
I guess this is a case of initial impressions vs. Long term review...

I am also baffled by what appears to be general dislike for the Moto case. I really like it.
I bought my MOTO folio case with my Xoom many months ago. It has held up great, but like other folio offerings, you must leave it open to charge. I fixed that by making a hole with my soldering iron. I have shopped around for other cases in curiosity, and found the Belkin a bit low on the material quality side. I am forced to carry a cloth in my case from the wierd smudges the Moto case leaves on my screen, but I am pleased with it overall.
I was planning on ditching my CaseLogic case due to bulk and getting the Moto case but I thought users complained that it scratched their Xoom edges.
I think it was determined that the "scratches" were the plastic from the case rubbing off on the Xoom. you could rub the "scratches" off of the Xoom with a finger.

It's pretty nice. The leather feels good, is slightly cushioned and has a backing that makes the case stiff. Stitching and build quality is excellent and the Nexus fits perfectly.
My first impression was that the phone would easily fall out but it's really snug, you can easily hold the case upside down with the Nexus inside and it will not slide out.
The inside is plastic which was slightly disappointing. Not that I'm worried it will damage the phone but some felt or other soft material would have been nicer.
Oh and the packaging was pretty classy too for a cheap case. Nice box and a free leather key ring which I'll never use but hey, free is good.

Also I think the interior is a rougher leather, not the plastic I mentioned above.
That looks really really good
got mine today. Fabulous quality, fits perfectly and is quite classy. Matches the GN so well that is hard to think of a better pouch for it. Well spent $33 australian delivered.
Hi, just wondering how long it took to arrive?
Hi guys,
i received this case 2 days ago, shipped from hong kong, bought over amazon. It smelled really strong just after unboxing, so i put it on my balcony for some days. Now it doesnt smell that strong anymore, but its still noticeable. I wonder if you experienced the same? I found some reviews about other pdair cases (like this) bit they say its odorless?
I do not agree with

uhh...yeah, that's a pouch.
Thank you ..I see
Purchased one of these myself - wrote a review on Amazon, which is below:
Case seems to be of decent build quality, fits the phone's basic shape fine.
Sadly, it doesn't seem that any care has been taken in the design of the case. No access is available to the volume buttons in the case, and you can either access the power button *or* the USB/Headphone socket - the power button is always obscured if the USB port is exposed. Also, no consideration of the curve of the phone has been taken into account - the case has been designed to take a flat phone, which is especially pronounced due to the stiff front and back panels of the case. Finally, in the description, "Opens and closes with ease thanks to a magnetic closure press stud" - which is false... and completely irrelevant, as there's nothing to close...
Overall, I'm still happy enough to use the case - it seems like it provides decent protection, though the price is a bit much given the poor design.
I like the look of it.

[REVIEW] Incipio Frequency Case For HTC One

Alright guys, took me a little bit to get this final review of the Incipio offerings but I should now have a review for every one of their cases on this forum. As always please let me know if you have any questions or would like to see additional camera angles. Thanks!
DESIGN
When you think of TPU cases you get the impression that the quality can be hit or miss and the price usually would reflect that. But such is not the case with the Incipio Frequency case. The design is simple, clean, light and extremely form fitting. Installation is not cumbersome as with other TPU cases which make you fight with the corners in order for them to snap on.
The fit is nice and snug and the way it feels in your hand is the closest I’ve encountered to the natural feel of the HTC One minus the cold from the aluminum. I would expect to have this level of thinness from a hard shell case such as the Incipio Feather but definitely wasn’t expecting it from the Frequency at first glance. How thin is it you ask? Thin enough that you question whether the phone is sitting in your pocket naked at times.
The lip appears to be thinner than that of the Incipio Feather case coming in at a mere .8mm. I didn’t receive those specs from Incipio, I merely observed that it was half the thickness of a US quarter which happened to be lying on my desk at the time of writing.
The case derives its name from the sound/equalizer pattern taking up about half of the back. Inside of the pattern you will notice a reflective glossy finish that not only gives it a premium look but assists in providing friction when holding it in the palm of your hand.
I like to use every case I get exclusively for a period of time to get a good feel for it and I have to admit there is something that went unnoticed until I sat down to type the review. As it turns out Incipio decided to incorporate the chamfered edge found on our HTC One into the back portion of the case and after noticing it I have a new level of appreciation for the attention to detail they put into the Frequency case. I’m assuming the placement is correct as the phone sits very snug inside but unfortunately there is no way for me to confirm this as I have not yet acquired the ability to see through objects.
BUILD QUALITY
I briefly mentioned the case is very snug but without the annoying rigidness of most TPU cases which force you to fight with the corners when installing them. I would of liked to see the pattern continue on the sides as the case tends to feel a bit slippery when only holding it from the sides but its by no means a deal breaker.
The button and port cutouts are the absolute best I have ever seen on any brand case including the other Incipio cases I took a look at. The power button is the perfect size for your finger to sit without having to angle it any certain way and the 3.5mm headphone port provides ample room for pretty much any brand to plug in. The best by far though is the pin sized hole cutouts for the primary and noise canceling microphones. Trust me I have never seen a more precise hole on a case before.
I love the black version of the Frequency case as it matches my Black HTC One extremely well. The volume rocker is covered but provides two raised buttons for easy recognition. I did find them a bit stiff and am hoping they will wear in quickly but I don't adjust my volume settings very often as I have them set just right for me. For the exact measurements of the case please see below:
Length: 5.54 in (140.72)
Thickness: 0.08 in (2.03 mm)
Width: 2.85 in (72.39 mm)
Depth: 0.41 in (10.41 mm)
Weight: 1.0 oz
CONCLUSION
The Frequency case has way more to offer than I had originally assumed. I'm a sucker for attention to detail and Incipio certainly pulls through with a great TPU case for anyone seeking a stylish alternative to a hard shell. The workmanship is top notch and it is truly the closest I've come to carrying the phone naked. The case retails for $24.99 and is available in the following colors:
Royal Purple
Cherry Blossom Pink
Black
Translucent Mercury
I took twice as many pics of this case as the rest so my apologies

i just got that case top and bottom of the right side dont go flush like the rest, easy for the phone to pop out in the top and bottom corners for some reason. might be a bad one.
Hows this with finger prints? Could you also share the screen protector ur using please .. thanks..
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 2
The matte part shows no signs of finger prints. The shiny particles (equalizer) shows some after time, but it's still cleanable with microfiber cloth.
Definitely not fingerprint and oil magnet like Belkin Grip Sheer.
I also would like to mention, that this saved my One during New Year celebrations. Phone dropped from lap height (standing position) two times, and there's absolutely no sign of damage. Both phone and case are in pristine condition.
As Incipio refused to replace my faulty case (it started to squeak when pressing volume buttons) due to fact, that i purchased it via non-authorized reseller (ebay) => omg it was their original packaging properly closed, untouched when it arrived to me, but anyway.
I decided to make small modification to the case. UAG is well known for this, so i gave it a try. I cut one side (near back) with exacto knife of volume button cover, so it holds together only by the other and voila ! Squeaking stopped completely and buttons are extremly easy to press, very tactile and much better than on stock phone.
I attach picture of my modification to make it clear.
Also, there is video to show / prove squeaking caused by pressing buttons (before modification).

Review of UAG Folio Case for S6 w/lots of pics!!!

This is a Review of UAG Folio case for Galaxy S6. http://www.urbanarmorgear.com/products/galaxy-s6-folio-black, available on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/URBAN-ARMOR-GEAR-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B00SXFEAB4/
I have reviewed a number of different "folio" cases in the past for various phones, but I never end up using one. The problem is that most of these cases are either too slim with hardly any drop protection in favor of scratch protection, or they have annoying flapping cover that doesn't stay latched, or have front cover storage that bulks up the case and puts a pressure on the screen. Either way, it wasn't my cup of tea though I know a lot of people do prefer these. Furthermore, while being a fan of UAG cases I know they like to play it safe with their signature fused double layer open face design. So you can imagine my surprise when they introduced and I got a chance to test their S5 Folio case last year. Now, on their 2nd gen, they re-introduced Folio case for S6 model with an updated design. Here is what I found.
The first thing you notice out of the box is a soft textured feel of this case. Referred to as "frogskin technology" grip, they use a proprietary rubberized material with a non-slip grip where according to UAG it maintains grip even in wet and slippery conditions. Once you flip the cover open, unlike S5 Folio case, you are no longer presented with a pocket under the cover. The inside has a padded cover with suede finish that won't scratch or put a pressure on the screen. The front cover has a very narrow tab with a magnetic latch on the side to keep it closed. I do have to mention that once magnetically “latched”, the cover is securely closed but I had to align it with a magnet every time I closed it. That narrow tab is “too narrow” to close with a casual flip, so it requires just a little bit of effort to make sure it’s aligned.
So where did a pocket for credit cards disappeared? Like a magician case with a secret trap door, there is a velcro strip to flip the cover flap and to reveal a secret pocket in the back where you can place up to 3 credit cards. At first I was on a fence if I like this solution or not. It is very original, and it keeps the case slim (relatively speaking) without bulging cover where you usually store your cards/money. Here, you won’t be able to put money bills, but 3 credit cards (or combination with a driver license) fit perfectly and easy to slide out. I think it’s a really cool idea!
As I mentioned above, one of the big problems with a folio cases is not enough security to hold the phone and lack of general protection if you drop it. Some cases barely even hold your phone at the corners while others glue a cheap tpu or plastic case to the back cover. Here you have a fully functional high quality case with a folio cover on top of it. This portion of the case resembles a regular UAG case with a similar fused dual layer design and inner honeycomb impact resistant layer, but instead of a hard shell it uses soft rubberized "frogskin" finish. You still get a great level of protection while holding it securely inside and an easy way to take the phone out when need it. You even get a secret hidden pocket for a spare SIM card storage. Also, just like with a regular UAG case, you get power and volume up/down buttons covered and a great tactile response when pressed. All the ports are generously open at the top and the bottom of the phone, and you get a precise camera/flash/sensor cutout on the back. The front cover has a cutout around front speaker area at the top so you can carry on a phone conversation with a cover closed.
Overall, I think this is among few folio cases that I find to be all in one stylish, practical, and not too bulky whenever someone decides to keep their wallet at home and just take the phone and keys along with a case. It offers hidden storage functionality, high quality exterior finish, access to all the ports and buttons, and the same high level of protection I have come to expect from their regular cases. After all, it is still tested to meet military drop-test standard (MIL STD 810G 516). Also, the case is available in Black or Red exterior color.
Here are the pictures.
